The world rightfully belongs to you, you just have to claim it.

Theme: Evil MC with superpowers conquering the world.

You have chosen on the town to the east as your first conquest. You have a small tribe of 100 horsemen at your command, but they are hungry and poorly armed. Between you and your victory stand 400 men-at-arms including 50 cannoneers and 50 heavy Cavalry. Because your pale skin matches the color of the majority of the town you have decided to sneak in and sabotage the town from the inside. When the tribe sees the smoke from you igniting the gunpowder storage your tribe will attack.

Quest will start in 40 minutes.

You approach the town on your horse from across the plains. You are wearing the leather clothing and protective grass cape of the tribe, but they are torn and covered in animal blood. The sun is setting behind you as you hear shouts from the first watchtower. The soldiers on watch have noticed you and sounded the alarm. Shortly after you see a small band of horsemen leave the town and gallop toward you. As they approach you slowly slide off of your horse, landing on your back with a convincing thud. Your horse flees as the soldier dismount and approach you. They are cautious at first but when one of them sees your pale skin they abandon their caution and quickly approach you.

"Who is he?" "Why is he wearing those clothes?" "Is he wounded?" "Look at all of that blood..." "STOP. Quick men, carry him back to the surgeon, he might know something about the savages".

You feign delirium as they quickly carry you back to the town.

You are taken to what seems to be some variety of prison cell in the basement of small building. They strip you and lay you down on a wooden table. An older man comes to examine you, checking for broken bones or wounds.

"He appears healthy.” The old man says, “No broken bones...the blood looks like it's someone else's. Quickly, bring water and food. It looks like he was attacked."

He moves his head close and speaks directly to you. "Can you hear me boy? We are bringing you food. The captain will be here soon, and will want to know what happened. You seem alright so wait here until he gets here”. He leaves and closes the barred door behind you.

As you focus you notice an incredibly bright source of essence somewhere in the town. It is difficult to see the faint dots of essence in the other humans compared to the intensity of the light. it's unlike anything you have seen before, and seems to have “color” compared to the other thousands of specks all around you. It does not appear to be moving.

Wandering peddler trading in the region (to explain any items on our person that would be out of place). We were attacked by savages, but managed to evade them while they ransacked our cart. We were chased into a thicket, but were able to overpower our assailant and steal his horse (horse ran, not our horse) after suffering a glancing blow to the head. We saw buildings in the far distance and ended up here.

You decide to wait. While leaving this cell would be easy it may cost you information or good will. It would be pointless to sneak in only to immediately become a fugitive. You sit up on the table as a young kid brings you food. These people have much lighter skin and a different facial structure that the people of the tribe. Cold potatoes and a tin cup of very weak alcohol are all that they served you. It is filling but the meat from the tribe was better tasting.

A short while later a man, obviously the “captain” based on his mirror like breastplate and expensive clothing, shows up outside your door. You stand up from the table, and look at him, but he ignores you and commands one of the two guards outside your cell to bring him a chair. He sits in it, strokes his beard and then looks at you as if you weren't here until just now.

“I bet you have a story to tell. Let’s hear it” he says plainly, maintaining eye contact as if he doesn't mean to ever look away.

“I was traveling. I was taking some choice goods with me when they attacked. I didn't see them approach me and they were on me before I could flee.” You say, giving your best effort to sound tired and relieved. “They had clubs and I think they meant to capture me. I was able to get away through the forest but I had to leave the cart. They followed me on foot into the forest and didn't expect me to fight back. I had my sword and I killed two of them, but the third one got away. I don’t think he got far though. I had to take their clothes and horse because mine were shredded or dead.”

The captain looks at you with squinted eyes. “Well you are lucky to be alive. Usually they just kill you with before eating you.”

He asks several more minor questions about things such as their appearance and equipment but it seems that he believes you. He sighs, stretches, and then stands up.

“Well fellow, you seem to be one luck whoreson. You are the first in a month to survive an attack from those dirty animals. You've lost your cart, how do you intend to support yourself here? I doubt you will want to leave soon.” He finishes the last sentence with a slight edge in his voice. It seemed more of a command than an observation.

“I have some skills” you reply. “I could find work. If all else fails I could do labor. My father was strong and I follow after him well.”

“Well, from the kings mercy I’ll get you some clothes and come coin to start you off.” He says plainly. Be shouts some orders to the guards and the with a “fare well stranger” he quickly leaves.

You think you convinced the captain of your story, and now have a set of good but worn clothing and several small copper coins. That burning colored sphere of essence is still on your mind.

You decide to get the humans to do your reconnaissance for you. After all, you just got here and "almost died", so going anywhere but a Inn or tavern would draw attention. You aren't 100% sure the captain believed you, so for now you will play it safe. You seem unable to find a brothel, which is incredibly strange as you recall them being common in towns. You decide to head in to a nearby tavern and order a drink. The alcohol you are served is hardly stronger than what you had in the cell. Even as you sit in the corner your ears can hear every conversation in the room.

"Oh come off of it, Capt’n Isaac has this town well under control. He's got half a thousand hardened men under his arm and he won't let no pissin savages near us."

"With him around I'm more worried about his men than the savages. They call him the butcher of Avarin for a reason you know."

"Everyone knows, that's why he is in this pisspot instead of leading the king's armies. After you let something like that happen you never going to lead again. Hees still the best general on this side of the kandish."

"Count Biot won't let the captain touch us. He was placed here by the king himself ya'know."

"That’s cuz’ the king wanted to get rid of him too. Count's a crook, and a good one at that, tis why all of the whores pay him the 'entertainment tax', last pimp who tried to start up was hung within a week.”

"johnny was hung because bishop Kenneth has every ass in this town praying for their immortal soul. He’s always saying the end of days is coming, been honking that horn for ten years…”

My thoughts on the information we gained.

>The guard just received a new shipment of gunpowder. They are storing it in the "veterans armory".

Good way to take out the experienced fighting men of the city if we can light it off when most of them are sleeping.

>The Local Holy man is seen as radical by the traditional church.

We can play the God/religion angle either before the attack, or after to ensure compliance and a steady supply of tribute.

>The regular soldiers and guards are upset that the veterans get better housing and meals than them.

With the resentment, if we kill the veteran forces it may leave the regulars more ready to surrender. The opposite is not likely to be true.

>The captain is responsible for the deaths of many civilians during an riot.

Part One - no one is likely to come to his aid because he's a bastard. Part Two - If we kill him, that makes us the *Bigger* bastard, which is good for fear. Part Three - If we turn him, we have an apparently capable leader who doesn't suffer from normal moral qualms.

>The mayor is a thief.

No love lost for the mayor among the people, but they see him as protecting them from the Captain. Maybe kill him and install the captain as Military governor?

>The demand for prostitutes greatly outweighs the supply.

The women in town are generally unspoiled. This will yield more interesting reactions when we claim them.

We could offer the Captain governorship, and give his men pillaging rights to the town after we take our cut.

>The demand for prostitutes greatly outweighs the supply.

You sit up leave the tavern. Whatever is coming is best faced in the open. The sun has set two hours ago and it is almost completely dark outside. The only light is from the windows of the tavern. The source of the colored essence is blocked by a line of buildings. As it approaches you first see several other small dots of light moving with it. They pale and white like the essence of all the other humans around you, but whatever this unique essence belongs to has friends.

Your first sight of the group is when they step out into the intersection of two worn paths. The group stops for a moment, as if waiting for something, then turns and heads toward you. There are five in total, marching in a “box” pattern with one standing in the center. They obviously have had rigorous military training.

They are fully armored in what appears to be a foreign variety of full plate. Almost their entire bodies are covered in the pale green ornate armor. The armor seems to be highly articulated and incredibly expensive to create. The two in front are carrying long swords with one hand on the handle and the other gripping halfway up the blade. The two in back are carrying a strange short polearm that appears to be a similar to a heavy axe with a long sharp point on the end of the handle.

The one in the center is unique, and obviously the commander of the small group. His armor seems larger and thicker than the others, and he seems to move strangely in it. His center of mass sways much more as he jogs toward, and there appear to be strange additions to his armor along his arms and legs. You are not sure what this means. He is the source of that brightly burning essence.

>His center of mass sways much more as he jogs toward

Potential boob alert brothers.
>>
>>32865330
As they come closer they begin to slow. You are the only one in the street besides them and you think that they are close enough to make you out with their vision. They a short distance from you, and the man in the center raises a sort of "hatch" in his lumbering armor revealing his face.

"He" is actually a "She", and she closes her eyes for a moment before opening them, pointing to you with one of her arms as she shouts "There it is. Kill it. Throw lights, don't grapple. Aim for the neck and heart."

The four "normal" soldiers grab small sticks from their belts and light them, small showers of sparks appearing at the ends. The toss them forward and the street is filled with an unusual flickering light. They appear to be torches of some sort.

The group charges, with the woman in the massive armor slightly behind the four others.

They come toward you in the night with their weapons raised. There was never even a token attempt at diplomacy or threats. They didn't ask for surrender or information, they simply want you dead.

The ones with the swords attack reach you first. They strike in unison with simple, efficient thrusts with their swords. You remember this technique, but know not from where. Their attacks are slow compared to your speed. you easily dodge and maneuver around their attempts to slay you. The armor they wear is of good quality and design; there are no obvious weaknesses.

After you easily avoid the swordsmen's attacks they spin away from you just in time for the other two charging knights to reach you. Their axe-with-spear-handle like weapons are heavy and slower than the longswords, and you avoid them with greater ease than before. These men are obviously highly trained in group fighting tactics.

As the two polearm knights roll away from you the swordsmen attack again. They are fighting very defensively even though you are unarmed. They seem to be trying to tire you out while staying fresh themselves.

You are almost entertained watching them take turns trying to kill you, but thier simple and efficent movements quicly bore you. As one of the polearm knights spin off for the second time throw heat into his helmet. Steam starts to rise from it and he yells as he drops his polearm and quickly throws off his helmet. The armor seems to be resistant to the heat, and your attempt to cool the joints of the other knight are completely un-successful. You have other tricks up you sleeve though, but you worry that the armored woman might as well.

Rolls: 24, 80 => 80

You grow tired of the knights feeble attempts to wound you, and while they seem content to battle until the end of the world you have other plans.

You bring your hands together in front of your chest and feel the current flow between them. As a swordman and strange-axeman wheel away you thrust your hands out in front of you. There is a loud crack and a flash as the blue lines strike the knights. They don't even scream as they fall, they were dead before their eyes even saw the light from your attack.

You grin as you stand up straight. Their armor offers no protection from your lightning, and the two remaining knights hesitate to come forward and replace the smoking carcasses of their comrades. The woman glares at you and lifts her left arm to point at you.

The two remaining soldiers stand off to your left. They can't see you and the dust is the last thing they will ever see as you strike them down. Their bodies smolder in their armor.

All that remains is the woman in the armor. Her face is now covered in a faceplate and her stance has changed. She reaches behind her with her right hand and grabs the hilt of an stupidly large sword that was strapped to her back. It must weigh as much as a normal full suit of armor.

Grab a longsword and charge at her: 4 votes
Rolls: 59, 76=> 76=> Great Success

You grab one of the pale green longswords. It is surprisingly light in your hands. You rise up and run at her with the sword in front of you. You are much much faster than her, taking 4 strides for every 1 she takes. She plats her feet and begins to swing her huge cleaver-like blade horizontally at you but you get to her first. Your blade slips through the gap above her shoulder and you flip over her, twisting and thrusting with the blade as you fly over her swing. You hear a strange sound as you feel the blade catch and rend on whatever was in that part of her armor. As you land your blade finally breaks, leaving it's top half jammed inside her armor. You hear a grinding noise as the weight of her sword forces her shoulder to rotate, and her right arm jerks in strange ways as the blade comes to rest in the dirt.

She quickly turns to her left to and attempts to aim at you with the tubes attached to her forearm.

Attack her legs Disable her movement: 4 votes
Rolls: 50, 75, 2 => 75 => Success

As she swings her left arm around to aim it at you you quickly duck under it and shove the remaining half of your sword. between her armor and the strange mechanisms attached to the outside of her leg. You spin and pull, and the sound of cracking metal rewards you. Already slightly off balance, she falls toward her left side. Her attempt to catch her fall with her left arm only traps it beneath her. As you stand before her you realize that she can't get up. Whatever you did to the shoulder of her armor seems to be affecting the whole of it.

The sparking lights the knights threw around as they first charged you are dimmer now, but they still cast enough light to plainly show the people watching from the windows. You see heads lean in from around corners and behind shutters.

>The noise this battle made as attracted attention, and the guard are probably on thier way. You have a audience if you with to use it. To a observer you just defeated 5 incredibly skilled and armed soldiers while wearing no armor and carrying no weapon yourself.

You walk over to the other long sword laying in the dirt and grab it. You turn and slowly walk back to the inert armor laying on the ground. You know she can see you through her helmet. As you reach her you turn to the crowd.

“These fools attempted to kill me, unannounced, in the night.” You yell. The night is almost silent besides your voice. “Five of them came after me, with weapons and tools of war, and I destroyed them with nothing but my own power. I am a herald of things to come. My power is godlike and no mortal can oppose it, no matter how many weapons of death they aim at me.”

You pry the front of the woman’s helmet off of her with the tip of the sword as you finish your speech. She is alive, breathing slowly through her mouth, her green eyes defiantly staring you down. She is afraid, but not as much as she should be. You lean closer to her and whisper to her.

“You have failed. I have defeated you and now, soon, you will suffer for your failure.”

Her open slightly at your words, and she slightly shakes her head side to side. “…fool…you c….cant…”

She stops speaking as you hear horsemen approach. You use the sword to pry off the tubes on her left arm, just for good measure.

You see the captain from earlier leading over twenty men in heavy armor, all on horses. They quickly gallop up to you and encircle where the fight took place. None of them say anything, none of them move.

Finally, the captain dismounts and approaches you as you stand with your foot on the armor in front of you.

"Attacked by savages were you? Well we found those corpses. You certainly didn't use a sword to kill them did you?" He sneers as he looks at the smoldering remains of the woman's allies. Then he looks back at you. "What the fuck are you son, and what do you want here?"

You look at him, a slight smile on your face. "I am quite simply a young god."

He doesn't react to your words, and you continue. "I have the power to make my will into reality, and I have come to make my kingdom on the world." You stop and wait for him to speak. You have said more than enough to give him his choice between your enemy or your ally.

He simply stares at you for several seconds. You see several emotions cross over his face. "we need to talk..." he says but is interrupted by commotion behind you.

An old crackign voice yells as loud as it is able to. "Make way. MAKE WAY. The Lords command you to STEP ASIDE. I must WITNESS THIS MYSELF." he yells.

An old man, with messy white hair and disheveled red robes pushes between two of the horses into the circle. He stops, also glances at the corpses at on the ground before turning to you.

"Are you sent from the lords? ARE YOU A HEARELD OF THE END TIMeess?!" he yells so loudly that his voice fails at the end. The old man is barely able to stand on his feet, his eyes are bloody and red, and he points at you with a shaking finger. You assume this is bishop Kenneth, the religious leader of this town. Several younger men, wearing similar clothing burst from the gap he made and rush to assist him. They pay no attention to their surroundings while the steady him and hold him up. The old man shakes before his eyes close and he slumps into the grasp of his helpers. You can hear noises from the town rising around you.

"we need to move off of the streets" the captain says, not waiting for your reply as he mounts his horse and begins shouting orders to his soldiers.

"First lance go to the market and enforce a curfew. Second lance follow me, Third Lance, go down the winding road and keep people in their homes..." as he keeps shouting orders two knights dismount and begin to approach the armor with the woman in it. They quickly stop once they remember the situation and wait for you to move.

\Even with your strength, the hulking armor is too heavy for you to drag through the dirt. You leave it for the soldiers as you follow the captain on foot. At first he seems worried that you will be unable to keep up, but you are probably faster than any other man alive and keep up easily. As you make your way through town the captain efficiently gives orders and receives information from mounted messengers. He dispatches reinforcements, and recalls forces to areas with greater need seemingly without effort. You smile as you realize that this man will make a good general.

You eventually reach what appears to be an office building the captain dismounts his horse and quickly enters the front door. You follow him into what appears to be a hive or military and strategic planning and operations. Men and women move around shoulder to shoulder carrying notes and exchanging information as the guard is mobilized to stop the riot.

He leads you ups some stairs to what you assume is his office. He speaks to you for the first time since the circle of knights in the street. “I am sorry, but I must tend to this operation I have three hundred soldiers to control a city of three thousand.”

You let him tend to his soldiers, and he quickly leaves and starts yelling as soon as he crosses the threshold of the room. Now the waiting game begins. If the captain is unable to maintain order in the town you will have gained little from this, but you can ensure that your tribe gets their food and supplies even if the tow is razed.

Almost a half hour later you hear several people coming up the stairs. Soon after Bishop Kenneth enters the room with six acolytes in tow. The bishop is much more presentable this time, with a clean robe and an ornate hat covering his head. You notice the acolytes are carrying gold daggers clutched in both hands in front of them, but you sense no hostility from them. You know that the captain forbade anyone from disturbing you while he was gone. This Bishop must have considerable pull to have gotten her with six followers.

>looks like it's divided. I'll talk more about this when the thread is over. No one said "we are a demon" so you won't really loose Kenneth's support.

At the end of your conversation the bishop stands. "children, our path through life has changed. The gods have devised a new world and we are to help him make it so. Go and calm the crowds. we must not loose any needless life in this chaos". The followers, who had long since put the daggers away, wordlessly follow him out.

With the help of the Bishop you will be able to restore order to this town. You have 400 trained soldiers, 100 irregular tribal warriors, around 3000 people and a small town. It is a small start to your conquest, but your dominion will grow. You have several matters to attend to. The woman wearing the armor was captured and is being held in the curch dungeons. The tribe is in need of supplies and equipment, but integrating them with the town will cause problems. You have many decisions to make on how you will re-make this world to your liking.

>Ok, calling the end of the quest here. The wife is home and my creative energies are fully depleted. I will stick around to talk about the quest or answer questions. Polygyny is legal obviously, as is slavery. I'm thinking things will be pretty fucked up really. Not on the level of a bad rape comic, but not an egalitarian society by any means.
>>
>>32869527
A good mix never hurt anyone. I'd kind of like to go the Ghengis Khan route. Offer each city the chance to surrender once. If they accept, we take their fighting men for our armies and the best of their women for our harems. If they refuse, it's straight up scorched earth and slavery.

What about a class based society? cities/nations that convert willingly get to be a higher cast.

>>32869687
I was also thinking about going with the "shit be fucked up, but not retarded" rout. A couple of ideas:
>not paying back debt gets your children sold into slavery.
>higher casts can do whatever they want to lower casts with no legal consequences at all.
>random executions whenever dissenters or rebels are found somewhere.
>>
>>32869713
I see nothing wrong with the war lord route. stomp everyone with our ever growing army, supplies shared between everyone, andone who says otherwise has to speak to us to us and it will be very short and onne sided. we god of conquest now
>>
>>32869786
That would work. Maybe the cities that don't submit have a population-wide decimation done. One out of every ten citizens at random are made slaves directly, while the rest get stuck in a low caste ruled over by appointed overseers.
>>
>>32869786
>>32869833
Let's drop the at random stuff. People really hate that, and we don't want rebellions. We can impose ridiculous rules that seem a lot more fair, and get us just as many executions/slaves without inciting rebellion.
>>
Also: keep in mind, the biology and technology powers can greatly change how you rule. Tech 4 doesn't need human armies. Bio 3 can have self healing, perfectly loyal mutant enforcers.
>>
>>32869786
>What about a class based society? cities/nations that convert willingly get to be a higher cast.
Fine by me. I'd be cool with a non retarded level of patriarchy as well. Given our circumstances, I don't really see the need to insist on equal sexes.
>>
>>32869863
Is there. Date for the next thread?
>>
>>32869939
To have an efficient society you naturally need to have not-retarded levels of equality. Having half of your population not participate in the economy and wear bags over their heads is just a waste. Then again, i'm going with rape and torture, I might as well add in some patriarch to the mix. Only men can hold certain jobs or public office? Gender restricted jobs? men have full ownership of assets and children when married?

>>32869987
its always Wednesday starting around the same time.
>>
>>32870027
I was thinking that
>men have full ownership of assets and children when married?
+
>Polygny
+
>heavy restrictions on what jobs unmarried women have, especially in government.
Basically this means that the most powerful women will be our wives, with the next level down belonging to the wives of the men who follow us. And so on down the chain.
