You're name is Mason Page, and you made a huge fucking mistake. An armed robber took your father hostage, and in a moment of rage or insanity, took a plunge, and used your power to stop him. Killing him, injuring two others, and less than a yard away from Captain Genesis and your own faher, fled the scene. 'It must be all over the news,' you repeatedly told yourself. 'There is no chance of me returning to my life before. I'm all in now.'

When the event first occurred, whether by shock, fear, or otherwise insanity, you felt nothing. No anxiety, no stress, only a single focused goal on escaping. You found your way, almost entirely by chance, into the home of a man you met before, and you now know as Doctor Apocalypse, another would-be super criminal. Or a super criminal, actually. You've killed one, he's killed who knows how many, and stolen an undisclosed amount of goods- for more explosives, you assume. Now that you've entered into his home, and now owe him more than you think you might be capable of, the anxiety hit. As you layed on the floor, a sleeping bag with the scent of burn rubber etched into its rough fabric, you re-played the events over and over in your head.

You had acted with impulse, something you assured yourself you would not do, and before the eyes of the city's most beloved hero. Because of that, you are doomed. Almost positively. You should have, at the very least, made away with the stolen money, you thought. Given yourself a head start. But, in the end, you did not. These thoughts that made you doubt yourself more and more continued throughout the night, until finally, you managed to barely make it to sleep.

> cont.

Loud buzzing and grinding noises, like that of a chainsaw against metal, forces you awake. Your hair scrambled, an unknown smudge of ink on your cheek, you slide out of the uncomfortable sleeping bag you spent the night in. Still surrounded by blueprints and parts, you comb your hair down with your fingertips, and walk out into what might be called the living room. You recognized the piled boxes of gaming consoles and televisions, but notice that the unpacked ones have been moved. Following the loud noises, you stumble into another hall, and open a door at the far end.

The walls, unlike in the rest of this apartment, are lined with some kind of metal, with shelves of small bits of wires and computer chips, and others with various tools. Hung from the walls are various more blueprints, larger in scale. One appears to be a kind of hidden room, that can descend and hide itself underneath a building. Another shows a large machine, which based on some basic knowledge, you can assume is a high-powered rail gun, and the final one appears to be some kind of Power Suit or Mecha, you're not entirely sure which. In the corner, there is a large cardboard box filled with coathangers, paperclips, and other office supplies. Sitting in a chair against a large metal bench, you see your new ally, who appears to be putting together various television parts, coathangers, paperclips, and the like. You are not entirely sure what he is making. What do you do?

Deciding it would be best not to disturb him, you lean against the door frame, and politely wait for him to finish. Sparks fly in the air as his saw cuts through metal, and the familiar aroma of gasoline wafts in the air. It only takes another quarter of an hour before he appears to stop, and swivels around his chair to face you. A metal box of wires and casing is pointed towards you, with a coat hanger forming a simple antenna, with a few knobs beneath it.

"Ah, Blot. It is good to see you awake." He says, placing the box on the floor between you. "I trust you slept well?"

"Yeah, I slept fine," you say back, your focus on the device as he slides it to the center of the room. "What exactly is that?" You say, kneeling down to get a better view.

"Oh, this is a simple kill-bot. For training." He says warmly.

"No, no, we can start." You say, eyeing the metal contraption on the floor. "But don't you think it might be a little dangerous to train with a kill bot?"

"Nonsense," the Doctor responds, grabbing a remote off of his work bench. "The world is full of dangers every day, especially for the likes of us." He presses some various buttons on the remote, and the box rises into the air, a loud whirring coming from inside of it.

It seems mostly stationary, yet the whirring grows louder and louder, until a small hatch opens up on the front. What appears to be gears begin firing out of it's metal mouth at you at an impressive speed, you only barely manage to avoid getting hit by the projectiles.

"Come on now," he says, "Don't go easy on it. What is your power, anyways?"

As more gears fire off in succession, you leap and tumble away, each one only narrowly missing you. You stop for a moment and raise your shield, the ink resting in your pockets rising out and forming a panel before you. The gears clang off of it, each time some ink coming with them. As the gears continue spitting out, you move on the offensive, and fire off needles of ink, piercing into the metal casing of the floating kill bot.

It appears mostly unfazed, as it continues launching its gears. You attempt to raise the shield again, the gears travel too fast, and manage to make contact. As they ram into your torso, you feel nothing more than slightly bruised, and attack again. You fire more ink projectiles in retaliation, until the machine thunks to the floor, smoke rising out of it's open hatch.

"That wasn't too hard," you say to him, returning your ink to their respective containers. Doctor Apocalypse steps over to the machine, and picks up it's smoking hull, placing it back on the workbench.

"It seems like it needs some calibration, those gears were supposed to have much more force," he mumbles to himself, sitting back down, and taking about the machine. Leaning back against the door frame, it seems like this might take a while before his kill bot is repaired. What do you decide to do?

> Go Watch the News

Deciding it would be best to leave the Doctor alone to repair his drone, you step off into the other room, hoping to find some way to watch the News. You enter multiple rooms in this building trying to find a computer or television that isn't boxed and recently stolen, until you come to a room you can only assume to be the kitchen. Cluttered with boxes of various junk, there are two freezers, a swivel chair, and a Plasma Screen attached to the wall, with some excess wires sticking out of its side. You find the remote on the floor, and turn on the TV. You flip through some channels, before finally arriving at the news.

It appears to be going over the most recent fight of Captain Genesis, how he stopped some armed robbers. Your chest tightens up, as you are sure it will mention you. After sitting and watching for a while, they finally describe the situation.

"Armed men stole a few hundred thousand dollars from the New York Capital Bank, and Captain Genesis was not going to let them get away with it. He stopped the van in a local park, subdued the robbers, and they were promptly sent to the police, all of the money returned. In yesterdays interview, Captain Genesis claimed that he would be putting more attention to crime on the streets, so criminals, beware."

You feel stunned with what you just heard. They didn't mention the event, you aren't even sure if they know about it... Your head swirls, unable to concentrate.

"Are you ready for round two?" Doctor Apocalypse shouts from his chambers down the hall.

You head back into the room to see the Doctor in the corner, remote in his hand, pressing buttons. The drone is risen in the air, moving about lazily. The whirring sound comes back once more, with the hatch at its front opening. You raise the ink out of their containers, and form a shield.

So, here's what we can do. Since what you're doing is basically training consistently until you decide to stop, how long do you want to timeskip, if at all? We can go ahead and skip a couple of weeks, or months, or we can run out the entirety of the training. Depending on how long has passed, we can discuss what projects you and Doctor Apocalypse work on, do some rolls, discuss some moves you have planned, and end the timeskip when you and the Doctor actually have a plan, like a specific crime of some kind.

Doomsday is a fake, but he's a well armed fake. The robotics manufacturer probably has some robotic guards. The back is the best choice. We control ink, the while building is a weapon. Every own, every document, every bill.

Hell, we can even spend the cash as soon as we get it, since we can just change the serial numbers.
>>
It seems the consensus is the Inked Armor, and the majority Robotics Manufacturer?
>>
Project:

Doctor Apocalypse had drawn up some rough sketches, but you really refined the idea. You don't want to reveal your true nature just yet, and so you formed a new, currently nameless, persona. This full body suit is made of thick leather, stolen from various sources over the past few months, and soaked in a full tub of ink. You even used your power to compress some more ink into it, making it effortlessly controllable by you. With some training, you were able to kill the kill-bots in seconds with this armor, without once showing the use of ink. It straps all around your body, with the plus of masking your face.

Plan:

Evolution Robotics, a mass-producer of security drones, turrets, and other forms of personal defense robots. It is primarily sold to rich home-owners who want to protect their homes from standard criminals, or as Doctor Apocalypse refers to them, Sub-criminals. They have a manufacturing plant on the deep south end of town, relatively far from any residences. The Doctor seems to have a grudge against this company, without any immediately discernible reason why. He was the one who jumped to this plan initially.

The place is relatively large, but is only run during the daylight hours. For a robotics manufacturer, they still use a shit ton of manual labor. The layout is pretty straightforward, with the actual assembly lines on the ground floor, distribution in the back, and the offices and such on the second level.

You and the Doctor have talked over the plan quite a bit. What approach did you have?

>[] Subtle: Take out the cameras remotely, get inside, get what you can fit in the getaway van, get out.

> Long Term, with a Subtle Edge

The plan is not quite simple. You have decided it would be best to alter some of the documents, rather than stealing the parts themselves. You, with the ability to manipulate Ink, and the Doctor, who seems to be quite good with computers, should have it covered. By changing some numbers and addresses, with the help of some of the Doctors Alias', you should be able to divert some funds and shipments to you, and have a point from which you could gradually change more information within the company itself. This would truly make your Great Grandfather proud.

You plan to do it at the very beginning of the month, where the paper-work is the freshest, and with the least scrutiny. The first of this new month is the plan. Late at night, just past 1 am, you and the Doctor will break in to the building, and get to the upper floors. He can take out the security cameras remotely with a device he made just for this job, and you should be able to get the two of you up there and inside without being detected.

From there, it's finding all of the offices, and reviewing the data. The Doctor, once again, has a device for this occasion. He can compile all the relevant data from the network, change the information, and place it back just as is. Anywhere with a paper gap in the information, you fill in. Their security system, he warned, is pretty top notch, so you have to be on your best game. That's what all this training is for, right?

>cont
>>
Finally, the night comes. You and the Doctor park his ratty van a few blocks down, outside of a laundry mat, and disabled the security cameras there. As you approached, the streets completely empty, you could see the large sign, "Evolution Robotics," searing light down at the parking lot beneath. No cars were in sight, with the security drones having just passed their rounds, you set yourselves down behind a bush outside the building.

He pulls out the large device out of his satchel, looking like the combination of a Ham Radio and a Microwave. He turns the knob a bit, until the sound of Static is at it's height, and flicked a few switches. The Static fades. You turn to each other.

How do you get the two of your in there?

> Try and get to the Roof

The plan is to get up to the roof, and try to find a window either up there, or on the second floor. Possibly a door or hatch is up there that you can get open. You have barely practiced beyond mild levitation, as it was mostly indoors, but flying shouldn't be too much more difficult, even with the Doctor in your grasp.

The next round of security drones pass by, and you rush up to the wall. Grabbing onto him, you concentrate your energy, and attempt to raise yourself, and the Doctor, up to the roof.

Almost effortlessly, you raise the two of you up, and gently place yourselves on the roof. That was much easier than you expected, it barely required focus at all. "Nice job," he says, escaping from your grasp, as he begins to pace across the stone building. The two of you search for the easiest way to get in, and you both decide it is probably the skylight window in the main office. It locks from the inside, but there are pens on the desk that is beneath it and against the wall, so you decide to take your hand at that.

A small strand of ink oozes out of the pen, floating up towards the window. You form a pick of sorts with it, and begin shifting it about, until you hear a faint click from beneath you. The window slides down, leaving enough room for the two of you to float in, and the ink returns to it's original spot.

You grab the Doctor, and slowly float onto the soft carpeting, and you place him on his feet. This office is not quite as high tech as you would imagine the office of a Robotics Manufacturer to be. It has simple, plain white walls, with a brown desk on the far wall. Beside it, a bookshelf, and on the other wall a table and some filing cabinets. A sleek, all black computer sits beneath the desk, the adjustable monitor faintly glowing. It seems to still be on.

The door, shut and lock, has a window that you can peer through. A quick glance reveals no security drones in the immediate vicinity, and you take this as a sign that everything is clear. You note the location of the security cameras, but the Doctor assured you they would be out, so you don't pay much mind to them.

You flip through the cabinets, and pull out any particular document you think may be of use, noting it's place. The doctor quietly tells you where the paper trail needs to change, and you follow through to do so. The changes, though subtle, gives you quite a lot of control over where shipments and payments are going. Things are going so smoothly, you consider possibly changing the plan as it stands.

You quickly fix up the paper work, as the Doctor ordered, and continue manipulating each document of importance. By the time you are done, a half hour or so, you have left a completely untraceable trail to you and the Doctor, with a small steady income, and some occasional robotic parts sent through a series of alias' back to you. You have also set it up with some phone numbers, emails, and address', as well as some small 'corrections' in otherwise seemingly irrelevant paperwork, to go ahead and give yourselves 'raises' or 'bonuses' whenever you would like. You feel quite proud of yourself, creating this intricate system of false information.

The Doctor also has good news on his front. Along with the free funds and tools, he seemed to come across some important information, access codes and the such. "With this data I have copied," he whispers, taking out the usb, "I can take command of every turret, drone, and camera here." You smirk, and give a silent applaud. "Shall we?" You say, gesturing to the ceiling. With no trace left behind, you bring yourself to the roof, close the skylight, and take your leave. Nothing left behind.

Back at the apartment, you can barely contain your excitement. After months of training and preparation, your plan went off without a hitch. In fact, it went better than you could have expected. The apartment, everything cleaned, separated, and organized, is now your home. With these consistent funds and supplies, you could stay here, content, for as long as you like!

But you are not one to be so easily content. Neither is Doctor Apocalypse. Now that your first act went so well, it's time to start planning the second. Cracking open a soda, the Doctor sits across the table in the dining room. Both your outfits off, you lean back, relaxed, staring back at each other.

"I think we should bring in others." He says, spontaneously. For a second, you are taken aback. You always saw the Doctor as a solitary type, and you as well. The fact that you have paired together is already a bit of a stretch, it seems to you. But, he may be right. With the right amount of well armed, well trained, powered individuals, you might be able to do what no other has- take out Captain Genesis, and take over the city.

If we get too many people, they might try to take us over; thinking our small operation is indicative of our skill or strength.

And we should get enough experience first before we start recruiting and training others.

> We should stay small for now

"Well, here's the thing," you respond, taking a moment to collect your thoughts. "We haven't done much, we should stay small, just the two of us, for now." He nods at you, but his expression tells you that he isn't entirely sure. "Let me put it like this," you continue, "We need a reputation, we need to have accomplished a lot, and to have people looking to join us. If we go out looking for people, we look weak."

He nods back at you, considering thoughtfully. "But," you speak up once more, "If you know someone in specific, or we meet someone especially exceptional, we can talk more about it."

"Alright, that all seems fair," he responds. "So, we have money, we have tools. What do we focus on now?"

Seems like there is a consensus. Writing now.
>>
>>32637681
We now have a steady income. Now comes the classical 'Get a huge chunk of valuable stuff' plan. We still need to find out how exotic inks can be to still work for us, so anything in that direction will be nice. That seems more like a side-quest though. If he has anything he wants, we could try to take that on.

I still want to use the ink-cloud. Flying through a window with black fog swirling around us would both look awesome and be useful. Especially, once we upgrade our senses enough to let us 'see' with the ink.
>>
> A lair or hideout, somewhere bigger

"We need somewhere bigger," you say, assured of the necessity. "The apartment is nice, but it doesn't really work well for a hideout. It's in the open, and we are keeping valuable secrets and plans here. We need something... bigger. Out of sight. Under a lake, maybe."

He smirks, and turns his chair side to side a little bit. "We have money, we have robotics equipment, and we have time. I'm sure we could figure something out." He stands, and proceeds to pace.

"Are you sure about a lake? What about deep beneath an abandoned factory, I always loved that scene. But we need to decide."

Time to decide on a lair.

Looks like Factory, writing now
>>
> Deep beneath a Factory

"Factory is a much better idea, did you have one in mind?" Smiling, he goes to his room, and comes out a moment later, with some large maps of the city. He points to a red circle down in the corner of the map, next to the coast, but also adjacent to a park and an airport. "I think this place would be perfect. It hasn't been used in decades, but we could easily excavate and build out lair beneath it. If we saved the money, we could buy the land under an alias."

"I think that looks good," you respond.

"Great. We should start discussing plans, and work on some blueprints. When we have the land and parts, I'll build some worker drones."

How large do you want the lair?

>[] Small: About twice the size of the apartment
>[] Medium: The size of one of the factory floors
>[] Large: 1.5x the size of the factory floor, with a higher ceiling.

>>

Large

>Large

When working on the blueprints, you ensure to make this place as big as possible, without collapsing the buildings over it, or intersecting with any pipes or the like. It comes to a massive size, one that could hold multiple airplanes if it had to. Using some previous blueprints of the Doctors, you've found a good way to make it hidden and inaccessible to all but you two, using a hidden elevator system, and a hidden room in which the elevator is located.

It will take some time before you can even start work on the lair, and the work itself may take quite a lot of time. What would you like to do while you save for the supplies for the project?

Deciding it's best to train while you wait for the next step, you spend most all of your time inside, practicing with all your techniques, and attempting to master what skills you already have. When the hideout is complete, you and the Doctor will spend quite a lot of time their, instead, and you need to be ready for your next plot to unfurl.

Based off the hardening for the shield, would it be possible to create a saw blade like projectile?
>>

>>

Force 1
Precision 3
Utility 2

And each skill also has a value.

>>32638967
With enough Force and Precision, sure.
>>
>>32639051
I don't see what your problem is with having a little extra power, and a weapon they can't remove. Plus everyone wanted a disguise since we were publicly outed, tattoos work pretty well. Is there a downside? Why don't you want them? All I'm seeing are benefits.

Alright, so I'm going to end it here today, and I'll pick back up when the base is finished. I will run next week, same day, same time. Thanks everyone for participating today, and I hope you all enjoyed it. I'm going to archive this, etcetera. I'll stick around for a bit if anyone has anymore questions.
>>
>>32639084
How is a tattoo a good disguise? Do you know how much "has a tattoo" narrows down a search?

The downside is that there's really no point, and it poses the risk of hurting us, rather than helping us--if the first time we use it, it powders our bones, it didn't help us much.
>>
>>32639151
So we'll hold off on using them until our control is good enough to not kill ourselves. As for no point, I think you underestimate the advantages of being above baseline human level and flight. You said here >>32639051
that they'd figure out we could use our tattoos as weapons, so what? Not like they can remove them. Even if they put us in a stronger holding cell we'd at least have something to work with.

As for identity, right now they know who we are. They know our face. Tattoo's let us go back to anonymity. As long as we wear a mask during crimes like a good boy, we'll be able to go out with an inked up face no problem.
>>
>>32639143

It's annoying that you keep stopping when we're barely near the auto-sage limit.
