Another holoscreen appeared besides Hayate, this time showing a map of the city. It was similar to the last one, but this one had even less infected areas than before.

[The Northern, Easter and Sourthern Sectors are fully freed of Infected, who we have tried to capture, and we are now carrying rescue operations in the safe areas to find any trapped civilians. We will be moving a team into the underground tunnels to search for more infected, while we are building extra blockades to stop the infected from entering the cleared areas.]

Right, the TSAB had probably not tried to do a ground evac to avoid allowing an Infected from escaping the city, but now that the areas are cleared, the TSAB is willing to take the risk and start evacuating.

[The Central and Western areas are still filled with infected, and not only that we are receiving stronger Infected Signatures than before. It looks like the infected in the two areas are growing stronger or are now under the control of someone. Tohma, I would suggest you to be careful.]

You know for sure that the list of things that could threaten that woman are very few, if she is having trouble, then the enemy should be at a level where it can beat you and your team.

In other words, it probably was someone like the Variant Drivers.

Surprisingly someone in your team has remained silent over this matter, someone who was directly involved in this. The one who worked this into the contract with the TSAB had been Isis, under the authorities you had as the Leader of Siber Engel was the right to recruit any civilians into your organizations as long as they accepted. The TSAB would be required to accept that.

Quickly Vivio steps back from you, and you return to normal. Both of your faces are blushing like crazy, but somehow you feel Vivio is no longer that angry with you.

The other members of your team just laugh at you, except for Ein who just face palms at your antics. Still it feels very embarrassing to act like that in front of your friends.

Well in her defense, she is about 3 years old, and she has lived all of those years, except seven weeks, inside a lab where she was experimented.

And of her time outside, she's spent it with Tohma inside him/with him (about a week and some days) or in those six weeks she trained with Nanoha and Mira to find Tohma.

Right, Nanoha was trying to look for her friend, the Enforcer Fate T. Harlaown, so we have to start thinking of where the Enforcer could be.

“Wait, we can think that they might be in the Basement, because from what that Raccoon Commander told us the TSASB is storing some special weapons in that tower and they probably have them in the basement areas, and thus our target might be there.” Isis makes a good point, if they really tried to barricade themselves in the basement, that could explain why no one could contact both the Enforcer and the White Devil, but that sounds fishy.

“Wait, I think they might be in the computing center…” Isis raises her hand as she gives her opinion, “from there they could try to control the operations in the city, so maybe they have been trying to find a way to contain the Outbreaks in the city?” Well that would explain why the outbreak has been so controlled so far, if someone was manipulating the systems in the city to impede the infected from spreading that would certainly explain why the eastern area wasn’t affected much by the outbreak.

So which one would it be… you can access the Com. Tower and the Meeting Spot from the top via flying, you can access the Comp. Center through the ground floor, but accessing the underground floors might be easy through the tunnels underground.

Of course, once inside your team could proceed to climb the tower up or down to get to specific sections but it might be hard.

You try to feel the flow from air from the walls in the tunnels, and with a quick scan of the area you can feel it.

It’s protected very well, but you can feel the EC particles pouring through the small opening of the brick wall. “Here is it, so let’s just!” With a quick slice of your gunblade, the false wall breaks down, as it reveals a metallic hallway illuminated by several red emergency lights.

This should be the weapon development lab where the TSAB was testing both the new Anti-Anti-Magic Device and doing studies on your blood.
The first thing you notice as you enter is the thick density of EC particles in the area… that means that….

“Guys, stay in formation, we don’t know what might be inside here, or what might come from behind us. Stay alert.” You teams enter formation, as the five of you (Lily is reacted with you) start to dive into the entrance of the lab.

The long metallic hallway continues for several hundred meters, before it splits into three doors, one to the left reading Building, one to the right reading Laboratory, and the one in front reading Bunkers.

Eying a metallic box on the corner, you motion to your mate, the second in command of Silber Engel, “Isis, can you hack the systems here, I want to know if we can find anything useful from them.”

“Roger Tohma, just give me a moment.” Isis crouches near the box as she connects a cable to her device, the bracers that she uses to mix poison and chemicals when she fits.

Meanwhile while your teams circles Isis, you concentrate. You expand your mind as you begin to feel the flow of Eclipse Particles in the air.
Similarly to echolocation, you begin sending EC particles around you, and using the information on when they hit something to make a mental image of the area.

“Logical, Logical, I will show you the magic of this Isis-hacker!” Isis fist pumps in the air, as she disconnects from the system, “Well, so far it appears that the system inside here is shot, but I managed to get some useful data. So far it appears that most of the people inside here went to the Bunkers above us, the ones here were made for the ones who worked in the laboratory.”

“Sadly, other than some random info, I am not sure what to tell you, someone disabled the cameras and the security systems of this place, and is still keeping a tight lid on the system here. I even had to disconnect before he found that I had entered the system.”

On your side, you had felt the presence of some EC Particles and what were probably some infected in the Laboratories and the Bunkers, and from what you could see, in the upper basement floor there were minimal EC Particles… so it should be relatively safe.

“I think that there should be someone in the Laboratory and the Bunker… and if someone is controlling the system here, it might be the Enforcer or the White Devil.” Either one of them could have gotten injured here and had hacked into the Communication Systems of the tower, and from there sealed the tower off to protect everyone inside.

“You can’t be sure of that, Tohma.” Mira rose her voice as she gives her explanation, “If someone is controlling these infected, it might be possible that they took control of the system inside the tower so they can stop the intruders and lead them to areas where monsters could ambush them.”

That’s could also be true. So either a friendly took over the system, or an enemy had control over it… so what will you do?

Wordlessly your team nods and separates, as the two trios move towards their respective objectives.

As you enter the laboratory, you and Ein can only see a smaller hallway with a series of 4 doors, three to the side, which would lead to smaller labs, and one at the end which leads probably towards a larger main lab.

In the first of the small labs, from the data Isis and the TSAB gave you, there is a small computer terminal, which should store some of the research they were conducting here.

In the second lab, where should still be samples of prototype weapons that the TSAB were experimenting here on… and in the third lab that’s where they were studying your body samples.

The Excalibur was located at the end of the hall, in the main research lab, with the other 5th Gen Prototypes.

It was not hard to like Tohma, he was a nice guy, and he was easy to open to… you had never shared your past with any of your old friends, but with Tohma it had been oddly easy. Maybe it had to do with how he was crying at the time.

Plus he was like you, he wanted to use his powers to help others, even when others told him he could only live to kill, he wanted to prove them wrong.

You liked that, because you wanted to be like him, you also wanted to find a life that existed beyond killing.

The only thing that captures your attention is a refrigerator with two boxes of colored tubes: one being a red box, and the other a blue box.

At least the TSAB is not cloning you or something. Now that would be weird.

Basically that, she is being taken to Hayate's airship right now and is probably going to be dropped on her base later. Hayate is still trying to explain why she has to stuff a human sized Popsicle on her ship to the top brass.
