If someone asked rein why he kept fighting in the duel, he can't say "the players wanted me to", there'd be something about how mad he got when the sword broke, or how determined he was to fight against the sealed king. It wasn't specified that that's what he was thinking at the time, because at the time it wasn't know what he was thinking because players were deciding it.

It's not even really a retcon, because it's not changing what happened, just setting the motivations that a character had which are otherwise entirely fluid until things happen.

No single girl would ever outnumber all others combined in a straight popularity contest. That's a logical impossibility. But Luci, at the time, obtained a plurality, which is the biggest win one can reasonably expect in any contest with 3+ choices (in this case a minimum of 4, hypothetically upwards of 6).

It was always destined to be [frontrunner/winner] vs everyone else, at least assuming people were actually childish enough to adopt an Us vs Them mentality (which, sadly, is obviously the case). Reinhold has the same problem most harem protagonists have. Where every girl throws herself at him but he doesn't pick one for weeks or months on end because otherwise half the conflict of the story is over. Then at a specific point he picks one he may or may not have given that much thought towards or even had the best chemistry with(not judging, this is a general statement not on Arch or anything he's written).

After a certain point the majority of the cast is trying to fuck Reinhold and Reinhold has to spend a ridiculous amount of time waffling.

It strikes me as being a reasonable travel hub that mostly feeds itself on fishing. Not nearly big enough to be a destination, but a stopover on the way to places actually decent.
