I am The Emperor of Dragonkind!

Hard to decide.
I'm torn between being a Dragonborn and trying to stay a part of humanity (probably with Hunger and Masked). Probably Blue. I feel least likely to be assaulted with fire, and like the idea of swimming.

On the other hand, I'd like to be a Black Wyrm, burrow to the heart of the Earth, carve vast tunnels to store my massive Gold horde, and frighten away others with my aura of terror.

Keep the dragon aspect somewhat hidden and go for celebrity. In today's culture it should be possible and size in the modern era is just a weakness. Also means not having to live in the wilderness which is fucking boring or having to have things built just so I can survive.

Worship+Majesty just seems easymode.

Does anyone else think that worship is one of the more difficult paths to immortality? I keep thinking that a dragon would really need to prove himself to avoid getting attacked by jets and SAMs. Why worship some stranger trying to lord over you, when you can blow him up?

Hunger, might be easier than first glance suggests, because there are monsters, idk how many or how big. I do assume they are made out of meat. Since dragons are high tier monsters(it says at the top of the image) they should be considered prey.

become king of a small human kingdom that doesn't know that I'm a dragon, lead them to battle against a giant army where we are sure to lose and then halfway activate my dragon form, kick ass and save the day and afterwards tell my soldiers that I have been touched by god himself to lead them to victory. then I expand my kingdom as the emperor god of mankind.

I think I would go one of two ways:

1.) Wyrm, green, worship, sagacity.
I'd live in an amazonian jungle with a remote tribe as my worshipers. My wyrmness and greenness would doubly boost my poison/acid. I could make sophisticated tunnels for myself and my followers. I could hide underground from other dragons and poison the shit out of them when they land.

2.) wyvern, crystal, hibernation, masked.
This build is entirely geared at conflict avoidance. I can camo my way out of trouble, I can build a giant, possibly hidden, crystal maze to hibernate in. I could booby trap it with crystal dust that crystalizes the interior of anyone's lungs as they breath it in. And being masked would mean that I could escape any problem entirely if I lay low long enough.

I'll open a casino. Run the seven highest stakes games at once, personally. Be the luckiest person there so the house almost always comes out ahead, but fortune is fickle enough that exciting upsets should still happen, and will probably be all the more impressive.

Color doesn't matter so much, but I figure green is the least likely to get fucked with by other dragons. When one stray bite from one of seven heads is enough to ensure that they're coming with me if I lose there won't be many deciding whatever potential gains are worth the risk.

Gold is pretty obvious as an Immortality.

With all the attacks i have wide variety of weapons for all situations, also bringing misfortune to my enemies. My scaleless body is weak, so i surface only for suprise attacks. I lurk undergroud, hibernating sometimes. My trait is attacking huge cities from below, using skeletal dragon breath, creating invincible army of undead to kill boredom. Only serious threat are other wyrms - kill on sight policy, umbral, crystal and green venom, followed by counterelement of their color if necesary.

In style it would be similar to Lost Quest, with on QM/OP/whatever replying to as many players want to play. Takes a while and is a fair deal of work for the QM but could be fun.

You see these fuck heug wings? They can make a lot of wind. Let's see your umbral breath work through that. As for misfortune, it'll save you for a while but you are unlikely to be able to do much in return in close combat. Sure, those breath weapons are mighty fancy, but a single hit will take you down and out.

Even if I get wounded, I can out pace you and heal up in another forest. Then we begin again, until you die or get bored and apologise.

Don't get me wrong, that is a fucking good strategy and would dispose of almost any dragon. There's just one problem; Behemoth. One beat of the wings and the gas is cleared. Of course, I'm likely out of my head on dragon gas by this point and thrashing around like a crazy bastard, but that's not a situation you want to be near. So as i understand it, they are unlikely to fly jets or drive tanks, but capable of some artilery fire - we have seen undeads with catapults, its not that different. In RPGs, I actually tend to play either rangers or highly technical wizards. Or I end up GMing. I don't think I've ever played a big brainless warrior. Occasionally grizzled veteran warriors.

Anyone thought of adding stats? Like Size, Toughness, Speed, Agility, and Strength? Something off to the side, to help people realize how strong or how quick some these dragons are. Like Behemoth would be Size 10, Strength 10, Toughness, Speed, Agility of 5. Black coloring adds +6 Toughness -3 Agility & Speed. So Black Behemoth would be biggest, toughest, and strongest motherfucker around. Just he's not that fast or agile. (S)He doesn't need be, tank shells don't even phase him/her, only another big dragon like him/herself could possibly injure him/her.

I would sail in the skies, i would harm no one, and always travel to somewhere where it's spring. I would be revered as bringer of spring or the deity of spring, and they would celebrate my arrival with a festival. I would Amass worshippers by, well, being a bringer of spring, maybe have shrines with shiremaidens dedicated to me.

Another highly relevant question is how much of your nasty breath attacks would it take to kill me? Being a Behemoth and in the forest (home turf, as I siad earlier. Forests heal green dragons. Obviously not wolverine levels but I'd guess enough to make a difference), I think it would take a fair amount.

So let's just assume you're pouring some fire at me and I'm still a bit doped up. Even through the delirium, it is my hypothesis (as the stakes get higher, the words and sentences get longer) that I would instinctively strike out towards anything hurting me. Even if I can't see it through the madness, I can just charge in its direction. So you only get one shot before its time to play wack-a-mole. And so we get back to the question of close ranged combat; can your breath attacks wounds me before I nick you and/or crush you?

I would guess water and lightning wouldn't be that much more damaging as a combo than they are alone. Bad but probably not as bad as fire.

I just think that poison + behemoth size and strength is immensely powerful. Enough strength to smash through scales and poison that can wreck the shit of any foe.

The only possible witnesses would be some poor villagers living miles away who could barely see the outline of a giant dragon over the mountains in the distance. I'm tiny, so my hibernation time is short - smaller even than Drakes, I probably only need to hibernate for 3 months ever decade. Fly everywhere, be forgotten when I wish.

Lets us proceed to the matter of mobility. Your flying is bad for my health. But fortunately, wings are not any more durable becouse you are behemoth, its basicly skin between your bones, right? We are yet again in scenario with water-pressure attack. Now further enhanced with several teams of rocketlauncher wielding undead fellas with sole purpose - damage your wings to the point you cannot fly. Now imagine this strategy to be succes. Your mobility is now lowered dramatically, since you are a big piece of meat. Your acceleration would not be so great and one you have some speed, you cannot turn very effectivly, right?

Now lets combine it with further planing (cause taking you down requires some extensive planning you know). Ill make several double gas traps and lure you to attack me when on the ground. when you get to the point you must turn (becouse my mobility is the same) i release the trap. I repeat the proces until you are properly weakned by skeletal gas and so mad from the other gas, that you will react to rockets fired by undead pals. when you are focused on them, ill use my ice/fire combo to inflict mortal wound and when you have nothing left, ill do the last hit with skeletal breath, turning you into my undead dragon pal.
I would turn the whack-a-mole tactic against you and profit from unfortunate madness you would be in. Since killing you in this cowardly and dishonorable way is not worth memorial, no crystals this time, ethernal friendship instad.

How about this tactic? You are making me work for it dude. Pls keep in mind that you are quite unfortunate around me.

If we're doing retroactive things, I think it's a safe bet I'd book it once the forest was on fire. Or at least stay high and watch for you. So why don't we assume there's still a forest/verdant area around. It would give me a slight advantage but you would retain the element of surprise, which would be lost by burning the forest down.

I think a water pressure attack that slices through the wings would probably work, but would be intensely painful. While this might initially seem like a plus for you, pain clears the head remarkably well and that sort of pain would probably make the delirium much less effective. With less madness and more clarity, there's going to be a serious difference in the fight. I won't be running angrily at whatever stings me, I'll be considering my next move and making a break for fresh ground (assuming my wings are currently crippled). Sagacious, remember?

So, le't assume that I've run at least some way out of the mine field of gas pockets but can't fly. Head is still woozy but I'm not hallucinating any more. Every second brings back more strength and I can avoid undead RPGs and even stamp the fuckers flat if they're close enough and don't look like bait for a trap. I was honestly going for a dragon who wants to live for a very long time and doesn't want to work too hard. Sleep for a few decades and then see what's happening in wide world. Immortality has a lot of good options, but here's the main argument I have in favor of basic dragon. With Bronze, I can straight up fly into space, so I can market my services to pull shit into orbit, or try and use my super-powered lightning breath to produce lots of energy for cheap. That should hopefully give me enough money for Gold to be incredibly easy.

Aspect is a surprisingly harder choice. Unholy, I think. Nothing should go right for inconvenient people.

How do you guys picture alliances between dragons working out? I can see guardians banding together to coordinate the defense of nearby regions. Dragons needing worship could come together to form a pantheon of sorts. What else is there that dragons could work together for?

Alright, so I'll find a hive of scum and villainy and strike a deal with the top crime bosses in town. I'll raid nearby towns for their riches and bring them back to the crime bosses. In exchange they will hide me and act like they were the innocent victims of a marauding dragon too. Because of my masked aspect they dismiss me as just another wandering menace and go back to fix up their homes. The pirate kingdom prospers under my patronage and if the locals start catching on I can hit the high seas with my pirate buddies and pillage abroad with them. I think I'll be at the advantage because reds aren't weak to water specifically and most travelers will be expecting more blues and aquatics.

Yes, I'm sure when the forestry industry comes with warrants for the destruction of my forest (which is located in northern Siberia, just to clarify), I'll just roll over and let them. Humans trying to clear even a little piece of MUH FORUST are snacks. But I imagine you'd be able to fire several volleys of rockets before needing some scrap metal, but would be able to keep going without it for days or even weeks. Seems more like ammo than food.

It seems like that would basically be stealing the golden dragon's breath attack, so I'd say no. Sorry, I can see the idea and the attraction but it doesn't seem fair in this setting. It would have to be a massive weakness to balance out basically replicating another dragon's attack.

Well it does only say that mechanical dragons APPEAR to be constructed from exotic metals, so there's your hook.

As it is we appear to be at a standstill. I have a clear advantage against you in a stand up fight, but you have the home field advantage and if you get a prolonged period to recover before I finish you off all those missiles could potentially go to waste.

A mid range, definitely. Missiles would pack a punch and seem to be hard to dodge. A close range, I'd say we're well matched. Your mechanical body is not likely to tire, unlike mine, and we're both behemoths. The thing is, if I can puncture your scale equivalent (I'm assuming that there's a layer of metal over you body or something) with my claws or teeth, then it's game over.

It also makes sense that we'd both be cautious in any fight. Neither of us can really win a was of attrition off our home ground. I tire without the spirits of nature and you need to chow down on scrap or you can't heal.

So yeah, unless someone else pitches in, it's a stand still. To anyone reading, remember he's the aggressor and I'm the wise old forest spirit that likes sleeping and waiting.

I don't know, part of the point of being in Siberia was being in the Taiga, the largest forest on Earth. So I'm pretty sure there's more of it than you can blow up and it's far too cold and snow covered to burn.

Even disregarding that, all it says is verdant areas. I could just fly to somewhere flowers are growing and heal there. Again, there's more nature than you can blow up.

I wondered about this. I assume that I would rapidly weaken and become sleepy, rather than simply die on the spot. Otherwise it's a HUGE weakness rather than something that forces you to do something every now and then.

This is assuming that we've fought once and are now seeking to destroy each other, I would come for your horde of gold. While I'm a lazy dragon that prefers waiting in the forest to obliterating other dragons, I don't wait for people to attack me. If you need to sleep on your gold, I would simply end up tracking you until I found your horde and then I'd... shit, not sure. Scatter it in some way or simply stop you sleeping on it.

Anyway, here is how i will play it out:
Turn few cities to undead legions and build underground kingdom. Tunnel to white house - undead invasion. Everyone is hostage now and must do what i say. Use satellites to locate heat signatures + nukes on any non hibernating dragon. Make any currently hibernating dragon my undead pal (hibernating - easy pray). Make more undead. Set deep underground laboratory to manufacture weapons using my umbral and skeletal breath stored in tanks. Kidnap top scientists to work there. They shall find a way to poison all oceans so no dragons will be left there. They will find a way to locate dragons and recognize dragons in human form. Arm the undead with gas weapons and put undead dragons in charge. Bring despair, misfortune and annihilation to all with army that is surrounded but unaffected by lethal mix of dragon breaths.

Meanwhile - kidnap best producers and game designers. When all is dead on the surface, i shall be entertained in my underground kingdom by remakes of old tv shows, featuring undeads. When bored, i play pc games and have orgies with dozens of kidnapped 10/10.

So, all on surface is dead, i have milions of undead underground and few thousands humans. Also need to make underground noem arch but bigger. When bored with gaming and sex, let all the stored animals and new generation of breeded humans outside. Go to deep hibernation until they repopulate the earth. Send scouts every 100 years to check their progress. Time for fun, kill them all, repeat the process. And so on and on and on.

In the end, after 5bil years and few dozen cycles of total annihilation, i turn human, sit in comfy chair and enjoy the last and final sunrise with cigar and whiskey and much deserved sense of life well spend. Then sun will destroy the earth and little smiling me.

Firstly, I think the US launching nukes everywhere would trigger a nuclear war, forcing you underground long before you expected it. In fact, it's likely that it would dsetroy human civilisation before you had the chance too and it would wipe out all non-black dragons on the surface. So you (and, by extension, me) had better be safely underground by the time you start your coup. And we better have some plants so I can have my verdant area. Maybe the light dragon breath attack could be used in place of sunlight to grow a forest or meadow.

I think exterminating all other dragons seems a bit extreme, though subjugating humanity is cool. The other problem is the dragons that can either do magic or are wyrms. Wyrms could evade you deep underground and likely attack your underground kingdom and kill you if they came on en-mass.

Personally, I'm against obliterating the surface world and all the lovely green things up there. I think enlisting more dragons and humans before creating a dragon empire is more my speed.

As for your points: I dont see wyrm attacking en-mass, mainly becouse there are but few of them (based on this thread). My underground kingdom is ofc surrounded by double gas traps as i described to you few times and my policy is kill all wurms, so i can have underground for myself.

As for underground kingdom -yes, there would have to be massive preparations, including creating habitat for human slaves, their lifestock and food supply. Meaning growing things underground is needed. I like your idea of replaced sun, but i consider the light breath my least used shit (as you can see from not using it to blind the shit out of you in previous strategies), becouse it requires charging on surface in daytime - not something i would like to do. So is there any other way to grow things underground?

As for black dragons - i just dont see them surviving nuclear holocaust. If they dont evaporate, they will die od radiation poisoning by inhaling it.
As for dragons that can do magic - they always have weakness that i can counter with proper element or undead behemoth it the face.

Why not enlist the Wyrms instead? The Wyrms could be used to obliterate anything that lands and to patrol the area around the underground kingdom.

Magic dragons (Tian-long and Shen-long) could still be a problem, as could this whole 'celestial bureaucracy' nonsense. If there are gods, they might have something to say about our plans.
