Your name is Hairy McTerrorcastle, student at the Fifth Circle Academy. A prospective Mage, you chose to specialise in the School of Summoning and Binding, learning the Art of calling entities from other planes into the Material Plane, and then Binding them to your will. The Magister of Summoning, Pythianne, a small, curvy woman in black robes with an overly excitable personality seems to have taken a shining to you.

Her Brother, Magister Vann of the Divination School gave you a friendly warning, although you aren’t sure if he was warning you to stay away to protect his sister, or warning you to stay away to protect you. Regardless, he at least helped you become somewhat better friends with your roommate Jaqul, so he can’t be all that bad.
>>
>>26569289
You’ve been practicing Bowie’s true name a lot, and you think you’re almost at the cusp of learning it. Bowie himself has informed you he’d be willing to make a Deal, and that is deal with a capital D, in exchange for the names of powerful mages. He is however, not interested in the names of Summoners, as the Infernal Plane is often already aware of Summoners. It’s the ones who don’t Summon they have a hard time learning of. You debated telling him the name of the Magister of Force Ranafiel, but for now, have held off making any Deals. You aren’t entirely sure of the moral implications of doing so, and a part of you doesn’t really trust Bowie to be all that upfront about it - he’s essentially a salesman in this regard.

Magister Pythianne has recently asked you to participate in an experiment - one where you will travel to the Entropic Plane once more, this time with her at your side. She seems very excited about this, and you can’t help but be excited too. After all, last time you Astral Travelled, you were naked.

“Do you have any questions about the experiment? You know, before you, sign the waiver and everything… I mean! It’s totally safe! We think. I think so, anyway. Nobody’s DIED Astral Travelling, but nobody really understands the Entropic Plane yet, and well, there’s a first time for everything, you know? Especially when breaking new ground! We’ll be the first dual-travel to the Entropic Plane! It’s never been done before!”

>Response?
>>
<3 Pythianne~

You scared me Archmagister, I thought something happened.
>>
>>26569295
We should find out if there are any known risks to astral travelling in general
>>
>>26569306
Just forgot to put Academy Quest IV in the subject line.
>>
>She seems very excited about this, and you can’t help but be excited too. After all, last time you Astral Travelled, you were naked.

Oh my...

Anyway, I think we should ask her if there are any safeguards in place, just in case something goes wrong.

>>26569355

"Um... seeing as there's a waiver is... is Astral Travelling usually dangerous?" She pauses her daydreaming to give you a surprised look.

"Dangerous? No, not really... I mean, physically. Some people go to some planes and come back with horrible mental scars, but that's why you should go to, you know, the Planes of Torment without being ready for well, Torment! The waiver's mostly for show, you know, just in case, because this is, well, an experiment, breaking new ground, you know?" She bounces up and down, causing some very noticeable jiggle.

"Can you imagine~?! Who knows what might happen!" She hugs herself, swaying on her feet. She is definitely very eager for the experiment.

"But, yeah, physical dangers? Not really. There's never been a known death from Astral Travelling."

>Response?
>>
>>26569565
>Shouldn't go, please ignore my typo.
>>
>>26569565
Is there going to be any bullshit legal stuff in the waiver? I don't mind waiving liability for damage specifically for astral planing in this experiment to the entropic zone, but that breast jiggle makes me suspicious.
>>
>>26569565
Alrighty, sign me up.
>>
>>26569565
I think we need to just look over the waiver real fast, just to make sure. If it looks all legit, SIGN THAT SHIT AND BEGIN THE EXPERIMENT
>>
>>26569565
"Can you imagine~?! Who knows what might happen!" You hugs yourself, swaying on our feet. You are definitely very eager for the experiment.
>>
>>26569646
Agreed, Hairy McTerrorcastle doesn't sign anything without looking it over.
>>
>>26569653
>"Can you imagine~?! Who knows what might happen!" You hugs yourself, swaying on our feet.

Please no, Hairy McTerrorcastle gets excited, but there's no need to act like Magister Pythianne. We need to act at least somewhat manly.
>>
>>26569565
nothing ventured nothing gained
NOW HAIRY MCTERRORCASTLE WILL BE IN HISTORY BOOKS!
>>
>>26569618
>>26569646
>>26569667

You read through the waiver. It's one page of short, legalese. Essentially, by signing it, you acknowledge that any harm that occurs to you during the experiment is not the fault of the Academy, and that you acknowledge all risks associated with the experiment in question. You sign away any legal right to prosecute or otherwise seek retribution against the Academy if the experiment goes wrong. You shrug. "

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained." You say cheerfully as you sign the waiver in flowing script.

Pythianne squeals, and hugs you abruptly. "I CAN'T WAIT!" After crushing you against her for a few moments, she releases you. "See you at twelve tomorrow for the experiment!" She practically skips back to her chair, waving her hands in idle motions, causing scrolls and books to flutter around and float to her desk.

>Anything else you'd like to ask her?
>Actions?
>>
"So would this qualify for 'extra credit?"

Or Hairy not the type to suck up?
>>
>>26569776
Ask her about Deals with summons and if she knows any honorable succubi.

If someone doesn't want to bother her about succubi that's fine, but if we're asking Bowie might as well ask Pythianne as long as nobody's against it. But I feel we should definitely find out more about Deals.
>>
>>26569776
The only thing I can even think to ask is if we need to bring anything for the experiment tomorrow ourselves or not.

When we leave, we may want to find a book or someone who knows more on Astral Projections for tips so we have less a chance to fuck up tomorrow
>>
>>26569838
I'm pretty sure we're already by far her favorite student in years, especially if her sleepy brother heard about us. I think doing the experiment should be for science and experience more than course credit.
>>
>>26569888
Fair enough, disregard my comment ArchMagister
>>
>>26569888
What this guy said. Hairy McTerrorcastle needs no extra credit, for he is already at the top of his class!
>>
>>26569776
Oh, lets ask if we can summon when we are in a different plane!
Maybe bowie knows something or would like to deal in any unique information we could find
>>
>>26569966
>>26569883
>>26569857

"About Astral Travelling... Is Magic still possible on a different plane? Like, say, Summoning?" She pauses and nods. "Well, yes. Magic is still possible on other Planes, but it may behave differently. For the purposes of tomorrow's experiment, please don't perform any Magic though."

You nod. Fair enough. Control the conditions and all that. "Should we bring anything else?" She shakes her head. "Nope! As long as you're here in the flesh it should be fine. I'll handle any other provisions we need."

You take a deep breath before your last question. Should you ask her about Deals with Summons, especially ones about the Infernal Plane?

>I believe last thread there was a bit of debate on whether to ask her about them or not. Has a decision been made?
>Response?
>>
>>26570027
I think it's a good idea to ask just to see if there's a policy in place on the matter. If we made a Deal and pissed off the school administration it'd suck.
>>
>>26570027
We should just ask, but lets not make mention of Bowie's deal.
>>
>>26570027
I say just ask nonchalantly, and say like:

>Bowie said something about some demons wanting something back; like a deal. He also mentioned succubi wanting different kinds of deals?
>>
>>26570027
I think we should ask about these Deals. The worst that could happen is that she asks why we want to know and we just flat out tell her you've been trying to get information out of Bowie.

Also enough with the Succubi we got the spell, lets wait until we can cast it before we get serious about this shit.
>>
>>26570080
Oh nicely phrased. Seconding this.
>>
>>26570027
Oh, what's the DC for an Astral Projection to the Entropic plane? We crit'd last time but if it's something absurdly high, can the Magister help us out with the roll?
>>
>>26570027
this>>26570080
including something like
You said Names are important for summoned creatures, does it work the same way for us? Do our names have any influence?
So we can know any magical repercussions of giving out names willy-nilly
>>
>>26570110
>>26570105
>>26570080

"Bowie was talking about some demons want other stuff aside from the Magic we use in the spell, like a deal or something. He also mentioned that succubi wanted different kinds then devils, and things like that. Not that I don't trust the little guy but... could you give me a bit more information?"

She nods cheerfully, sorting through her books offhandedly. "Well, Deals with Summons vary based on what Plane they're from, what kind of Summon they are and, well, the Summon themselves. Generally speaking, it's fine to make a deal as long as you know, you aren't giving them people's lives or something!"

You decide to ask her about Names. "As a side note, because Names are so important to Summons, do our names hold any importance?" She laughs idly, scribbling something on a piece of parchment and unfurling a scroll. "Our names? Not really. Knowing someone else's name doesn't give you any power or anything like that. Giving your name to a Summon makes it easier for them to be Summoned, if they want to be Summoned by you though. Introductions are important!"

So knowing the names helps the Summons decide whether they should answer a specific Summon. She didn't really touch on Infernal deals though. You get the odd feeling she's skirting around it... perhaps she doesn't want to give you ideas?

>Responses?
>>
>>26570138
>Honestly? The only way you were making it to the Entropic Plane the first time was with a crit. Now that you've actually been there, the DC is around 50 by yourself.
>>
>>26570229
If she's skirting around it, then she's deliberately keeping us in the dark, which means we have more than plausible deniability on the subject of Names and Deals. Our ass is covered, in my opinion.

In that case, unless someone else has a question, I think we can go back to Bowie if he's still around and try to finish learning his Name.
>>
>>26570229
I think we should push her a bit on Infernal deals. Don't want to play with fire and find out it's a lot hotter than we thought.
>>
>>26570327
why don't we wait post experiment?
She may be more comfortable talking about it afterwards.
>>26570317
Not sure about our ass being covered, she avoided the topic for a reason.
But we should learn bowie's name, so this
>>
>>26570269
Nice. So whats the next hardest plane to enter then?
>>
>>26570558
My guess would be the Celestial plane, lawful and all that.
>>
>>26570434
>>26570317

You decide not to push the issue. She's skirting it for a reason, and you'll let her have the reason. For now, at least.

You bid her goodbye, and head back towards the Summoning Chamber you were in. Bowie is waiting for you there, looking a little bored. "..."

He gives you an inquiring glance. "Just coming back to practice your Name." He makes a clicking noise and stretches.

"Krrr-k."

"Haztoraxifeliv."

It burns. Not like fire, but scratching claws... quills scrawling through your throat, dribbling ink on fresh wounds. Scratching words into the backs of prisoners, using flesh as a wall, a library.

You feel it burst through you, and he... shivers. "... Krr-kr. Almost thought you wouldn't make it, Krrr-ka. Now you know our name." He flutters in front of your face now.

>An improved version of Summon Imp, this Spell brings forth an Imp from the Infernal Plane and binds it to the caster's will. It's about mid afternoon, so you decide to head out for lunch. Haztoraxifeliv vanishes with a puff of fire. You're not sure what your friends are up to, but decide to head to the Cafeteria.

It is, predictably, full of various students and mages. Small, enchanted golems with eight arms mill about, delivering plates of food and glasses full of various drinks to the patrons.

You could take a seat with someone you know, or someone you don't know. Or sit by yourself.

>The Archmagister is sitting at a table, eating what looks like a steak. He's... wearing a dress. It's very glittery, and... is that make up? He... he looks like a drag queen.
>Magister Ranafiel is eating... a whole cow.
>Magister Vann is sleeping. On top of a table.
>Ariane is eating a salad and reading a book on Alchemy
>Drazeen and Lutharius are sharing a plate of cookies.
>Jaqul is by himself, nursing a drink.
>By yourself?

You sit with Ariane, placing an order with one of the passing Serving Golems for two steaks. You give the Archmagister a challenging stare at this. He'd probably accept your challenge, if he wasn't busy eating his steak.

Ariane glances up at you, and smiles. She pauses her reading to pull out a small, familiar notebook, and scribble a note on it.

"How are you?"

>Response?
>>
>>26571594

Would be cool, although I'm sure it's not alchemy so Ariane may not want to bother picking up the spell. I think it's definitely worth investigating if we don't already know IC.

"Really? Cool. I've been trying to get the hang of Axiomatic Ingrediant Matrices, and their use in determining the effectiveness of Foci relationships and... well, potion making. :P.

Magister Ahavans cancelled today's lecture because he fell down some stairs and had to go to the Infirmary, so I've been kinda bored honestly. What'd you do in Summoning? Something scaaaaary?"
>>

Wellll, I've been selected to go to Astral Travelling for an experiment.

You pause the devouring of your steak, to reply.

You tell her about Haztoraxifeliv, telling her about his name and how you learned it. You mention he taught you how to summon him better too. You ask her if she wants to see him sometime.

She giggles at you.

"Well... Alright! It sounds pretty cool! But I get to show you some of my potions later!"

Idly, you notice Ranafiel has finished his cow... and promptly walks right through the table. It crumbles before him, as if it encountered some invisible force field and he continues making a beeline out of the Cafeteria, and through a convenient archway. Everyone glances over before ignoring it, as some Golems move out to replace the table. The Archmagister is nowhere to be seen.

You know what, I like this Ranafiel guy. He just doesn't give a fuck.

Just like us, if you think about it. We're plowing ahead with absolute dead speed and fuck the police. Maybe Force magic would make a good secondary subject - we shouldn't rely totally on summons. It fits our personality, and it would make a good ace in the hole should we stumble upon a conflict.

"Ranafiel? He does that. It's Force Magic, I think. They remodeled the School because he wouldn't use doors. So, lunch first?"

>>
You know, I posted this in a QTG the other day, but I suppose it's worth putting in an actual thread.

I like our current approach. We're one part dedicated student, one part arrogant son of a bitch, one part anti-villian with hazy plans to conquer the known universe.

I see us as the sort of villain that is on a first-name basis with the heroes. Despite all the threats and grandstanding, we never quite get around to enacting our evil schemes or taking over the world. When the BBEG shows up, we fight alongside the forces of good, ostensibly because it's convenient and he's getting in our way. But in reality, we just like things the way they are, even if we'd never admit it.

Like Mojo Jojo, only more competent and a bit less bitter.
>>
>>26572374
But wasn't that like a brief mention?

But I see your point, we'll probably won't get any more info unless its from the sandman itself..
>>
Well let's finish lunch and if we're not hanging out with Ariane, let's go study astral projection.
>>
>>26572404

Yeah, I seriously doubt the Sandman calls himself that. It's a human label, not a name.

If we could summon something from that plane, though...

It could be good. Or it could be bad. Either way, it'd definitely be interesting.

>>26572414

I agree. Let's see if we can learn more about controlling the spell. I want to be able to turn it off, or activate some kind of defense measure, separate ourselves from the plane we're visiting, something of that nature.
>>
>>26572398
I say we drop by the library for some more in-depth research on the entropic plane, as well as necromancy.

You decide to head to the Library. More books can't hurt.

You head over to the Reception desk. The Library hasn't changed at all, and there doesn't appear to be anyone around. The Librarian is missing from his desk as usual, but the note to ring the bell for service remains.

Behind the desk, you can still see the vast swathes of shelves, brimming with books. You can't see any signs telling you what's contained on what shelf though.

You ring the bell, and close your eyes for a second. When you open them, the Librarian is staring at you with his wide, almost vacant eyes.

"Yes. Hello. Welcome." He whispers airily.

"... Can I get a book on the Entropic Plane?" Within a moment it's pressed against your chest. You don't even question how he's doing this.

"Thanks. Anything on Astral Projection? Specifically the dangers."

Two books. You can carry two more. You could probably ask him for one on Force Magic, or another topic you'd prefer. Perhaps History?

Maybe... dare you? Forbidden Magic?

The Librarian does not break his wide, vacant stare. "So um.. does it make a difference I bring the books back myself or just waited until the end of their loan period?"

"End of loan, books will be returned." He echoes. Right. That was... informative. Said nobody.

Sighing, you turn to leave. "Be careful who you dance with." You snap around to stare at the Librarian, but he's already vanished.

You decide to head back to your Dorm room, glancing at the books as you do so.

'The War of the Wizards' is the title of the History book, written by 'Historian Latian'. It's quite thick.

'The Way of the Force', the guide to Force Magic, with no author.

'The Diary of Magister Kaline'. You recognise that name - he was the Court Magister who first encountered an entity in the Entropic Plane. The Sand Man, he named him.

'Planar Travellers Handbook' - it's a very newly printed book, but you also recognise the author - Jackyl the Traveller. He was apparently infamous for Plane-hopping.

You enter your dorm - Jaqul isn't here, likely still eating. There's... a pair of letters. One on each of your desks, sealed with wax. You don't recognise the symbol though.

It looks like... five rings, each linked to another.

"We are watching. We are waiting. There is a tree, in the Courtyard. Be there by Midnight.

And we'll show you what Magic is really like."

It's not signed by anyone, and you don't recognise the handwriting. It's very... blocky? Like the author took great pains to prevent anyone from identifying them by the writing.

Jaqul received a letter as well. Was he invited to... whatever it is that's going on? You don't know.

The book is short, and sweet. It's a handbook after all. Whilst concise, it remains detailed. Jackyl is one of the most experienced Astral Travellers in History. He lacks information on the Entropic Plane, having referred to it offhandedly as a 'boring place not worth going to', as his time was before it became a place of interest.

You do learn of several other planes.
>Infernal Plane
>Celestial Plane
>Fire Plane
>Earth Plane
>Lightning Plane
>Wind Plane
>Water Plane
>Dream Plane
>'Divine' Plane?

The last one is one he believes exists, but has yet to enter. He frequently mentions he ghosts over a Plane that wells with power, but is unable to pierce into. He considered it his life's dream.

The Diary is written from the first day of his journey in the Entropic Plane, until quite a long time after. A lot of it is useless filler, but the parts with the Sand Man are interesting.

"... it does not speak. It never speaks. I once caught it trying to form a mouth... perhaps... perhaps it is learning? Trying to speak? It follows my every move still, almost like a dog. Watching me with those eyes.

I've begun to talk to it. I told it of the Material Plane, and our world. It didn't answer.
I found another fruit today. Are they fruit? I'm not sure. When I ate it, I heard a voice. It talked about a wife, and a marriage falling apart. It didn't know what to do. The Sand Man watched."

The rest are fairly much the same, with regards to the Entropic Plane.

Before reading the book on Force magic, you skip to the end of the diary. "This will be my last visit here. I bade the Sand Man goodbye and began to let myself return. It reached out, almost like a child. The desert wind whistled almost mournfully. Perhaps I'm just being dramatic."

Placing it to the side with your other books, you reach for 'The Way of the Force'.

... This isn't a book. It's just the words 'Be strong.' repeated over. And over. And over again.

Be... strong? That's it? That's all it says. You flip through the rest of the book - it's just those words over and over. At the very end though, there's a signature.

It clicks in your head. Force Magic is about exerting your will on the world. And if there's one thing you can do, it's exert your will on the world.

The perfect mundane cover for a young witch attempting to take over the world. Is the target of our flirting secretly brewing up a heaping cauldron of EVUL?!?

Because in that case, she's perfect.

>>26574930

I agree. Pythianne may have large tits, which is an important consideration, but I see her as a bubbly friendly teacher and mentor, not a love interest.
>>
>>26574945
Pythianne's not a quiet one by any stretch, and her brother is just wary of us because he loves his imouto.

>>26574930
Revolutions happen when the ruling class is turned against itself. Every time. The underclass never raises itself up successfully against the upper class.

Personally I just think Pythianne's a cutey and I like her sincere enthusiasm.

Grab dinner, return back to room, study force magic until 9:30pm
>>
>>26574992

Operation Anti-Villain commencing.

Our master plan: publicly, she shall be second in command of the McTerrorcastle forces. Privately, our sultry fire-headed sex toy!

Phase 1: Bring her flowers, and take her out on a romantic date! All the evil villains do that!

You decide to grab dinner. Heading down to the kitchen, you find Lutharius is cooking some sort of stir fry. Drazeen, Jaqul, and a student you don't recognise are sitting down at the tables, talking about nothing.

You take a seat with them, greeting them as you do. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Ezekiel. Abjuration." He says calmly, holding out his hand. You shake it.

Jaqul hasn't been in his room yet and hasn't seen his letter. Deciding discretion is the better part of valour, you opt not to ask anyone if they received one.

Lutharius turns around and grins at you, doling out a few plates of stir fried meat and vegetables. "Jeez, I was wondering if you were going to come out of your little cave." He teases lightly.

"What have you been working on?"

"Oh, I studied a little bit about Summoning."

>Tell them you know Force Magic?
>Tell them about the Letter?

>Brag about force magic.
>Hint at there being something waiting for Jaqui back in the room he might want to check before going to bed. Try to do this low key and when the others are distracted by eating/conversation if possible.
>>
>>26575084
I can't say I don't like the planned direction for Hairy McTerrorcastle.

[spoilers]Although a little part of me wonders what adventures you would've gotten up to if the option to call yourself 'Elizabeth' and be a crossdresser had won...[/spoiler]
>>
>>26575116
Tell him about our force push, but not too much. For we are padawan, and bragging leads to an unjust ego.
>>
>>26575116

Share our insight into force magic. Have a good laugh about how we beat up our pillow with telekinesis.

Evil villains need friends, of course. All the most evil villains do that sort of thing!

Then just shoot the shit. Nothing like meaningless conversation for male bonding. Maybe mention the hot chicks we've seen around the halls, our professor's prodigious rack, etc.

Ask Jaqul how he's doing. Guy seems distant but I felt like we were making some inroads earlier.
>>
>>26575116
>Retreat to your room and make some excuses

Right now they don't know we have any Force magic, better to keep it that way as long as possible in case something happens. Loose lips sink ships.

You talk about your recent foray into Force Magic. Lutharius seems impressed, the others less so (but undeniably impressed). When the others settle into mild conversations, you offhandedly mention to Jaqul that someone left something on his desk. He nods quietly, and you decide to ask him how he's doing.

He's your roommate, and apparently a fellow invitee to the secret club of secrets.

"I've been... good. Illusions is nice. Yourself...?" He seems a little distracted. You make idle conversation for a bit, before everyone retreats to their rooms.

"So... wanna compare letters?" You hold up yours, as he reads his own, looking faintly surprised.

He thinks it over a brief second before nodding. They're identical.

"... Do you know what tree they were referring to...?" He mutters, looking at it a bit closer.

You know of a few trees in the Courtyard, but they didn't specify. "... Maybe it's a trap?" You say, throwing the idea out.

Jaqul scratches his chin. "... I'll hide us." He mutters. Illusion magic. Handy dandy!

"Really? Top student of Summoning... do you think it's just the Top students?" He shrugs. An idea strikes you though. Ahazi's All Seeing Eye! You can summon that!

"Well.. I can summon an Eye, and use it to spy on the area before we leave."

He raises an eyebrow at you but nods. It seems you have something a plan.

You decide to visit the Summoning Chambers before Curfew. You have two hours, so it's an easy trip. You tell Jaqul where you're going, and that you'll be back, and he nods lightly, absorbed in a book.

You don't pass many people on your way there, and Summoning Chambers themselves are mostly empty.

You make it to Magister Pythianne's office and knock on the door. It swings open automatically. She's still surrounded by tomes and scrolls, and glances up at you, for once not bouncing with excitement - it appears even she gets tired. Eventually.

"Oh... oh! Hello... did you need something?"

"I just wanted to quickly summon something. Did I disturb you?"

"Oh! No, no, it's fine. What'd you want to summon?"

>Ahazi's All Seeing Eye

Flouting summoning regulations endangers everyone on campus. It's a good rule.

I think the eye is a good idea and if we can get a chance to summon before curfew, we should do so.

You make it back to your dorm, and show Jaqul the Eye.

"... Impressive." He mutters, examining it. It's essentially, a floating eyeball. Not much to see, but still kind of cool. He mutters something, waves his hands and the Eye shimmers and disappears.

"... Your turn." He says quietly.

You send the Eye out to the Courtyard. It's quite bare right now. The student who was at the Tree is gone, so you decide to investigate it. It's weird, moving the Eye up and down, but you get the hang of it quickly.

There's... a small engraving, near the base. It's the same one as the seal on your letters. You move the Eye down further... you think this is the Tree. There's a small, hidden trapdoor at it's base.

Sneaking out as carefully as you can, you head over to the tree in the Courtyard. You get his attention, and show him the trapdoor. Opening it quietly, you both slip down.

It's a surprisingly spacious room. It's full of couches, chairs, all sorts of comforts. There's a few doors to a few other rooms and a... mask, hanging on the back of a particularly high backed chair.

You point the Eye at the trapdoor to spy on people. You move over to the other doors to try and explore but find them all locked.

Shrugging, you move over to study the mask. It's a plain, white domino mask, with the Symbol of the Secret Club on the forehead. You can't move it though.

"Hey, I got an idea... can you hide us with another Illusion Jaqul?" He blinks at you. "We'll surprise everyone!"

He blinks at you before shrugging. Sure, why not, Castle's crazy, might as well play along. He mutters and waves his hands, and you watch as you both melt into invisibility.

You watch silently as two students enter, one after the other.

The first one, a tall, muscular male, plops down into a couch with an aura of arrogance.

The second, a petite looking girl almost floats in. The first boy makes a crude pass at her, but she doesn't seem to notice. Or care. She stands surprisingly close to you, but otherwise doesn't seem to notice you're here.

Then Lutharius comes in, looking unsure of himself. "Hey." He says softly to everyone, plopping down into one of the couches. The first male snorts at him. "Fuck off, bitch."

"Hello." The petite female nods in his direction though.

Then Ariane enters silently, looking about unsurely. The first man leers at her, but she edges towards the other girl.

Without warning, the Mask seems to move forward, a figure seemingly melting from the wall. The person is cloaked in thick black robes that obscure every detail of them, and examines each of you, even you and Jaqul, in turn.

"Allow me to welcome you to the Fifth Circle."

The other students seem a little startled. Lutharius opens his mouth to ask a question, but the Masked (Wo)Man holds out a silencing hand.

"Questions will be answered in due time. You are selected for not only your potential... but your willingness to go further then what is... accepted."

The figure points at the muscular boy. "Or did you think nobody noticed you reading on Destruction Magic?" His finger shifts to Lutharius. "That nobody saw the books you borrow on Blood Magic?"

He turns to Jaqul's hidden spot. "Or that nobody would hear you practicing Domination on rats in the night?"

The Mask seems to melt into the robes and emerge from the other side, his finger now pointing at you. "Or your attempts to barter with an Infernal denizen...?"

The Illusion shatters as he points at each of you, surprising the other members of the group. "Illegal potions and elixirs." The finger turns to Ariane. "And... Necromancy!" It finally points to the last member of the group.

The entire group settles around uneasily, not sure what to make.

"... Do not be alarmed. You will not be punished. The Fifth Circle Academy has always existed to educate, but it's true purpose has been for us. The Fifth Circle. Did you think it got it's name because it sounded fancy?" It shakes it's head.

"The Fifth Circle nurtures Magic as Magic should be nurtured. Unrestricted. Unbound. We chose you, to join us. We offer you Power, and in return... all we ask is that you take it." It holds out a hand, letting magic coalesce into a small ball before shattering when it clenches it's fist.

>And that's it for now folks!

Muscles is going down. He needs to learn who the leader of this wolf pack is.

On a more pleasant note: Yay lutharius and Ariane are in this too! Now we have 3 minio- friends in the group!

Hoo boy, dropping us into the middle of a giant extortion/blackmail scam right at the end of the session. Now I got something to think about for a few days. See you Wednesday OP.

I'm just happy that Ariane is as adventurous as us. Also apparantly deals with internals is actually a bad thing, also look into these magic things try mentioned, especially domination and destruction.
>>
>>26577587
>Also apparantly deals with internals is actually a bad thing
Like that's going to stop us though. We just need to figure out how we were being spied on.
>>
>Haztoraxifeliv(?) [68% towards learning the Name]

Still says that in the pastebin
>>
>>26577587
>Also apparantly deals with internals is actually a bad thing

This is the only big surprise for me this thread. Heck, we even asked the teacher if it was ok! The only rule we broke was staying out late to come to this meeting. I mean, making deals with powerful creatures is kind of the appeal of summoning!
>>
>>26577780
So it does.
>>
Also, are we going to get a bonus to summoning Bowie for knowing his name 100% now?
>>
>>26577793
I'll give you one. +5 but only on him specifically.
>>
>>26577819
Cool beans
>>
>>26577784
There's some funny stuff going on, especially since we only talked about making the deal, we didn't actually do anything. Nobody at the meeting actually broke any rules, or the school would have known and stepped in.

Like you said, for us in particular we asked a teacher and got if not a green light, then at least no red light. Lots to think about.

Also, Archmagister, Summon Imp 2 isn't listed in the pastebin as far as I can tell.
>>
>>26578028
Whoops, thanks for pointing that out.

Who said anything about breaking any rules? Or for that matter, that the School is not in on this?[/spoiler
>>
>>26578127
Exactly. Nice setup. I'm going to save my speculation for Wednesday but this is a very interesting little sekret club you've got going on.
>>
>>26578127
Also I think our Force should be 34 now, from >>26575765
>>
>>26578127
>willingness to go further then what is... accepted."
Well, it's always the question of being accepted by whom. However, summuning inferals is clearly accepted by the school. Interacting them is therefore equally accepted and was even encouraged. And when we asked our teacher Not that she could ever be a guide to what is normally accepted. she seemed be more than happy that we contemplated a Deal.

You know what. The teacher clearly doesn't know what's considered right or wrong. They point stands that we have so far never intentionally done anything that is not accepted. We didn't even unintentionally do such a thing as we haven't made any deals yet.

Wouldn't it be funny to become a powerful member of the club for amoral wizards without ever actually doing anything amoral?
>>
We should see if Bowie knows any force magic sometime.

And give him the name of everyone in this room.
>>
>>26578331
I'll vote against this. Giving him the names of some of the student is acceptable though. None of our friends though.
>>
>>26578331
>everyone
Mask dude, force dude, and maybe creepy necro girl.

This is clearly some kind of manipulation attempt. I'm just wondering how deep the rabbit hole goes. Are the magisters in on this? Probably. It might even be a test to see who's blindly power hungry and who's just curious and extra motivated.

As it is I think our faction is a majority of the group right now. There's a chance here to turn the group to our own purposes and hijack their intelligence gathering system. They obviously have ears at the summoning rooms and an eye on everyone's library record.

One interesting thing is Lutharius being top dog of the general magicians. It'd be interesting to see how he is with Summoning. We should hang out with him more.

My main concern is the spying on us. I do not like that.
>>
>>26578415
But Pythianne said that they can't fuck people over just by having their names. If they could do bad stuff to people by just having their names, way fewer people would do summoning.

But if it's no friends at all for whatever reason, what about the muscle asshole that hit on deaf girl and called Lutharius a bitch?
>>
>>26578466
If we're going to give away names of friends, we should ask them if it's cool first. Just courtesy. Although we're not even through our first month yet, so the demons probably won't be too interested at the moment.
>>
>>26578466
I didn't mean this because of direct harm from giving away their names. Their names give away an unique identifier that let's infernals find out more about the humans. Those things could lead to harm.

I'm just too careful to give away our friends' names even if there is only a slim chance of it causing harm. After all, there are plenty of other names we could give away. Like the muscle asshole.
>>
>>26578127
Might I suggest you make a new pastebin for updates? That way archive readers could still use them.
>>
Anybody else find it funny that reading that "BE STRONG" pamphlet and a bit of short study got us 34 Force while we're still at 27 summoning?

I mean, yeah, we have some perks that push our summoning to 32 for infernals, and 37 of Bowie specifically. And we have more spells and even just Bowie alone is probably better than TK that maxes out at 34lbs.

But still. It's kinda funny considering how much more work was put into summoning.

Unless Force is one of kinds of those skills that's easier to train, but has less application / requires more levels to do things or whatever.

Ehh. Just rambling at this point. Loving the whole possibility of telekinesis and demon summoning. Hopefully we can start using TK for everyday things and pick up some perks for force and complexity.
>>
>>26578725
Or we could just copypaste the pastebin to the thread at the end of every thread.

Considering that people will want to read the pastebin at the BEGINNING of threads that doesn't seem very helpful. Sure, it would be better than not having old pastebins preserved at all, but that isn't saying much.

Also making a new pastebin is way easier and faster than copying it into the thread.

>>26578730
From what I have gathered all our current boni are still really really low. I mean, those are the kind of boni we get in the first week of several years. In this light, having an insight grant a bigger bonus then a couple of days of study seems entirely reasonable.

I also expect that it will become far harder to gain boni soon. Considering that we need about 50 points to reliably summon the lowest level creatures we will also probably have a hundred points or so at the end of the year.

This of course relies on the DM not being the kind of faggot that wants this to run on super easy mode like 95% of the quests. I mean, with our current amount of rolls we will get like 2 crits per thread or so, each gave us a massive bonus.

I just realized that the MC is probably a Mary Stu like every other Quest MC. Shit.

Those three posts stay that way until the archives all break down.

That link will not display the same info as in those three posts once the next thread hits if Archy keeps using a single pastebin for the quest. So just linking the pastebin is worthless for archive readers

And it was only marfinally more difficult. I had to ctrl+c and ctrl+v three times instead of only once.

http://pastebin.com/aEfAsXNX is the link in the OP.
http://pastebin.com/UvnBjEpL is the link I just posted.

It takes 2 clicks to make a copy of a pastebin.
