Previous Threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=homeless+mutant+questPastebin: http://pastebin.com/UuVeJFigYou are John James Green, mutant vagrant. After an ill-fated meeting with Peter Parker, you took a detour on the way back home, and ended up sitting at a piano in the middle of an outdoor amphitheatre, surrounded by vaguely-grungy student types. Chopin flowed back to you, and through you, and out into the night, and for the first time in a long while you felt removed from the painstaking drudgery of years gone by.The silence settles around you. You’re breathing heavily, for some reason, but you’re not tired. If anything, you feel invigorated. The music was a nourishing fugue, like the sudden shock of clear, cold spring water – you’re not sure how well you played, and after four years without practice, you have little in the way of hope, but you know you produced something, at least. You let your shoulders slacken, taking your hands off the keys. They’re shaking. It takes you a moment to realize that you shouldn’t really be without your gloves, and you fumble them back on. You feel somewhat deafened by the pall of silence that descended in the absence of your notes, the winter chill, the gasping sun, and the stone beneath your feet reaching you only in waves, as if reduced to pulses of light passing through a heavy mist. You glance across the faces that dot the half-light. They stare with mystified, baffled wonder. You can see Laura at the back, her face arranged into an awkward, indecipherable expression. Your cheeks are wet.“…Dude.” Says somebody. Someone in the front? You’re not sure. “Do you, like, teach this stuff or something?” Hah. You guess your age might be a little fuzzy with the hood and the sunglasses keeping everything nice and vague.

That you just got back from playing at the Royal Albert, and you’re dressed like a hobo because that’s just what wacky artists do?“I sell newspapers for a living.” You reply, wiping the thin streaks of moisture from under your eyes. You hope that, in the dying light, it looked like you were just adjusting your shades or something. This is probably the part where one of two of them start wondering if they’ve run into some kind of piano-master serial killer or a hobo with a horrible debilitating (and, most importantly, contagious) disease. But, then again, fuck Creeper. Creeper is a singularly disgusting individual and there’s quite the marked difference between working for some minor crook and a possibly insane drug baron. That said, you’re not actually sure who runs The Tabbycat. God, you hope it hasn’t been acquired by Creeper or Mister Negative or some other superpowered clown. You’ve had your fill of being threatened by people with superpowers. “Well…” You scratch your neck absently. “I wouldn’t be doing anything illegal, you know?” Your answer is a blank stare. You should probably stop inserting those little microquestions around Laura, because she will clearly never know. “I’d just be playing piano.” For great tips. Blood money tips, but… probably very generous ones. “But yeah, I’m only thinking about it. The prospect of working with the mob doesn’t exactly thrill me.”
>(2/2)“I see.” She states, staring straight ahead. She is silent for a moment, before a thought occurs to her: “With your senses, such a position may be useful for reasons other than monetary gain. Information can be valuable.” You hadn’t considered that. The two of you make your way out of the park and into the arterial frenzy of the city. You stroll a short way before stopping for a bite beside one of the many hot dog stands that dot NY. The place is closing up soon, and you get the last, manky servings, but you needed something warm. You scarf your food down while Laura paces her way through the meal beside you. The sun has dipped out of sight. >(1/2)>[X] MORTAL COMBAT“Well…” You begin, fighting to stave off a sudden flood of Karate Kid flashbacks. “I think I need to know how to fight. I mean, I don’t like fighting, but, you know, just in case.” You feel the tiniest hint of a lie clinging to your breath there. It’s… small, barely even a real falsehood, but it’s something. Sure, you hate fighting. Sure, it’s barbaric and stupid and it’s viable to get you in more trouble than it’s worth. Sure, beating dudes up for money was wrong. But you can’t deny that part of you found it thrilling as fuck. A good scrap used to satisfy some inner yearning that had no outlet before you started working for Creeper. The rush of the blood, the sharpness of breath, the crack and the thud and in some cases the splat… there was some itch in there that got very much scratched. There was something very, disconcertingly, natural about it.And now you have claws. And fangs. Laura raises one eyebrow very slightly. “You faced some kind of opposition Sacred Tree.” Sacred Tree? The orphanage, right. “Do you not know any means of combat at all?”
>(2/2)You grin lopsidedly. “I know how to scrap. I’m not really much of a real fighter.” “I see.” She considers it in silence for a moment. You catch a small, hesitant something at the fringe of her brilliant greens. “I can teach you how to fight.” It takes you a little under an hour to make your way back. By the time you reach the apartments the wind has kicked pack up again, howling angrily across the snowy desolation of the scar, as if recalling the fire that brought the place low. You head in hurry inside, eager to be out of the cold for a little while. As you ascend the stairs Laura comments that you should rest a little before the two of you begin. You arrive in the apartment to mildly enthusiastic greetings. The air is streaked with tatters of warmth, Noriko trying her hand at cooking up something palatable. You hope she’s not worse than Kevin. >>28767888They're small, but none of them are less than half of a normal person.
There is a vicious rummer going around that we could make ourselves normal looking with Invisibility Lvl4>I personally don't believe it but maybe Crusty can shed some light here.>>28767875They liked it>>28767793We're strong enough. Don't forget we're stealth build.
>>28767912Yeah, as much as I want senses 5, it's not happening anytime soon, so might as well let others be invisible with us.Since we're going Mortal Combat training, are we Reptile?
>>28767965Pretty much, except we don't spit acid Yet
>>28767888>GabyHow the fuck did I not think of taking the goddamn teleporter with us? I mean yeah, she won't be cool with participating in a crime, but instant escape route (maybe)!
>>28767953Could we take 1.4 black people with us?
>>28767982>How the fuck did I not think of taking the goddamn teleporter with us?Because we don't really know her yet and asking her to help a stranger commit a crime is a shitty idea.Where is the powers pastebin? With a list of all the powers and levels.
>>28767984If you're making a 3/5ths compromise joke, get it right. It'd be 1.66 repeating black people.
>>28767875As a latecomer, I just can't believe no one doggedly pursued pheromone manipulation. It's just a step away from light mind control! I know our man JJ isn't that kind of guy, but that would have been near the top of the list of useful abilities for a hobo.
>>28768019How many Mexicans can we squeeze into that space?
>>28767982Gaby spazzed out over "We're not gambling!" when saw them playing cards.we gotta God Squad member here. Probably feels like shit she had to to steal our food.
>>28768024We wanted to, but once we could buy level 2 in one go. Level 1 had strong drawbacks.
>>28768039Well, considering twenty of them fit into a four door sedan? We'd be able to take 4 whole mexicans.
>>287680391 metric Gaby
>>28767965Correct me if I'm wrong but Enhanced Senses Level 4 gives us daredevil's echolocation power.
>>28768084I just know 5 is JJ Sense (Spider Sense for non-Lizard Elves). I want it bad.
>>28768084If I recall correctly, its just a step up
>>28767997>Where is the powers pastebin? With a list of all the powers and levels.O-oh yeah... That thing...Seriously though, I'm just giving you it when your powers unlock.
To be fair, we can easily afford the cinema's rates if we don't buy their overpriced crap. Only issue would maybe be Gaby, and she can sneak in easily with her teleporter set.

That anon stopped posting this >>28768255 the last couple of threads>>28768176you should just roll up your sleeves and make one Crusty. save you a lot of trouble in the long run.I'll give you something if you do....http://www.mediafire.com/download/5k4o51409oeznpa/X-23+-+Innocence+Lost.zip

>>28768084So far Crusty hasn't confirmed anything new for Lv.4. I'm still holding out for an electromagnetic sense given we have two related powers.
who do you hope we bump into down the road fellow questers?
>>28768279Eh, I dled that two threads after you rolled Laura. I'll get it done, though.
>>28768382I'm hoping Magneto, get on his good side for once.
>>28768382Squirrel Girl, Doctor DOOM!, Stephen Strange.
>>28768382>>28768421It'd be funny if we meet all these horrid villains, and somehow end up being on their really good side despite us wanting to be a good person.
>>28768440>>28768437>implying Magneto is a villain
>>28768437We don't really have a reason to be on magnetos bad side to be honest.
>>28768465
>>28768024Because everyone wants the guy we play as to be a goody two shoes never does anything wrong is a complete and total saint. Not that that's inherently bad or anything, but almost every single quest the MC is that kind of person. It's boring. It's why I'm glad that we're probably going to pursue the mob entertainer.
>>28768382I'm not that into major player cameos, to be honest. D-List muties are more fun to me.
>>28768483It's kind of funny that our guy is a hobo and is this pretty smart and good-natured despite that. Because if you've ever met or dealt with the homeless on a daily basis, you'd know that almost none of them are like that.
>>28768504I would like a good mix of both, with maybe some non-mutie characters showing up.
>>28768440>>28768465>>28768476Does everyone have this sequence saved somewhere? It's almost the iconic Mags Moment by now.
>>28768504From Cap to Batroc I don't care the status, i just want to hear whom you would like to seeBatroc might be cool though..
>>28768518I think JJ comes from a rather well off household. He wasn't always a hobo.
>>28768518>Because if you've ever met or dealt with the homeless on a daily basis, you'd know that almost none of them are like that.>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yreZUmtTR0s
>>28768537I had to hunt those down off of google when I got the new laptop (that's why one pic is bigger than the others.)It sums up who he is and what's he's about succinctly.also cool as fuck. From X-men Mythos if anyone is curious
>>28768555He's been a hobo for what? 3 or 4 years? Trust me, that's long enough for a straight A student to turn into a guy who would steal and hurt others to get food or even something as little as a scarf.
>>28768602Four years is correct.>>28768555Also correct. Your dad was thrown out by his parents with basically whatever he brought to college with him, but your mother was moderately wealthy. You guys owned that stretch of land near the lakeside.
>>28768685>You guys owned that stretch of land near the lakeside.Damn. That's pretty cool.
Mmm... Yeah, I'd still want to have a positive interaction with Magneto, he always seemed like the distant-father type to me.
>>28768685>>28768741Land is still probably owned by the "Greens," even if the house got torched.Maybe we'll find a way to slip the cordon and make it back to Michigan.
>>28768822The Green family has most likely been declared dead and the house and property has been foreclosed/claimed.only through litigation could we dream of reclaiming the material scraps of our pastsoo...She Hulk or Daredevil? hope for pro bono?
>>28768822>Maybe we'll find a way to slip the cordon and make it back to Michigan.Fuck, new home to the X-Men.Or Midwest X-Men.
>>28768822Well, if we get 5th lvl of invisibility, we can just grab a car and drive there invisible.
>>28768873I think we'd be better off with She-Hulk, but I don't imagine either of them are licensed to practice in Michigan. We'd need to find a local (pro-)mutie lawyer who's willing to do pro bono or whatever weird services JJ & Friends can provide.
>>28768873I don't think Daredevil will handle cases like this if he did might have to face a lot of opposition. Also with She hulk
>>28768873She Hulk. If pro bono doesn't work she could take it out in "trade"
>>28768890JJ can't drive.
>>28768895Pro-mutie? He's pro-whatever you want him to be
Do we know who attacked us and burnt our house?
>>28768954Laura can, we just need to deliver the sweet JJ invisibility juice.
>>28768971People, probably.
>>28768971It was obviously Cave Johnson.
>>28769002Us gamers, huh? Us gamers.
>>28769035Shush, Lemonlord. We know your secrets and we shall use them to have potato.
Ok, so are we really going to try that tabbycat? I don't think that's such a good idea anymore.
>>28769100we need more money and there aren't any better options on the table
>>28769120We should really think about a stakeout of the place, see who frequents the place first before moving in.
>>28769100Yeah...I don't think a mob club is the best spot.I'm not even sure if any sort of public performance is a good idea. We only did so well because we got really, really lucky.
>>28769201>>28769120Don't pussy out you faggots. This is our big chance to get some cash money millionaires. We're not selling drugs, we're not hurting anyone, the mob isn't going to give a fuck that we're a mutant, they probably love mutants for helping them in their dirty work. Grow a pair.
>>28769235>*Grows second pair of balls*>Is now a mutie>shit.jpg
>>28769235mugga I'm >>28769120 for working the Tabby cat
>>28769120You know, we COULD try to ask for a job as a pianist in a couple of legit places first.
>>28769265Sorry. Was meant for >>28769100
>>28769283our eyes and ears limit our options
>>28769303True, but that just means we have to find a hipster cafe or something and ask from there.
>>28769351So>>28764907is it worth it?
>>28769376and earn the wrath of Dark Wizard Alan Moore?I say thee neigh!
>>28769415but think of the hipster dollars!
>>28769376We can do it without the mask.
