Let's see if we actually get a response today!

You are the Long Fangs tribe, a primitive tribe of peoples on the cusp of the Bronze Age. With the assistance of your heroes and the guidance of your gods, it falls to you to guide your people through the ages, steering them through good times and bad, towards their eventual, far-off destiny. Do you think you are up to the task? Can you (to steal a phrase) build a civilization to stand the test of time?

Alright, so what are our plans for this thread?
>>
>>25285230
Should we maybe prepare for some sort of cultural event? Like invite everybody over, treat them to our abundant food, reveal our kick-ass hurley sport, generally try and get back in everyone's good graces?
Speaking of winter, we could use the winter and our abundance to our advantage to finally try and organize that colony over to the former lion tribe's place. Move a group of people and miners over there in the spring, start a settlement, have it fortified by the time ol man winter rolls around again
>>
Heres an idea. Have we any sort of religion asside from hero revrence?
Do we have a proper leader?
>>
>>25285357
Not a proper leader per se, and we do have a handful of gods that recieve worship.

Hrunti the Lone Wolf, God of Wolves
Chani the Flowing Water, Goddess of the River
Groza the Honorable Duel, God of War and Combat
Perwan the Bountiful Harvest, God/dess of Agriculture
Khoine the Howling Winter, Goddess of Snow
Ermetha the Rising Sun, Goddess of the Sun Ascending
Marnath the Setting Sun, God of the Sun Setting

At the moment, Trym Godslayer is the guy who speaks for most of the tribe.
>>
>>25285357
The tribe has a pretty strong religion, actually, worshipping the many gods of the world around them. As yet however, their 'leadership' is more a mutual agreement of the heads of the various large families, that make up the tribe.
>>
>>25285400
Have we built them all proper temple and sub shrine for each? It would be best to keep the gods on our side.
>>
>>25285484
I believe so, yes, the shrines are pretty much a per-requicest. As far as temples go, I think only Chani has one, and that's because she has a proper holy spot to channel from.
>>
>>25285484
All of them have proper shrines. Building temples would take a while, seeing as how we barely understand how to build effectively with stone by this point.
>>
Thinking we should send out scouts. Just to see more of the world.
>>
>>25285521
Alright then I guess the grand temple can wait.

How about we establish a proper warrior caste? After that we could go on the war path and take new lands that way.

C. Gather wood

other, establish warrior caste. Better to have full time warriors and not need them.
>>
What tech were we working on before?
>>
>>25285618
We already have a proper warrior caste. The last time we went to war, we lost about half our tribe.
Fucking sun-cannon
>>
C) Gather resources Timber.

A) Send out scouts (North maybe?)

E) Have your wise ones try to make more efficient housing/Architecture.

Is my first thoughts. Then next turn throw a party.
>>
>>25285689
It's winter, so how about instead of sending out scouts, we organize a group to go send out the festival invites.
>>
>>25285852
Seconding this right here.
>>
>>25285852
I support this.
>>
>>25285852
That originally was my first thought. But I just got back to this quest so didn't notice it was winter yet.

C) Gather resources Timber.

B) Send some hunters out to hunt game and catch fish

E) Have your wise ones try to make more efficient housing/Architecture.

Look any better?
>>
>>25285945
seconding this
>>
>>25285945
Or tribe invites. Would honestly rather have a massive amount of more meat though. Because holy hell it will take a while before we are liked again.
>>
Despite the losses the previous moon, in bringing workable stone to the village, the heads of the tribe's families choose to use this moon to gather more timber, partly from the forest and partly from the pine stand, downstream. The icy and frigid conditions take their toll however and three more of the tribe are claimed by the merciless winter; one drowning, after slipping off a raft and striking his head, as the current pulled him under, while two more simply freeze.

The wise ones can see no immediate problems with the tribe's current housing and the tools and techniques available present no immediate improvements that may be made. Some propose the idea of using stone more extensively, but the prohibitive effort and time and cost in materials, disinclines the tribe to the idea. This is, of course, to say nothing of the fact that the tribe has never attempted such a thing before and has no clue on how to work stone in such a fashion!

In an effort to improve relations between the nearby villages, the Longfangs invite the River Brothers and Earthsplitters to a festival. The Earthsplitters decline, the relations between the two tribes still being rather strained. A few of the River Brothers arrive though and the music, food, the hurley games that emerge and especially the Longfangs' honey mead, are a great success!

I suggest we kill the river brothers who arrive and then set out to conquer there town. Huzzar. The quest is winding up after all.

>>25286419
I) Slay the visiting River Bros.
I) Head to the River Bros village and conquer the shit out of them.
I) Send an envoy to the earth splitters telling them that we have annexed the river bros and that we want a tribute payed to us or they are next.
>>
>>25286560
Also the river bros are drunk, they should be easily overpowered.
>>
>>25286560

Lets not until we have more military power. Right now we want to work on learning and eating. Such as figuring out a way to get these stone blocks in efficient scale. Or working on military doctrine. Since we are at the max housing right now.
>>
>>25286419
C. Continue gathering stone/whatever we actually need to finish the wall.

E. Its spring now, lets go find some flax with the help of the former spray folk villagers and look into how to turn that shit into clothing.

G. Send a few craftsmen to the former Lion Tribe and begin building that monument we talking about years and years ago. We haven't build it and we really need to. It doesn't need to be completed this turn, it just needs to finally get done.

I. Ask the priests if the Gods know where the hell our explorers are. It has been like 4 or 5 years now.
>>
>>25286848
I'm behind this
>>
>>25286848
And as I put my vote behind this, the idea of an empire is eternally forgotten.
>>
>>25286848
We do need to finish that bloody wall yeah. Not sure about the monument yet though.
>>
>>25286879
Not quite time to build a empire yet. We need something big to tip the advantage over to us. Like stronger armor or more efficient weapons. That way we don't lose men that quickly.
>>
>>25286848
The village's stock of building materials has been steadily growing, but now, it hits a sudden and abrupt stop in growth. The heads of the families simply cannot convince their people to move. after the winter accidents.

With the coming of spring however, some of the villagers, who spent their long sojourn with the Spray Folk, are sent to look for the blue flowers that were apparently essential in making the strange clothes the Spray Folk wear. Though none are to be found in the forest, a source comes from a most unlikely place...

A bold band of tribesfolk visit the former site of the Lion Tribe's village. There is little there now, to indicate that anyone ever lived there. Many among the tribe have expressed the desire to build some great edifice to the departed tribe, in honour of their memory. While exploring the former location of the village however, the scouts come across clusters of pale blue flowers, especially around where the cattle were once kept! The 'Strangers' are over-joyed by this discovery and set about harvesting the flowers, with great enthusiasm.

The party of scouts that left so long ago has long since passed far beyond the sight of the gods.

A. Send out another group of scouts in search of valuable resources and other such interesting things. This time send two carts, a couple more wolves and some devouts with instructions to return after a year. If they manage to find out what happened to the other explorers, well, even better. Since we've curbed hunting lately, lets ask one of Hrunti's priests to go, eh? Could be awesome!

G. After taking off an entire month, lets see if we can't work on the wall and perhaps get it done this month.

I. Have those craftsmen begin their work in earnest on that Monument. Already started, might as well finish. It will go a long way towards our Culture.

I'd suggest perhaps a pillar of clay faced with a skin of copper that tells the story of our too people. Nothing too fancy but it will look really good, I think.

Oh, free action, get any priests in the village to bless the exploration mission because we're going to need divine influence for that shizzle.

A half-dozen of Groaza's devoted warriors take it upon themselves to set out, once word starts to spread that the gods have no knowledge of the previous expedition. They take four female and two male wolves, along with a pair of oxen and carts. Drawing from the village's dwindling supplies of grain and smoked fish, for supplies, they set out, swearing to return by the year's end.

With the supplies gathered at such cost over winter, the wall is quick to be finished this moon, through the dedicated effort of all but a few of the tribe. The village is now surrounded by a deep ditch, rising to a steep, stone-clad wall, about as high as a man (plus the slope up from the ditch) and topped by a wall of sturdy pine trunks. It is an impressive defence; more so than nearly anything the tribe could imagine, short of a mountain range itself!

A small handful of the tribe's craftsmen set out and begin work on a monument, on the site where the Lion Tribe village once stood. A tall, shaved, pine trunk forms the core of the monument and around it is built a series of clay 'wheels', each left to bake hard in the sun, the copper plates pegged onto them, in turn being held fast, as the mud becomes stone. Copper etching is an art in its infancy, but still, some of the village's copper-workers, endeavour to record the tale of the two tribes, on the shining metal. It is a work that will take many moons to complete. Though the builders wish to call upon a god to bless the work, they can think of none appropriate, especially with Mikuhla absent and unable to offer the blessings of Ermetha, or Marnath; the gods the village considers most likely to suit the endeavour. Without a god's blessing, there is some debate as to what should be done and the tribe looks to its elders for advice.
