Frankly you’d like her to wake up right about now because this new situation is a complete nightmare, it was probably inevitable the very moment Athena consumed this talisman to unleash the obvious signal that, at first, looked like a distress signal but now you aren’t so sure, the timely intervention of Zipangu reinforcements as well as the decreasing intensity of the Church agent in the immediate area make it feel like you are right in the middle of some potential rallying point.

Fat loads of good that’s doing right now, at the very least those strange adventurers pursuing Mylen have been caught up by the advance but you doubt they’ll become a non-issue, you only saw two of them, a light armored young man and a strange individual in uselessly large hat, they both already disappeared into the forest, leaving your little area free of interruptions as the clash o battles resonated anew, they’ve probably been joined by a group of Inquisitors already…

Mylen Shieffer growl is a perfect statement to her current feeling; fury, rage, hatred and a strong sentiment of revenge all mixed into a dangerously potent mixture ready to blow, your raven haired bodyguard has already pointed her half-bent spent toward the succubus and taken a defensive stance, putting her shield forward that immediately activate, causing a soft buzzing of magic that you’ve known to understand very, very well.

The wings at her hips also flaps strangely before completely stiffening while furling up, all the while the usually expressionless and contained woman let out one long harsh sigh in between clenched teeth.

Mylen furious threat seem only to amuse the sitting succubus, the gal seem truly at home inside the chaotic peace of the battlefield as the trees, bushes and branches warped under her corrupted aura, big, black disgustingly forged roots cascaded up and down the vegetation around her to form a makeshift throne of thorny vines, how she managed to sit on that without bleeding out is a completely mystery…

However Wilmarina Noscrim most certainly poses a striking allure, sitting like a queen, deploying her set of hip leveled slightly dented and horned leathery wings wide enough to be embraced by a few of the corrupted roots give you the impression of a Demon Lord better than Daiyu ever did; small alarms bells are ringing in your hear as the vision of the Fallen Maiden bring a strange, short lived bout of nostalgia that you force away relentlessly as you can’t afford to be lost in dream.

The cream-skinned succubus speak with clear overconfidence, however, you hear a strange humid sound that remind you of the few times you stepped the disgusting half melted snow of the capital city, a humid crunch resonate quite clearly behind Wilmarina followed by a quick burst of corruption as her back was struck by black tar, which quickly hardened into 4 elongated, limbs of chitin very reminiscent of spider legs; an extremely pointy tip and flexible nature allowing for quick, efficient and deadly thrusting; they literally spawned off her back like some kind of parasite while projecting enough magic to make you understand that they MUST have some other functions, and, at her right side, a little black portal happened for a bastard sword, which the succubus grab one handed in her sitting position

Mylen is interrupted by the orb, the girl retreat in a diagonal backward jump to properly get out of the way will the Fallen Hero let out a grunt, unable to escape your strike and lunge one of her chitinous legs into the ball, which immediately absorb the strike and explode, redirecting the entire deadly liquid upon Wilmarina who quickly shield herself, the brunt of the strike falling upon the rest of the corrupted chest legs, next, come a few deadly spike launched with the speed and penetration of crossbows bolts, the sudden strikes quickly force the Succubus behind a tree… which is skewered by the spell.

With a great shower of splinter and cascade of wood, three ice spikes lodge themselves into Wilmarina back.

Offensive two = Concentrate on the ground, close in on your foe in order to put her in your zone of influence where you have the advantage, your objective will be to attack her with an omnidirectional strike while denying her movement as Mylen close it to keep her in place.

The very ground morph into a glistening ice line of magic standing above ground, prompting your bodyguard to jump on it and get pushed by magical inertia as she somehow keep her balance, sliding toward a now thoroughly surprised Wilmarina immediately put on the offensive when your bodyguard tilt her head; allowing your ice pike to pass so close, it actually cut a few strands of hairs and crash upon her forms as her right wing act as shield, the entire charge take a whole two seconds, Mylen jump from the magical soil and thrust her spear toward the maiden neck, her weapon is, however, mercilessly cut in two by the succubus downward slash, prompting your bodyguard to slam her shield across her face and activate the magic which would have broken the neck of any mortal, unfortunately Wilmarina use the inertia to land a glancing hit on Mylen face; your bodyguard somehow deduced the kick and evaded it, just like how she retreated by jumping back AND crouching at the PERFECT angle for your next two spells, namely another acidic orb and a spike, to lend upon the Heroine who, much to your regret, manage to shield herself with her wings…

Next come a short lived fight, the white-haired succubus strike forward as her additional limbs fall apart, somehow smiling with confidence despite being hard pressed, her strike are dizzyingly fast and absurdly strong, creating after shock of wind as the gravity itself around Wilmarina slow Mylen movement, who as always, manage to dodge at JUST the right time, as if she deduced the strike…

Mylen obviously possess some form of battle precognition.

But it’s not going to help against an overwhelming foe, the aura of gravity around the succubus make you renew your efforts and she somehow strike away your invading spells with her wings as she rotate her swords in a half-lunar attack that briefly slash into Mylen side as she tries get her sword out, her magical artifact need a few more seconds to renew itself…

Then you manage a lucky strike, As Mylen ducked through another orb of acid which exploded before hitting Wilmarina, you snuck another projectile that skewered her solar plexus, eliciting an obvious scream for the gorgeous woman but, there’s something much, much more interesting in the background…
You spot a brief gleam of green scales sneaking in the underbrush.

One= reckless offense, Mylen press her foe as hard as she can while you concentrate on a few, deadly strikes; a tried and true strategy, peppering Wilmarina with too much spell might make it impossible for Mylen to Maneuver.

Two = Hammer and anvil, here, Mylen will attack and keep her foe busy but concentrate on evading your attacks as you literally try to cast through her.

Three= the suicidal charge, here, you go all out with area of effect spells that are impossible to evade properly, Mylen knows how to fend for herself but will continue to attack in order to keep the foe pinned as you close in to get her in your Sphere of Influence.

’Offensive Two!’’

You bark as Mylen recover, Wilmarina upper is effectively skewered by 4 larges spikes and she’s still going strong, at least that’s how it seem to be as the blood flowing down her body is black and gooey and only a very small amount is leaking from her mouth, although the woman has obviously grown very, very displeased.

Mylen immediately spring into position, which in turn provoke Wilmarina to smash her sword in a diagonal downward swing that would have skewered Mylen wing if not for her shield, the magic of course, activated and propelled the Fallen Heroine weapon skyward, a normal humans would have suffered fractures though that incredible force but of course, a Hero cannot pretend to work like a normal person, however this left her open…

Mylen lunge with her sword and graze the protected wing on Noscrim belly, then immediately abandon her sword and jump backward in a crouch as the second horned wing thrust toward her neck and miss by less than an inch, cutting the gorgeous raven haired of your bodyguard which immediately grow back due to the Fae curse.

Next, the ball of acids lands square on the fleshy wings, exploding in a concentrated shower and skewered by a pain of spikes which sneaked right in the momentary damage… that in turn exploded in localized shrapnel’s, goring the gorgeous wings and provoking an angry scream of pain followed by an awkward horizontal slash, which was expertly dodged by your bodyguard and counterattacked by a slash in the underarm…

Then, Wilmarina Noscrim stops playing around.

A foul raw tide of corruption well up inside the woman, her previously red eyes turn jet blacks as tears of inks fall down her gorgeous face, staining her creamy skin like leaked mascara, the aura of gravity around her strengthen just like the Demon Lord, causing some old twigs and branches to crackles under the weight and Mylen to grunt as she retreat, your following spike that was meant to skewer the woman forehead drop to the middle of her chest… but you make it explode as you realize it wouldn’t have been able to pierce the skin, numerous, razor sharps piece of ice fall and imbed themselves on her frontal body instead, utterly ruining her useless clothing.

‘’Nice! I wanted to play nice! Why must you be so…Rrrngh!’’

Next, a tidal wave of black goo sprout form the ground, staining absolutely everywhere in front of her as you spawn large magical shields in front of you and Mylen who, of crouched very low to avoid the brunt of the strike, the liquid penetrate the soil and poison the dirt, turning the very terrain into a momentary slimy mud and of course, Wilmarina flaps her wings…
And get struck by a crisscross of scythes right in the middle of her chest, spared from a double amputation as she was holding her blade in another high guard.

It would seem that this very annoying gravity aura was only active in front of her, the fact she took to the air saved her life, but didn’t prevent Sylphis from holding on, violently get one of her scythe out and aim downward, right into the vulnerable membrane of the wing, causing a clean amputation and the two of them to fall violently, but the light Mantis was sent sprawling back in the vegetation as a torrent of black goo struck her clean in the face.

Mylen immediately charged forward, sword held in one hand and ready for the finishing blow, the long raven hair flowing behind her remind you of the cape of the Great Death itself but, the heroine seem to have panicked; a ring on her third finger light up and she jump into a tree, bleeding profusely from her grievous wounds.

‘’nonononononononono… My love, my love...’’

She repeats, blocking the thrown sword with her remaining wing as Mylen scream in rage.

You could aim for her hand… [1d20, hard DC]

Or do something else, the sudden corruption was highly likely to have been felt by the entire forces of the two factions; you don’t have much time to act.

Do make Noscrim's final moments tear jerking if at all possible. They are tragic villains, corrupted, robbed of their humanity... Their dark deeds are not a thing they would have done as humans. All they wanted was to be held in the arms of the one they loved. Deruella took that, twisted it, and turned them into monsters.

I do see this turn of events as quite Ironic for her. In the end, it was her who set these chain of events into motion. By her hand, the beast was implanted within us. Through it, we freed Mylen of her corruption. Because of that, she was here along with us.

The G-Man said it best. The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. Because of her, we were that man. She'll hate us for this, but she'll also hate herself because well, she's smart. She knows what she did and how all the pieces fell into place in just the wrong way for her.

If only we could see the scene when she hears the news. Her Trusted advisor demanding she stop her orgy for he has dire news. Noscrim has fallen in battle, felled by a Fluid Magus, a Magic Shield wielding raven-haired maiden warrior, and a Mantis-type monstergirl. She'll curse us, and herself, for this. She cares, in her own twisted way. Much like Pic related in my head. Finally, we make the antagonists have a taste of the suffering!

You can’t let such an enemy go away, no matter how worried you are about Sylphis, there’s no doubt that Wilmarina severely underestimated you and now, she’s paying the heaviest of price, you don’t wait for Mylen to get her sword back, you simply focus on the shattered woman clutching her hand, the magical ring letting out an obvious sign of distress and her words changed, now a constant ‘’save me save me save me’’ is hear in a soft, whimpering murmur…

The aura of gravity has grown around her entire body, making your job that much more complicated, you know very well that your projectiles will stray off course the moment it enter the invisible bubble and her remaining wing act as an effective shield, however…

A shrill, animalistic cry resonate from her perch as a new set of limbs sprout from her back, the…things looks downright alive as they start shaking, producing a sound that remind you of a retreat bell, albeit much, much more annoying, filling the entire area and confused battlefield with a clear, total sentiment of extreme distress but that also force you to act.

First, you literally overwhelm the instinctual defenses of Wilmarina with a staggering amount of spells, cheap spike clangs against her body and defenses, prompting the poor girl to ball up and clutch her hand, revealing her weak flank thank to Sylphis efforts, you completely forget your position, where you are and your objectives to concentrate on this.

One.

Spell.

A twisted, spike infused with enough magic to shatter the very raw of reality itself, a simple, overgrown, supercharged projectile meant to conquer Wilmarina body, to project itself in a true manifestation of your will and shatter the succubus completely; the head is protected by her wings and even a pointblank shot is unlikely to kill her, fingers are much more vulnerable…

The very air around your sphere of influence grows cold, snow start falling gently upon the corrupted, muddy soil, slowly icing over the ground as your spell literally mold the canvas of the world, your will, as son of Mother Earth, conquer the precious world she keep balanced and alive; in these two meters you are King, in these two meters you forge a masterpiece, in these two meters you will kill Wilmarina Noscrim, the Hero that underestimated you…
Then a voice sneaks into your concentration.

‘’Siegfried, get the jade out!’’

Daiyu Jawahir demand is not one you care to refuse, you get the precious jewel out of your pocket and immediately upon contact with the outside air, the black jade pump like a living heart in your palm, and you clutch it firmly and launch your attack.

Amidst the useless blunt spells bouncing against her body, Wilmarina is oblivious to your supercharge projectile that, on its way to the target, ice over the very world around it before transformed corruption and plants into pure, simple water, reversing reality to imposes your will upon this dear, dear earth.
Then an utterly unpredictable chain of events occur right as your spell was launched.

A crackling of thunder as well as an explosion of magic, followed by the jade growing hot and vibrating, caused an utterly confusing mess of a magical clash, creating an invisible shockwave of pure, raw magic that sent strange tingles down your fingertips, an event likely felt by every mage of the area.

A tearing in the sky opened beside Wilmarina, a portal you remember very, very well as Tsukiyomi created the very same, albeit hers was a golden color, here, the tear is jet black with tint of reds; it immediately start opening… then…

That was when the vibrations of the jade started, a crackling dark projectile reminiscent of thunder clashed right in the middle of that portal and cause it to suck its magic back in yet…

A pair of feminine hands grasped at the very fabric of magic itself and –pushed- the tear open and that was when tragedy finally struck.
How the careful, competent and slightly timid Wilmarina Noscrim of Lescatie managed to underestimate an opponent so much will never be known, in her state of panic, the succubus turned toward the tear.

‘’Mistress!’’

And then your supercharged spell struck her right in the heart, traversing her body completely as your manaphage nature was induced into the spell and ate away though her magical tattoos, a clean gory shot killing her on the spot; or so it should have been, through the rejected corruption, blood and magic going haywire as the very heart of the Heroine was skewered, crushed and forced out of her body, you still managed to pick up her last sentence as she looked into the small tear with a forlorn, loving expression; tis a shame you aren’t able to get a good look.

‘’I always knew…that he was dead’’

Next, the milky white hand grip harder into the tear, provoking a coughing fit from the Demon Lord by a disgusting sound of something meaty hitting the ground.

‘’Daiyu! Stop!’’

…This is the last sentence you hear before the jade geos inert, Amarantha Amisi seem to have grown quite empathic of her would-be jailor.

‘’Come forth, Radiance!’’

A burst of holy magic behind you almost give you a heart attack, but the next phenomenon is majestic indeed; the phantom of Lysta surge forth in the air, traveling the distance faster than an arrow and clash upon the spell spear first, nulling the entire thing in one fell swoop as the strangely powdery ghost exploded upon the tear.

…

Today, a Hero is dead.
