Civ thread, here we go. First to race/terrain to three votes wins. I'll be QMing for maybe 5-6 hours before I retire and someone else can take the reins or the thread turns into spiderman. Trying a more organized approach this time. All rolls are 1d100 unless specified, rolls are only counted if they're asked for. I request that players use names for clarity when counting votes, etc. >Please greentext votes. Rolls will have a semi-arbitrary target that players must roll over to succeed, only one player needs to roll over a target for the civ to succeed. The more players that roll = the more 'effort' your civ is putting in. Majority rules, except as below. A rolled 1 makes the turn's result a critfail regardless of other rolls except... A rolled 100 makes the turn's result a crit success and supersedes a critfail.

>>30492402>D. Research making Armadillo Lizards (Magic is an option) i don't understand. elaborate! also... there seems to be a recurring theme here of leaf-walker rolling badly and mathrian saving the day, lol
Rolled 78, 84 = 162>>30492248Have Svetna take on 2 apprentices to become battle magesconstruct more compound bows with our readily available wood and add 10 warriors to our hunting parties.>to the two-legs "Showing us the exploration you have done on our plains and what you have found would be a wise and appreciated gesture two-legs!" >>30492462by Thor, I will not rest until our civ has centaur knights in shining armor>>30492491you have the spell to do it, though i guess that wasnt made clear. Feral Spirit will temporarily awaken an armadillo lizard's past lives and through the power of !SPIRITS! transform it into a goddamned ankylosaurus, I guess you could call 'em ARMORDILLO LIZ- no? no? anybody?
>>30492372>>30492462>>30492515>>30492481writing!
Rolled 97>>30492533hahah ah, well damn i didn't quite realize that. Can we cast feral spirit on some of the lizards and have them knock up some female centaurs? The biggest lizard gets to knock up our shaman btw. I bet he'll turn out to be a right powerful shaman.
>>30492626To be clear. >>30492640 was indeed a vote for doing that (if its not to late lol). and holy shit my rolls
>>30492626Khan Mathrian asks the explorers if they would share their maps as a gesture of goodwill, and the humans, as they call themselves, happily agree to do so before parting your company. The going back to the tribal lands is slow, and some of the hunters make derisive comments under their breath about the humans' inability to gallop, but none will bear the humans on their backs. They will return to the tribe in one turn, to feast and discuss trade and the Aymara culture. Meanwhile, Svetna the shaman feels the strain of middle-age beginning to hit her, and realises it's time to begin passing her skills on to the younger generations before her ways die out. She takes up three shaman apprentices and begins teaching them the fundamentals of shamanism, explaining that the spirit world actually coexists with the material plane, and that the unseen interaction between the two is the basis of all magic... >3 shaman apprentices being trained, will be capable of magic in three turns. >2 human explorers arriving in one turn. Perhaps some preparations are in order? We are the Aymara. 58 Centaurs (29M29F) 1 Shaman, 1 Khan, 16 Hunters, 15 Herdsmen, 25 UntaskedFood: Self sustaining. Rolled 32>>30492776E: prepare a feast for the scouting party and the human guests. and prepare the provisions i mentioned in >>30492372
>>30492776Cast Feral Spirit on the largest/most intelligent Armadillo Lizard and have it mate with as many Centaurs as possible. I imagine they would make good warriors and shamans due to their magical connection. As per >>30492640Finish the whole thing before people get back, I imagine that might not go over great lol>PreparationThis >>30492838
Rolled 20>>30492857dice. again.>>30492462Btw Thor, I absolutely love all those centaur pics you've been posting.
Rolled 59, 72 = 131>>30492776Set up our tents in an ornate fashion, decorate, and prepare a grand feast with the finest centaur cuisines! If we can get spices from the woods in time, do it! We are the masters of these plains and are grandeur must be felt by any visitors we would have. On a related note to trade, we should begin looking into road construction
>>30492857>>30492640The way i interpreted it, the totem allows you to create hybrids of creatures you own totems of, not with humanoids. Probably get crushed trying to mate with an ankylosaurus anyway, but you could try it with your horses if youre inclined.
>>30492924you couldn't have found a more perfect picture >>30492838>>30492924writing!
>>30492930The text reads>Extra totem allows you to create that kind of hybrid; incredible likely to be sterile. So if you have a Rhino totem, you can make rhino centaurs, centaurs with the bodyish of a Rhino instead of a horse. Therefore a Armadillo Lizard totem would allow us to create something akin to >>30488970Thats the entire point of the extra totem, to grant to possibility of a second form. At least thats how i've always seen it played.
>>30493021A single hunter has ridden hard for home ahead of the group, and informs the Chief of their guests to be. A sense of foreboding overcomes her as she listens to the hunter describe the creatures from her dream, but she masks her emotions and gives the order to have the tribe make preparations. The next few days are spent decorating the tents, carving numerous smaller totem poles, and cooking up a grand feast of wildebeest steaks and lizard legs, spiced with mixes concocted from the forest by the shaman herself. When the explorers arrive, they bombard the shaman with questions, learning much of the Aymara and the centaur race in general. They spend much of their time immersed in books, using some kind of charcoal sticks to meticulously draw the centaur and their grand totem pole. We are the Aymara. We are entertaining guests from a foreign land. 62 Centaurs (31M31F) 1 Shaman, 3 Shaman Apprentices, 1 Khan, 16 Hunters, 15 Herdsmen, 26 UntaskedFood: Self sustaining. Rolled 92, 89 = 181>>30493298tooo late hes writing up the end results and bowing out.Can people check twitters without having an account?
>>30493350I do believe so.Btw, do you know if I am correct here>>30493060If not, I would definitely like to know.
>>30493060hm, i'll allow this! but you'll have to convince a majority to vote for it when next we play civ :p >>30493193You learn that the humans of Alberon are from far across the plains, having crossed a mountain range and a desert to make their way here. They learn that you are settlers from a proud centaur Horde, a conglomerate of clans ten thousand centaurs strong, constantly roaming and making war on any foolish enough to stand in their way. You learn that their kingdom is a scholarly and mercantile one, focused on bettering its people through technology and diplomacy. They learn of your shamanistic practices and your coexistence with the beasts of the great plains. They are both amused and impressed by the craftsmanship of your totems, and for ivory and elephant leather, they're willing to trade salt, bread, and iron tools, explaining the basics of farming crops. https://twitter.com/Borgluk is the twitter, it'll be updated a few hours before I start a thread! Looking at maybe thursday or friday.
Rolled 62, 51 = 113>>30493384You are correct, however I personally have never been a fan of the whole /half-human half-not horse centaur idea because at that point they aren't really centaurs anymore. I Really I think its one of those things (like everything else in a civ thread) where it's the GMs discretion I always preferred the spiritual totem, where centaurs gained bonuses from their spirit animals over literal hybrids running around. Just makes more sense lore-wise and it makes it so we dont have to do things like having giant feral lizards fuck horse people (this isn't /d/!)
>>30493517http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/30486949/here is the archive page, and that's all OP wrote! good night, /tg/!
>>30493535Okay thanks. Lol, as far as having giant feral lizards fuck horse people, you do know where centaurs came from right...? But I do understand what you are saying even if I am a bit of a fan of the whole /half-human half-not horse centaur thing. Heck, when totem, eagle came up, I was imagining we'd essentially be ending up with some type of pegasi centaur
>>30493588Night OP. It was fun. Hope to catch you next time.
