Putting all of his strength into his knife, he parries your blow and sends you stumbling back... but instead of falling over, you shift your weight and spin back into him, landing a strong kick to the man's gut. As he staggers back in pain, you twirl your sword around and run it right through his heart, sending his bloody corpse falling to the ground.

These guys definitely have the strength, but their actual skill doesn't seem to be all that high. Fortunately.

The thing is.. Reinhold doesn't have to be useless. We're just literally not allowed to move upwards. Other threads allow character progression, even if it's in slow and steady pacing over time. Here, however, we're already about 60% finished with the quest, according to Arch, and we have next to nothing to show for it save for a couple of cantrips and maybe a new sword.
