"Not quite. You were really resisting going into your normal dream, so this is apparently before that." She explains, looking around. "Why is everything so blurry is the question."

"I don't really remember it." I answer, looking around. "I'm not sure if this is even real or just a sort of image I've painted as a placeholder for what should be here."

"You really don't remember?" Rider asks surprised.

"Well, no. I don't really remember anything from before the fire."

Rider stares into the distance for a few moments, before looking to me concerned. "... Shirou, what exactly is the dream I was going to help you with?"

"Almost every night, I relive what happened during the fire." I explain, walking down the road and glancing around. "Apparently there's a few details I've either been ignoring or suppressing that Saber noticed because of the bond we had."

Actually... there is circumstantial evidence for whether her Mystic eyes work in dreams.

In FHA, during the threesome dream, Rider always has her glasses on. That's not direct evidence of her eyes working or not in dreams but it does give credence to the idea that you do not look at her eyes.

Perseus got away with it because he was focusing on looking at her reflection and not her. I believe there are other reasons in play since the Shield was a Noble Phantasm but I suppose that will have to suffice.
