You sigh in relief, it looks like the red thread was the only thing it was after. But what was 'it'? You didn't get a good look at it, something you can probably chalk up to your terrible field of vision. Even so, it moved too quickly for your one eye to properly register... You have one more belonging you can look at, or you can investigate the house.

You exhale, there's one thing you haven't checked yet. You slide the backpack off, you can't remove it for too long... But five minutes or so to investigate is nothing.

You un-clip the top and open it up, most of your books are in a locker at school so it's already mostly empty. This thing is an enigma. You know its got a life support system in the one area you can't open... But it's also where you found Boss's One-Star completely unraveled. Minus red string.

You couldn't admit to it then because lack of evidence. Part of you doesn't want to admit it now.

Your backpack did something on its own.

You rummage through it and that's when you notice 'it'. A strange shape has appeared on the side of the left wall, another sealed compartment like the one containing your life support system. Its shape is really different, however, instead of a rectangle, it appears to be two tubes connected at a single point.

Another similar compartment seems to be forming on the other side opposite to it.

...It's growing?

Guts nods, pulls his hood on a bit more as he proceeds out the back door. You look at your backpack, motionless on the dark room floor. The stress and tiredness of the day seep into you after your shock.

You look to the wall, where you see jars of... Something? You can't quite see.

You go to look back to the man, but you can't see what he's he's talking about. The room fades.

The scratching increases.

A rasping voice calls out to you, from all around.

You try to keep cool, but every failed attempt to get the rope to Boss means the time ticks ever close to ending. You can't take the sensations any more and focus on flexing limbs that aren't there.

Your backpack begins shuddering.

An arm rips from the left side extending farther than your own. "What the!?" It responds to your movement and snaps the rope even harder. Boss almost doesn't have time grab the rope and it passes him.

You get a closer look at it. It's mechanical, with the same black and blue color of your backpack, several circular joints are dotted up it and it ends in a strange grasping device. You can't tell how it's moving, but red string in a pully system seems to be part of it. Calling it a 'limb' would be more accurate than an 'arm'. And it responds to moving your imagined limbs.

Time to ponder can come later, there's still people in the air. "Boss! I need to make use of your strength!"

"Oi, Oi, I hear ya!"

You're shocked at the speed the new limb moves, your two other arms have to work double time and they are still falling behind making more rope from everything available.

"So what are we doing anyway!?"

You use your new limb to lob yourself to the backside of the wall, away from the main torrent of wind. In the same motion you pluck a girl out of the air and throw her into your old spot to keep integrity.

You spin your wheels as need be, using the force to change you facing in midair. As you swing along, you do your best to tie, wrap, or otherwise connect people. Your new limb is deft, but has no sewing equipment.

Another large shockwave rattles the wall, it holds, but you break free. Catching the draft you fly backwards and begin to tumble over the edge of Honnouji's wall.

That's when barbed whips lash out, and grab you. "Ouch, ouch, ouch!" They are somewhat crushing you, and are really digging in, but it beats flying over the edge. "I, GAMAGOORI IRA applaud your efforts, Courtmanche, regardless of your motives and background."

"Th-Thanks you. Pardon, r-require, air"

"Of course!" Gama launches you back toward the mass of bodies, just in time for Uzu to snag you before impact. "Not bad, kid, looks like you're either a genius or crazy."

You both look over to see Nonon scrambling up muttering something about, 'the sky being hers!' before hiding her annoyance. And by scrambling up, I mean being carried on the shoulder of two One-Stars. Inumata is on the ground, seemingly ignoring everything, but then you realize he's coordinating with the others, guiding them to weak points.

Everyone begins to tumble downwards, those tied together fair a bit better as they glide somewhat, but no one is falling with style. Aside from the Devas. Gamagoori is in freefall, laughing like a madman. Uzu is jumping from person to person with a "Tou! Tou! Tou!". Nonon is floating to the ground, a large pink umbrella acting as a parachute. Inumuta is frantically sidestepping to clear the 'landing' zone.

It's a veritable waterfall of shouts and bodies and you're in it. Still, perhaps you can at least take solace in the fact that the landings probably weren't as bad as they would have been.

Satsuki just laughs, "As I said before, how interesting!"
