And we continue where we left off yesterday! Hopefully we'll be finished by today!

If you missed the first part, you can read it here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/26667057/

And here's my Twitter if you're into that sort of thing: https://twitter.com/MercCommand

You are CYRIL RASKOVA, a proud witch of the Soviet Air Forces. However, due to a series of rather unfortunate events, you've ended up getting shot down during an intense naval battle, losing your leg in the process. You then somehow ended up in the custody of a boat full of Alaskan crab fishermen. To top it all off, you learned that your fleet has essentially been wiped out, possibly taking down one of your best friends with it.

But, the one bright spot was that you were still alive, and your "captors" seemed nice enough, despite technically being enemies. Well, it could have been worse. You could have lost BOTH your legs...

After what had to have been at least an hour of moping and mourning for the loss of Voychek and the Poltova, your growling stomach furiously reminds you that you hadn't eaten anything since you launched from the Poltova. You vaguely remember Skipper mentioning food being available in the kitchen. Looking to your side, you see that somebody was kind and foresighted enough to leave a crutch for you to use.

You sit up from your bed, cautiously probing the floor with your remaining leg and the crutch. Without your left leg, it feels like your balance is completely off, and stumble a bit while trying to get accustomed to relying on the crutch.

>Take the crutch. You can handle this on your own.
>Swallow your pride and call for help.

Despite your current condition, you're still a witch of the Soviet Air Forces, and that still has to count for something. Unwilling to show any sort of weakness in front of these fishermen, you take a deep breath and try again.

It still takes some getting used to. You keep forgetting that your left leg simply isn't there any more, or at least your mind is subconsciously denying it somehow. You keep instinctively trying to put weight on your nonexistent leg before catching yourself at the last second with the crutch, causing you to stumble more than a few times. The constant rocking of the ship isn't really helping, either.

After a few more stumbles and tumbles, you finally make it to the ship's kitchen. It's thankfully not very far, but you have to deal with the embarrassment of being seen stumbling around like a drunken bear.

You see Skipper, Thomas, and a couple other fishermen sitting in the rather cramped kitchen, drinking coffee and helping themselves to a huge pile of scrambled eggs and bacon. Even your typical Russian stoicism cracks upon smelling the fresh food.

"Hey, look who decided to joint the party!" One of the unnamed crewmen whistles.

"Knock it off, Grinder." Skipper says while sipping coffee from his NAVY mug. "I'm pretty sure she's in no mood to be hit on."

"Morning, Cyril." Thomas gives you a smile, but then glances at Skipper. "It IS morning here, right?"

Not bothering to see Skipper's answer, you sit down at the table and start filling a plate.

You decide to keep quiet for now and focus on eating breakfast. You scoop up some eggs and a bit of bacon with your fork and take a big bite.

For a girl who's largely only subsisted on a diet of beef, cabbage, and potatoes for most of her life, the combination of eggs and bacon causes an explosion of flavor in your mouth. This breakfast, quite frankly, was literally the best thing that's happened to you since you left the monastery.

"Hey, are you all right?" Thomas asks.

"Hm?" You blink curiously, still chewing on a bit of bacon.

"You're crying." The young Marine points out.

Indeed, you can feel warm tears dribbling down your cheeks again.

"It's just a while since I've had decent food! Really! That's the only reason!"

"Awwww, looks like Red here's picked up taste for eggs and bacon!" The crewman named Grinder grins.

"Hm? Red?"

"Oh, it's just a bit of a tradition on this boat. Everybody gets a nickname." Skipper shrugs. "You didn't REALLY think Skipper and Grinder were our real names, did you?"

"Umm.... of course not." You say bit too defensively.

"Anyways, the boys didn't really know your name, so they just starting referring to you as Red and it stuck." Skipper shrugs. "If you want to be referred to by your real name, that's fine with me."

"Captain!" The ships intercom buzzes. "We've got a situation here! We need you on the bridge!"

Skipper frowns and reluctantly gets up from his chair. "Grinder, keep an eye on these kids. I'm going to see what's up."

"You can." You shrug. "But I won't guarantee an answer."

"Well, I've always been curious. What's it like to be a witch in Russia?" Thomas asks. "Information on witches in Russia might as well be black hole. Like, you don't have to tell me anything classified. I'm just genuinely curious.

Well, Thomas has been nothing but nice and relatively honest to you so you don't see any danger in telling him about life in general in Russia. Besides, it wasn't a closely guarded secret. Any person with decent espionage resources would have been able to figure it out.

"In Russia, witches are treated with mistrust." You shift uncomfortably. "We're largely kept restricted to special monasteries. We're allowed relative freedom as long as we stay in them..."

"Sounds more like a prison." Thomas frowns.

"I suppose." You shrug. "Otherwise, we're always under strict military escort. No freedom or command authority. We're nothing more than living weapons to them."

"I guess that's why one of you defected, huh?" Thomas said.

Ah yes, Katya. The Kremlin did its best to cover the whole thing up, but every witch in Russia knew what happened. After all, whenever a Litvyak did anything, people were sure to pay attention.

"Yes, there's certainly many reasons to." You nod. You then decide to turn the tables on Thomas. "Then how are witches treated in America? Like royalty?"

"Whoa, nothing like that!" Thomas laughs. "We just uh.... treat them like regular people, I guess. I never really thought about it."

"They're not closely watched, or kept locked away?"

"Not that I know of."

"Your military trusts them?"

"I think half our military is run by witches."

Well, that was certainly... intriguing. Now you suspect you know why nobody in Russia ever talked about foreign witches.

"Actually, I got another question." Thomas speaks up again. "How exactly does Russia treat crippled witches? No offense, but you ARE missing a leg."

(cont)
>>
>>26687655
And at that point you freeze up as cold realization dawns upon you. Never before in your life have you ever recalled seeing an injured or crippled witch. A witch's value in Russia was always based on their ability to fight. If they lost the capability to fly Strikers...

"I'm not sure, really." You admit.

"Red! -I mean- Cyril! If you're hearing this, can you come up the bridge please?" The intercom buzzes again.

"I guess you should get going, huh?" Thomas asks.

Hearing the call, your military training kicks in and you immediately try to stand up, stopping just in time once you remember your missing leg. Remembering the difficult time you had getting to the kitchen, you decide now is a good time to swallow that pride.

"Ummm, Thomas, can you please help me out here?" You ask, slightly embarrassed at having to ask for help.

"Yeah, sure." Thomas nods and slings your arm over his shoulders. Say what you will, it made a hell of a lot more stable footing than a crutch. With the young Marine half-carrying you, you reach the ship's bridge rather quickly (after being pointed the correct path by Grinder).

"You asked for me, Captain?"

"Yeah." Skipper nods "We came across another life raft, and pulled some of your Russian buddies out of the water. Nobody here can speak Russian so we were hoping you could help us out on that front."

"Um, sure." You nod. "But what if they're hostile?"

"Like I said before, we're prepared for a bit of violence." Skipper pats his shotgun, and you notice the rest of the crew are wielding weapons of various types.

You're led out onto the stormy deck by "Doc", the ship's unofficial doctor. Thankfully, you're now clad in a borrowed coat and coveralls, giving you some degree of protection against the elements. Two of the crew drag a pair of soaked and injured men towards the crew compartment.

"I need you to ask them where they're hurt." Doc says, lugging the ship's first aid kit with him. "And to let them know we don't mean them any harm."

You nod and kneel down to inspect the survivors. You're shocked to see the first one is Private Nevsky, one of the naval guards from the comm room. He's barely conscious due to hypothermia and some nasty and hastily bandaged shrapnel wounds, but he was lucid enough to register your presence. The second survivor was out cold, and his right leg was tied in a crude splint crafted from some rope and random ship debris. You try to get a closer look at his face and gasp.

<Captain Voychek!> You instinctively yell in Russian. You bend down and try to shake him awake. Other than the splint, he doesn't seem to have any serious injuries.

<Cyril?> Voychek groans. <Hurry and help Nevsky. I don't think he has much time left...>

"Well? Who's worse off? I need to know who to treat first!" Doc yells.

"Treat this one first. He has some bad shrapnel wounds." You point to Nevsky. You then bend down to the private and try to sound as reassuring as possible. <Don's fight back, Private. These men are here to help you. Let them.>

Nevsky nods blankly, though you're not sure if it's because he understood you or whether he was just too shocked to do much else. Nevsky is taken the ship's infirmary while Voychek is taken the kitchen, were the food has already been cleared away. You lean your crutch while Thomas sits Voychek down on one of the chairs, careful not to put too much strain on his broken leg.

"Go get a real splint. The one he has now isn't going to hold up for long." You tell Thomas.

"Right." The Marine nods and rushes off to the infirmary.

That now leaves you alone in the room with Voychek. He's still barely conscious, and suffering badly from the onset of hypothermia. You need to warm him up, but how?

Falling back on your first aid training, you know that the first thing to do to prevent somebody from contracting hypothermia was to immediately get them dry. You strip off his shirt, and dry him off with some spare towels. You grab the blanket from the bedroom you were in and drape it around him.

You don't want to risk removing his pants, though. Both because you didn't want to risk messing around with his broken leg, and you were too embarrassed to do it yourself. You were raised in a monastery after all.

So, you fall back to the more efficient option, using your power to heat him up. You know you'd be sacrificing precious magic, but you feel the need is pressing enough to warrant its use. You summon your familiar.

Using the technique the healwitches taught you, you begin channeling magic energy directly into Voychek's body. However, instead of healing magic, you're injecting heat directly into his body. However, it's a tricky thing. If you put in too much energy, you'll only end up cooking him alive. Your left leg stump throbs in pain at the thought.

As you gradually warm Voychek up, Thomas arrives and replaces Voychek's makeshift splint with a much sturdier one.

"So, do you know this guy?" Thomas asks. "You seemed to recognize him when you first saw him."

"Yes, he's my superior officer." You nod. "He's a good man."

"Okay, that means I don't have to shoot him."

You give him a poisonous glare, your fox ears twitching in irritation.

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding!"

It's only a few more minutes until Voychek begins to stir, slowly opening his eyes.

<Lieutenant...> He croaks. <Where are we?>

<An American fishing boat, Captain.> You reply. <They're good people. They won't hurt us.>

(cont)
>>
Both.
>>
>>26688937
<Good.> Voychek nods and looks at Thomas. He tenses when he sees the Marine, no doubt due to his training, but he quickly forces himself to relax. <Are you unhurt? I was worried when lost contact with you.>

<About that...> You stand up, leaning on your crutch to show Voychek your missing left leg.

<My god...> Voychek gasps, and then leans forward. <Cyril, you must listen to me. Whatever happens, you stay with the Americans. You CANNOT return to Russia.>

<What? Why?> You gasp.

Thomas, meanwhile, is still standing there, trying to figure out what the two of you are saying. Voychek gives him a quick glance.

<He cannot understand us?>

<No.> You shake your head.

<Cyril, if High Command finds out you are unfit to fight, you will be expelled from the military. Not even the matrons will be able to protect you.>

<W-what will happen to me, then?>

<At best? They'll just shoot you. At worst, you'll be sent to one of the Camps.>

<What about you?> You ask. <If I go to the Americans, you'll take the blame.>

<I'm sure American POW camps aren't as bad as they say. I hear Atlanta is quite nice this time of year.> Voychek laughs.

<I-I'll leave you to rest, then.> You say, limping away as fast as you can. This was too much to take in. Your superior was all but ordering you to defect. On the one hand, you're ecstatic at the though of finally breaking free of the Kremlin's shackles. On the other hand, it just feels like utter betrayal.

"Hey, Cyril, is something wrong?" Thomas asks, whispering so Voychek wouldn't be able to hear. "That conversation got kind of heated."

"I-I can't go home anymore." You stammer, trying to hold back tears and motioning to your leg. "If I do, there's a good chance they'll just finish the job."

"You can't mean-"

You nod solemnly.

"Shit." Thomas breathes. "What are you going to do?"

"What else can I do? Defect to America, of course." You sigh.

However, before Thomas can say anything, alarms begin to wail across the ship. You and Thomas both look at each other before bolting to the ship's bridge.

"What's going on?" You ask.

"Trouble." Skipper points out the window. Out in the stormy Bering Sea, you can see a small warship slowly closing in. You recognize it as a Soviet corvette. No doubt one of the coastal patrol ships used to patrol occupied waters.

"Well, what do we do?" Thomas asks.

"Not surrender, that's for damn sure." Skipper scowls.

"Um, but last I checked, that ship is armed and we're not."

"Haven't you tried calling for help?" You ask.

"We've been trying the moment you picked up. Between the bad weather and the rest of the shit going on out there, the Navy's not going to put a big priority on a crab fishing boat out where it shouldn't be.

"Did you tell them you have a Soviet witch on board who's willing to surrender."

Skipper pauses for a second and facepalms. "Goddamn, I must be getting too old for this crap."

"If you want, I think we have a way to buy some time."

You all turn to see Voychek limping his way into the bridge, exhausted but still resolute.

The USSR was a dictatorship under the guise of being a government that represented the best interests of the people, particularly under Stalin, but it barely improved over time as it continued a political policy in which it literally had no hope of succeeding with short of actually going to war. That's reality. Fuck you, and fuck the Soviet Union. In an RPG? At least a little immersion and a lack of real world nonsense. It's not like America was a nice place in WW2 when we had internment camps.

Yes, some of us actually do remember things from before our whitewashed history books were revamped. I remember looking at my old, ragged science book and the brand new history books in my junior year and wondering what happened....
>>
>>26690210

I originally objected because of the way they threw away soldiers (and this doesn't just apply to witches, I'd be pretty disgusted regardless of gender) for the terrible crime of being injured serving their country. Genetic experiments and the like I can tolerate because, while repulsive, they do serve the nation in some objective manner. Shooting personnel who have been crippled serving your cause just seems excessively GRIMDERP to me.

"I think we should go with Voychek's plan." You speak up. "He really does know how the Soviet chain of command works."

"Fine." Skipper grunts. "Grinder, did you ever get any reply from the SOS?"

"The Air Force is sending a Search and Rescue force right now. They'll be here in about twenty minutes."

"Figures. We mention a witch and they start putting their asses in gear." Skipper shakes his head. "Should've thought of that earlier."

"May I?" Voychek reaches his hand out to Grinder, who gives him the radio mic. Voychek then tunes the radio to one of the frequencies the Soviet Navy widely uses.

<Attention Soviet ship!> Voychek starts speaking in Russian. <This is Captain Victor Voychek of the Soviet Air Forces. Me and and a witch are being held hostage on board the fishing boat you are pursuing! Do not attack! I repeat, do not attack!>

Voychek hands the radio mic to Skipper, who takes the cue. "Yeah, you red bastards try anything, and your precious Captain and his witch are going to be sleeping with the fishes! You got that?"

"Sleeping with the fishes?" Grinder snickers.

"Shut up, my mind blanked for a second there!" Skipper scowls after shutting off the mic. "Doc, what are they doing?"

"They're slowing down. It looks like they're keeping their distance."

"Good. If all goes well, he will call up his superior, his superior will cal up his own superior, and it'll keep going hopefully up to the Kremlin before they can make a decision."

"Um, guys, something's wrong." Doc warns you all. "That ship is launching motorboats."

"What?" Voychek glances out the bridge windows and indeed sees three small motorboats packed with Soviet naval infantry. "Of course we had to run into the one Soviet ship captain with a degree of initiative."

(cont)
>>
>>26690395
"Looks like we'll be fighting after all." Skipper sighs and picks up the intercom microphone. "All crew! Prepare for boarding! I repeat, prepare for boarding! We only have to hold them off for twenty minutes!"

With that, the ship becomes a buzz of activity. Including himself, Skipper and his crew numbered at around six. Assuming you, Thomas, and Voychek joined in, it would be nine ragtag sailors and cripples fighting against at least one squad of well trained Soviet naval infantry.

"I need a weapon." You say. "Even short a leg, I'm still a witch and a soldier."

"Take your pick." Skipper nods to a locker filled with assorted weapons.

>>
>>26690346
Except in the case of witches, those soldiers are super powered fighting machines who are clearly unhappy with the current regime. "You know, you seem rather quick to want to fight, especially considering these are your own countrymen." Thomas points out as you sift through the weapons locker.

"I'd rather not kill anybody, but I'd also rather not return to a country that hates and fears me." You say simply

You ultimately decide on picking up the AR. It was the closest equivalent to the AK-74 you typically used. However, seeing as this was the civilian version, it was semi-automatic only, and it only came with ten round magazines. You'd just have to make do. Thomas meanwhile grabs a shotgun as well as his trusty M1911.

Now you just have to decide where to set up. With a leg missing, you'll only be able to fire from a static, prepared position. You had two choices. You could set up on the main deck, where you had more cover, but your field of view would be limited. Or, you could set up on top of the relatively more exposed bridge, where you'd be able to see the entire surrounding area.

Seriously? The Tsar was a delusional ruler that pissed away his own control of the situation and pursued a war that costed his nation countless lives. The people didn't turn against him because he was a just and wise ruler.

Also, how the fuck did you think the communists got people to work to death for them? I never said Stalin was particularly nice (the fucker outdid Hitler in terms of sheer number of deaths) when executing his Five-Year Plans, just that he got the job done, despite his overly ambitious goals.

Sure enough, you can see the Russian corvette hanging a few hundred meters behind the boat, making sure to keep its distance. However, the three motorboats are circling the Alaskan Angel like hungry sharks. No doubt they were trying to intimidate you.

You decide to hold your fire. They aren't doing anything yet, and your objective is to buy time, not to pick a fight.

Unfortunately, the naval infantry seem to have different ideas. You notice the motor boats are slowly getting closer and closer, like a tightening noose. You're not sure how skilled Skipper and his crew were at fighting, but you really didn't want to find out.

Checking your magic reserves. You determine that you've got enough magic for either a few magically enhanced shots or for a few seconds of shield power. Not nearly enough for a prolonged fight, but it wouldn't matter if you could end the confrontation immediately.

You catch more movement among the naval infantry and you can swear you could see RPGs being passed around. Those weren't the kind of weapon you brought along just to look cool...

And this disproves my point how? Because nowhere did I state that the USSR was somehow superior to the US.

>Didn't stop the USSR from embarrassing themselves in Afghanistan.
Because the US is doing so well in Iraq and Afghanistan amirite?

>And the US scored a .937. Cuba is inconsequential to the rest of the world. Using the index means NOTHING.
The US is a leading world power, the point was genius, that 0.758 is a lot better than a so called banana republic has any right to be. Isn't like Capitalism is a shining beacon of perfection either, isn't that right Zimbabwe?

>Agreed, most communist regimes have been pretty delusional.
Your illiteracy is cute.

Despite that though, communist regimes did have a track record for being delusional (a track record the US also seems to be inheriting, hello Republicans), but my point was that communism had small points of good in the shit-sea of bad, a point you continually ignore in favor of arguing and insulting me because I dare say that *GASP* communism had several positive effects (though the ethics of it is debatable, see Five-Year Plans) over its history.

"I think so, yeah." Thomas nods.

"Okay, just making sure." You flip the safety on your AR off. "Skipper, I think those guys out there have RPGs. I'm going to take a shot at them. Follow my lead."

"Got it."

With magically enhanced bullets, you can probably tear those boats to shreds. However, you'd be sacrificing your ability to put up any kind of shield, which would be extremely helpful in warding off any RPGs that might manage to fire.

I'm not the guy you're responding to, and I'm quite drunk, but let me interject. I don't particularly mean to take sides here, but let's be honest, the USA and the USSR both played REALPOLITIK throughout the cold war. Trying to justify one side as the "good guys" and one side as the "bad guys" is simply irresponsible history. I'm American and I love my country, despite the weirdo shit it has done recently, but the cold war was realpolitik writ large. No on was innocent. This sentiment rings true to this very day...we are still playing a post-cold war game of realpolitik

HOWEVER, there is one important differential: in America people are at least "titularly" allowed to advance positions that oppose the governmental position. Given the treatment of Snowden, this is cast in some sort of doubt, but compared to Putin's Russia's treatment of Pussy Riot, it's not...quite as bad. This is actually kinda a sad reflection on modern politics

Deciding to save our magic power for your shields, you try to take aim, relying on accuracy rather than power to see you through. But at the last second, you shift your aim ever so slightly so that your shot would go through your target's shoulder rather than his heart. Despite how badly they treated you, you still don't feel comfortable killing your own countrymen in cold blood.

You pull the trigger.

(cont)
>>
>>26691592
The AR barks and your target shrieks in pain and topples backward in the boat. The RPG he's holding fires prematurely, slamming into the water just a few meters from his motorboat and showing it and his comrades with a torrent of ice cold seawater. Skipper and his crew begin to open fire as well, peppering the other two boats with small arms fire. A second RPG fires but goes wide, shooting off into the distance. You manage to bring your shield up in time to block the third RPG. You feel the strain as your shield expends power to repel the shot.

With nothing to lose, the motorboats begin to make a straight beeline for the Alaskan Angel. They make sure to try and land on different parts of the boat to split your fire. One heads off to the rear of the ship, no doubt to try and disable the engines. One heads for the center of the boat, possibly to try and take the bridge, while the third moves toward the front to directly engage the crew. You've only got enough time to eliminate one of the boats before it reaches the Alaskan Angel. Meanwhile, the corvette continues to hold its position.

You take aim at the boat making a beeline for the crew. Even though you didn't know them very well, they had treated you nicely, and that at least had to count for something.

Aiming your AR, you put in a bit of magic into our next round before firing. The boat's engine coughs and dies as a magic enhanced 5.56mm bullet punches clean through it, leaving a bunch of naval infantry stranded on the ocean, but alive, at least.

"Skipper, you better get out of the bridge, because you've got Russians headed your way!" You yell through the radio, firing several rounds at the approaching naval infantry to keep them suppressed. The rest of the crew was trying to come reinforce.

And then there's a shudder as the the ship's engines grind to a halt.

And the Corvette is starting to close in.

>Assist Skipper and Voychek. Get them out of the bridge!
>Get the engines running before that corvette catches up to you.

But that isn't the point, the point is that these are countrymen genuinely trying to help what they think is a captive witch. I'd prefer we didn't end up back in Soviet hands, but I want to prevent as many casualties as possible.

"We have to get Voychek and Skipper out of there!" You yell to Thomas. The Marine nods and kicks the trapdoor leading to the bridge open. He leaps down through the hole and catches you as you slide your way down as well.

"Well, look who dropped in." Skipper says, firing his shotgun down the hall to keep the approaching naval infantry at bay.

"Skipper, take Voychek and get out of here!" You yell, reloading your AR. "Me and Thomas will hold them off!"

"Last I checked, there's only one way in here, and it's blocked."

You toss your empty mag through the bridge window, shattering it.

"Oh yeah, I guess that works too." Skipper picks up Voychek and leaps out.

Now that just leaves you and Thomas to hold off a squad of probably very angry naval infantry. Thomas takes position at the door to the bridge and fires several blasts.

"I don't suppose you got any other plans to get out of this?" He asks.

Hardly.

Joe's a massive, paranoid maniac. He's not stupid- he can't afford to waste witches like that, even wounded ones. You never know when those horrible creatures from mars will come back, and banking on wounded witches bearing a new generation is really risky. He'd rather push his medical scientists towards getting them back up and fighting.

Merc was keeping it perfectly within character. Witches do disappear into Siberia, and it's become a boogyman within the soviet witch corps. You know how it goes- one person knows someone who knows someone who disappeared and they haven't heard from her and the story builds from there.

Only Moscow academy witches don't really fear it, and that's only because they're so heavily indoctrinated, they're willing to accept it for the greater good of the soviet people.

Well, you were basically at your last ropes here. You couldn't hold the bridge. You could only delay them. You just wish that it didn't involve using the last of your magical energy. Putting all of your concentration into your shield, you create a small, but powerful one and push as hard as you can. The shield slides forward and slams into the tightly backed naval infantry, crumpling them against the wall.

However, at this point, the Corvette has caught up to you. Even more naval infantry line the side of the ship, and its relatively small but still very deadly deck gun swivels in your direction.

<ATTENTION AMERICAN SAILORS. RELEASE THE PRISONERS ARE WE WILL SINK YOUR SHIP.>

You briefly wonder why the captain of the ship would try to address Americans in Russian when you can hear the familiar whine of Striker units. Looking up, you see a pair of witches in F-15 Strikers swoop overhead. A flurry of M16 and M14 fire systematically demolishes the corvette's weapon systems, and you see much of the crew leaping overboard in a panic. Satisfied, one of the witches, a blonde, gives you all a respectful salute, while the second witch, a dour looking dark haired girl wearing a scarf, pulls out what looks a kukri and uses it to slice off the Soviet flag flying proudly over the corvette.

"It looks like we made it just in time." The blonde witch smiles. "Pararescue at your service."

With that, you hear the distant but familiar thumping of helicopter blades. Looking behind you, you see a trio of black hawks arriving.

(cont)
>>
>>26692199
And with that, you, Thomas, Koychek, and Skipper's crew are loaded into the black hawks and sent back to the mainland. The two witches follow you while the third black hawk stays on station to keep an eye on the shipwrecked Russians until the US Navy could come sweep them up. However, once you reach the coast, the blawk hawk carrying Skipper and his crew breaks off in a different direction.

"Where are they going?" You ask the pilot.

"They're headed back to Elmendorf." The pilot replies. "We're headed to a secure facility where we'll get that injury of yours properly treated."

"And where do we go after that?" Thomas asks.

"Sorry, I don't know anything about that."

"I heard Atlanta is nice this time of year." Voychek says.

"Hoo boy, I don't know what they tell you in Russia, but Atlanta is NEVER nice!" The door gunner responds.

You sigh and look out of the side door. The blonde witch, you never actually caught her name, makes eye contact with you and she smiles and waves. Her dour companion doesn't visibly respond, preferring to play around with her kukri. No doubt they were sent here not only to escort the helicopters, but to keep an eye on you as well.

You're not sure what the future has in store for you. However, you're somehow inexplicably excited as well.

"Hey, do you know where I can find a Colt Peacemaker?" You ask.

>And that's it! Thanks to those anons who decided to stick with this little miniquest! Unfortunately we once again ran a lot later than intended, but I'm willing to do some Q&A, either about this quest or about VMQ2, so ask away! I'll answer to the best of my ability!

Merc, who writes the setting that Isolde features in, has never written SWQ or spinnoff quests before this, tank witches is not his domain, nor has he written in it before, kind of hard for a character from one writers universe to be kicking as as a character in another writers universe with no previous contact between the two

So with these pregen characters, will these be the descendants of the first group of characters?

Or will there be some new blood into the mix?
>>
>>26692479
Whoa, alright, chill, it was just speculation.
>>
>>26692486
A bit of both.

If you follow him on twitter, he talks about it often. Far as I can tell, he's experimenting with zone-based combat (kinda like Fate) to handle large distances easily.

It all sounds pretty great, and he seems to know what he's doing.

Will some weapon system will change?

and will some cameo of the original valkryia chronicles chow up?
>>
>>26692508
not attacking you, just pointing out that your speculation made no sense at all, and that I thought it stemmed from you getting writers and their settings mixed up, you would have to ask MightyMouse about characters in TW89, something Merc has never touched
>>
>>26692516
will the STURMFUHRER (can,t say that without caps) twins show up?
>>
>>26692532
...You remember that Belkan Knights were famous for their armour right?
>>
>>26692538
>STURMFUHRER

I swear I'm actually growing to hate that name.

>>26692518
Awesome, thanks. Glad to know he/she is still working on it.
>>
>>26692551
well aware of it, but that don't magically teleport cameo characters into different settings
>>
>>26692566
Eh it could have been worse: It could have been SWQ's fanbase reading it who would use that name to justify any stupid thing they thought up of (and it being them, they usually have a stupid idea every minute)
>>
>>26692582
What part of speculation don't you get? Seriously, I'd post the no fun allowed picture if I wasn't on my phone.
>>

If you're going 20 years in the future for VMQ2, you're probably gonna have to start making shit up in terms of military hardware. Are you the sort of military nut that hews close to realism, or is this gonna be fantasy tanks.

I don't really care what approach you do, but you strike me as a military nut sorta dude, so I kinda suspect you're going more on the realistic side.
>>
>>26692602
best thing about the setting is that it allows both aspects to work well together
>>

You should've been here for Albion.

My god, the knob-chewing was sickening.

I'm fuzzy on maritime law, but if the battle took place in international waters, would Thomas have legal salvage rights over Cyril?
