You decide to locate the Frost brothers, in the hopes of hearing their take on why the heck the New UNE was producing new remote weaponry-capable Mobile Suits. You eventually find them on one of the catwalks in the eastern hangar, being rather quiet. You assumed they were conversing amongst themselves, as they hadn't noticed you yet.Shrugging, you attempt to get their attention."Shagia, Olba, do you two have a moment?" you ask, stepping forward. The elder of the two brother lifts his head and looks in your direction, nodding."Of course, David." he replies. "What is it that you need?""I wanted to ask you guys about something regarding the New UNE..." you say, crossing your arms."The New UNE?" repeats Olba, raising an eyebrow."Yeah." you say. "What do you guys think? What could they have done that would have warranted building new remote weapon using Mobile Suits? Didn't Garrod and the others defeat their Newtype candidates back in Asia?""There are a few possibilities..." replies Shagia, rubbing his chin. "They could have recovered another Gundam with a registered Newtype signature, allowing the new Rasvehts to control their Bit Mobile Suits without the use of a Newtype... They might have found a way to create remote weaponry that's solely computer operated, or they might have broken new ground on their Cyber Newtype research...""Cyber Newtype... Like Carris?" you say, furrowing your brow.Olba nods, his mouth in a tight line."Essentially, yes." he says, nodding. "Both the SRA and UNE were, at the time, looking for ways to create artificial Newtypes... although, the UNE could never create a Cyber Newtype capable of accessing the Flash System; it would only recognize a genuine Newtype, such as you or Jamil.""So... it's entirely possible that they finally managed to do it, then?" you say. The implications of such a feat... They could field a large number of mobile suits with only a fraction of them requiring pilots...(Cont'd.)
"Maybe." replied Shagia. "It's only guesswork and hearsay at this point, but it's possible nonetheless.""I see..." you say. "Thanks, you guys. When the Silver Horizon finally lands at the East African ESTO outpost, you immediately head to the hangar to see what looks like your GX Bits being loaded aboard, although they looked remarkably different from the machines you remembered. For one, they now resembled your Hyper-Spec more than a basic Gundam X, although they still lacked the solar panels mounted on the body that your Hyper-Spec and a Gundam X would normally have.In addition, rather than the Shield Buster Rifle they would normally carry, they sported a Buster Sheath Rifle and Holster Shield in their right and left hands, in addition to being outfitted with shoulder-mounted gatling cannons and leg-mounted missile launchers, like that of your Hyper-Spec. They numbered five in total, and from what you could gather from one of the officers loading them aboard, one of the new Hyper GX Bits was converted from your Bit Gundam X.>MS Acquired: Hyper GX Bit x 5You can either stick around to check out your new toys, or you can explore the outpost a bit to see if there's anything else of interest. He can go to and from the Mess Hall and nearby bathrooms, albeit, as long as he has an escort.Commander Roiza is currently debating upon whether or not he would be more valuable as a prisoner, or a pilot for their forces, as it's clear that Lancerow's loyalty to the SRA has been severely shaken.

As much fun as it would be to drool over your new toys, you'd like to see what kind of conditions the ESTO has their officers working in out here while you can. With Garrod and Pala riding with you in a Buggy stored aboard the ship Why a land vehicle was in a space ship, you'll never know... out into the intense African heat. The outpost itself is what remains of an old UNE base, and judging from the wreckage of Balients, Daughtress Neos, Crusaders, and other, miscellaneous Mobile Suits, that the officers here now had fought hard to claim this base as their own.You take a moment to regard a kneeling Crusader, fitted with High-Speed Close Combat parts... or what was left of them. The MS itself, save for the cockpit block was largely intact, and that the butt of the Beam Lance, which was long since depleted of energy, was embedded deep into the head of a Balient, which was missing its lower legs. You, Garrod, and Pala give the Mobile Suit a salute, and you can swear that for a split second, you saw someone return the gesture.Aside from the amount of available mobile suits numbering on the small side, the amount of tanks and support aircraft looked to make up for that disadvantage, and according to one of the officers, it's been months since they had taken the base, and had remained theirs with no word from the New UNE.It would take about another hour for the rest of the supplies to be loaded, so you have a little time to kill. And make sure to get some parts for that totally-not-buster rifle upgrade for our Gundam.
You return to the air-conditioned bliss of the ship, under the pretense of seeing how Ennil is doing. While it's not exactly a lie, you knew that Ennil was far stronger than you were giving her credit for. Still, it didn't hurt to pay her a visit and hang out while Garrod and Pala took inventory down in the hangars.According to her, Techcs had cleared her to be able to leave her room, provided she had someone with her. You, of course, being the only other "someone" available at the moment, found yourself with her latched onto your arm as the two of you went down to the mess hall. While she picked a rather sensible lunch of a salad and turkey sandwich, you opted for a cheeseburger and tater tots, with jello for dessert. No amount of disapproving looks from Ennil could keep you from your wobbly, fruit flavored treat, no sir. After you escort her back to her room, and making sure she didn't need anything else you head down to the hangar, intent on getting your hands dirty.Garrod and Pala had sorted out the spare parts, and fortunately, there was still quite a bit to work with. Looking at what you had available, you had some more ideas pop into your head, and it's not long before you're brainstorming up ideas for new equipment, all of which will take the rest of the week you're stationed here.>Build Sub-Flight Platform. The four of you decide to head to the nearest Tavern.Although it was indeed open all day, according to its sign, alcoholic beverages weren't served until 7:00 PM, which was fine with you; getting shitfaced drunk wasn't the purpose behind your group's visit here, after all.The four of you find a table, and sit down. You're approached by one of the waitresses, asking if you wanted anything to eat, to which you all declined, and while you said you'd be fine with water for now, Shagia ordered a glass of iced tea, Roybea ordered a Shirley Temple, and Witz decided to have a glass of cola.As you wait on the waitress to deliver your friends' drinks, you scan the room, looking for possible sources of information. At the bar is a young, dark-skinned man wearing a turban and cloak, and there seemed to be a middle aged man with a rather impressive mustache and a bit of a paunch to him, playing billiards. You could also chat up the barkeep, and see what he knew, or perhaps it would be best if you waited until your waitress returned, so you could ask her.>Wait for the waitress.>Chat up the barkeep.>Talk to the man in the turban.>Shoot the shit with the mustachioed gentleman.>Write in

Alright folks, hang tight while I whip up a post...
You're led by Mr. Brady, Soran. and the third man, who has his hair brushed over one of his eyes, into the building, and Brady gestures for you and the others to step into an elevator. As old as it looked, it held the weight of all seven of you no problem. It was a good five minutes before you could see where the elevator was taking you, as all you and the others could see were the walls of the elevator shaft... at least until your eyes were greeted with bright fluorescent lights, illuminating what seemed to be an underground hangar of decent size. There were four mobile suits, one of them being a modified Jenice with a blue paint scheme, curved spikes in place of the Jenice's standard straight ones, and a head crest added onto the top of the head. It also seems to be carrying a large heat saber, its right arm seemed to be modified to incorporate a Heat Wire, and its left arm mounted a magazine-fed three barrel machine gun, with a Daughtress' shield mounted over the top of it.Another looked to be a Balient, no doubt captured for their purposes, but the most noticeable differences from other Balients that you've seen were the large physical blades jutting out of the forearms, that looked to be able to unfold into a forward position, and the white and blue Gundam-esque paintjob. There was a white High Mobility Daughtress, outfitted with what looked to be a double-barreled take on the Daughtress Weapon's backpack, and Beam Cutters, no doubt salvaged from a Daughtress Neo, mounted to its forearms. Carried in its manipulator looked to be some sort of large handheld weapon, fashioned out of a Leopard's arm-mounted gatling gun.The last one was an Airmaster, but with a slightly altered loadout and an orange paintjob. The Buster RIfles were now mounted to the shoulders, while on the arms were missile launchers. There were a handful of other mobile suits, but they were mainly Daughtress Tanks, with the odd Jenice thrown in for good measure.(Cont'd.)
"Impressed?" asks Brady, smirking. Were you impressed? They've been managing to fight off the New UNE and remain hidden so far, using outdated and stolen machines? You'd be lying if you said you weren't. Two, who pilots what?""Having the entire city of El Dar Samnia supporting you from the shadows certainly helps. As for who pilots what... Well...""I pilot that one."The four of you turn around to come face to face with a rather dour looking purple-haired woman, adjusting her glasses as she looks at your group."Iris." states Soran flatly."Soran. Mr. Brady." says Iris in a similar tone, not bothering to name Sid, who looks a bit irate at that. "Might I ask why you've brought these strangers to our base?""Mr. Brady trusts them, and they want to help. That's enough for me." replies Soran."They claim to be part of a group of sympathizers that also oppose the New UNE, and wish to assist us in our efforts to drive their presence from Africa's borders." adds Brady, crossing his arms. "Were they an enemy, I would not have taken the risk of allowing them to come this far. Is that satisfactory, Iris?"The woman says nothing, and simply turns on her heel, and marches off to her mobile suit.Bitch got TOLD.Now that you've been introduced to who you assume to be the aces of the group and their machines, it's time you discussed details. "Now, just from looking, you guys seem severely outclassed, both tech-wise and numbers-wise. I imagine you all primarily use guerilla tactics, right?" you say, looking at Soran."Yes... we do what we can with what we have available." he replies."We don't have much, but we fight to keep our city and her people safe." Sid adds, nodding. "In return, the people keep our presence a secret, and help to cover our tracks.""That's incredibly dangerous, relying on them like that." notes Shagia. "Sometimes, loyalty can be bought, or negotiated for. What if one of the citizens you've trusted to keep your location a secret has a loved one held hostage by the enemy? They might have to divulge the information you've trusted them to keep secret in exchange for the hostage's life, for example.""That is a risk we are prepared to take." says Brady, crossing his arms. "If the New UNE promises the safe return of a loved one for information regarding the resistance, we can promise their safe return, and justice delivered to the bastards that took them hostage in the first place.""You guys see yourself as more than just an organization, don't you?" you say. It wasn't so much a question as it was a statement, but it was a question nonetheless."We are... people bound and motivated by loss... people that lost our families and friends, and found a new one by joining the Resistance." says Soran, who seems unable to keep eye contact with you or the others."There are those of us who also lost their homes, and so found a new one in the Resistance as well." adds Sid, resting a hand on Soran's shoulder."I see..." you say.(Cont'd.)
Well, they certainly seemed driven, that was for sure. You weren't -quite- sure you could trust them to the point of giving them the latest in ESTO technology, but perhaps it would be a gamble worth taking...>Yes; they could use Mobile Suits that can stand a chance against the New UNE's forces.>Yes; with some proper modifications, they can get some more mileage out of these old Mobile Suits.>No; You need to become more familiar with them than that before you think about giving them anything beyond your help.>No; you'll give them your help and nothing more. Today's ally may become tomorrows enemy, after all.
>>29032646>Yes; with some proper modifications, they can get some more mileage out of these old Mobile Suits.Plus, long term the ESTO is an alliance, its not like they can join if they want.
Just the one response? I'll give you guys ten more minutes, then I'm gonna go ahead and write.
>>29032646>>Yes; with some proper modifications, they can get some more mileage out of these old Mobile SuitsI flipped a coin, this was the result
Alrighty then... SInce it's gotten so late, I'll pick things back up tomorrow. Don't expect me to post on Christmas, though. See you guys around the same time tomorrow, k?
>>29032646> Yes; with some proper modifications, they can get some more mileage out of these old Mobile Suits.First let's help them out a little bit, get familiar with them and earn their trust. After that, we'll decide on our next move.
So we've got Setsuna, Tieria and Allelujah expies working for Ral?
Do these guys have any plans on what to do once they're freed from NUNE control? Whom are they going to leave in charge? That'd sorta determine whether we can invite the guys into ESTO or not.
No game today, I suppose?
>>29050186Guess not. OP must be busy with Christmas preparations or some shit. Christmas Eve is tomorrow, after all.
