I think it's pretty much a requirement that we develope our own version of Kaioken.

Goku was much weaker than Vegeta when he fought the Ginyu force, but thanks to Kaioken, he managed to bump his power to ridiculous levels.

Then he went through a ridiculous zenkai, being able to be on par with Frieza.
