Lisa opens the door, clad in her pajamas and yawning. “Whaaaat?” she moans.

You say, “Exchange students are here. Nancy ain’t answering her door and Ramirez-“ You look to your left, to see Ramirez standing there, already in her coat and uniform. “Oh. Ramirez. Nice to see you.”

Ramirez nods. “Morning.”

Lisa yawns, then scratches at her messy hair. You swear you could see what looks like a bug fall of it. You look past her shoulder to see her room is still quite the mess. “Alright… let me shower first.”

Kitten says, “Would you mind if I-“

After a few minutes, Lisa comes out of her dorm. Her school uniform is messy and unkempt, her hair is a bit frazzled, and she apparently can’t keep her eyes open. You say, “This ain’t like you, Lisa. What’s the fuss?”

Lisa says, “I was trying to force myself to clean my room. You know, maybe if Huxley comes over again, he won’t have to see all that.” She shrugs. “Couldn’t do it. So where to then?”

Kitten says, “This sounds really familiar.”

You sigh, walking over to Fairless bedside and kneeling down beside it. “Come on, Bernadette. Betty will be there, I’ll be there, Nancy and my girls will be there too.” Fairless opens her eyes and wow fucking terrifying jesus Christ you look away. You smile a bit, chuckling nervously. “Come on.” You look her back in the eye and ah fuck. “Do it for me.”

Fairless pauses for a minute, then groans loudly. “Agh! Fine! Fine… Jesus Christ,” she says in her native Georgian drawl.

With that, you spend the next half hour or so showering Fairless, getting her fed, getting dressed (she still sleeps in the nude, you got to wonder what’s up with that.), and finally, you’re on your way to the airport.

Math, English, and Chemistry pass by relatively fast. You’re noticing this pattern, at the beginning of the year, classes seemed to move slower. Now though, it seems like they’re just an automatic thing to keep you from getting bored. At least you manage to absorb the information well enough.

I know, it’s weird considering Australia is in the southern hemisphere but that’s climate change for you! If I were you, I’d consider transportation as soon as possible!

You arrive at the Sewing Club’s Mobile Sewing Club Outpost based out of a tent based out of their M3 Scout Car on the side of the street.

“Hey, Anna…” something catches your eye. “The fuck is that?”

Mamie holds up a very loud dress with all kinds of ornate gears, a hat which appears to be some kind of tank turret, and tank tread leggings. “This is one of our prototypes for the fashion show.”

“… it seems kind of loud, don’t you think?” you say.

Anna says, “Oh, Gertrude! You might think, ‘Oh no, she’s doing that thing where they do the bright and colorful peacock dresses that nobody ever wears!’ But! This is how the Sewing Club makes art! It’s like how in the Modern Art museum there’s a picture with a dot on the wall.”

You nod. That’s nothing like that you admit.

So, random thought for the exhibition match at Lake Braddock: two matches, the first is five versus five with us loaning the Aces and another team to Ekins and us using some of the less experienced teams, the second is the rest of the club against each other (individual or on teams, don't know). That way, everyone can get some practice in without everything getting too overwhelming for the team that only has three tanks.

Random thought, German: is there any sort of mercenary rule for Tankery matches? I mean, are there free agents that can compete for a team?

Mamie and Bess giggle a bit at that.

Anna says, “I see your point. Also, we managed to raise the last bit of money we needed thanks to that fundraiser. We’re pretty much all the way funded now!”

“Great,” you say. “Why are you still out in the Scout Car?”

Mamie says, “It grew on us. We sleep in it now too, occasionally.”

“You’re going to catch a cold,” you say.

Anna grins at you. “Well, if you ever need a dress or anything, feel free to ask! Anything is free for you, Gertrude!”
