You are LUCAS WILLIAMS, a member of the mercenary company Demons of Randgriz and a graduate from its elite TIER ONE Program. You are now part of the elite, but inexperienced WRAITH TEAM, consisting of you and your fellow classmates from training.

After a grueling year of training and quick battle to get rid of some troublesome pirates harassing Gallia's northern coast, you and Wraith Team have found yourselves transferred to the exotic land of San Salvacion, an entire ocean away from Gallia. You've been brought in to help the beleaguered country suppress the rebels that oppose its rule, as well as counter any possible Erusean aggression from the South.

Unfortunately, the action started much sooner than you thought it would when your base was ambushed literally almost the moment you set foot in it. While the attackers were repulsed, the attack has left you and your squad a bit shaken that presumably poorly armed and organized rebels could strike at the heart of San Salvacion's military power in the south so easily.

Unfortunately, it seems the situation is getting more and more complicated as more players in this conflict begin to reveal themselves, such as Emmerian special forces, Imperial weapon smugglers, unscrupulous rival mercs, and more...

Currently, you're caught in the middle of a massive rebel attack on San Salvacion's capital city. You don't have your gear, and what your firepower is limited to only what you and your squadmates have managed to scavenge and steal from the rebels you defeated.

Your only form of support? A middle aged Embassy worker who is strangely skilled in using a gun and fighting in general.

And to think this all started from an innocent date...

Anyways, back to business.

"Where did you come from?" Jack asks Simo. "We need to figure out how far this thing has spread."

"And you are?" Simo narrows his eyes.

"Jack. I work security detail at the Emmerian Embassy." Your man Lucas here can vouch for me.

Simo turns and you just shrug. "He can be trusted."

Simo nods in understanding. You only said he could be trusted, but not that what he was saying was actually the truth. However, like you, Simo knows that the Wraiths need all the help they can get in this situation.

"We were in a bar five clicks west of here. Bunch of rebels barged into the place and we fought them off. We were trying to get back to the airport when we ran into you guys."

"The airport's pretty far." Jack frowns. "At this rate, it's only a matter of time before the embassy defenses crumble, and I'm not just talking about the Emmerian one."

"I know." Simo frowns. "The Federation and Gallia have their own embassies nearby, too."

"W-well." Falynn speaks up. Isn't that a radio tower there?" Falynn points to the east. "If we could patch into that, we could call the Kestrel for air support."

"That's right." Simo nods. "They can get planes up here in ten minutes, less than two if they retask a patrol flight..."

"But you can bet your ass the rebels thought of that too." Jack sighs. "Comms would be one of the priority targets.

"You know, can't we call for help from the embassy?" You ask Jack.

"The embassy mostly relies on secure hardlines. A lot of sensitive diplomatic information being transmitted, you know. Those would be the first things that get cut in any organized attack. And I already tried calling them up using the rebel radios we collected. No dice. Long range comms are getting jammed. And guess what would have the power to do that?"

"So it's decided then, the radio tower." Simo nods.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Wraiths have just finished freeing the prisoners from earlier. With a quick reminder of which way is north, the direction where there WEREN'T rampant fires and explosions, they all quickly make their escape.

"Okay, so we've got an armored car, a pickup, a van, and a truck." Simo says as he starts to brainstorm. "We've all got pretty much scavenged Imp ARs or SMGs. This is not going to be fun."

"The truck will draw too much attention, plus the rebels are bound to be looking for it once they realize it's missing." Jack says. "The rest of the vehicles should be more than enough to carry us all."

"Alright, everybody, we're moving out!" Simo calls.

You hop into the back of the pickup with Simo and Jack while Runaround takes the armored car and Falynn and Bragg handle the van and pickup respectively. You all pull out onto the main road and head straight for the radio tower.

Fortunately, again, since you were rolling around in rebel vehicles, the rebels you pass by on the streets don't really give you a thorough inspection as you pass by, opting to instead continue whatever it was they were tasked with.

"Hey! Hey!" You see one of the rebels on the side of the road trying to wave you down.

"Damn." Simo seethes and instinctively reaches for his pistol.

"Hold it." Jack whispers. "Bragg, bring it a stop. Let's see what they want."

"Yo, guys! You don't happen to have an engineer or anything, do you?" One of the rebels calls out.

"Yeah, we do, what of it?" Jack calls back, mimicking an almost perfect San Salvacion accent.

"We found a tank! It's got a track blown, but it otherwise works fine!"

Simo glances at the armored car Runaround is driving. "Think we should upgrade?"

"Okay, show us the way!" Jack calls out.

The rebel nods and waves you to follow around the corner. When you do, you can see about four rebels milling about a derelict Emmerian M6 tank. You're pretty sure the rebels didn't smuggle it in, so you assume it's a San Salvacion defense force vehicle that was either abandoned or "left" for the rebels to find.

"So, you think you you fix-"

The rebels don't even have chance to react when they're riddled with hundreds of bullets from some pent up frustration of a squad of soldiers who ended up having to fight on their weekend off.

"Runaround, you think you can drive this thing?"

"Of course!" Runaround cracks his knuckles. "What do you think they teach us in Driver's Ed?"

After some quick work on the treads, Falynn gets the tank up and running. Runaround hits the ignition and the M6 roars to life, ready to unleash some well deserved punishment.

"You know, it's the finer things in life you have to appreciate." Bragg grins as the M6 slowly pulls out into the main road. "They're just literally giving tanks to us for free."

Well, the radio tower couldn't be more than one or two blocks from your position now.

You all dismount a block from the radio station. No sense all of you getting taken out by a well placed lance shot. Lucina takes point, and moves forward cautiously, making sure to try and keep herself concealed from any possible defenders.

"Yeah." Lucina nods.

"Good. The rest of you set up in the lower floors and start putting fire into the station. Hopefully you'll draw out any additional men inside Lucina didn't see. Either way, keep them busy until we secure the roof. Then' we'll call Runaround in. Got it?"

"Yes sir." Everybody affirms.

You all infiltrate the building from the back door. The snipers did a pretty sloppy job and didn't even bother trying to secure their rear. No booby traps or sentries or anything. You and the Wraiths save Lucina, Simo, and Morgan set up quietly in the windows directly facing the radio station.

True to Lucina's word, you can see four snipers on the top of the station, with eight riflemen milling about on the windows. They're obviously not expecting a serious attack.

And then the return fire comes as the rebels regain their sense.

Unfortunately, the return fire from the rebels proves to be devastatingly accurate. You see Charlotte, Sparky, Edwin, and Bragg take some hits. However, Edwin and Sparky seem fine thanks to their heavy armor. Charlotte seems a bit worse off, as she coughing up some blood that Falynn is desperately trying to dab away. Bragg seems to have taken a shot through his bicep but he doesn't seem to be bothered by it.

You see two more riflemen fall over and one sniper's head explode in red mist. You're not sure if The shot was made my Simo or Morgan, but it was still a damn good shot.

Meanwhile, Runaround finally rolls in with his M6, with Jack manning the pintle mounted MG. Runaround fires, demolishing the barricade blocking the front door while Jack peppers the windows with MG fire.

"Okay, I want Lucas, Lucina, Charlotte, MK, Falynn, and Edwin to breach the building!" Simo yells. "Everybody else stay behind and provide support fire!"

At this point, the remaining men at the windows have either fled at the sight of the M6, or are trying to drop grenades on top of it in some vain attempt to damage it. Runaround fires another cannon shot, blowing out several windows and the men behind them and showering the street below with bricks and shattered glass.

"Runaround! Watch that fire!" Simo yells. "We need the radio station intact!"

At this point, you and the assault team have made it back onto the street level. Charlotte still seems to be having some chest pains, but thanks to the ragnaid she seem to be suppressing it quite well.

Charlotte and MK lead the way, as shocktroopers were usually meant to do. However, you see puffs of red explode out from her chest. She doesn't quite fall down, but she gives a surprised gasp and drops to her knee.

"Char!" Falynn cries.

"Goddamnit." Charlotte manages to utter.

Without losing any momentum, you and Falynn both grab Charlotte by the shoulders and carry her the rest of the way into the station itself. Your heart is stopped the entire way, though, but the adrenaline surging through your veins prevents you from freezing up or thinking about it.

"Falynn how bad is it?" You ask, kneeling down.

"N-no time!" Falynn stays as she fumbles with one of the ragnaids she's carry. "Gotta stabilize gotta stabilize..."

"Falynn." You say, putting hand on her shoulder. "Calm down. Breathe."

"Y-yeah. Listen to Lucas, Fal." Charlotte coughs.

"Okay. Okay." Falynn takes a deep breath and pops the ragnaid. You can see the bullet holes in Charlotte's chest slowly close up. "It's n-not fatal, but still bad. P-punctured lungs."

"I can still fight." Charlotte says trying to get up.

You nod and the you and remaining team pushes deeper into the station. It was eerily empty, but you suppose that the rebels, like at the shopping center, were shorthanded and couldn't dedicate a lot of men here as a permanent garrison. However, the first few floors are nothing but administrative offices. The actual radio control room is on the top floor.

Fortunately, you don't meet any further resistance, but when you reach the top floor, you then find out why.

There, you see four rebels along with six or so civilians, presumably radio station staff, holed up in the radio control room.

"D-don't come any closer!" One of the rebels yell. "O-or we'll kill the hostages!"

"There's something wrong here." Edwin narrows his eyes. "We're dealing with kids here."

"What?" You blink.

"Their body language. They're unsure of what to do. Classic signs of being cut off from the chain of command. I think we killed their senior leadership in the initial assault. These rebels here just desperate and scared."

"I see." You nod.

"I can sneak around and try and surprise them." Lucina adds in. "But I'll need help to take them all down. I can't take on four at once, at least not fast enough to ensure all the hostages' safety."

You stop and think. So far, the rebels had only seen you and MK. Lucina and Edwin were still out of their sight.

"Simo, Jack, we're in business." You say and pick up the mic. "Kestrel Control, Kestrel Control, do you read?"

"This is Kestrel Control, who is this?" You hear a voice buzz on the radio.

"This is Wraith Team. San Salvacion City is under attack and we need immediate air support. I repeat, the city is under attack."

"Okay, we're scrambling support elements." Kestrel Control responds. "ETA ten minutes. We're also rerouting a patrol flight, ETA two minutes."

"Thanks a lot, Kestrel Control." You nod and turn to the techs. "Okay, I need you guys to start broadcasting the message as far and wide as possible. The city's under rebel attack and needs immediate assistance. Civilians take shelter and any available soldier needs to mobilize. Got it?"

"Y-yeah." The techs nod.

You and Edwin make your way back down to the first floor. Charlotte is carefully being loaded into the van. Simo and Morgan have already come down and are surveying the damage.

"We got the word out, Simo. Kestrel's sending in fighters to support." You announce.

"Good." Simo nods. "That means we can head for the embassy. Load up!"

Once again, your journey through the city streets goes relatively unmolested. Honestly, you start to wonder whether there were any rebels left in the city at all.

The Embassy was... in pretty bad shape. You can see what were once high and thick perimeter walls were breached in multiple sections. Bullet holes and impact craters showed evidence of fierce fighting, and the building itself looked battered beyond recognition.

"Shit, that's bad." Simo breathes. "You think they're still alive in there?"

"The rebels wouldn't be surrounding the place if they weren't." Jack says.

"Wraith Team, Wraith Team, this is Blue Flight." Your radios squawk. "Requesting targets. What do you need destroyed?"

"Blue Flight, we have multiple hostiles surrounding the Emmerian Embassy. Mostly infantry and light vehicles. A few passes should shake them up." Simo says.

"Roger that. We're thirty seconds out."

"Should we open fire, sir? Draw their attention away from the planes?" Runaround asks.

The rebels are absolutely torn apart. Tightly packed in a siege formation, they don't stand a chance. You can see scores of infantry getting pulped and more than a few vehicles going up in flames. However, there's some fierce MG fire being thrown up in the air, and you see one of the Falcons suddenly start belching smoke.

The both of you sprint back down to the where the main fighting is going on. The team is taking cover behind Runaround's M6 as it slowly advances, firing as it goes. Every so often, the pair of Falcons would swoop down for a strafing pass. You notice that one of them looks like Lara's plane.

"Nice of you to finally join us." Simo scowls. "We need to get inside the embassy and make contact with the guys inside. If we can coordinate with them, we might be able to push these damn rebels out. for good."

"Um, that's a lot of open ground to cover." You frown.

Yeah, well, you, Lucina, MK, and Falynn are up. Jack's also going to tag along because he can vet for you guys."

"Sure you can keep up, old man?" MK grins.

Miraculously enough, all of you make it across the courtyard without a scratch. However, the moment you reach the door, you come face to face with a lot guns. Well, at least they were Emmerian guns.

"Holy... Lucas, is that you?!" Hudson shouts as he lowers his rifle.

"Yeah, small world, isn't it?" You sigh.

"What the hell is going on out there?" He asks.

"Well, we kinda borrowed an Emmerian tank and we called in some air support and we're totally wrecking the rebels, and we just stopped by to see if you wanted to join in on the fun." MK says rather quickly.

"How many men do you have?" You ask.

"I've got about two dozen Emmerian Marines here ready to fight." Hudson says.

"Simo, where are the rebels concentrated the strongest?" You ask.

"East side." Simo says. "We can break them right here and now."

"Let's do this, Marines!" Hudson yells alongside you.

The Marines, also eager to go on the offensive, let out a loud battle cry and charge out of the front entrance to the east end of the courtyard, firing their rifles wildly. You and the others charge alongside. Meanwhile, Runaround, Bragg, and the snipers provide supporting fire as the Falcons swoop down for a strafing run.

Upon seeing a wave of angry Emmerian Marines and Demons charging at them, screaming like maniacs, the tired and demoralized rebels finally realized that they had had enough. Half of them surrendered on the spot, while the other half broke and fled in an attempt to escape into the city. Unfortunately, they would find no respite there. At this point in time, reinforcements had FINALLY arrived. A quick reaction security force from Emmeria, Artemis mercenaries, Demon paratroopers deployed from the Kestrel, and San Salvacion Army units from the surrounding areas all converged on the capital. And even if the rebels managed to escape all of this military might, they would have had to face the wrath of the civilians they had terrorized earlier.

With the fighting over, the Emmerian Embassy becomes your team's new temporary base. You just lay on the lawn next to the rest of the team as they try and get some rest.

"That was some good fighting out there." Jack walks up to you and grins.

"Yeah, well, it's what we're paid to do." Bragg shrugs.

"Chief, what the heck are you doing here?" Hudson asks as he walks up.

"Chief?" You blink.

"Well, it looks like the secret's out." Jack sighs. "Technically, I AM an Embassy worker, but I also happen to double as Emmerian Intelligence's San Salvacion Bureau Chief."

"So, you're a spy." Simo sighs.

"More or less, yes." Jack shrugs. "Look, I suspect I know why the rebels attacked today, and Huson vouches for you guys, so I'm willing tell you."

"Really?" Simo raises an eyebrow. "What's the catch?"

"That NOBODY outside of your team and your immediate superiors can know about it." Jack says. "I can't even discuss it out here. We'll have to go inside."

"Okay." Simo nods. "I'll go."

You decide to go check on Charlotte, who is resting on a hastily set up cot in the makeshift field hospital. Falynn is already there, keeping an eye on her.

"N-no. She's still unconscious." Falynn sighs. "I-I really wanted this day to end on good note, you know? But then all this fighting happened, and then Charlotte got hurt..."

"Hey, the day's not over yet. It can still end on a good note." You say as you kiss Falynn on the forehead.

"W-w-w-w-what was that for?!" Falynn cries, instinctively leaning back, her face becoming beet red.

"Eh? Isn't that what boyfriends do?" You ask.

"T-that's not funny, Lucas!" You feel Falynn's boot contact your shin.

"Agh! Why!?" You cry, genuinely confused.

"Ugggghhh..." Charlotte groans as she starts to regain consciousness. "What... what happened?"

"Oh... right." Charlotte turns to face her sister. "Fal, I am SO going to get back at you for that!"

"Eeep!" Falynn instinctively recoils.

"Oh no, I'm not going to hit you now." Charlotte gets an evil grin. "I'm going to reserve the right to get a free hit on you at any time I feel like it. So you'll just to live eternally in the fear that I might do it at any time... LIKE NOW!"

Charlotte then throws a punch at Falynn, but pulls back at the last second. However, her feint does it's job, and Falynn topples over in her seat in surprise.

"Heh, this is gonna be fun." Charlotte grins.

"Well, it's nice to see that you're all right." You sigh.

"Shit, from what everybody's saying, I missed out a on really good charge." Charlotte sighs as she lays back in her cot. "Well, what happens happens, I guess."

"Lucas, can you hear me?" Simo's voice buzzes in your radio.

"Yeah. What do you need."

"Grab Falynn and Sparky and get in the embassy ASAP." Simo says.

"Got it." You say. "Falynn, Simo needs us."

"A-alright." Falynn nods and gets up.

"Sparky! You're coming with us too!" You yell.

"Roger that!" Sparky stand up from her resting spot and jogs up to where you are.

The three of you enter the embassy. What was once a fancy lobby was now in ruins, wrecked by explosions and gunfire. However, you see embassy staff still stoically moving around, trying to fix up the damage and continue their work as best they could.

"Over here." Hudson waves. You follow him and he leads you to a hidden stairwell.

"What I'm about to show you, you can't tell ANYBODY outside of your squad." Hudson warns. I personally vouched for you guys to Chief Ryan, so it's my ass on the line if anything goes wrong."

"You got it." You nod. "What's this all about, anyways?"

"It's better if I show you."

Hudson leads you through a veritable maze of hallways, stairwells, and security doors. However, you finally enter into a vast underground chamber, the walls and design of which look far older than the embassy above it.

"This... this is Valkrur architecture." Falynn notes.

"Correct. When we were digging the Canal, one of work crews stumbled across this chamber, and we built the Embassy on top of it to conceal it." Hudson says. "This multimillion dollar facility, all to hide one artifact.

Hudson then motions to a platform where Jack and Ryan are standing on. Atop the platform is a podium holding a single, metallic sphere nestled safely in a socket so it could rotate freely.

"What... what is that?" You ask.

"Down here, we called it the Cartographer." Hudson says. "And we have reason to believe that this is what the rebels, and Erusea, were aiming for."
