Due to generations of selective floating in the atmosphere and the warming up of the climate, the neotenic fehana have started to grow thanks to their numerous aerial phytoplanctonic symbionts. Their tissues have became very light, and their surface also have grown. They passively float with the air currents, but are able to control their altitude by accumulating light gases.

Hey everyone. I took it upon me to try and classify the species that has been "evolved" so far.
I am far from an expert on this, but I enjoy this kind of stuff. If there are any errors in my writings, just tell me.

I took some creative liberties with the names and biology; if anyone wants to have a change of name or anything for "their" creature or genus just tell me.

I have just completed the plants as of thread #3 and will probably continue tomorrow (sunday).

The humped clapper's two tongue ends further diverge and lengthen while adapting membranous muscled appendages linked with a webbed skin layer, these adaptations are aimed for more precise manipulation in aid of picking fruit.

The adaptive radiation caused by the warming up caused the internal line of the fehana parasites to developed a multiple generational reproduction strategy centered around multiple hosts. Critters get infected by coming in contact with larvae sitting on plants. These larvae drill through the skin of the host and inside they undergo asexual reproductive cycles. These cause the host organism to socialize more and gain a form of gigantism. During socializing resulting in close contact some parasites enter new hosts. Here some of them invade the nervous system causing the victims to become more bold and reckless. Sooner or later the host falls victim to a predator and inside the ultimate host does the sexual cycle appear. Eggs continously leave the ultimate host, the begin the cycle anew.

Two new variants of Nocter start to appear.

The first has gained webbing from the fin on its tail to its grasper back legs. It mostly uses this for mating rituals or making itself look larger to scare away rivals/predators. The membrane is very flexible and stretchy.

The second has begun to adapt hyper flexiblity in its grasper joints, allowing them to swivel and bend so they can reach behind as well as above them.

Its fins are situated lower on the body, allowing it to crawl around in the mud and silt. This new offshoot is called the Skraler, on account of how it Skrals around for food.

The Stirdurrd have grown considerably larger , To a size even Surud could build their nests inside them, The Stirdurd have evolved an internal shell protecting them from the clumbsy Suruds who would try building a nest into their organs. These mobile nests became a permanent fixture on the Stirurrds Backs and they will often house generations of Surud in these psuedo colonies
The Stirdurd Lay a single egg which they protect as well as their Surud 'residents' due to that Stirdurrd often being the Surud's new home. Some of these 'mobile colonies' can last several generations

Suruds will mark these Stirdurrd with pheremoel marking indicating that a particular Stirdurrd belongs to a particular colony

Over time Suruds needed a way to carry food back to their nests since eating outside of their nests was oftentimes dangerous. Their heads and beaks slowly elongated and their beak's started to fork and wrap around their beak to trap food in more easily

Doesn't it make more sense to have the Surruds just start constructing their nests atop of the shell of the Stirdurds, instead of having the Stirdurds somehow develop a cavity within their shells where the Surruds can nest?

I mean, the Surruds just weave their nests from plants, their fur, and glue that stuff to the stem of the ferns. It makes way more sense for them to just start gluing their nests on the backs of Stirruds. Though, if the stirruds originally lived within the surrud nests, due to the warmth, as stated here>>30261355, this whole development hardly makes any sense in the first place.

There wouldn't have been any advantage for a stirrud to grow large enough to house a surrud nest on their backs in the first place, if the reason they shared nests was due to the warmth. If the stirrud was big enough to carry a nest, it sure as hell couldn't fit inside one, and get the advantage of the heat the surruds generate.

Also, worth remembering is that surruds are the size of humming birds. They aren't as small as most wasps on earth, which puts the size of the stirrud into question.

The Planet Arigan's Supercontinent 'Primituagri' has started to show some continental drift and split caused by some earthquakes and various other geological events that would show little effect
Though for now no change is evident, What is to come may change the ecosystem of Arigan.
Some areas are slightly hotter than before due to some volcanic activity though this is not on a global scale

Spores dropped onto the backs of certain creatures by the juice thungi occasionally fail to fall off before they begin to grow. Usually the host finds having a growth on it's back annoying, if not downright painful as the tendrils begin growing into their flesh, and we scrape of eat them off. However, the thick, spiny hides of tri-paddlers combined with the secretion of a mild numbing mucus gives rise to the growth of Rider Thungi. Old habits of merely consuming the juice, rather than the whole thungus, leaves the Rider unmolested by the host's pack-mates.

As the nocters treetop hunting tactics improve, so does its variety of prey. It's rear limbs have shortened and receded, but it'd wing nubs have developed to allow it to glide as it lunges from the trees. Able to pick Surruds out of the air with its deadly beak.

A new breed of Fanburizo shows signs of new feeding methods. Its large mandibles were adept at grasping and restraining prey but were quite clumsy when it came to the actual consumption of their meal. The Tonguehemoths further enhance their tongues. This breed have taken to grabbing their preys with their muscular, forked tongue tips. Smaller critters can be brought immediatly to the mouth full of long, pointy teeth. Bigger ones are impeded in their escape and face the same destiny.
Unfortunately for the Tonguehemoths, this new method often result in tongue wounds. Fortunately for them, they developped vesicles full of cicatrizing fluid on it.

Some Surruds take advantage of their new grasping beak, and develop even more aggressive hunting tactics. They use their beak and clawed legs to get a firm grip on their prey, while their pincer arms cut and dismember the victim until it is either dead, or incapable pf resisting further. Usually, this brutal attack tactic reduces the victim into various smaller parts, which some surrud groups eventually began to also collect, instead of just bringing the biggest part back to nest. This eventually resulted into a behavior, where the surruds would use their glue like excretion to stick the dismembered bodyparts, and various other food bits like berries and so on, together into a bundle, that they would then carry back to their nest.

Over time, these new behaviors caused physical changes in these surruds, their beak becomes stronger, and better suited for getting a firm, crushing grip on the prey's body, their pincers become stronger, allowing them cut apart their victims more easily. Their middle limb pair develops longer, more dexterous claws, along with 4 spike like spurs, that allow the surruds manipulate their food better, and hold their prey in place. Their back legs develop strong, hook like claws, that both help them grab a firm hold on their prey, as well as any food bundles the surrud might carry.
Their glue glands have also adapted further. They can alter the thickness, and elasticity of the glue they produce, which is important as the thicker glue type is used to bundle the food bits together, by "weaving" strands of the substance over the bundle until it holds firm. The more runny glue is used in nest construction, as well as a sort of attack, as the stronger glue tendrils spray the victim with the substance, and thus entangling it with the sticky glue.

These hunter surruds still live in 10-30 sized communities, as their ancestors did.

The Emperor Lurz, ignored for some time by the whims of evolution, have been noticed this time around. The tectonic shift, as minor as it was, has changed the climate of the Lurz' hunting ground.

With the air getting more and more frigid, the once-slithery Lurz have managed to adapt. They've developed small padding on the back of their neck, insulation against the cold. Also noted is the addition of lightly colored bristles on the padding; while acting as a small help from the cold as well, some of the darker bristles have small "antennas" that reverberate when anything on the ground steps in the approximate area of the Lurz.

The migratory Tropical Paddler returns on their Thungus barges with the warm season. Having spent so long in distant tropical climes away from the enforced winter, Tropical Paddlers have evolved in several ways:

Only the larger, more well-stocked family groups survive the long journey along the coast of the Arigan super-continent. The remaining Paddlers form family packs, with a dominant female Paddler in charge. The dominant female is responsible for the barge's central nest and food cache, while the younger paddlers range for food.
Time spent at the mercy of Arigan's restless tides has led to the evolution of frills on their back and tails, which they use as a sort of rudimentary sail to catch the wind and guide their barges,stopping themselves from being washed out into the open ocean away from the coasts they rely on for food.
These frills are more prominent on the males of the species, as the frill along with the clapping, now forms a part of their mating rituals.
The oily coat of hair, developed for the survival of wintry conditions has disappeared, warmth no longer being a required evolutionary trait. Some throwbacks still sport hairy patches on their legs, but this trait has been slowly dying out in the Tropical Paddlers.

Tropical Paddlers remain largely herbivores, and are still fiercely territorial of their Barge Thungus.

They have spread Brayfruit plants along the coast of Arigan, and any other plant they could stockpile in their barges, in the form of their seed-filled droppings. They are overall smaller than the more sedentary forms of Paddler, but have more lean muscle, leading them to be generally faster.

Their Barge Thungus varies little from the smaller specimens found in the swamp, though it is substantially larger and hardier.

Unable to reliably take their Boat Fungus with them, Tropical Paddlers use smaller, younger Barge Thungus to range away from their nests, thus no new form of Boat Thungus has evolved.

Limited resources combined with the stabilizing effect the roots of the pygmy fern's roots have on their burrows leads the Sand Lurz to alter its loner lifestyle. The mandibles of young Sand Lurz develop slowly, so for the first part of their youth the hunting parent feeds them via regurgitation. Some Lurz have developed grooming habits inside their lairs (spreading the pygmy's seeds in locations that reinforce the burrow as they grow), effectively teaching their young how to handle their developing mandibles.

I wrote a bit about them at one point. The Dancing Thungus were quite small, Paddlers started using the larger ones as rudimentary boats. This led to a larger breed of Dancing Thungus, named Boat Thungus.

At some point, Barge Thungus developed, and Paddlers started using them as mobile nests, storing their food and eggs in the centre. Anything left in there too long was eventually broken down by the Thungus as nourishment, thus forming a kind of symbiosis. Barge Thungus started getting larger as a result, and eventually changed colour to better camouflage the Paddlers that live on them.

These days Boat Thungus are rarer, since they were less able to stand the cold, but who knows, they could make a comeback.

I think that's the gist of it.

Becoming ever more concious of the predators found everywhere, the Puffed Scrall develops further defences. They gain a crude visor to cover the egg clusters atop their heads, although it has another use. If the Puffed Scrall tucks in its antennae and its forelimbs, then the armoured visor falls over his face, protecting its eyes and antennae from predators while leaving its spitter uncovered.

Additionally, Puffed Scralls develop a bizarre, altruistic community. Once their spitter's secretions have cooled and the irritants become inert, they become edible and surprisingly nutritious. As a result, it isn't uncommon for the more successful Puffed Scralls to share their ichor with their offspring and less fortunate members of the community. Actual food is preferable to the consumption of this slime but it's a method of distributing nutrition throughout the community.

As the climate warms up, the parasitic Lurz begins to become more active. With the larger variation in species, Lurz begin to abandon their behemoth hosts and begin seeking other prey to latch onto and drink the blood from.

To better acomplish this, the legs of the Lurz segment at certain points and grow in strength to allow for better locomotion.

A curious mutation of over-grown ichor vents occurs, leading to long, spine-like vent each with smaller slime-pores. The mutants gradually come to develop unique behaviour. It isn't uncommon for these Shem to impale the half-eaten carcasses of their prey on their backs for two reasons.
One, so that they may keep their prey with them as a meal in case they go hungry, rather than leaving them to scavengers. Two, so that they may lure scavengers in with the scent of dead meat and turn them into their next meal.
Unfortunately, the short limbs of the Shem make this act of impalement almost impossible. As a result of this, Shem tend to roam in mating pairs, mounting their deceased prey on their partner's back and occasionally grooming each other, cleaning their slime vents of any blockages.

A breed of Pale Lurz emerges that is resilient against the Fehana and their parasitic nature. Amphibious life brings more changes! Mudlurz have eyes adapted to allow them to see clearly in air, despite the density differences between air and water. Time also bring out different coloration more suited for moving on land as they still are quite vulnerable while being there.

The sound of the mudlurz exhaling air at the surface prior to inhaling a fresh breath is similar to sound made by bellows.

The Northern Fehana symbionts adaptations tighten regarding the Northern Stirdurd. Some alternative, immobile morphs appear. These become rooted in specific places over the outer cuticle layer of the skin of Stirdurds. Since these morphs don't move around, they grow bigger than their mobile brethren. The mobile Fehana develop comb like claws, to gain benefits of the fine hairs on the backs of Stirdurds.

The Hunter Lurz begin scuttling around on their hind two legs, freeing up their front two to become full-time arms. The Lurz begin using these arms to grab stronger onto prey, and fight against predators.

With these new graspers, the Lurz who work together begin using their graspers to groom each other. Now that the Lurz have begun living together, the females make use of their tails (Which are larger than the male's, due to the fact that they double as ovapositors) to fight one another for dominance and mating rights over the best and strongest males.

Some Tonguehemoth begin living on land for extended periods, developing scales to counter dehydration. To better regulate the temperatur of their thus enclosed bodies, their thin orange colored skin parts grow more and have many bloodvessels going through them.

Their air-sack evolves into an organ to make loud booming croaks, which is used in mating rituals and to scare away enemies.

Since we need some sort of water-based herbivores, here's a fairly recent breed of water-based skrelp that has developed a more efficient filter-mouth and also some handy gills.

Please don't turn this into a carnivore like we've done with every other herbivore.

1. Some Tuatara Aqlurz develop a spine on the interior sides of their pectoral fins, helping them cling to plants while eating their leaves.

2. The faces of others become extended from a shift in diet over the generations, probing into the roots of hydroferns for food.

Their larva remains largely unchanged, which causes some competition between the two species for the algae they eat.

Meanwhile, another population of creeping thungus embraced the more mobile lifestyle of their ancestors.
