They are still recording when you arrive at the studio. You wave at them, but they are professionals and stay focused on their work (yes, Mako IS a pro singer. She blushes but restrain herself from smiling, waving, or anything else that could pause her singing).

It takes you about a solid second to realize they are recording a modern version of Hotel California, with Mako adding the lyrics, in chinese, while Euphry does the guitar, re-arranging it here and there to modernize it with 97 years worth of guitar technology and technique improvements.

Lyann: "I got her into a C string!" -she says from inside the booth before opening the curtain.

She is wearing an absolute cleavage little red dress that seems to hold unto her by an absolute act of God, without any visible straps to hold itself into place.

Mako: "You shouldnt show your pajamas out here!"

Lyann: "It's a dress, Mako. A party dress. You've never seen the Oscar Awards?"

Mako: -shakes her head- "No."

Lyann: "Ned, what do you think?" -she spins a little to let you take a good look. The dress cleavage is identical in the back as it is in the front. It takes you a moment to realize it's clinging from her collar.

Lyann: "Think it would look better if I pulled my hair into a bun?"

Ned: "I think it would look criminal."

You tell Lyann about helping spread Qui Meng to the needy novas out there, and about meeting Amihk during the week. She loves the idea, and seems positively bubbling with excitement about it.

Mako: "You really do not think Lyann is playing joke on me?"

Lyann: "Playing A joke on me. And I swear I am not, Mako."

Mako: "..alright"

The Tai Chi goes well, and Lyann decides to start easing you into Qui Meng as well. Mako joins in, this time as a student. The evening is warm but pleasant, but you have to leave before movie time, as you have to meet your PI staff.

Ned: "Mako, do you want me to drive you home?"

Mako: "Is a bit early, but if you have duty, I support you."

Lyann: "That sounds... correct, and yet I feel you wanted to use other words, somehow. Have a good night, Ned"

Ned: "Thank you. And come on Mako, I am sure Mao Mao will be happy to see you are back."

Mako is happy to have spend the day with you, and as you park the car, she looks at you and blushes for a moment, then leans in and... holds your hand between them.

Mako: "Thank you for today, mister Salter." -she lets go of your hand, blushing, and hurries to her building.

Pretty sure they outlawed it in Utah and right now it's slightly more likely that the country'll abolish the institution of marriage rather than legalize it. So no. However, they're nothing stopping co-habitation or raising non-traditional families, though the courts do tend to go out of there way to look for alicgations of abuse or other violations of law to crack down on.

Tl;dr It would be doable but challenging to set up an equivalent legal framework to a polygamist manage and the marriage itself wouldn't be legally recognized, but it's more or less doable. Just expect it to turn heads and conservative politicians and Lawyers to constantly reference us as what's wrong with the state of the country.

I think we'll be joining them for legs of it, but we need to be there to coach Ami in preparaction for the bringing of the Gold season...so part of the time we're with them (definitely for the shows in the gangs' home cities) and part of the time we're in L.A. But we'll be in contact via holo the whole time. Don't forget we'll be filming a tour documentary and running the MTV cameras for at least one live streamed show.

Doesn't Lyann own an island? If it's far enough from land we can probably get her micro nation status with the UN and have her make whatever marriage we want legally recognized there. Then it's just getting that recognized by foreign governments and they aren't going to have about a nation with three people enough to block our clout. Plus they'd want to stay on Lyann's good side.

If you want to truly own an island and rule it however you want, you'll need to build one. Either get someone who can make a volcanoe erupt or build a platform somewhere.

Unless my history teachers have been lipping to me my entire life, but treaty no country can make claim to territory on the moon or mars. Technically that doesn't (as far as I know) disallow personal ownership of property on those two, but good luck getting any legal authority to back your claim.
