Honestly, what Gobble should do is set up a rotation system himself and stop letting 10-20 complete strangers try to agree on how to micromanage.

Like, we can pick a specific pokemon for a specific fight but otherwise our party shifts around on a regular basis on a system Gobble has set up for us(like switching on each new center visit or when we leave a town).

You reach into your bag and grab a bottle. Nothing clears things up like the haze of drunkenness. At least it might dull the ache a bit. You take a sudden but long drink, then put it back in your bag. There's a faint voice of reason in the back of your mind telling you that you might just be overreacting, but the booze floods it out.

You grab your flute in one hand and Pokeballs in another. You toss out Devon and Trunks for now. You can keep an eye on the both of them as you walk. Devon immediately starts barking in and jumping in circles when he sees the flute, and Trunks just nestles against your shoulder. You toss out Vlad too. He can be a dick sometimes, but without Destiny here he'll probably be alright. Besides, he's always nice to you.

The flute feels heavy in your hands. Everything feels heavy. At least you won't drive it away with your lips. You begin to play. It's a slow sad tune, occasionally thrown off-key as you make your way up and down the rough trail. It helps you concentrate though, and it keeps Devon at your side and Vlad from flying too far.

Your song pierces the forest. Your tears stop and you're starting to gather your thoughts. Devon happily walks alongside as Trunks tries to cheer you up. Vlad circles overhead.

You just don't know where it went wrong.

Your sleeve collects a few tears as your wipe your eyes. You blow an embarrassing amount of snot out too. At least the crying has slowed down a little.

You spend a little time petting each of your Pokemon while finishing the bottle. That leaves one left. Good thing they're so big.

The cave looks a little forbidding, but you just can't seem to muster a damn to give. You secure your escape rope to a nearby tree, get Devon to light a small torch, and step inside. You have to brush away a few vines and crouch for some of it, but a few feet in you see the cave opens up wide.

It's pretty dark. You can't see very far and the floor is uneven. The booze probably isn't helping, but it gives you the courage to press on. You're glad there are no people here, because you'd probably slur your speech.

There's some distance noises coming from the tunnel on the left. It's hard to make out exactly what it is.

The tunnel in front of you goes up. That's odd.

You make your way towards the humming noise. The cave is twisting and turning. Your escape rope unravels a little with each step forward. You can smell the repel on the brightly colored cord. You almost drunkenly sing the Escape Rope Jingle before you remember where you are.

The humming becomes clearer now. It's a person! You kill the torch and put your Pokemon away before getting closer. You can't make out what they look like at this distance, but they have a flashlight.

They're getting closer. You press against the cave wall. You'll have to back away before they get too close, or they might spot you. You step backwards to try to position yourself better, but you slip and fall behind a rock. Crap!

You can't tell if they heard you, but the flashlight is shining around your area.

You stay hidden. Maybe if you're very still and very quiet they won't notice you.

They come closer and you realize they're not alone. There isn't a second set of footsteps, but there is another presence. It's got to be a floating Pokemon. The way the light bounces around the cave it must be reflective. Maybe it's another Magnemite?

You see the Pokemon float right next to you. It's Magnezone. The person comes into clear view only a few feet away now. It's that scientist that ripped you off back in Kindleville, Dr. Hornbeam!

Your heart skips a beat. This guy is dangerous. The last time you saw him he was running away into the woods, firing thunderbolts at you and Robin. You were lucky nobody got hurt.

His head slowly turns in your direction. It feels like everything is in slow motion.
