Upon finding the owner under the control of the demon you seek, you and your partner dispatched him with a series of throws, ultimately resulting in damage to his place of business. Shifting through the rubble you found what Kaede was talking about, the threads you saw back at your home and by the well earlier today.

As you examined them you found your hands covered in small cuts. It seems that the demon that set this plan in motion can use this “hair”, as Kaede called it, to control its victims, set traps, or as a weapon. Making a mental note of this finding, you and Inuyasha set off into the night...


You have been tracking these threads for what feels like over an hour. Your feet hurt and you’re starting to become frustrated with your lack of progress in this hunt.

You furrow your brow, frustrated at the slow pace of the hunt. You clench and unclench your fists as you watch this Inuyasha character scurry about the forrest floor on all fours; his face to the ground, deeply inhaling the earth. “There’s no way this clown is for real” you wonder aloud.

Inuyasha stands up, tucking his arms into his massive kemono. He broods for a bit, shooing away a few moths before turning to you with a scowl “The scent of blood is strong beyond this point...” “Very strong.” he repeats.

As he reaches to move the brush aside, you clench your naginata and step back, waiting, praying for a fight or for anything to snap you back into focus. The man in red pauses and shakes his head, letting out a sigh. He waves you over and you follow him through the brush into an abandoned campsite. The stench of rotting flesh and blood assaults you like a sledgehammer.

Strewn about the area are the corpses... or rather the parts of at least 6 men. Most with their heads completely removed, others have been drawn and quartered, their remains strewn about the camp. To the back of a camp is a man tethered to a tree, naked and flayed.

Why not all three? This doesn't have to be mutually exclusive.

An errant spirit trapped in the jewel became "grafted" to Kagome due to her exposure to it. Before, it was too weak and impotent to do anything in the modern era with all the skepticism and reason other than give our protagonist some bad dreams. But in this age where demons roam and the dead walk, it has been steadily gaining strength and is now expanding the limits of its influence. Since it is a fundamental part of her, it will always act to help her... but there's no telling what it may do to achieve its goals.

You strain to raise your hand, your entire body feels like there’s a massive force pushing down on it, but eventually you feel an intense heat wrap around your hand. The world around you instantaneously shifts to black. The sound of popping embers the only noise in this new void.

You stand, feeling weightless and invigorated. You open your mouth to speak only to find your words mute.

A small pink flame flickers in the distance. ”Awaken...”

Your eyes snap open and you’re in the forrest again, away from slaughtered men. Inuyasha sits cross legged, scowling with his eyes closed. Just what the hell happened back there anyway?

You roll over and clasp your naginata and rise to your feet, your partner opens a single eye to examine you. “Looks like yer finally awake. Good goen’ getten all girly back there acten like ya never seen a dead guy before. So’er ya gunna come or ar ya just gunna be dead weight with that fat b-”

“Lets finish what we came here to do.” The best thing you can do for yourself is to stop asking questions at this point and accept this new reality.

Inuyasha continues walking forward at a confident stride toward the giant hairball. "Well they're either dumb, strong enough to not need to hide, or both. Right?" you ask. “Ya I guess.”

You keep pace with him and thanks to his near manlet status, it’s pretty easy to do. You can’t help but notice the massive ball seems to be suspended from the surrounding cliffs with the same material you’ve seen countless times before. It also appears to be getting colder the closer you get to the structure.

“No sneak attacks er nothen’? Maybe he’s out ta din-” You grab the back of Inuyashas coat, stopping him in his tracks. “The entire area’s filled with those threads...”

“I don’t see nothen’.”

“Just be careful. Well, what are you waiting for? Go... I don’t know, use demon magic or something.”

He raises an eyebrow “Demon magic?”

“Well ya, you’re some kind of bad ass right? Go, I don’t know, punch it or something.” you whisper as you edge yourself closer to a boulder on the path.

“Ya whatever... YOOOOOOOOO Who here’s be-”

“Oh me oh me... pretty mr. silver mane walked right into my lair. What a treat!”

“Who said that?!” Before your partner can react; a shining black mass whips past your field of vision, revealing that Inuyasha has been hoisted into the air and bound with his arms and legs spread. A woman in a rather scandalous outfit stands a few feet away from him, balancing on the razor wires like a tightrope walker. “I suppose it would be rude of me not to introduce myself to you Inuyasha, son of Taisho... I already know so much about you. For the remainder of your short life you may call me Yura of the Demon Hair.”

You have a clear shot at her back, but there’s no way throwing your weapon or crawling up and jumping on her would be a good idea. You jump up and down waving your arms to get Inuyashas attention, pointing at Yura, then at the boulder you hid behind to try and get him to lure her down... but he doesn’t quite get the message.

“So what, yer not behind the bolder any more ya idiot, big deal! Yer supposed to be hidden while I take care-a this! ...wait...”

Yura raises an eyebrow as she slowly turns her head “You honestly don’t think I would fall f-... oh.”

Yura summersaults through the web of hairs before coming to a stop, hanging upside down on one and leveling her face with yours. She runs her fingers through your hair, pausing to rub a few strands between her fingers before you can react. “Oh me oh my, such soft hair...” she replies, taking a comb out from her cleavage “It’s a shame it’s such a dull col-”

A burst of liquid hits your face and chest. You wipe your face and look up to see a shard of silver sticking out from her chest, drops of blood running along it.

“HA! And people say I’m tha’ dumb one.” your idiot partner grins, dislodging his sword and jumping down. He swings the blade in an arc, cleaning it of blood, but splashing you with even more red residue.

“How... how RUDE! It’s only proper manners to treat a lady to a nice dinner before before you go impaling her with things you... you BRUTE!” The should be corpse jumps upwards and lands on her toes among the spider web of razor hair. She brings her comb back and makes a wide sweeping motion with it.

As Yura sweeps her comb down, a massive tendril of hair cascades toward you. You fall to your knees and bend backwards causing it to miss and continue over your prone body. Inuyasha simple jumps out of the way wearing a smug grin.

Without a second thought, you reach up into the hair tendril and grab hold, hitching a ride on its underside as it arc back around Yura and shoots toward Inuyasha again.

Letting go, you raise your Naginata above your head and bring it crashing down on Yuras Shoulder. Your weight, momentum, and placement working together to sever her right arm in an instant.

You notice the tentacle seems to dissipate and fade into the wind as you fall towards the earth. You close your eyes bracing yourself for impact, however rather than feeling the hard ground against you, you open your eyes to reveal that you’ve been caught by your partner. “Yer one crazy girl ya know that?” he remarks, setting you down.

The two of you look up to see Yura looking dumbstruck as it looks like her arm is... reforming itself out of the razor hair!

“Man this bitch is hard ta kill... Look around fer a totem er somethen! She might not be the real demon!”

The comb! She used her comb to control the hair. If you can take it away from her or break it she should at least lose the ability to stitch herself back together or attack.

Out of the corner of your eye you spot her short sword pinwheeling toward you from the forest and turn just in time; the blade only grazing your armor and ruining your trajectory.

“So so impatient! That’s not lady like at all.” The blade loops around Yura, who catches it in her now reformed hand.

This time however no one catches your fall and you crash to the ground. Wincing in pain you notice Yura is keeping a close eye on Inuyasha who is standing near the giant hair ball.

“HEY!” you shout, as you right yourself “Why would you want tacky white hair when you could have something as silky and perfect as mine?” you taunt, flipping your hair while making a mental note it hasn’t been washed in at least 3 days. Yura turns her gaze toward you and swings down for another attack like an acrobat with a death wish. You step back and ready your naginata to intercept her, however with a meer flick of her hand you’re thrown off balance. She must have snagged you with her hair somehow!

Her blade finds its mark, piercing through your armor and leaving a gash in you. A pink light shines from under your armor, putting Yura in a trance. You’d be stunned to, but you’re finding it harder and harder to be surprised at this point.

“OOOOH! OOOH! You naughty naughty girl, you DO have the jewel after all!” She coos, kicking you to your back. She straddles you, placing her blade above your armor and heart “Looks like I’ll finally get some jewelry to go with all my lovely lovely h-”

A flash of red erupts in the corner of your eye and the two of you turn to see the giant hair ball has become a tangled mess... filled with... skulls? Yura snarls and gets off of you, taking her comb she sweeps it at Inuyasha, wrapping him in razor hairs before bursting into flames. “STOP. TANGLING. MY. HAIR!”
