You reposition yourself on the dirt floor of the well. Sitting upright you’re completely still. You don’t think. You don’t breath... but then it comes. You feel tears well up in your eyes as you are hit with a massive burst of emotions. You cover your face with your hands and, losing your strength, promptly slam your face into the dirt soaking it to mud.

You where yelled at, attacked by your own mother, becosted by some sort of saturday morning cartoon monster... And a dog... it’s... it’s just too much to bear.

Your legs give way and you collapse to the ground, continuing your sobbing until you are left without tears and dry heave yourself into exhaustion. Then you realize... no one came to help you. Not a soul. You’re completely alone here... alone to finally die.

You drift into unconsciousness for about 2 hours before the pain of your wounds stirs you from your slumber. You have regained some of the function of your arm and most of your leg it seems, but you’re still in bad shape. You wipe the sodden earth from your face and open your backpack. No more time for tears. No more time for a knight in shining armor. You WILL survive...

Rifling through your backpack you take note of everything inside of it. Most of it is crap for the situation you’re dealing with. The plastic bag of groceries and medical supplies should be helpful if you get trapped down here for a while.

HEY! You know what would be a good idea to get your mind off being trapped in a dirty bone pit? Opening the other two birthday presents you got today.

You reach for the small wrapped box first

Standing up you notice a small baggie labeled “Cleansing Salt: Demon be Gone!” on the floor. It must have fallen out of one of the boxes. You stuff it in your pocket.

While the smoke is definitely something you need to check out... you’ve just GOT to look at that tree... Maybe you’re house is around here after all? You’ve got no idea but you need to know.

Looking around you find a large branch on the forrest floor and quickly strip off the leaves and twigs making it into a large walking stick. Giving it a few thumps on the ground you determine that it should be a handy weapon if you get into a tight spot.

You begin limping along the path until, panting, you arrive a few yards outside of another clearing. Fireflies dance around and crickets buzz as the moonlight pierces through leaves and branches giving it a very... scenic feel.

Walking closer you see a human figure against the tree in the distance, you step back and ready yourself for a fight... but he doesn’t move.

You slink off the path and into the forrest, approaching from a different angle as quietly as you can until you’re standing in the clearing yourself. You limp up to the tree. Tethered to it by vines and pierced in the heart by an arrow is a young man in some sort of red renascence festival costume with white hair and... animal ears? A cosplay or LARP gone bad? You’ve got no idea, but he’s not moving and by the vines it seems like he has been here quite a while.

There's no mistaking it though... this is definitely the giant tree from your yard...

“H-Hello? Mister?” You loudly whisper. “Are you ok?”

He gives no response. You look around the clearing for anything suspicious or that would indicate any kind of trap, but it seems clean... not that your an expert tracker, woodsman, or... trapspert.

Satisfied, but weary you shamble closer and prod him in the side with your walking stick. There’s no reaction. You furrow your brow, no way someone could look THAT good and be dead for so long. You jab him harder. No response. Sighing you lift up his arm and bounce it on your walking stick a little. It jiggles like his muscles are completely relaxed.

You let out another sigh of relief. A dead guy. Great. At least you aren’t bleeding as much any more. Still though he might have some useful clues as to where you are or maybe an ID.

You set your walking stick down in the grass and walk up the vines to him. His skin is somewhat luke warm to the touch, but he doesn’t appear to be breathing. Pressing your ear to his chest it appears his heart has stopped beating as well. This must have been a fresh kill maybe? Still you should probably check to see if he has any pockets.

He either grew his hair super long and died it or hes got a ton of bobby pins in it. The ears felt like they where the same as his hair too. What a weirdo. Other than that and his black eye brows he doesn’t have any other weird things going on with him... besides being dead and covered in vines.

You notice a glint on the ground, it’s 4 small coins. They must have fallen out when you where messing with him. You decide to pocket them for good measure. Looking up the young man still has not moved.

This game is currently based on a D20 system. Any and all rolls, unless otherwise specified will use a D20 (in the email field pace: dice+Xd20 where X is the number called for).

If the QM asks for 1D20 to be cast, each player will roll 1D20. Likewise if the GM asks for 2D20, each player will roll 2D20 and so on.

Dice rolls of 1 are critical failures for both the QM and players. Likewise rolls of 20 are automatic success.

Only the first three rolls to reply to the QM post asking for rolls will be used unless otherwise stated. They MUST include any and all modifiers as per the QMs request.

Deleted dice rolls within the first three will still be used and the QM reserves the right to enact any and all consequences deemed righteous for the attempt at cheating.

The QM also reserves the right to ignore any any all write-in commands that are illogical in “the current situation” Kagome is in.

Either succeed the roll or fail it. If you fail it, you'll have to mention from here on out, every post, that you will not accept rolls that don't explicitly link to it because you would be one of the few quests that make such a hard line on rolls.

Still though, you’re better safe than sorry. You take out the Small bag of Cleansing Salt and form a small completed circle just around the base of the tree. Voodoo works like this you think. It keeps evil from crossing the salt right? BUT only if you believe and you are ABSOLUTELY a believer right now... You wipe your forehead and survey your work. Complete circle and nary a gust of wind in sight. The moonlight dancing off of it even gives it a cute little pink sheen.

Gulping you step up to the man again. “Sorry pal, nothing personal, but I need to borrow your coat for a little while...” and wrap your hands around the arrow shaft, about to pull it from his body when... OH GOD DID IT EXPLODE?!

The arrow glows pink and shatters in your hand. You can just not win today.
