Your name is Alice Lindon, a prototype Infiltration/Assassination android and right now as you hand in your completed homework and prepare for the first day of class, you consider your actual plans.

You need to pick up the trail of the person that left the fluid trail and dropped that ceramic knife. By now the fluids will have decayed, but chemical traces would still remain, allowing you to follow them to where their likely hideout is.

You realise that you're on your own for this one; a powerful mega-conglomerate clearly is abusing its influence to maintain and enforce a deadly code of silence over the city.

Any answers you need will have to be ripped right out of Kanzaki Pacific Holdings itself.

You raise your hand and smoothly answer, "42."

Mrs. Hern smiles at you, "Correct Alice, the answer to Life, The Universe and Everything was indeed 42. Now then, can anyone tell me what Mister Adams was going for when he made the answer '42'? Anyone?"

You settle down to focus on class, the real work would come at First Break.

1d100 for general voting, best roll out of five is chosen.

Combat is 1d100 with modifiers for how many shots you fire in combat. Best out of three roll is chosen.

Burst Fire and Full-Auto Fire attacks can be done multiple times in one action, but each attack after the first incurs a cumulative -10 penalty.

Body armour subtracts from total damage done per attack.

You can target multiple enemies in a single action. Roll 1d100+modifier for each target. Specify for each roll the target and the attack used.

Takedowns and Executions are 1d100-20 and a short paragraph describing the Takedown or Execution. Best out of three rolls is chosen, but I will pick which action description looks the best to me.

Reactor Charges are your healing mechanic. Expend a Reactor charge and roll 12d6. Reactor Charges stack, and are regained through Takedowns and Executions.

Stability is a measure of your Yandere psychological state. If you lose a certain amount, known as the Snap Limit, you Snap and enter a state of emotional hysteria and brief psychosis. Lose all your Stability, and you go Berserk, and will perform a violent action, often against your love interest.

Relationship is how strong your relationship with Ian Carter is. You have to keep your relationship as high as possible. If you drive the relationship down into negative numbers, Ian will reject you, and you will proceed to murder him and commit suicide.

Good luck.

You pick up the trail easily. Unlike most other bio-chemicals, this one leaves very visible stains that take days to fade and hours for rain to wash out.

You begin following the trail, finding that it steadily leads out into the city outskirts, where the ruins of the older coastal city that The City replaced are more prominent.

No-one except the truly destitute and miserable call that place home, not when the Slum-dwellers all support each other like a massive family.

You check your chronometer and frown, you're out of time. You need to head back before you're missed.

>Head Back
We know that it leads to the city outskirts, and last time we tried to press on we (apparently) almost got ourselves into deep shit. Even though we have our invisibility on, I'm still paranoid.

By the way, I'm curious, how exactly is it that there's a coast town in Kazakhstan, which is deep in the Eurasian continent and not touching the ocean. Did Global Warming floods connect the Black and Caspian Seas? Forgive me if this was already answered, but I can't recall it.

>>31871185

I did some searching, and I couldn't find a city called Akatu on the Black Sea Coast, but I did find the city of Aktau on the Caspian. I'm asking because the Caspian is isolated from the oceans, so I got confused as to how exactly there could be a huge port there.
>>
>>31871268
It does have a port, if you google maps it
>>
>>31871268

Global flooding and some mega-canal projects that cut a country or two into sections helped in that regard. There's a few places that are underwater thanks to those two elements.

A lot of the old ports were destroyed by nukes or infested with bio-weapons and new ones had to be found, even ones sitting on inland seas.

And that meant doing something creative.

>Continue Onwards

You decide to press onwards. There's no such thing as a model student, you can skip classes this once and play it off as getting lost.

With how huge the actual campus is, they'd believe you. Your late-night research while listening to Ian through the wall informed you of just how many rooms were closed down and sealed due to the opressive grip of mega-cons and their private academies.

And wouldn't you know it? Kanzaki Pacific Holdings runs one here, the largest one, and it's of course choking out the competition.

Well, it would be a shame if something happened to it, but that's a pipe dream with the money that comes from them into The City.

You follow the trail into the outskirts proper and get your first good look at the former city of Aktau.

Buildings sag and lean at dangerous angles, glimmers of firelight visible in some of the windows as you track heat signatures.

Aktau was hit by a tactical nuke, but the dissolution of Georgia and the devastation of Iran meant that there was no-one to oppose an army of indentured workers building the two massive mega-canals that allowed The City to be built while global flooding allowed for the Caspian to be connected to the Mediterranean once more.

This important for global trade, especially with the Suez now a bioweapon-infested hellhole.

Still, Aktau was gone, only The City remained and you continue following the stains until you find yourself standing in front of one somewhat intact building.

Your chronometer beeps inside your head. You cannot go onwards. You need to go back Now, but you're satisfied that you've another tangible link in finding this mystery person as you disengage your limiters and run faster than any human is capable of back to the school.

You manage to look appropriately disheveled when you stumble into Mister Lockheed's class with a blurted cry of "Sorry! Sorry! I got lost!"

While the other students titter and chuckle, Mister Lockheed simply smiles understandingly.

>Glare at her.

Your hate-filled glare seems to answer her question but you prevent her from speaking as you grind out, "You may not have noticed, but I'm the jealous type."

Midori shakes her head, "No, you're something else. You're just like her, my sister. You're consumed with the thought of pleasing Ian by any means possible, and you'll kill or cripple anyone or anything that stands in your way."

She turns away from you, "You want me dead, don't you?"

"What do you think?" You snap.

Midori smiles sadly, "It doesn't have to be this way. You don't have to hate me, there is a way we can get along."

"If the words out of your mouth are for me to give up Ian, I'll rip you in two." You growl.

Midori shakes her head, "No, I mean actually tolerating each other. Listen..." She turns and faces The City, "You've noticed haven't you? The grip that my family has on The City? That's because they were the ones to initially fund the founding of this place."

You file the information away, "And?"

"I want this to end. I want the pall of fear over the people to vanish, and to do that..."

She turns to you, "I need my sister to stay dead."

You frown, "What do you mean?"

Midori grimaces, "My sister isn't dead. And I know she'll be coming for Ian soon. Kill her, and make sure she stays dead, and Ian will be yours."

Midori holds out her hand, "Deal?"

But first, you need to make use of the equipment that Mom had to leave behind as you make your way into New City using forged ID's.

At the safehouse, you check your new bike and decide that you'll show it off to Ian later. For now, you head to the secret door and open it to reveal the monitoring equipment.

Now then, let's see what this equipment can do.

The system comes to you easily and you find yourself tasking the orbital surveillance Mini-Sat Network the terminal is connected to into an orbit over The City and focus on the location you had found.

The Mini-Sats have suites of sophisticated sensors and pretty much immediately you get...two signals?

You zoom in, focusing on seeing what you can see in this new development and you stare as the image clears up to reveal Kitsune, standing on the roof, and seconds later, a figure engulfed with a large, hooded coat steps out of the shadows.

Unfortunately, you cannot listen in and the resolution isn't enough for your lip-reading to work.

But it's clear that the Kitsune is working with the source of the bio-restorer leaks, who likely is the Lily Knife Killer as you designate her in your head.

They appear to be having an argument, if you're reading the body language right, and the Kitsune is not pleased.

As you try to figure out what they're arguing about, your eyes widen as you witness Kitsune hand over another ceramic knife.

Oh shit...

Since we're a robot, I imagine we have some way to record video, and barring that, we should at least have some software on the terminal that can do that. We should definitely do that, in case it comes in handy.
>>
>>31875601
>Keep watching.

>Keep watching.

You continue watching the video as the silent argument continues and you gauge the rough mood of the pair from the way they're acting.

The Lily Killer, who may or may not be Hana Kanzaki, is clearly agitated by the way her gloved hands are clenching and unclenching, but the coat and hood prevent positive identification as she points at Kitsune.

Kitsune's mood is far more visible as you see furrows being gouged by her near invisible nano-whip tails. You manage to accurately count at least nine of them, just like the legends.

She's not pleased and you blink as the Lily Killer throws the knife on the ground and tried to walk away, only to halt mid-step, likely with nano-whips around her as Kitsune steps forward.

The Lily Killer turns and you see the argument get vicious, before finally Kitsune lets the Lily Killer go.

After a few moments, Kitsune vanishes from the rooftops, optical camouflage, and soon after the Lily Killer does the same thing.

So, they're working together are they?

This could be useful.

You stand up and leave the monitoring room, smiling at the new information. Perhaps Kitsune might be convinced to introduce her 'friend', perhaps with the story of wanting to hurt Kanzaki?

Or perhaps you can give this info to Midori. After all, Ian wants you two to get along and this is a way to get along...right?

You close the secret door and consider your options.

You decide to keep the data. You don't trust Midori as far as you can throw her, and while the actual distance is quite far, the sentiment is the same.

You don't trust her. That entire exchange held the stink of That Man all over her, like you were looking at him as she spoke.

You place the data in a secure memory unit and encrypt it, where it should be safe from theft, although with one of your sisters being a powerful hacker, you are not so sure.

You prepare to leave the house, intent on spending some time cuddling Ian before Rebecca gets home, when you pause and stare.

There, lying on the footpath, is the woman you saw in the cryo-preservation unit.

You walk over and carefully check her, nodding as you find a pulse and after some investigation you find signs of injectors, feed lines and other necessary means to keep someone in that state alive.

She had to have been released, or the system released her, soon after you and Kitsune escaped.

But how did she find this place? Did she use to live here?

Now that you think about it, the safehouse was owned by a woman who vanished under mysterious circumstances before Mom purchased it...maybe this is her?

For now, you take her to a guest room and make comfortable, before heading downstairs to make some snacks in case she's hungry when she wakes up.

Your own bio-monitoring systems indicate extreme exhaustion and quite possibly hunger, so make sure to have a full spread of snacks ready before bring them and some drinks upstairs.

The woman is still out cold but breathing steadily as you place the tray down on the bedside table and carefully check over her.

Hmm, looks like she'll be out for-

"No dream." You reply dispassionately and the woman looks at you with wide eyes, "This is my house, I have the property deeds. If you're who I think you are, you vanished nearly 18 years ago."

The woman stares at you disbelievingly, before tears come to her eyes and she slowly curls into a ball with a loud, keening wail.

>Comfort her.
>Sit there.
>>
>>31878523
>Comfort her.

But also scan her to make sure her emotions aren't faked.
>>
>>31878523
>>Comfort her.
Why are you crrryyyinnnggg?
>>
>>31878523
>Comfort her.
>>
>>31878523
>Comfort her.
>>
>>31878523
>>Comfort her.
no words, only hugs
>>
>>31878523
>>Comfort her.

I'm only picking this because Ian would.

Otherwise chick needs to start talking.
>>
>>31878672
well, we are trying to not be so rigid around people who aren't Ian
>>
>Comfort her.

You lean in and wrap your arms around her, engaging your infrasonics to emit soothing noises to try and calm her down.

All you can hear from her is babbling about a man, a happy life as a married woman, a family that she loved with all her heart.

And then experiments and pain.

She soon rapidly degenerates into more sobbing, all the while lamenting something that chills your blood.

Lamenting her daughter Chiyo, and being forced to birth two more daughters.

Hana.

And Midori.

You now realise you are holding the biological birth mother of the heiresses to the Kanzaki Eastern Europe Branch Family.

You are comforting a ghost.

(And that's part 32! Part 33 will hopefully be up tomorrow at 7:00AM, GMT+10!)
>>
>>31878523
>>Comfort her.
Good cop
>>
>>31878672
Honestly I would pick it because a calm women who remembers you helped her is a lot easier to talk too.
>>
>>31878747
my my my. Seems we got ourselves a very powerful chip to play.
>>
>>31878747
>Ghost

Oh dear.
>>
>>31878747
wow.
>>
>>31878747
So we're in the former house of the mom who gave birth to the heirs to the mega corp which runs the city, and she's probably yandere as hell. And there's a good chance that just by being with her, we're attracting the attention of Kitsune, her daughters, and the mega corp. Yep, this is somehow getting even more crazy. I'm loving it...
>>
>>31878747
We could have hacker sis track down the husband...who's probably dead already.

Man, her life sucks.

We'll need to probe how much of this Midori knows, and if either of them want to see each other.

Better if we return the house, but maintain it's use as a safehouse. We can help set her up to have a normal life, or just have her work for us.
>>
>>31878747
Time to get out with EVERYTHING, this place is DEFINATELY not secure as a safehouse if it is the childhood home of the Kanzaki's.
>>
>>31878915
it's not. The children were born AFTER the kidnapping. It's definitely someplace the Kanzakis know about, though, so it will only function as a safehouse after all this blows over.
>>
>>31878747
What the fuck was our Mother doing with the family home of the Kanzakis' mother?
>>
>>31878747
Thanks for writing! Do we have a way to contact kitsune, aka Chiyo?
>>
>>31878747
Holy shit.

Thanks for the thread, Gideon!
>>
>>31878747
>Then you hear a noise and jerk back as the Kitsune turns, "You bastards...not enough that you had to take my mother...you make her your little science project. I'll destroy you, destroy you all."
that "science project" part worries me... but yeah, i'm pretty sure kitsune is Chiyo
>>
What, was the mom in cryo to cure her yandereness? Was that why she was being experimented on? For a yandere cure?
>>
>>31879128
So Chiyo is the kitsune, Midori is still human, and Hana is probably a cyberzombie golem killer.

Lovely.
>>
>>31879145
Other way around. They experimented on her to make her children weird. No idea if just Hana is yandere or if all of them are.
>>
>>31879163
Maybe her daughters being yandere was a direct result of the experimentation.

Oh gods. They're programming babies to grow up to become yanderes.
>>
>>31879145
>>31879163
>>31879193
Honestly, I think in this world, every single female can be assumed to be a yandere, and every single male can be assumed to be either crazy or targeted by crazies. It's gotta be in the blood or something.
>>
>>31879228
Well, Alice's friends at school seem not to be yandere. They just have really messed up backstories.
>>
>>31879193
yeah, it's highly probable that at least hana and midori were either messed with before their birth, or even "engineered" as perfect humans

maybe they all have a few weapons hidden in their bodies, and their mother some kind of control device to keep her docile
>>
>>31879128
>>31879159
Hurray. I wasn't the only one thinking that after reading the last part.

With what Anon posted (>>31879128)
Anyone want to bet that Chiyo and Hana are considered failures by Kanzaki with Midori being the heir they wanted. So the two 'sisters' are out for blood on Kanzaki as a whole and Midori using us to solve her little problem and/or hoping we just all off each other.

Or am I just stating whats obvious to everyone else because sometimes I miss the obvious.
>>
>>31879337
Pretty good chance of that, but we need some more proof before outing her to Ian.

The most dangerous thing Midori could be is NOT yandere but STILL manipulative.
>>
>>31879337
Yea, I'm also thinking that Midori isn't as innocent as she's trying to play herself off as (there's no way she would just 'give up' on Ian if she's as yandere as I suspect her to be.) Also, I'm curious as to what's going on with the actual head (heads?) of the corporation currently. There had to have been somebody to "force her to birth two more daughters," and I have a feeling it wasn't the husband.
>>
>>31879453
I'm wondering if Midori's father is even alive at this point.
>>
>>31879666
if he is, he's probably behind everything
