Do you think Satsuki and Anaru would wait to have kids? I think they would, at least ten years. Satsuki hasn't really been able to live her life at all so I think she would want travel and find herself before she settled down to have kids. I imagine her and Anaru living off the remains of the Kiryuuin fortune traveling around the world, never staying in one place too long before moving on again. You decide to head back into your new room, the one adjacent to Satsuki's, and check for any updates. Being that you were stuck catching up with Mako, there may be certain tasks that have gone unattended to.

Your new job here is a busy one, but a rewarding one as well. The Elite Five have warmed up to you rather quickly, Uzu and Ira in particular. You're not sure what it is with the Head of the Disciplinary Committee, but he's been very protective of you lately.

You can't help but giggle all the way across the room, coming to rest in front of your fancy computer. You boot it up and sit down, relaxing into the chair.

All you did was respond when addressed by a One-Star. Gamagoori came down out of nowhere and whipped the guy almost into next week! Then he shouted some crap about discipline and daring to address you so disrespectfully. And of course you, being the charitable soul that you are, stuck up for the kid and chastised Gamagoori for being so whip-happy.

The Disciplinary Head proceeded to immediately genuflect and apologize profusely. As if you were Satsuki herself.

And it was hilarious.

Anyway, so here you are. Screen finally comes up and you use the fingerprint identifier on the keyboard's left side.

And then you type in your password, "lemons."

And then you pick up the mic and proceed with the voice verification, calmly speaking "Senketsu," into the device.

And then a window pops up requesting you to draw the best picture of a rabbit that you can. The result is an atrocious display of poor mouse control and lack of creativity that has it looking more like a mentally-impaired gremlin than anything else.

"Access allowed," is what comes through the speakers. Great, you're in!

You swear it gets more tedious every time you do it. Moving to the e-mail shortcut, you see an inquiry about lower level security. You open the message and view the attachments.

You run as fast as your legs will carry you all the way past the lab, past the storage rooms, down to the very end of the hallway. You grind to a halt and look up at the sign, panting.

You throw the doors open and run by countless empty rooms, baffled by the fact that the great chamber is so empty. On a typical week there'd be about four or five students in here, punished for their stupidity or disrespect.

You've never condoned Kiryuuin's methods, but she's starting to grow on you. Even this side of her, this ruthless area held deep within the bowels of the Academy.

Another glowing sign catches your eye as you speed on through.

[SOLITARY CONFINEMENT]

Yeah, that sounds about right. You start running over there and are met with a hi-tech barrier, a field made of finely-chopped Life Fibers.

"Keh! No problem!" You rub your nose a bit, grinning confidently as you withdraw your miniature Scissor Sword and restore it to full length. One slice and the field parts, along with the doors behind it. Beyond this doorway is a massive room with a cage in the middle. You run right into the room and-

And there's clothes on the floor.

The door to the cell itself has been ripped from the hinges, discarded off to the side.

The other half of your Scissor Blade is firmly planted into the floor.

And something is moving around under the sheets on Fate's bed.

Scissor Blade at the ready, you slowly approach the bars and slap it against some of them. The sheets stop moving immediately and Fate's head pops out, hair matted with...sweat?

"Oh, hello. Are you here to fix the door?"

"N...no?"

He looks confused. You look confused.

"Is Harime Nui in here?" You ask, hefting the Scissor up. He blinks.

"Nope."

"No?"

"Not at all."

"What's that, then?" You raise an eyebrow, pointing to the other Scissor. He looks at it too, then looks back at you.

The two of you ultimately decided to leave those crazy lovebirds alone, provided they agreed to stay in the lower levels until told otherwise. So you now find yourselves paired up in the elevator, on your way back up to the lounge for Satsuki's special announcement.

"Is it time?" You mutter, staring out of the glass structure. See-through elevators spook you, but the view is really something else.

"Yes," Satsuki replies, tightening her hold on Bakuzan. "I received the call nearly two hours ago, hence my sudden appearance in the solitary wing."

"You mean the love chamber."

She laughs, and before you know it, you're laughing too. You laugh together until you're out of breath, until all you really think you can manage is a light giggle.

"I miss him," you say out of the blue.

Satsuki blinks, then nods as she follows your line of thought. "I do, too."

"Can't we just kill the fake Anaru? Get it over with, stomp him out? Nobody would know!"

"Impossible. The Life Fibers would make contact with their Primordial creator long before we deal the finishing blow."

"So," you sigh, hands on the back of your head. "We just put him on tomorrow's shit list, then? Take him and Ragyo out at once?"

You and Satsuki take a reflexive step backwards, eyes wide. The fake Anaru lifts his hands up, palms out in a gesture of peace.

"Relax, I'm not going to do anything. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to attack you right here and now, does it?"

Both of you remain silent as he speaks, your hearts both threatening to burst from the intense pressure of the moment.

"Planning to kill me and the Director. Whew, that's...that's quite a goal you've got, there. Just thought I'd wait for you here and say good luck!"

He narrows his eyes, then. And you swear you can see a red glow behind them, belying his true nature as a Life Fiber monster.

"You will need every ounce of luck that you can get. So, by all means, continue. Carry on with whatever it is you're planning, and I'll see you tomorrow. Should be a day to die for..."

He reaches into the elevator and his fingers find Satsuki's cheek. She closes her eyes and shudders, and you swear that's the first time you've ever seen her so fearful.

"You denied me earlier today," he says in a low, sultry tone, "but that'll change soon. Especially since you've decided to throw away EVERYTHING the Director has so graciously given you."

There's an edge in that tone that truly separates him from the real Anaru. It's a deep and monstrous sound, one that shakes you to your core.

Satsuki finally slaps his hand away and he laughs uproariously, stepping aside to let you both through. The two of you hurry into the lounge and he backs into the elevator, grinning widely.

You can't just bury your anger like she does. Not like Satsuki. You turn around and give him the finger, wearing the angriest look on your face.

"Hope you're ready, asshole, because my aniki is going to wipe the floor with you."

The imposter's smile vanishes right as the doors close, denying him a retort.

And damn, that feels good.

I'm sure I'm beating on a dead horse, and this has probably been brought up already, but the key factor in all of this is Nui's relationship with Fate.

By herself Nui would never be redeemable, nor would she seek said redemption. However, that's what potentially happens when you introduce a cruel maniac like Nui to a person with some sense of morality and honor like Fate as a lover.

Either Nui changes Fate, or Fate changes Nui.

I know it sounds sappy and cliche, but love done correctly is an extremely powerful force that can change even the most fucked up of individuals.

That's why Nui's change is so drastic, and imo it's been done rather well here.

Ryuuko has every right to want to stomp Nui's cute little head in for killing her father in cold blood. Keep in mind that Satsuki herself had to apologize to Ryuuko in the anime just for using her as a pawn, she had to swallow her pride and bow down to Ryuuko.

Nui really needs to address Ryuuko 1 on 1 and soon, because even though I want Nui to be redeemed, part of that is properly dealing with Ryuuko's rage.

Satsuki at least knew Nui as a friend from childhood, and also needs Nui's assistance. Ryuuko has no such connection to Nui, nor does she desire her help.

Imo, I think it would be extremely out of character for Ryuuko to just accept Nui as an ally without Nui patching things up first.

Rat-dad couldn't really hold onto much of his money for long, as he needed to drop everything to jump town when his scams went wrong, and rat-dad was busy (with scamming), but "neglectful" wasn't something that could be said about him.

"Irresponsible", on the other hand, is a different story. Rat-dad's constant city-jumping made Fate never form emotional attachments with anyone, and having to abandon everything repeatedly and start fresh meant the nice things he had never lasted.

Fate's childhood was just an empty void filled with brief bursts of fleeting fear, and unfamiliarity. Rat-dad did what he could for Fate, but with a profession like his, you can make the assumption on how that worked out.

And then rat-dad got arrested.
