You can swear you see a smile creep across her face.

“I figured ye’d say that. There are three disciplines ye can be taught. That of the Miko or Shrine Maiden, the Monk, or the Ronin or wondering Samurai.”

“There’s another thing I’ve been meaning to ask you... that man by the tree, who is he?”

“Ah that is the tree of Inuyasha, a foul demon who was sealed away by my sister 50 years ago...”

“I think I may have woken him up, but he’s trapped behind a barrier.” You say sheepily.

Kaede simply lets out a sigh and grabs something from a wooden box in the corner. “I suppose it would have come to this one way or another. As long as he remains trapped we need not fear.”

The Shrine Maiden uses a bow and her own spiritual powers to control low level demons and control a fight from afar. If she loses her way however she may be able to utilize curses or other evil magics.

The Monk is skilled at aiding teams, exercising demons and setting traps. They tend to rely on an arsenal of blessed items, enchantments, and tools. They typically use staffs or are unarmed.

The Ronin is a traveling samurai that is focused in the art of armed combat; however they are skilled warriors and can make use of most weapons.

The four of you find a secluded grassy area overlooking a water fall and lake away from the town and begin covering several techniques each of their professions entail.

The Monk attempts to teach you the finer points of using Sutras and Salts to fight off demons, but slurs most of his words through a drunken stupor.

Kaede on the other hand attempts to teach you how to focus your inner spiritual power, and seems rather impressed with how quickly you’re picking things up remarking that there is no doubt you are Kikyos reincarnation. Unfortunately you find it a little boring.

The swordsmen constantly readjusts his black leather armor and spends most of his time shouting at you about technique while grabbing your arms and having you stand on his feet while swinging you around like a ragdoll “because you just don’t GET it.”

You eventually collapse to the ground out of breath and rub your temples. “Stop it! My head hurts...”

The swordsmen scowls while stroking his mustache “HOW CAN YOU BE TIRED! WHEN IT’S ONLY BEEN AN HOUUUUUUUUUUR???!!!”

He goes to pick you up off the ground, but you grab onto his shoulder armor and roll your body to the side, kicking his feel and sending him crashing to the ground.

“Very well... we shall break... for now.” he mutters under his breath, admitting defeat.

"You know lady, if I where you I'd go with me to the market and see if there's any of that bandit garbage left..."

You don’t know much about weapons, but you know for a fact that range is what matters.

You point to the staff with the blade on the end giving a weak smile and look to the swordsman. He gives a silent nod of approval.

“Oh kay, so you want this Naginata... You sure you can handle this thing miss?”

“She has been EXTENSIVELY trained by ME!” your partner replies, tapping his thumb to his chest.

“Ya, that’s exactly what I mean...”

The ronins face reddens as his lower lip trembles, but the clerk simply waves his hand motioning for you to take your purchase. You place 31 Small Coins on the desk and he escorts you to the back of the shop. You leave your weapon with the ronin.

“Now I’m going to be honest Lady... Kagome was it? I’ve never fitted armor for a woman before. Frankly I’m a traditional sort of guy. Buuuuuut... I am bound to serve my customers. Not take off your cloths so I can measure me.”

“WHAT?!”

The former samurai crashes through the door wearing one hell of a scowl. You make a mental note to finally get his name.

“I... it’s fine. He just needs to measure me is all.”

The ronin turns his back, however he does not leave. Blushing you take off your Miko outfit and the shop keeper... starts touching you.

You let out a gasp before remembering that they don’t have a measurement system invented yet or this guy may be illiterate. He makes a series of tick marks using the notebook and pencil you sold him yesterday and before you know it, you’re done, dressed, and out the door.

“Come back before sundown Kagome!” he shouts as you walk off. Your trainer walking my your side still scowling and carrying your weapon.
