It's been some time since I ran this the last time, so let's see how this goes.

Previous threads:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Gigerworld

In this quest, you take the role of a big armed, friendly freak, who is currently adventuring with his lizard like friend Joey.

In the last session you finally reached the Yellow Bazaar. Your merchant friend Javak, and his steed Ivas took you straight to their base, the Golbax guildhall. There, you managed to trade some equipment and biogel for nice augs. After that, Javak took you inside the guildhall and there, you were placed in a nice little corner room, while Javak attended some business. You took the time to install the augs, and eat something. Unfortunately, Javak informed you that the people you had been planning on meeting could only see you the next day. Because of this, you decided to rest.

>How this works:
Suggest an action and the freak will act. I will try to illustrate it as well as I can. Certain actions will require 1d10 rolls to see if they are successful. There are also slightly more complicated rules for combat:

>Combat rules:

There are 4 stats, Health, Strength, Toughness and Agility. In addition, there is a "mana" bar, which gets reduced when abilities are used.

Attacks are handled as follows:
1d6+str+attack modifiers for attack strength.
1d6+agility for attack speed.

Attacks can be either blocked or dodged.
Blocking is 1d6+tou vs the attack strength.
Dodging 1d6+agility vs the attack speed.
In tie situations, the attack wins.

Damage is handled like this.
Attack strength - toughness of the opponent.

The "mana" bar also works as an extra health pool. Basically, depending on how full it is (Green=mostly full, Yellow= about half left, Red= nearly empty), reaching zero health has different consequences. If the bar is green, the freak can still fight or flee, but takes double damage directly to the mana bar. If it is yellow, the freak is incapacitated and if it is red, the freak dies or suffers otherwise grave injuries.

Standard combat goes like this:

>1st post.
The first freak chooses to either use an ability, item or attack. Then he picks his defencive stance (either block or dodge). Finally, he rolls the number of dices needed, for standard attack, the dices are 3d6 (1st dice attack strength, second speed, and the third to his defensive stance.) Some abilities may need different rolls, or no rolls at all.

>2nd post.
The repetition of the previous phase, for the opposing freak. Choosing between abilities, items or attack, and picking the defensive stance, and making the rolls.

>3rd post.
Resolution of the combat.

There are also some more rules for different combat things like grappling, which I will elaborate on if they become relevant.

Here is your current inventory:
>4 empty small containers.
>1 medium container with 1 and a half biogel dozes
>1 Pheromone package. (Strange syringe, aka aromaculi)
>Cutting tools.
>Improved walking eye bladder.
>1 ration package.
>Bone armor.
>Stalker's arm.

You are also equipped with a bone sword.

You have just woken up.
Joey is still asleep.
You are not sure how long you slept.

It seems that the bone plate you grafted to your left arm has merged with your flesh just fine.

What will you do?
>>
>>25338686
Oh boy. I've been waiting to join this for a while.
>>
>>25338686
Are we and Joey a couple, or just friends? Would he be interested in a relationship with us anyway?
>>
>>25338743
Search the room.
>>
>>25338697
Weren't you looking for suggestions on what ability our second fist armor piece would give us?

Also, why do we only get +1 Tou from the bone armor? I noticed it hasn't really changed ever since we added that first armor plate to our shoulder.
>>
>>25338743
Snuggle with Joey.
>>
>>25338758
Ech. We did enough bonding last thread. Time for questing!

There's that thing hiding in the corner near the treasure chest. Catch it.
>>
>>25338753

You are both the equivalent of children in the setting.
Joey was named by the players before they bothered to figure out her gender.

>>25338757
I was kinda unsure of how to handle the toughness bonus from small additions of armor like the one you put on the left arm. I am planning on handling it so that when you ad enough armor plates, the toughness goes up.
The plates on your right arm only ad 1 toughness, as they are only on your right arm.
If you guys have ideas on how to improve this system, feel free to share.

>>25338756
>>25338770

You spot the small freak hiding inside the strange looking table. Roll 1d20 to catch it. The highest of the first 3 rolls will count. Number to beat: 7.
(I am kinda experimenting on new roll systems. Feel free to suggest improvements.)

You just snatch him from his hiding hole.

This little freak might have a big imagination, or be one of the "untouchables" those who are too low in society to garner notice. Time for interrogation, then perhaps a snack.

Ask him what his "mission" is.
>>
>>25338896
We were vehemently against letting Joey snack on one of these guys; we're actually surprisingly quite gentle with them. Let's not be hypocrites.

Also. I can't help but suspect these little people are working as spies for that warlord guy who's recruiting gutterspawn. Just a feeling.
>>
>>25338909
our hearts have been harded by this world. still tough words hide gentile intent. we need to know the truth.

I'm not against interrogating him. Just casually snacking on him afterward.

You begin to interrogate the little bugger.

"What is your name, and what are you doing here, or i'll pop your head off with my thumb!"

The freak keeps trying to slip from your grip, but it's efforts are in vain.

"I will never submit! I would rather-" A small squeeze of your hand causes the thing yo yelp in pain again.

"No! I will tell! I am Jib! I serve Damos! Listen from shadows! You found us! I must kill you!"
>>
>>25338963
"Why must you kill us?"
If we can't convince him otherwise we might have to stomp on him.

Perhaps the girl can help?
>>
>>25338963
Have we heard the name Damos before? If not, ask who Damos is.

Also say you weren't planning on killing it, but after threatening you like this, you're reconsidering that decision.
>>
>>25338963
"Talk about Damos! What does he give you to listen, and what do you listen for?" hold tight onto him, and be ready to get scratched or bitten. Little bastard is probably gonna try to escape at any cost. See if we cant offer it a scrap of food, or even a single drop of biogel. With that small of a size it would be a feast. Perhaps if he is a simple creature we can buy his loyalty with snacks. fuck. it worked for joey.

You ask the thing why he has to kill you, and who Damos is.

"You found us! You will tell the other ones! Lady with a big stick will come stomp us! Make us into juice! Damos demands results! We must eliminate you! Damos is big! His boss is bigger! He sends us here to see what you do!"

>>25339035

"Damos trains us to be sneaky! He makes us big and strong if we are loyal! The ones who fail, get juiced! He gives us nectar drops! He is big and strong and scary, but he doesn't eat us! You tell the others, we get snatched and juiced! Tick will poison you when he gets the dart here! You and your friend will die!"

While the thing rants, you grab your biogel jar and put just the tip of your finger in it. Quickly, while the thing still screams it's empty threats, you drop the droplet in it's mouth.

The thing coughs and spits as the nectar falls into it's throat.
"-chkgh!.chgk What, drownnnn..."
The thing quickly spaces out, and starts to spasm lightly, as the biogel floods it's body. Soon, the little freak goes limb. It seems that the nectar has caused some sort of euphoric coma in it.
>>
>>25338818
Joey's more like a little sister than a love interest even though she's older.
>>
>>25339100
Put him in the chest for now and go wake up joey.
>>
>>25339123
No, wake up Joey and give the little guy for her to eat, she'll be happy with us then.
>>
>>25339100
Welp. That could have gone better. But at least we know he's got a friend with a poison dart.

>>25339123
The chest doesn't have a lock. Remember that other guy who escaped when we got off the chest to hug Joey during her tantrum last time?

Just keep him in hand. Or maybe in one of our small biogel containers; he seems like he'd fit inside.

Let's wake up Joey now and go explore the neighborhood. We don't know if we have permission to wander around the guild, but I'm sure it's alright for us to take a walk outside?
>>
>>25339155
Let's keep him around. If he manages to wake up from his coma, he might be mentally vulnerable and/or an addict to the biogel and willing to spill more information for even just another drop.
>>
>>25339100
We need to scout out the room for mr. poison dart, and find a good container for mr. spy. Stash him in with a little food too, keep up the interrogation when he wakes...or make a leash and collar out of some string!

we were told to sit tight, but I would recommend taking a peak out the window, and make sure there is nothing else in the room for things to hide in.

You decide to put the sleeping freak into a small biogel container, as you know from previous experience, that the box can't be locked.

You then go an wake up Joey.
She seems somewhat grumpy from you shaking her awake.

"..what iss it? Why aren't you sleeping?"
>>
>>25339198

>>
>>25339198
'Rise and shine! Breakfast is ready'
Hand her the biogel jar.
>>
>>25339198
"I need you to use your ears, check if there is anything around us. I was told there is a bad man with a poison dart out to get us!"
>>
>>25339198
Apologize for waking her up then tell her that one of the little pests wandering around this area may try to poison us. You don't like the idea of having one of these little things stab one of us with a poison dart during our nap, so ask her to use her senses to check if another one of these little things is skittering around the room.

Show her the one you locked up in one of the biogel containers. You accidentally made it fall into a coma, but if it wakes up, you plan on interrogating it for more information.
>>
>>25339242
He's already served his purpose in this story, and interrogating him doesn't yield any more information. However, if we eat him we'll gain his powers and abilities.
>>
>>25339254
this could either be a new party member, or a trade good as currency! We can raise him to do our bidding...infiltrate the enemy, and spy on them for us. All for delicious biogel and snacks.
>>
>>25339254
I don't think that eating works that way, but I agree that we should harvest the little guy for implants. Skin him and see what usable things are inside him.
>>
You apologize for waking her up, and tell her of the potential poison dart armed gutterspawn hiding somewhere. You ask her to utilize her improved senses to try to find it.

"If I find it, can I eat it?" She asks.

Roll 1d20 for Joey investigating if there is anything in the room. Highest of the first 3 rolls count. Number to beat, 14.

>brb, gotta take the dog outside
>>
>>25339263
He's an assassin tasked to kill us, so as a party member he would be pretty untrustworthy. We should use him as a trade good instead, separate him to useable components so we'll get better price for them.
>>
>>25339271
Sure, let her have it as a snack.
>>
Rolled 9

>>25339254
We don't actually get any powers or abilities from eating him? Just sustenance. And we're full.

And I doubt he has any implants we want.

Play it smart. It's not like he can escape from us. It's out of character for us to kill him unless we're pissed off and we do have grounds to be pissed off against him, so nothing stops us from eating him. But his potential as a source of information still exists and it would be foolhardy to ignore it.

>>25339271

>>
>>25339294
I seriously doubt OP has written anything more for the little guy, he's just a disposable NPC. We already got the infodump we wanted from him, we might just as well make Joey happy and let her eat him.
>>
>>25339298
I think it's actually the middle of the night? It's why Joey was confused as to why we weren't sleeping.
>>
>>25339308
Then why not wait? Why do you want to rush it? Is there any real reason why it has to be now rather than later? We won't even gain anything from it, since our tanks are full. We lose nothing by waiting until later to be sure that he's totally useless.
>>
>>25339308
Besides, she's a growing girl and tiny freaks are important part of a balanced diet. You don't want her to get freak scurvy, do you now?
>>
>>25339318
Joey's hungry, not us.
>>
>>25339324
eh, im sure if OP wants it dead, he will let us know. For now im going to explore coverting him to our cause. A tiny little fucker with a poison dart who figured out his old boss was skimping him on the nectar is a good ally to have. We could subvert this guy's information ring. Up and coming power!
>>
>>25339324
Same deal. Nothing is gained. She's not hungry. She's just used to constantly scavenging for her next meal. She admitted that she wasn't even that hungry after the tantrum she had last thread. We need to help her become more conservative.

And, like I said, we have the potential to gain SOMETHING by interrogating it.
>>
>>25339340
That's the thing, isn't it? I despise railroading and want to throw a curveball to the OP by making him scrap all his little guy related plots. Quests are good only when the OP has to think on his feet.
>>
>>25339359
I don't like small, plucky characters. Also, what I said in >>25339376
>>
>>25339376
It's a two way relationship, dear anon.

The QM doesn't make the story for us; we collaborate with him to make it together and that requires a certain amount of respect. The QM respects our decisions. And we respect the QM by picking up plot threads. We then choose what to do with these threads on our own and the QM molds the story around our actions.
>>
>>25339415
We respect QM by picking up plot threads and going our own way with them, in my opinion. Just chugging along the story the QM has laid out is boring, and ultimately waste of our and his time.

The thing doesn't even realize that it has been spotted, until you are right behind him.
The injector is too large for him, making it unwieldy and thus, easy to grab away from him before it does any harm.

At first, you ask what he was planning on doing with the injector.

"..I..I..It kills wall leeches! Yes, I come here to poison them!"

You reveal him that his comrade already revealed their plan. The little thing is visibly infuriated by the knowledge.

"The rotten bastard! I will make him pay! He ruined us! I will have his bones!"

You interrupt his furious ranting by demanding more information on Damos.

"A good soldier never squeals! Your threats and bribes won't do a thing! I will take my secrets to my death, like a loyal operator should!"

"Very well then, I guess that Joey will get her breakfast then." You say, while you casually move him towards Joey, who eagerly tries to grab him.

"No! Let's reconsider!" It screams. You pull him away from Joey, which causes some protests from her.

"Damos sent me! There are dozens of us, maybe more, all around! Brought from soemewhere else, not this place! We are taken by big ones, like you and the others! Put in bone boxes, and then Damos takes us and trains us! We need to hear the big one's plans he says, so that he can tell them to his boss! That is all I know! Damos doesn't tell us more! Just says that "Go there, sit silent in the shadows, and come back with what you hear!"
>>
>>25339667
Welp, we can't let them go since then Damos would know that we've spotted them. Kill them so they won't have a chance to escape.

While you continue to interrogate the thing Joey is growing quite impatient.

"Come on already! I wanna eat it! I am hungry!"

You try to explain to her that you should take the little freaks to Javak, so he could decide what to do, while stuffing the little, protesting, freak into an empty container.

This is an inhabited area. By going out and asking, we should be able to find Javak just fine.

Keep the little spy freaks alive for now up until we have been able to deliver all the information they have, but after that, we should really let Joey have her meal.

This is gigerworld - eat or be eaten. Ever think where the meat delivered us the previous day came from? Trying to play any moral high ground is useless, and these are clearly freaks (albeit small) that belong into a faction that's hostile to us.

You go to the reception so that you could chat with Sena. You do not encounter any other spies on your way there.
It seems that she is asleep.
>>
>>25340352
Ech. It'd be rude to wake her up.

Check up on one of the guards at the entrance then. Tell him that you need to find Javik.
>>
>>25340352
Check out her reception desk while she's away, there might be spies hiding in there.
>>
>>25340405
Joey would sense them if they were there.
>>
>>25340411
I just want an excuse to see her underwear.
>>
>>25340352
Check for small freaks, then check her desk for goodies, then finally wake her up, we have to be sneaky. quiet.

I hope the receptionist hasn't been poisoned by that little guy. We don't need an attack right now by "damos." If this is the start of an attack, we might be able to make our selves noticable

Sorry that this took this long.
I got distracted.

Anyways:

You and Joey lay low and begin sneaking around, in order to not to wake Sena up.
What will you search first?
>>
>>25341152
Search those pots on the right. People always leave shit lying around in pots. Money, weapons, potions, herbs, all sorts of stuff. Check them pots
>>
Rolled 20

>>25341217
And if we can avoid waking up the receptionist check those cubbyholes.
>>
>>25341152
MC cant climb, so you look in the pots, joey can search the desk as she is sneakier, also use her ears to make sure sena is alive too. kinda important.
>>

>>25341345

You and Joey snoop around the jars and cubbyholes, and find all kinds of strange things.
Bone tablets, leather scrolls, jars and things you can't really identify.
Joey also confirms that Sena is alive, she is merely just asleep.

I mean, they are our only potential allies at this point.
>>

>>25341656

You will be able to snatch some things, but the containers are pretty full of stuff. You need to prioritize. Also, the higher the amount you take, the more probable it is that your theft will be noticed.
What will you take, if you decide to steal?
>>
Where did everyone go?
>>
>>25341773
Probably not a good idea to nab anything then.
>>
>>25341986

Just take any biogel you see for now. We lost all we had when grafting.

Also take that paper. It looks suspicious.

You manage to snatch 3 small biogel containers.

You now have 7 small biogel containers. 4 of them are empty. Your total biogel count is 4 and a half.

What will you do now.

(am I updating too slowly?)
>>
>>25342245
You're doing fine.

Onward! Lets see find someone important enough to handle the issue of spies. And if someone asks how we got all this biogel, say we took it back from the little thieves. No one will know the difference

You decide to ask the guards at the door for where to locate Javak.
As you approach, one of them confronts you.

"Hey, who are-! Oh, you are one of Javak's servants? What are you doing here in this hour?"

You ask him where to locate Javak.

"Why should I know, I am just a guard. Ask Sena, she might know. She keeps track of most low level things going on around here." Says the guard, and points back to the reception chamber.

"Why would you even come to me instead of asking her?"
>>
>>25342386
I thought it'd be rude to wake her.

We probably wouldn't know yet if it's a bad thing or not for her to be sleeping at the desk, considering that we're only a few days old still.

"She isn't paid to sleep on that post! I keep saying her to keep to her shifts, and switch with Nga when her one ends! I have no idea why Sena keeps doing her shifts too.
Anyways, go wake her up if you have business with her!"
>>
>>25342554

Add a journal entry: "Who is Nga and what's going on with her and Sena". But do not pursue this yet.

I guess we'll go back and wake her up. Also warn her that the guard sounded angry that she's asleep
>>
Oh man Freak Quest!
I waited for yoooooouuuuuuuu.
>>
>>25342554
Lets go wake up Sena, and find out where javek is.

and OP, way to make us feel insignificant with that guard. He is huge, and we...are nothing.
>>
Why did we decide that stealing was a good idea? There might be a lot of stuff, but it's all owned by different people, so whoever those things belonged to is sure to notice that they're missing. And once they find out that we took them, that will severely sour our relationship with the Guild.

We're well on our way to finding something of a place in this world; we shouldn't risk it on impulse.

You tell her that you wish to see Javak, and about the little spies.

"Oh, I will call Javak here, but I wouldn't be too worried about those little things. They keep sneaking in every now and then. We keep catching them in the shadows and corners almost weekly. I think that Godal is currently investigating who actually is sending them, because whatever they call their master, is most likely a codename. In any case, it is good that you caught them, their poisons can be dangerous, if they manage to actually sting you with them."
As she speaks, she turns to the strange holes on the wall. She stretches her arm into one of the holes, and pulls out a small, tentacle like appendage, and gives it a rectangular bone plate, with strange inscriptions.

"That do. Javak will be here shortly. I would suggest that you two return to your room while he wakes up and gets here. I will direct him to you. You really shouldn't be wandering here at this hour."

(I got her size wrong previously. I also might need to end this session soon, as I got work tomorrow, and I need to actually sleep more than 5 hours. I apologize if this session has felt kinda pointless. I will try to kick the quest rolling again however. The Hiatus I had was pretty damaging to this, as I kinda forgot most of my plans, as they weren't really written down.)
>>
>>25343637
Apologize and ask her why she fell asleep.

Since, you know, she might have accidentally got pricked with some sort of liquid that made her fall asleep.

"..Don't you worry about my sleeping. Besides that, I was just resting my eyes. Nobody usually has business at the reception at this hour.."

She seems to be somewhat annoyed by your question.

"You should go back to your room. Javak will be there shortly. I am sure that he appreciates that you called him about this spy matter at this hour.."
>>
>>25343985
Well, apologize again for bothering her at such a time with something so minor, then get back to your room.

Might as well let Joey snack on the two little runts we snatched and have her go to sleep. We can stay up and apologize to Javik ourselves when he gets to us.
>>
>>25343985
Oh, and since you've got work tomorrow, you may as well end this session soon to get your sleep, man.

You apologize Sena again, and return to your room.
There, you decide to give the comatose little freak for Joey as a snack, before she starts complaining. It doesn't take long for her to eat the thing, and even less time for her to fall back to sleep.
You stay awake until Javak arrives. He seems kinda tired.

"..so..You had something you wished to show me, ..yeees?"

You apologize for waking him up over this matter, and tell him about the spies.

"No need to apologize..you did good. These buggers are like pests...they keep..sneaking in..I take the stinger and the live one you have to Fagar tomorrow..yees..he will do the usual interrogations and so on...You did good kid. Now go back to sleep..it will be hours before the Red orb rises again.."
>>
>>25344290

Anyone still here?
Does anyone want to ask Javak anything, or should I just end the session here?

I apologize if this session felt pointless. I admit that I grew kinda rusty at quest running during my hiatus, and that this was perhaps not my greatest session.
I will try to keep these in a (mostly) regular schedule from now on.

As always, ideas and input are welcome.
>>
>>25344290

Love Javak's face on this one.

>>25344572

I think this is a good spot to end for today.

Just, he says "live one". Does this mean that the unconscious one is left with us?

And if so. Store it for the night. We can eat it at dawn.
>>
>>25344572
Don't worry about it. It's better to quest when you're awake than to do a half-assed job when you're not in the mood. Deal with your own business, get your plans straightened out and all that.
>>
>>25344687
Joey ate the comatose one, so the one with you is the one with the stinger.
Javak said that he will take it to Godal in the morning.

>>25344701
I will try to make the next session better.

If anyone doesn't have any more ideas, I guess that now it is the time to just archive the thread, and go to sleep.

And it is archived:

Good night folks.
I hope that you found this at least slightly entertaining.
I hope to deliver something better next weekend, or the one before that, depending on if I go to the country side next weekend. It is summer after all here in Finland, and I would very much like to enjoy it too.
