You are John Galt, the sentient protagonist of a harem show. Aside from having to gather and keep your harem, you will have to deal with various other obstacles at the Cassandra College of Witches. Currently you are standing outside of the Mysticism building, having just finished your last class of the day. What should have been a simple crystal ball reading nearly turned into you being attacked by a shadowy being that may or may not have been from this world, your internal jury is out on that. Looking around, you realize that you have absolutely no idea what to do next. It’s approximately 6 PM, you don’t have any homework and the only thing you have even remotely scheduled is to eventually buy your neighbor Christiane a meal. Well you did promise Kaname that you’d let her pick your brain on enchanting, but she said she would call you through the enchanted communication doohickey you made. You might want to come up with a better name for it now that you think about it. Tatsuko is also still nearby, but you’ve been spending a great deal of time with her. But she’d probably follow you around if you wanted her too. You could also drop some Protag Points, maybe make something happen. But at this point you’d probably want to push the plot in a certain direction or make something specific happen. >Try and find Christiane, get her that dinner.>See if you can get Kaname to answer the magic communicator.>Drag Tatsuko somewhere.>Drop some Protag Points. (Specify what, point total will be decided based on choice.)
>>31088361Find christiane. We owe her after all.Captcha related: lueude really. But only phonetically.
>>31088361>Try and find Christiane, get her that dinner.Best to get that done before it gets forgotten. Also, name for the communicator: how about the Ancient Egyptian Can-On-A-String?
>>31088361>Try and find Christiane, get her that dinner.
>>31088361>Try and find Christiane, get her that dinner. We do need to make it up to herLater though we may want to get that NPC buddy though. Could be our comedic relief guy or something too, I guess. I also believe we need our first antagonist/rival for the show. Nothing big, like some other male. Like a pretty boy rich asshole guy or something
Rolled 37>>31088546What do you wanna bet one of those is gonna be our roommate?
>>31088546>NPC buddyThat's why we have Jenkins
We need to do something to make our familiar tolerable at some point
>>31088594Which is why we should work on our summoning.
>>31088578Are there any genre conventions regarding annoying roommates? It'd hamper harem relations, but it might amusingly hamper harem relations, leading to protag points.
>>31088361We gotta give the show an antagonist. It's much more interesting, and will give us a chance to be all charming and shit if we protect people. HOWEVER, we don't want to rush into this, it is the first day after all. What I propose is a sub-antagonist:Previously, it was only girls that could use magic, right? So, how about we introduce a rival of sorts. Have her hate men, raised that way, bump into us. We try to apologize, she don't have none of that, throws a bitchfit, new character established!Plus, she could possibly be a lesbian, so fun there too.Probably burn some points for this, how about it?
Looks like you're going to try and find Chris. Writing. >>31088615Awkward rooming with a female.
>>31088615I agree, plus, he can burst in when we start to get lewd, cause this isn't a hentai.
>>31088659>she could be lesbianI like this, mainly because I already hate degenerates
>>31088669>SpoilerPerfect
>>31088659>>31088692Could be an idea.
>>31088692degenerates? Explain plz thx.
>>31088659This is what I've been hoping for since the start.
>>31088732EllenEllen degenerates.
>>31088753I love you anon
>>31088659Dude who posted this image. Also, can I just say that I think this thing is just the cutest? It's guddamn adorable!
>>31088768
>>31088772We should of had that as our familiar
>>31088659Standard useless runaway father and strict/famous mother material?Definitely a useful antagonist: not too dangerous, and anytime we need a cheap plot point, we can delve into completely-original-and-emotional backstory for an arc or an interlude.
>>31088818"Original"
>>31088828You say that like you have doubts. Are you doubting the originality of such a plot?Specifically, the absence thereof?
>>31088828Pretty sure the hyphons already implied those quotation marks.
>>31088659Can we kill her, or better yet convert her to hetero
>>31088659Continuing:Later on in the story we can have an actual big bad. You know, the kind working behind the scenes so we can still have our "peaceful days" comedy scenes, but at certain points actually get up a wreck shit. Then, we can fight them (after the introductory scene which absolutely nothing permanent happens to either party involved). For those who need a reference, think of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demon_King_DaimaoPic related.
>>31088901curing lesbians with the power of a good dicking? I can dig it.this is totally my fetish.
>>31088963mine too
>>31088361Drop some Protag Points into finding Junko in a compromising situation. We need to at least know about Tatsuko. She does seem to know what is going on.
>>31088901No, keep her lesbos and have her mackin' on the girls in our harem. Dudes love the yuri. Well, some dudes anyway.
>>31088957On that subject we need a little brother Character.
>>31089020But dude, thats semi ntr, thats gonna give our fans some very conflicting feels
>>31089051Dude. One word.Threesome.
>>31089020>implying she wouldn't be bi after our dickthe best of both worlds. she'll be like those people in the arabian harems who keep the girls constantly aroused for the sultan.dammit I am getting way too aroused for this early in the thread.
>>31089069... That's what we have the harem for.
>>31088361Well, you really made a bad first start with Christiane and you’d probably better make that up as soon as possible. Waving goodbye to Tatsuko, who looks mildly disappointed but still waves back, you start back to your apartment. It’s the only place that you have to start looking after all and she might be there anyway. Opening your door, you drop the bag onto the small table in your living area. Quickly changing into clean clothes, you pause and wonder how to do this. >Just walk in through the bathroom.>Knock on her door. >Nah, never mind.>Other.On a side note I love the discussion.
>>31089050>Little Brother>Not a conveniently Non-blood related little sister who is better at all this than us
>>31089110Do we go at this the rational way, or the harem protag way?I'd say just walk in, if only for those protag points.
>>31089110>Knock on her door.
>>31089110>Knocketh thine passage
>>31089110>>Knock on her door.>tectsiex andCaptcha, it is FAR too early for those lewds....And what else, Captcha?
>>31089140Naw, dude, there has to be a non-threatening male part. We can't traverse the sea of estrogen if we don't have a oar of testosterone to paddle with.
>>31089110Knock on her door
>>31089110We go full Harem protag way and attempt to use the bathroom to shower, but accidentally stumble in on her.
>>31089107No, I mean with the lesbian, us, and the girl(s).IT'S THE PERFECT PLAN
>>31089235No its really not, the lesbo is just gonna take up the girls attention, less fuck time for us
>>31089110Theres no chance of the building having a lower floor roof overhang just under our window which we can access her bedroom window from? If so, knock on her window while peaking in. If not, go knock on her door.
>>31089110>Other.Use ENCHANTMENT to open a hole between the rooms. But, you know, accidentally, while experimenting. That way we catch her changing or in some other compromising position, thus fulfilling our Protag Requirements, and gaining points with the viewers because "well at least he's using his magic".
>>31089110>Knock on her door. Had a feeling we're still going to see her naked anyway.I'd rather we stick with the "peaceful" college sthick. With the number of majikoi running around i don't think we're going to have a shortage of crazy shit to dohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHmeuZPj16s
>>31089110>Knock on her door.Yeah, the other way would be funny, but we've probably already characterized the MC as not-incredibly-stupid.What may be a good idea is, whenever either Christiane or we are in the bathroom, to slip a little piece of paper under the other person's door so he/she knows not to come in.And so she can eventually deliberately not slip that paper under the door when she's in the shower.
>>31089282FUCKING MAGICAL SK-Hey wait, OP, are the skirts in this college all magical, or do the laws of Harem Comedy enforce the panty shot?
>>31089310>that spoilerSee me in my office in ten minutes, Anon. You're going places in this world.
>>31089110knock on her bathroom door
Looks like you're not being incredibly stupid. >>31089337Well, most of the time you've been hanging with Tatsuko, who wears pants. Or not in a position to see.
>>31089310No, see, that's too logical for a harem anime. Unless we play our awareness up as a perk for the show--We have to write highly detailed plans in our journal for how we're trying to game the universe that plays after the ED. It'll be the next-episode preview. >Now, seeing as I've already met three potential members, plus a couple side members, this is about when I should run into the tomodachi and the rival....
>>31089384>Tatsuko wears pantsWe can fix that.
>>31089384I'm waiting for the future where she sleepwalks into our room one night and we wake up with her cuddling us in nothing but her panties bra optional
>>31089274Stop being pessimistic, anon. We won't be spending the entire time fucking. This is, after all, a harem anime, not a harem hentai. It is more focused on relationship comedy, with sexytime getting to 3rd base at most on screen. (fade to black for anything beyond). Having a lesbian at what was previously AN ENTIRELY GIRL COLLEGE isn't to much of a stretch for the show, and playing off that dynamic is interesting. Plus, you never know, she could have never met a dude before, just doesn't know 'em well.I like how we all agree she is going to exist; apparently my idea was popular.
>>31089310Even smart harem protags get some enforced stupidity (or rather, bad luck) to ensure that the fanservice will flow. A "badly" time gust of wind that delivers the panty shot, rounding a corner and tripping over them only to accidentally cop a feel or faceplant into their boobies/crotch, and since there's magic, a crit fail on a spell while practicing will randomly disrobe several ladies and get his shit slapped because they think he did it on purpose.Common sense and logic are almost antithetical to harem shows, the setting actively attempts to force these things on you whether you want them or not.
>>31089476>the guy who came up with her wants her to cut in on our actionI no longer support lezzy antag
>>31089384Can we take a bath while thinking (and monologing) about all the strange things that happened to us? and them when we leave the bath we accidentaly use the wrong door and enter cris' room?
>>31089476Exactly, and right when you think you're going to get laid or kiss one of the girls something happens that kills the mood in a comedic way. Such is the fate of the harem protag.
>>31089511Well, if you feel that strongly about it, then I won't push it. I just wanted to put my two bits in; if you just want the core idea and go somewhere else with it, I'd support that too.
>>31089543agreealso see >>31089221
>>31089476Now the question is: do we hope she's already in existence, or do we burn protag points to make it so?>>31089502Well there's always us forgetting to look. Or her forgetting to look. Or her friend not knowing about the paper, or a million other things. It'd offer more opportunities, I think, than learning to knock.
Where's OP
>>31089110Well, you did pick college so that you could avoid most of the really terrible clichés and you’ve already seen Christiane mostly naked today. So you do the smart thing and go around to the outside door. Knocking politely, you wait for a minute before you hear the door unlock and your neighbor leans out, but only her head, which is faintly damp. “Oh, hello,” she says, apparently not expecting you, “Did you need something?” “I wanted to see if you were up for that meal I promised you earlier,” you say. “Oh, you were serious? I thought you were just trying to play nice.” She seems…nervous almost. “No, I was being serious,” you reply, “That was truly an accident and while I won’t lie to you and say I didn’t…appreciate, seeing you like that, it won’t happen again. At least I promise to do my best to keep it that way, life is weird like that.” You see her blush as you indirectly complement her, then her face turns a little suspicious as you finish, but she seems to accept your statement for face value. “Alright, I haven’t had dinner yet so I’ll take you up on your offer. Let me get changed.”>Christiane attraction +1 With that her head withdraws and the door clicks shut. You wonder why she didn’t invite you in, but your imagination fills in that detail for you. If you’d just walked in through the bathroom door the universe was plainly ready to get you slapped by seeing her naked again. It’s nearly five minutes this time, but eventually you hear the door open and out steps your neighbor in a nice white sundress. She locks the door behind her, then turns to you. “I’m ready,” she says a little redundantly, “So where are we going to dinner?” Well, you didn’t get that far did you.
>>31089867>Turn right around a march her to your room. You have food…probably.>Head to where you and Tatsuko ate earlier, you remember where it is. >There’s a strip with some food chains just off campus, take her there and see what she likes. >Other.

>>31089893Strip mall, great place for more interaction
>>31089948Seconding. Besides, each girl needs a personalized approach. They aren't all the same so the protag shouldn't treat them that way.I'm just jumping into this though so have we gotten the obligatory Tsundere and loli yet?
>>31089992We're with Tsundere now. No loli that I can recollect, though I think Tsundere is flattest so far.
>>31089992no loli yet because this is a college setting.
>>31089893Strip mall. we're not enough of a Dosh King yet to take all our girls to steak dinners.
>>31089893>There’s a strip with some food chains just off campus, take her there and see what she likes. >>31089992I think Chris is suppose to be the Tsundere? I can't recall
>>31089893>There’s a strip with some food chains just off campus, take her there and see what she likes. Gotta prevent it from becoming a campus mysteriously placed several miles into the countryside with nothing around it.>>31089992Not enough interaction to be sure, but I think this is the tsundere. No loli yet: plus, is college.
>>31089992I think we might be avoiding the Loli. But idk. Anyway let's figure out what she likes.
>>31089729He has descended into the dungeons of Mt. Probably comes with being a few hours old and only some vague memories of dying or spouting off one sentence at a time before disappearing from the show forever. “Well, my magic focus is summoning,” replies Chris, who seems to be at least a little surprised that you’re taking an interest in her, “But I’m also taking a minor in military studies.” “Military studies?” you ask her, cocking an eyebrow, “That seems…odd. But then again I’m not sure what I would have thought you were studying.” She nods at that, “Yeah, it’s mostly a family tradition, there’s a long line of military witches in my family so it’s expected that any girl with magic should learn about them.” She pauses there. “But it’s not really my thing; I’m doing it to keep my mother off of my back.” She seems to be almost surprised there, but turns to you and asks, “What are you studying?” “Enchantment,” you reply, “Enchantment and maybe some physical training on the side. If it’s an enchantment,” you snap your fingers, “I’m good. Most other things I’m a danger to myself and others if I try. Why just this afternoon I blew up a crystal ball.” Christiane’s eyes go wide at that and then she starts laughing, stopping in her tracks as she does so. “You…you managed to blow up a crystal ball?” she asks. How do you respond?>Casual: Yeah.>Blow it off: Yep and I’d do it again to!>Insulted: Hey, not funny.>Other

I just hope next time goes a little better.” With that conversation over the two of you finally make it down to Eats street. A quick glance reveals a rather wide assortment of choices. First off there are the standards, the sports bar, the cheap sandwich place, the expensive sandwich place, the chain pizza place and the other pizza place. There also appear to be a slightly more upscale family restaurant, a local barbeque, a Japanese restaurant, a Korean restaurant, a chili place and a bakery that seems a little pretentious. Finally there’s the actual nice restaurant, definitely on the expensive side and you’ll probably feel a little underdressed. Chris looks around at all of the places and shakes her head. “I don’t know what any of these places are, you choose.” She seems a little better than before, less stiff, but you can tell she’s judging you a bit. >>31091938nah, what needs to happen is we need to enchant it to change color depending on which girls are around and how attracted they are to us. If they are harem members, their tastes influence the color scheme
>>31091938In quest? We're a goddamn enchanter, make up some runes to have it reflect the mood of people in the room. Big ol' mood ring room.
>>31091448I really should've known better...Well…hmm. While you were on a budget and you’d already dropped a decent bit on Tatsuko’s lunch, you didn’t want to seem like you were being a cheap-skate either. That meant something at least a little more upscale than the sports bar or the pizza places. That left the mid-range places. Taking a closer look at the Japanese place, you see that it looks clean and there are at least a few other groups of kids inside. That hopefully meant that it was one of those family run stores that turned out to be secretly delicious while also cheap. “Here,” you say, nodding to the door, “Noodles sounds good tonight, there’s plenty of choices too.” You see Christiane’s eyes light up slightly, but you aren’t able to tell why as you enter the store. A slightly younger Japanese (at least you assume she’s Japanese) woman smiles politely and escorts you and Christiane to a booth. After being seated you’re both given a glass of water before you begin scanning the menu. You haven’t eaten out at restaurants like this very much, but something about the curry udon calls to you. Setting down your menu you see your guest staring intently at the menu. “Need help?” you ask. She shakes her head no. “I’m just wondering if they have the Zaru-udon, otherwise I’m going to get the Yaki udon.” You don’t quite get what she’s talking about, but you assume that you’ve picked well since she’s already having trouble deciding. As your waitress comes back you both order, you with the curry udon and her having to get the Yaki udon. You have a little time now. >>31092054“So I guess I picked ok then,” you say as the waitress walks away, “Seeing as how you apparently liked the menu.” Christiane smiles a bit at this, just enough to let you know she’s teasing, “Maybe, depends on how good the food is.” Her face settles a little, “But in all seriousness, yes, I do enjoy Japanese food. I lived there for a while and it always brings back good memories.” “Ah,” you say, nodding, “I’ll keep that in mind then.” After that the two of you just chat a little, mostly about where you grew up, at least you think you did. It’s kind of a blur seeing as how the plot took over then, but you think it went pretty well. Shortly afterward the waitress brings out your food. Both of you dig in, though there is a brief moment where Christiane takes your hand and shows you how to “Really” hold a pair of chopsticks, though you thought yours was just fine thank you very much. But you do have to admit her hands felt nice on yours, even if they were just correcting you. >+5 Protag points. Total now 228 points. >>31093018And I have 0 interest in both Christine and the black haired one.>>31092996Honestly, the point of Harem things is that there is somebody to appeal to everyone. If some people want a loli, chances are, there will be a loli. Because appealing to the minority is easy when you can check the "all of the above" box.
>>31093038even if that is the case we need the super loli powers and fanservice that comes from a loli she doesn't need to be young just flat chested and petite. Also should be a yandere.
>>31093060I'd stick my dick in much worse places if it were actually a god.
>>31093009>don't worry too much about us not seeing our roommate again in a timely fashionYou're assuming we will get that opportunity regularly. I will bet that between school, the various other girls, and the actual plot of the story, we might find her missing from her room more often than expected.Just a thought, considering I've experienced having college neighbors that you constantly miss, despite the best efforts of both of us.
>>31093060You're in luck: The OP has said no lewd in this quest. We can have as many as we want without that ever happening.
>>31093072We're in a tv show. If we can't find her, we drop some protag points. It's that simple.
>>31093063>the point of Harem things is that there is somebody to appeal to everyoneHence, I don't really see any problem with a loli, or even a vampire loli, as long as they aren't simply shoved into the harem/circle of friends. Some people don't like lolis, some don't like the other girls. I don't really see a reason why we can't at least meet one of each of the types.
>>31093049That's Evangeline from Negima. OP broken powerful mage, got sealed by MC's daddy so lost a good amount of that power but retains the knowledge. Can take the form of a beautiful mature woman when unsealed or when the moon is full, but true form is loli form as she was turned at a young age. Is actually over 100 years old. Very much a Dom as well.I liked her character, she kind of got me into vamp lolis.>>31093060And that is why being the vamp loli is suffering. Any idea how hard it is to find a good man with a body like that? About the only people who'd be interested in you would be pedophiles and they're evil and disgusting! And normal people (like you) just can't get it up to satisfy their adult urges and desires.I say, the better the personality, the less her appearance matters. If she was a great woman I could get over it.
>>31093116Excellent! Then there's no justification to represent lolis in this quest. That's truely a relief anon, thank you for easing my mind.
>>31093129>We're in a tv show. If we can't find her, we drop some protag points. It's that simple.Protag points are great, BUT we shouldn't throw around points all the time just because we have them. I'd prefer to be a bit more safe with the points until it's really necessary, but that's just the gamer in me speaking, I suppose.
>>31093158protag points don't even make sense, because we spend them to be more like a protagonist, so why does running out of them make us not the protag? we should just have a minimum amount, where the plot wont let us suspend disbelief more
>>31093143except you know the whole we are in a Harem TV show thing and that almost ever one has a loli or at the very least a super moe character. We will be getting one whether we want it or not so... deal with it.
>>31092801You seize the chance as you feel it, pushing your power at the point in the story. You don’t feel anything happen at first, but you wait. Last time it took a little while for it to work. Then it happens. The wind gusts higher, just as Christiane takes a step that’s slightly off. The combination causes her to wobble, just enough that she leans into you and catches herself around your waist. Along with a mighty shiver that goes through her body, this is incentive enough for you to put your arm around her waist as well. You feel her tense up slightly, but a look down towards her face lets you know that she isn’t angry. In fact, you see that she’s blushing all the way up to her hair. But she doesn’t move away, so you keep walking. She keeps step the entire way, her arm never leaving your waist even as you make your way up the dorm stairs.
>>31093189You walk her to her door. Sure, it’s just a few steps farther but it’s the gentlemanly thing to do. As you reach it, she slowly disengages her arm from your waist and you remove yours as well. She steps forward and unlocks her door, for a second you thought she was going to leave without saying anything. But she turns around, her face still red. “T-thanks for dinner,” she says, just enough nerves in her voice to let you hear them, “It was nice.” You nod, “I enjoyed it, thank you for letting me do that to make it up to you.” She nods again, face still red. “I-I did too. Thank you.” It’s here that she glances around and then quickly pops on her toes and gives you a peck on the cheek. It surprises you enough that she gets through the door with a quickly shouted “Goodnight!” before you can react. >Christiane +5 attraction You place a hand on your cheek. Damn, must be moving fast in this one. You open your door and go back into your room. Checking the clock, it’s nearly 10:00. A little late, but you could still do something, maybe look up some runes or just watch T.V. Or you could go to sleep.>See if you can learn anything.>Chill>Go to bed>Other
Rolled 246>>31093180Nah, it's more like "Star Power": Doing relationship stuff gets you points, which you can use for things that may not be related to relationships things. Get too low on points and the focus might shift to another relationship and that's bad.
>>31093143>Excellent! Then there's no justification to represent lolis in this quest.Reasoning fail.Having a loli in the harem has nothing to do with sticking a dick in them onscreen, just like having a tsundere, or a sleepy girl, or crazy teacher represented has nothing to do with that either.By your reasoning, we shouldn't be trying to get close to any of the girls, much less have any of them represented, because by wanting a harem, we want to "stick a dick in them".Good grief, not having lewd means there's no sex in the thread, or if it happens, it's some sort of fade to black thing.

>>31093324Flipping through your book, you focus on the section about wards. Wards in the case of enchanting, are mainly focused on warning the owner of a certain approach or guarding a certain area. You see a few things that might help you. >Basic Ward: It has no settings, only an on/off that can be triggered by the creator. Will make a loud noise and shock the intruder if triggered. Can be made with simple things like ink or pencil. One use only. 2 mana cost.>Advanced Ward: Similar to the basic ward, this ward can be changed to grant access to others as well. Shock is a little stronger. Will activate twice. Requires a small focus. 5 mana.>Basic home defense ward: This ward is the most complex out of the ones you can use immediately. It will provide warning to the owner if anyone unauthorized to enter tries to enter while activated. Can be programmed to let in others. Will not actually stop intruders, just provide you with warning. Semi-permanent, requires periodic re-charging. Requires a decent focus. 20 mana. >Two way ward: This ward could solve your issues with Chris. Permanent unless removed, it is a simple on/off light that could let you know when either is in the bathroom. You feel like you could probably learn two of the smaller ones or the big one and a smaller if you did a small montage. >Choose two small.Or>-5 Protag points, learn the big and one small. Choose small.

>>31093613>-5 Protag points, learn the big and one small. >advanced ward
>>31093613well these are mostly useless. Learn the advanced ward and the Two way ward. The home defence one we can learn eventually once we get a lab kind of thing set up
>>31093613Basic home dense ward and basic ward
>>31093613>>Advanced Ward
>>31093613whelp, lets never look at this section ever again. Don't waste points, the 'big' home defense ward is not as good as the advanced ward
>>31089208We need a Sunohara then.
>>31093613>>Two way ward:learn this
>>31093613flip back to offensive boosts. None of these are worth a montage
>>31093613only decent one is probably advanced ward, but I feel like a quick tazing isn't going to stop anybody we'll piss off
>>31093628I agree with this, as we don't currently have a focus.
>>31093680Yeah. Can we do this? Wards seem a little shit for the moment.
Rolled 1, 3, 3, 1, 3, 1 = 12>>31093703agree
>>31093703They'll always be shit if you don't grab the basics.
>>31093680supporting this if possible. Literally the only non-shit ward here is the advanced one, and only if we can layer it to deadly force
Hmm, going to need some tweaking I see. As an aside, you do already have basic offensive and defensive boosts for both physical and magical aspects. You have 20/20 mana to spend on those as you want. Also, I will take suggestions for what /tg/ thinks would be decent low level wards. Or we could just move on.
>>31093613>Two smallWe don't have enough Mana for the Big One yet.-Advanced Ward-Two way ward
>>31093722Home defense is excellent, potentially even better than a zappy ward, because sometimes you don't want others to know that you know they broke in. A mild zappy ward over the apartment is the essence of futility for any determined burglar.
>>31093718they don't seem to open to anything good though. I mean, basic goes from shock to bigger shock. I would assume an advanced home defense ward adds a shock onto the alarm. In order to make wards useful, we need to dip into either summoning (so tripping the ward summons things), mysticism (for bullshit like Sepia Snake Sigil), or casting (Explosive Runes, anybody?)
>>31093748>decent low level wardsSoundproofing
>>31093753I agree. But we don't need any wards at the moment. Besides, if miss slendy gets into our room, a) it won't fucking matter, b) she wouldn't give a shit.We have no enemies to ward against yet. Therefore we should get offensive or defensive.Or charm spells
Rolled 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 = 7>>31093748magic barrier: a small barrier in front of you static and will only last 2 hits from weak magic or 2 minutes.
>>31093748Soundproofing would be good. Or a gps ward. A ward that would allow us to stick things together like superglue would be good. Maybe a ward to teleport small items to ourelves, like change or pens.
>>31093748low level ward... hmmm... maybe some kind of ward that tracks the time, and zaps you when programmed important times come up. like a portable alarm clock, almost.
>>31093748its not so much that you got the low level wards wrong as low level warding is almost useless as opposed to low level buffs. At higher power levels, wards end up becoming contingent and multifaceted, as well as extremely powerful, making them a lot more useful
>>31093748I think people were probably thinking wards as personal wards, like a protection against low level summoned creatures, rather than static/area wards
>>31093806Agreed. But for now, buffing is much more versatile.
Alright, making an executive level decision.Give me 1d100+30 for studying low to mid level "wards". We can decide what you learned when something actually comes up and you can blow protag points for it instead of arguing over minutiae.
>>31093806on top of this, we don't really know what the show's going to send at us and how powerful it's going to be, so people are trying to figure out what magic is going to keep us and our new harem as safe as possible in the early game. Letting us know when somebody sneaks into our room isn't really going to do that

>>31093613Deciding to take the time to learn some of the wards in the book, you start reading. The basic ones go by fast, you feel like any baby could do them but you’re sure there’s someone somewhere who’s just as bad at enchanting as you are at mysticism. Soon you’re flipping through the pages at nearly one a minute. You don’t even slow as you hit the mid-level ones. Some of these you can do, some of them you can’t simply because you don’t have enough mana to cast them yet. It’s not until you find yourself near the back of the section reading about high end, multi-layer defenses against spirits and demons that you stop yourself. Trying to remember the last couple of rune groups that you’ve read, you draw a blank. That’s probably fine, you didn’t have anywhere near the mana to cast those yet anyway. But you did go through nearly the entire section on wards, leaving you with a nice pool of knowledge to draw from. Glancing at the clock, you see it’s 12 AM, time for bed if you wanted a decent night’s sleep. Changing into your sleep-wear, you brush your teeth and crawl into bed, eyes heavy. As you start to drift off however, you feel another plot point come by. This one however, is different than before. It has different levels, how far you want to push things. But it doesn’t feel like it’s absolutely necessary. So, what do you do?>Drop 5 points: I like my mornings easy with a side of relaxation.>Drop 10 points: A little excitement wouldn’t hurt anything. >Drop 20 points: Hah, you only drank six cups of coffee? Bad news. We attracted the attention of an eldritch horror.Good news, its also attracted to us. Bad news, it wants to end the world to show its affection. More bad news, we probably can't reason with it so its the main antagonist...have fun!
>>31094195Oh my, that's FAR too lewd.
Alright, calling it here. You guys clearly want MAXIMUM PLOT!I don't know when the next thread will be, I'm finally going back to work and some nights I get off on time, some nights I don't. So follow me on twitter if you want to keep up to date, it's at the top of the thread. Then, my questions for you. Did you enjoy this thread? Aka character building and talking. If not, why not/how can I make it better. Also, is the magic ok squishy or do you really want set spells etc.Other than that, I'll be around for questions.
>>31094206Would that be classified as yandere? I haven't watched all that much anime.Someone mind giving me a quick rundown on the different archetypes?
I like squishy things especially boobs
>>31094213This one>>31093050
>>31094213I enjoyed the characterization. And magic is more fun when it's squishy, but a general idea of what we can/can't do when we learn something new would be good too.
>>31094213I think that a squishy magic system is nice. Gives us a lot of flexibility, and you don't have to spend your free-time thinking up spells.I can't wait until we get into our enchantment class and she starts to cover wards. Then asks if anybody knows any wards.
>>31094213Thread was awesome. The only thing I'd really like is faster post times with the same quality, which is completely unreasonable since you're already one of the faster-moving quests on /tg/. As for the magic, squishy will be more interesting, but having only set spells will be a bit less powerful so you might have to go to that if we start getting out of hand. Question-who is Guide's favorite girl? I don't care if it's one of the girls in the quest yet, just curious
>>31094249Yeah, like giving us a cap or something.
>>31094263I feel like we'll have memorized all the wards in the book by the end of the week and need personal instruction. Hot elven enchantress mebbe?
>>31094243That means as long as you guys are reasonable, plot will mean you have enough money. So, buying a meal for a girl/going shopping for a few items is fine. Dropping a few thousand on a fancy bracelet, no, not going to happen unless you work for it in thread.>>31094249>>31094263Alright, glad you guys are ok with the magic being a little squishy, I'll do my best to keep it reasonable and let you know where you are. >>31094269I'll keep this in mind. As for my favorite girl, well, I do have one. But I'm not sure I want to say. That can mess quests up.
>>31094308>Dropping a few thousand on a fancy bracelet, no, not going to happen unless you work for it in threadof course not. we'll have to montage to get the raw materials, then toil for hours enchanting it just rightwhat happens if we lose protagonist status? will we have a chance to get it back, is it like a Bad End, do we just switch PoV, etc.?
>>31094308Ah, come on, we're gonna waifu over all of them anyways.
>>31094308I honestly enjoy this thread a lot. Sorry for mostly just lurking, just seemed like there were enough voters that you didn't need another.
>>31094340No, he's right, you faggots cannot be trusted to know who he likes. We should totally harem antics with the most harem-hating sentient we can find.
>>31094225There are many archetypes, but when it comes to personality there are three main ones.Tsundere: She acts tough and mean, belittling you and acting kinda like a bitch. For example, she'll like to call you "baka" (means idiot, dummy). But sometimes she acts nice, gives you gifts (not because she likes you or anything wink wink), blushes when you get close or worry about her, ect... In short, she only gives off the appearance she doesn't like you most of the time, but she really does like you. (example: Tohsaka Rin from F/SN, Kaname Chidori from Full Metal Panic)Kuudere: They don't care about you, they don't care about much of anything. Aloof and damn near emotionless, but like the tsundere, that's just an act. They do care, they do like you, but instead of being confrontational about it or mean they just play it off aloofly. (example: C2 from Code Geass, Ayamine Kei from Muv-Luv)Yandere: The crazy ass bitch. She loves you, way too fucking much. She sees all other women who are close to you as "the enemy" who must be removed from your presence ASAP. If that means a little murder, so be it. She also wants you all to herself... forever. >>31094370Never opine about anime stereotypes again. Fuck.
>>31094331If you somehow lose protag status, your protag points will drain at a certain rate (TBD) and you will need the help of your girls to get you back into that status. >>31094370Fuck off. You're talking about Modern Tsundere. Real Tsundere is a transitional term, IE, a girl moves from 'get the fuck out of my face before I stab you' to 'You forgot your bento, darling, have a good day at work!' Learn your goddamn terminology or don't ever talk again.
>>31094213I'm the guy who suggested the antagonist earlier.Overall, we got shit done this session. Not all of it was action-packed, but I understand that choices matter and quiet times can be just as fun as others. One thing I suggest is to incorporate more dice rolls; we're gamblers at heart, and chance is fun!Tl;dr: you did well, you are credit to team.
>>31094435Welcome polite anon. >>31094438Let me just say, I think you guys have that covered now.
>>31094478Wait... Have what covered? Are we gonna get our antagonist at last?
>>31094437Very much true, though he did ask for a quick rundown and the "modern" tsundere is more common in the current day, so there's that. If he wanted an essay on the subject (which would have mentioned that fun fact) he would have asked for it.Geez, a man asks for a quick rundown and you hatin' on the fact I didn't go into the intricate history of the archetypes.
