I don't really have the time, patience, or interest in story timing the whole thing, but it involved the players playing a bunch of tokusatsu trope characters in an alternate timeline where a warforged artificer created giant robots to protect the city. Instead of the whole story, have Titanor's sheet. The entire group had to use it and I'm pretty proud of the storygame bullshit I injected into this video board game simulator with no out-of-combat options.

here let me work on something for you guys

Alright, so it was the end of the game, the last session, our GM made us a bunch of sheets and handed them out to us. They were giant robots. One for each character.

ECHO VICTOR for Benn
REDEEMER GREEN for Frost
VERDANT REFLECTION for Jammin
GENASI DANGER for Marrie
CHARGER VULCAN for Tomas and
PSYCHER ALPHA for Vienna

The city was being attacked by a giant monster made by a wicked magiscientist. Granted the robots by the Warforged RAMROD CAMSHAFT, our heroes went out to meet it in the field of battle! They fought bravely in the city striking it again and again! Our tactics were honed, with moe minirobots from Marrie and powerful blows from the rest of the group we defeated the monster!

But before the final blow was struck, the magiscientist who created it, Auntie, made her monster grow in power! We knew there was no way to defeat it.

So we did it. All our minor actions together, Paul Bunyan and Other Gestalt Tales, Let's Gestalt In Here, Be Our Gestalt, Gestalt's Well That Ends Well, Gestalt'll Have To Do and Gestalt, Who Goes There?

Together, they formed TITANOR! They met the robot on the field of battle, their attacks vicious, but our pilots were great and full of FIRE and SPIRIT and SHOUNEN POWER. Powerful blow after powerful blow! Dodging, weaving, parrying, striking again! The very heavens shook with our battle. Yachts were thrown, meteors deflected, towers jumped off of.

It was time.

It was time for the final attack, Frost called out to the people of Cragholm, of the WORLD, RAISE YOUR HANDS! PUT YOUR FAITH IN TITANOR!

And so they did.

We did the Final Destroy Mechanical Buster.

It crit.

1500 damage.

The beast fell, dead, into the lake, a meteor falling on top of it.

Titanor's job was done.

And that's how our DnD campaign ended.

This is Benn's robot. Benn is a half elf Paladin/Warlock who lost his memory and is a story book character. His secret past is that he's not actually half elf but half ELADRIN. He focuses on using frost powers and met the Prince of Frost.

This is Frost's robot. Frost is a Longtooth Shifter (fluffed as a snakeman instead of a wolfman) avenger, he worships the dead goddess Nusemnee and was a total critfisher asshole (he was my character)

This is Jammin's robot. Jammin was thought of as a Benn from an alternate universe and was a total rock and roller, he was an avenger/swordmage, it turns out that he wasn't Benn's alternate universe self but that they were actually brothers.

Oh a note on these is the GM didn't change the resistances, vulnerabilities, gear and alignments of these robots

This is Marrie's robot, she's... a lot of things, warlord/wizard/artificer I think(?) and she was a Voidsoul Genasi. Her alignment was Evil (unaligned) and she dressed like a pirate all the time forever.

This is Tomas' robot. He's a perfectly normal human who was also a terrible monsterous creation by Auntie. So he's actually a warforged. He was a paladin and a damn good one too he wants you all to know.

And last but not least, Vienna. She was originally introduced as Tarshal to the group but it turned out that he was actually a she. She was a vampire psion Kalashtar who looked extremely young due to being turned at a young age. She was the one who threw the yacht at the head of the monster.

To be honest, the monster wasn't even a real sheet. I had a notepad opened up with defenses, health and a few rough attack ideas listed, but I mainly let the players go crazy because they earned it. The numbers were inflated on both sides to give it the feel of something that shouldn't really exist on this scale.

This campaign made me realize that 4e monster building can really only be satisfying in two ways: Either you build something that absolutely works to function and then let your players fight their way out of the puzzle OR you think of the couple cool things you want it to do and let it do them before your crit-fishing son-of-a-bitch Avenger bloodies it with one attack.

There was one thing I would have liked to happen with the final monster that didn't. I never actually hit them with his sword. It was supposed to inflict self doubt and fear on the pilots (save ends). I was going to make them test TITANOR's skills in order to break out of the doldrums and refocus their FIGHTING SPIRITS.

DC recently had Superman eye-beam a gigantic gash in Earth-2, this on top of the world having been riddled with gigantic perpetually burning hellfonts by a hero-turned - supervillain as part of Earth-2's backstory. These are GLOSSED OVER, in a few panels, as a part of earth. And people still live *immediately adjacent* to the flaming hellpit. and you can just WALK IN to the ever-burning hole which is larger than some countries.

In Animal Man, the entire population of the world (barring about a half-dozen superheroes) was killed in a multi-comic crossover event... This event was not properly undone, and is unlikely to ever be fully resolved, so there's still the start of a rot-apocalypse and now the

DC will have an otherwise throwaway issue casually kill millions as minor collateral damage. Marvel at least makes it an event.

Can I just say that our GM was super great at dishing out unique, interesting encounters through us throughout the game? This one is a little more light hearted than most because, hey, end of game, but we had some really neat scenarios and custom monsters come from him.

I think probably the most memorable was when a Far Realm incursion caused a river of squirming, poisonous flesh to grow out of the sacrifices of a town full of cultists. We slew the Aboleth that was controlling the cult but still had to stop the flesh before it gained enough mass to crawl onto land and attack a city.

We had to sail on the monster we were fighting, using a combination of skill checks to manage the boat and try to negotiate or intimidate a portion of the being's insane mind and avoid hideous traps and tendrils of skin and teeth while also fighting skirmish scale battles against more aggressive hunks of the skin river that directly attacked the boat.

It was pretty cool.

I was pretty proud of that one. I drew some sprites for roll20 and everything. I'm not going to post them all, but here's probably my favorite. It floats on internal air sacs and when there's more than four within two squares of each other, they create a zone which grants them concealment.
