>Recap

The foe you had been preparing for finally arrived on Earth. But, rather than face you directly, he stayed in orbit, and sent five of his men down to the planet. You confronted this group, "The Ginyu Force", and made short work of them, though one of their members, Guldo, escaped. Your mysterious enemy sent a mighty energy blast down from orbit, intending to destroy the planet, but you hurled it back into space. Finally, he came down to Earth to confront you directly. He revealed himself to be King Cold, father of Frieza and Cooler. Surprisingly, rather than immediately try to kill you, he offered to allow you and your companions to replace his sons within the Planet Trade Organization. You refused, and launched a vicious attack on Cold while the others dealt with his men. During the fight, you dodged a powerful energy attack, which then struck the planet, which began to come apart. You instructed the others to retrieve Kami, and get off planet. You also contacted Bulma, and instructed her to have ships prepared, and to get herself, her family, and Fluffy offworld. You dealt with King Cold in an extremely brutal fashion, and barely escaped the planet in his ship. You travelled to Mars, where Fita's parents have provided you with a new ship to travel to Namek.

Your ship is prepared.

It took only moments for Fita's parents to attach a space pod to the ship, as you requested. They also made sure the ship was properly stocked with enough food to feed a hungry saiyan and his crewmates for however long the voyage takes. They confirm that the gravity chamber is up and running, and that the ship is fueled up.

"Everything is prepared for your departure, my lord" the male tells you. "We are certain you will find the ship to your liking."

"In addition, we have locked down all of the other ships, as you requested" the female tells you. "Is there anything else you would ask of us before you depart?"

>>
>>29491385
I think we should address the crew. let them know they worked for cold, so you don't exactly trust them, but now that he's gone, as long as non of them try anything, they're safe

or something like that
>>
>>29491458
This, plus let them know the name of their new ship.
>>
>>29491473
Which I think we should re-christen the NSE Enterprise.

A lot less abrasive than "Vanguard". Vanguard, in military parliance, implies that there's more where that came from and that we plan to use them.
>>
You know, I think we could totally start a new empire now.

now that we have so many super saiyans, and we beat Cold, there isn't much left to challenge us.

since Vegeta was planning this already, im sure he has a plan set up. you don't just order hundreds of space ships made for nothing. once everything is set with Bardock and Earth, we could get started on the NSE
>>
>>29491529
Why should we have an empire? Everyone seems happy on Earth as they are, and we saw what happened every other time we tried to make an Empire.
>>
>>29491529
I don't understand why we'd want to, considering Freeza, Cooler and Cold.
>>
>>29491529
>>29491551
When we spoke with Vegeta, the idea was to run it much more like a federation with a peacekeeping force at the very top rather than as a unitary polity.
>>
>>29491551
well we can't just let some tyrant screw with all those other planets, and now that there's a power vacuum with all the cold family dead. Vegeta obviously wanted it, and I'm saying we're probably gonna be along for the ride anyway

>>29491593
this is exactly what I meant. empire doesnt automatically mean its gonna be evil, we could set it up democratically, more like a coalition to protect planets from people like Frieza, Cooler and Cold

"Working on anything special?" you ask.

"At the moment, we are deciding how best to continue making this planet more pleasing for the Saiyans" the male tells you. "We were supposed to work with an Earth based organization known as Capsule Corporation to transport some animals and set up an ecosystem here."

"But, with the Earth destroyed, we will need to give some thought about where to go from here" the female tells you. "We will contact you or Prince Vegeta if we come up with any ideas."

"That will be all" you tell them. "You've been a big help."

As they leave, you turn to address the alien you have dubbed "Mr. Sulu", a yellow skinned alien with small eyes. You tell him to set course for Namek, and he rushes to do as you have instructed. The ship takes off at once, and you soar at amazing speeds towards Namek.

I take it we have to use the Namekian Dragon bollocks to wish back earth, and the earth ones to wish back all the life that was destroyed on it?

i thought he is bound to the lookout. so he should reapear as soon as the lookout reapears
>>

Namekian balls cant revive more than one person at a time so we need to wish the population back with the earth dragon balls

Namek:
Wish Earth back

Wish Kami back

Earth:

then wish back Kami and him and Piccolo will be back.

>>
>>29492731
could we just wish back all life cooler and cold killed on earth as one wish? this would include kami, bradock, all the other life on earth, and we would still ahve 2 wishes back on namek ()for planet and guardian of mars

namekian balls cant wish more than one persona back. bardock was already revived with earth balls, so we need namekian balls for him, and since we need the earth balls back, we need to wish kami back with namek balls

With the gravity chamber not of any use to you, you decide to try to find a way to control your Super Saiyan 2 form.

You begin by powering up to Super Saiyan, the form so natural it's nearly instantaneous these days. You close your eyes and focus your power, unleashing all of the energy lying beneath the surface.

The entire ship begins to shake, tiles rise up from the floor and hover in the air, held there by your power. The rumbling gets worse as your aura goes from a strong gust to a raging maelstrom. The computer at the center of the room sparks, and explodes from the power you are emitting. The walls crack, and begin to break apart. Lightning adds to your aura, and the wall to the hallway crumbles. With a final yell, you complete the transformation, and the ship shakes uncontrollably.

Because
1: You think for Frank, he knows only what you know. If you didn't know for sure it would be dangerous, neither did he.

2: You are powering into a form that impares your judgment immensely and takes a great deal of focus to reach, did you honestly expect you would have the clarity of thought to power down?
>>
>>29495239
No.

If this game is going to survive the night, SOM needs to realize how close he's come to alienating the overwhelming majority of what players he has left.

We powered down several times against King Cold with no difficulty.

This is a result of you wanting drama, and taking any action to force it. Including selectively ignoring player input.
>>
>>29495283
I think neither of those things were described in a way we could be sure about. Our perception of the risk of transformation needed to be informed that we fucking exploded every time we took the form, not just the first time. Because that wasn't made clear at all.

Nonetheless, we're all not having fun with this right now. Please, walk this back.
>>

what now? does ho know what we know? then he would have known, like stated, that when shit begann to fall apart, he wold have to stop
does he have ic knowledge we don't have? then, as someone who has entered the state several time, would know about the possible damage and be carefull

please be consistent with your explanaition. if you take only a part out of someones suggestions and use this part against them, people will start screaming murder. at this moment, you could also have gone the big-asteroid-hits-ship-out-of-nowhere routine

>>

This isn't the same thing at all, it wasn't a boneheaded idea with obvious consequences, it was a disconnect between our perception and yours. One that was accounted for in the suggestion itself. This isn't hand holding its a fucking fair thing to do.

You order the crew to take you to the nearest planet immediately. They frantically enter commands into the main computer, and your ship changes course, flying towards a planet in the distance.

You reach the planet in minutes, and shoot through the atmosphere. you crash through several buildings before hitting the ground, your ship exploding and forming a massive crater where you hit.

You rise to your feet and look around. The debris from your ship are scattered everywhere, and you see the corpses of most of your crewmen. You can't sense the other ones, so they are most likely dead too.

You pick and choose from people suggestions to produce the worst possible outcome, then basically blame your players for being dumb. And when we challenge you, you get all fucking defensive and plow ahead with whatever it was you had planned this time. You refuse to even admit the possibility that you made a mistake. That you were wrong.

That's why people are pissed at you. That's why your quest keeps hemorrhaging posters.
>>
>>29495610
>obvious consequences
Obvious in character. Obvious to Frank in the way the suggester said not to do it if it was the case.
>>
>>29495668
To be very honest, a lot of the player decisions ever since thread one have been absolutely idiotic.
>>
>>29495668

>>29495684
Obvious in character yet you all decided to do it. You control Frank, you make his decisions, all he knows in character is what you know. You are his character.

The problem is you fucked up the suggestion. It said not to do it if it was dangerous. Frank KNEW he caused damage every time he transformed. This is your mistake.
>>
>>29495701
First to three voting hardly offers incentives to intelligent planning.
>>
>>29495668
>You pick and choose from people suggestions to produce the worst possible outcome
No, that's wrong.

First to three is a shit system.

THat's all.
>>
>>29495610
that's basicaly the same as a player says i open the door to the treasure room, but i carefully look for traps. if anything seems fishy, i leave it. and the dm goes you kick in the door because you are greedy for loot. 50k crossbowbolts hit you in the nuts.
tecnically, yes, the pc probably is greedy and wants treasure, because, why else would he be there. still, it is a dick move to circumvent the players precaution. that just takes the decision from the players and makes them feel basically irellevant to the quest. and this is the problem in this moment. it is not the usual "my idea was 10000 times better, why not choose it" crying and not the lolrandom crowd
>>
>>29495715
"Going Super Saiyan 2" didn't win the vote. Trying to do it while aware that it could damage the ship won. And yet, you had us plow ahead through the transformation regardless of the consequences and contrary to what we fucking voted for.
>>
>>29495715
>Obvious in character
BUT THE SUGGESTION ACCOUNTED FOR THAT. IT HAD A FUCKING CLAUSE NOT TO DO THAT IF IN CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE SAID IT WAS A BAD IDEA.
>>
>>29495438
I pointed out we broke the ki proof room before. I've been in here since quest 1 but I'm europoor so I don't do much input. If som wanted to be harsh he could just state ship explodes and make us go to afterlife. You guys are all just too stupid to think back to Last thread even and then complain. Seems like too many of you have grown up in the era of quick saves in games. You fucked up deal with it. Bot what I wanted to see happen in quest but I get to laugh at you all cry atleast.
>>
>>29495752
I gave up on that argument something like fifty threads ago. I'm TRYING to make the most of what we've been handed.

>>29495746
This is a valid point

>>29495767
The difference is, the example you gave is something you would have much more control of. Halfway through an extremely powerful transformation that clouds your judgement is not really a time you would have control like that.

>>29495796

>>29495823

>>29495832
Yes, the blame rests squarely on my shoulders. It has nothing to do with the fact that many of the players cry like children every time they make a stupid choice that has negative consequences.

Yeah, you may to reassess this policy /after/ the end of this thread, since QMs commonly slap down invalid player actions with "It's not IC", whether consequences are good or bad.
>>
>>29495864
>And that translates too "We're not sure if this is a bad idea, but since we don't know for sure that it is, we're going with it anyway"
NO IT TRANSLATES TO "WE MIGHT DO THIS IF IT ISN'T A BAD IDEA. BASED ON IN CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE." IGNORING THE SUGGESTION WAS PART OF THE SUGGESTION

All you had to do was do an update saying "Frank thinks back to every time he has transformed and decides not to risk the ship."

Basically, the takeaway is this: we're not actually in control of our character, because all of our decisions and input will be run through the filter of SOM and come out the other side as shit. He dictates Frank's state of mind, his intentions, his abilities, and the results of his actions.

Why the fuck are we even here.

actually no, that's not the difference. both have the players take precaution against a certain scenario, and both have these precaution ignored. the statement wase clear about that point and emphasized that if franks in character knowledge would advise against this step, he wouldn't take it

you see what i am trying to say here? this is not me trying to insult somebody, i just want to show under what idea this idea was voted for, (at least as i gavi it my vote) and under what conception people were by this vote, and how harshly it differs to what actually happened. this is not a case of bad decisionmaking but rather a case of missconception

I don't see how anyone couldn't see it coming. Super powerful transformation that broke a ki proof room. "Yes please, that would be great" you tell him. "The more time I have to practice, the better, right?"

He nods. "Alright, it is quite simple. You simply need to lock on to a specific ki signature, and then imagine that person and imagine yourself transmitting there."

After a short time of practice, you are able to utilize the technique, teleporting to various locations on the planet. You can sense the others in the distance, and by focusing on one you could transmit yourself there.

>A. Say something

Warp on over. "Guess who learned to teleport?"

"Also I sorta had the impression that I could turn into my new form with minimal disruption. Didn't work out."

>>29497668
What are you going on about now?
>>
>>29497690
Also, is it truly instant? Could I go all the way across the galaxy without it taking a year?

Cause if we can sense her, I'd like to visit Huhn-Tresh and get ourselves a new blade. Or invite her to visit Earth once it exists again.
>>
>>29497739
oh damn that sounds like a plan
>>
>>29497739
>we IT to her planet

>we meet her descendants, who kinda look sorta like us
>we learn her race procreates through ki - that sparring match was actually a mating dance, and she assumed you knew
>>
>>29497739
>>29497777
It would be truly instant, but you'd need to be near enough to whatever world she is on to sense her
>>
>>29497739
Nah those things are too fragile at our current power levels. And as for the Huhn-Tresh... we have enough goddamn waifus.
>>
>>29497791
While that sounds like the kind of dick move SOM would pull, she clearly knew we were an outsider, so she would have known that we knew nothing of her people's biology or customs.
>>
>>29497811
Since we imbue them with our energy, they'd only be as fragile as any part of our body.

Also, you bring waifus in defensively like that and you make yourself look like a goddamn idiot. I never even implied anything other than that dropping back in on an old character who we hung out with for a while and then left, never to be heard from again, might be nice.
>>
>>29497663
>>29497690
>>29497697

You transmit back to Rareoad.

"So, is there any limit to range on this thing?" you ask.

"No, so long as you can sense where you are going, you can travel there no matter how far it is" he tells you.

"And it's really instant?" you ask. "If I travel the galaxy it won't take a year?"

"That is correct" he tells you.

"Thank you again, would you like to learn one of my techniques?" you ask.

He smiles. "No, thank you. I know all I desire to."

You say goodbye and use your instant transmission to reach the others on one of the two ships. You sense Salta, Spina, and Fita. Which energy signature should you focus on?

>>
>>29498036
So? If that's the direction that eventually went in, would you be hell-bent on stopping it? Even if your thoughts on the matter are by your own admission that Frank would end up nailing her?

If you answered "yes", you need to consider why you're so opposed to it out of character regardless of what would make sense in character.

But really, anyone but Salta would be fine. We know in-character how easily startled she is.

On the flip side, it would make space travel irrelevant if we could push the ability that far.

You focus on Spina's ki signature. Touching two of your fingers to your head, you teleport to her location.

You end up in the main room of one of the ships, where Spina is cuddling with Fluffy. They both look startled at seeing you suddenly appear.

You go over to Fluffy and proceed to cuddle with him. You reach out telepathically and touch his mind, asking how he has been.

You see images of him running onto the ship, Spina close behind. You feel how very much afraid he is. But you then see images of him cuddling with Spina, and that he feels better.

2: Wish for Piccolo to be back in his rice cooker, Kami comes back automatically
3: Wish Bardock back
4: Use Kami's balls to wish back all the life on Earth that was lost when it exploded. As King Cold was dead when we left, because we made sure to kill him good and dead, there is no issue.
