You sense that the creatures are making noise, almost as if it is trying to communicate with you via sonic-based methods. You focus your thoughts on one of them, a single probing mental tentacle of thought to the other creatures conscience.

Suddenly, the tiny creatures head bursts like an apple thrown against the ground. The snow and ice is stained scarlet from the sudden rupture, and the other creature begins to wail louder. It really is an irritating noise you think. You reach a tentacle to the corpse of the first creature and absorb it through your tentacle.

You extend a gentle probing thought-tentacle to the tiny creature even as you extend a physical tentacle towards it. The tiny creature falls to the ground in convulsions, flopping about in a pathetic display. Your tentacle engulfs the creature and it is absorbed into your tentacle. But as it is crushed into paste by your digestive track, a single thought creeps into your head.

That was odd. You had never heard of a human. Well, you haven't heard of a lot of things really. But this tiny creature must be a human. ANd they are very tasty.

A dozen of the tiny "Humans" are standing around two orange metal creatures, whose eyes illuminate light. In the distance you can see another orange creature retreating towards the base of another mountain. As you rise up over the hill, the humans turn to you and gawk.

On the other hand, our mind is a weapon like no other we have. If we hone it well, it will serve us thrice over.

So do we have insect legs or tentacles? The writing is a little fuzzy, and seems to flip flop.

You send out thought tentacles as lightly as you can to each of the humans, and the results vary. Most of them simply collapse to the ground, some going into convulsions while others simply sob and cover their eyes with their hands. One simply takes off running into the snow, away from the orange creatures. You receive many thoughts.

Two of the humans though seem to respond better to your probing thoughts. They climb into the skin of one of the orange creatures. With a quiet roar, it begins to head away from you, towards where the other orange creature had gone. You are surprised with how quickly it moves across the snow and ice. Another of the humans runs hopelessly after it, before falling to the ground screaming, screaming, screaming.

Inspect the remaining orange creature. Why is it not affected by our mind?

You extend your thought to the rapidly retreating orange creature as you begin to consume the cowering human, one of your tentacles lashing out at the one that had fled and easily snagging him off his feet.

Your mind simply can not find the metal creatures thoughts. You notice now that while the little beings show up as tiny flares even when you're not using your "Think-sight" the orange creatures do not. They must be some kind of vehicle or machine then, your mind reasons, though your grasp on such concepts is a bit shallow at the moment.

Your tentacles swallow the humans and an image begins to form in your mind. 20 or so metal buildings arranged in a circle, with another half dozen of the orange machines parked nearby. Dozens of the tiny humans walk amongst the buildings and enter in or out of them.

You try to touch the minds of all of the humans as you approach, but find that the effects are diminished. Only a single head pops, and only a dozen or so fall to the ground. But you have gotten the attention of the humans, and all of their thoughts flow back to you in a confusing jumble.

The humans begin to run to and fro, some running towards the orange tractors while others simply flee to the snowy wastes. You are upon them in less then a minute, and a single massive tentacle smashes down onto the row of tractors, including the one with the two that tried to flee.

After a second absorbing the two would-be escapees, you feel something. An itch across your back. You turn your thoughts towards it and see 4 or 5 of the humans not fleeing or panicking. They stand some distance away, with strange metal objects in their hands. A burst of light appears from the tip of one, and that itching sensation returns.

These humans are trying to kill you, though you are not sure how they are intending to do it. As you watch, one of them shudders and places the metal object against his head. There is a bright light and a popping sound, and the human slumps to the ground.

An itch through our crystalline membrane cannot be good. End these human itch-causers quickly, do not let them last. Probe the minds of the others for information on the light-spewing device that causes the itch.
