Having finally completed your trials on Korriban, you were instructed by your new master, Lord Velas, to report to the planet Nal Hutta for your first mission. Before obeying her instructions, you had a private celebration with an apprentice named Veelna, and then stole the academy medical droid, CH-4N (this almost got you killed). Eventually, you did make your way to Nal Hutta, where a Rodian met you at the spaceport. He gave you a holocummunicator containing a message from your master, and took you to his home to view it. Your master instructed you to conquer the city of Jiguuna, and the surrounding area. After viewing the message, you killed him, got your medical droid repaired, killed the mechanic, and learned Chain Lightning from a holocron. Afterwards, you bought some armor to blend in, and spoke to an information broker, who told you about the gangs of Jiguuna. You met with Yaldan, the leader of the smallest of the gangs, and convinced him and the others of his gang to serve you. After discussing plans, you went home and learned Force Storm from the holocron. You then went to the palace of the Twi'lek crimelord, Toth'lazhen, where you met a Pike smuggler, and his Ratattaki bodyguard. The Pike took you to his ship and tried to get you to help him form a criminal syndicate. Seeing him as an incompetent fool, you killed him, gained his bodyguard as an ally, and took control of his ship and resources.

>Welcome to Sith Quest

Here is the basic layout. Decisions will be made by voting on various options. Whichever option has the most votes after ten minutes is the winner. All votes are final, so choose wisely. Also, you can add some dialogue to your vote, if you wish. During combat, if you want to say something, just type what you want to say with your vote. During conversations, if multiple people supply different dialogue, I will combine as many as I can so long as they do not contradict one another, in order to avoid a conversation taking several hours.

>Important

The combat system will be dice based and use a d100 system. In order to succeed in those options, one out of the first three rolls must be equal to or greater than the specified number. However, if a number of 4 or lower is rolled in the first three, then whatever you were attempting will go very badly. On the other hand, if a number of 96 or higher is rolled in the first five, then whatever you are attempting will go very well unless a roll of 4 or below occurred in the first three.

Rolls will not occur until the voting time is up and the option for a particular roll has won

"We both know that he is an idiot with a big mouth he never learned to shut," the Ratattaki starts bluntly. "I've been travelling with him for a while. I know his contacts. A wealth of credits and resources are on this ship, and everything else he has is only a matter of hiring someone to get from his accounts. He's looking for survival and a chance at power by making a deal with you. I don't need power; just wealth and a chance to bust some skulls. If you want a figurehead to put in charge of Jiguuna, you can find hundreds in that town. This man has no real skills except for being a passable pilot, and there are far better ones around here as well. I say you kill him, and let me in on whatever you're planning."

"Deal," you tell her, turning your attention back to the Pike.

His eyes widen in renewed terror as you slowly approach him. "My-my Lord, please! Please, I beg of you! Don't kill me! I promise, I can be useful! That syndicate I wanted to create, it's yours! Not even a partnership, it's all yours!"

His words fall on deaf ears as you make your way towards him. Keeping him pinned to the wall with one hand, you slowly raise the other, and point all of your fingers towards him. Bolts of lightning explode from your fingers, striking the defenseless Pike, who screams in agony. It takes only seconds for the weak creature to go limp, dead from your power. You let his corpse fall to the floor, and turn your attention back to the Ratattaki.

"It is done," you say simply.

She smiles. "So it is. I always thought the stories of Sith Powers were exaggerated, but that was impressive. I guess you and I have a lot to talk about."

"Take a seat," you instruct her.

She raises an eyebrow, but does as you say, retaking her spot atop the crate. You proceed to explain everything; who you are, your mission here in Jiguuna, and what you have done to further that goal so far.

"So, you're planning to intensify the fighting between the major gangs while silently building up your own, then crush them all once they've been sufficiently weakened," she sums up. "Good plan, and plenty of opportunity for some violence. As for how to do that, I think your Zeltron friend could be of help."

This is the setting where Imperial Intelligence have a sort of rivalry / dislike of the Sith right? If so I say we try to get on their good side
>>

>>32984479
"What do you mean?" you ask her.

"Well, Zeltrons are pretty well known for their powers of seduction," she explains. "So, have her hook up with someone from one of the gangs, and steal something from him. A gang badge, uniform, anything. Then, "accidentally" leave it behind when you do one of your little raids. It will make it a lot easier to get one of the gangs to suspect the other. The easiest would probably be a member of Toth'lazhen's gang, but really any of them would work."

She has knowledge of at least what contacts the Pyke had. Being a gun for hire, she probably knows a few others in the business, as well. I'm tempted to give her the lion's share of the Pyke's cash and tell her to try and build a group of mercenaries for violent jobs - playing on her clear appreciation for carnage in an attempt to engender her loyalty.

That way we have whatever team she can assemble and Yaldan's gang: both answering to us, and we're not investing too much in one group or the other.

"That's a good idea," you admit. "I'll probably end up using it. For now, though, the most pressing matter is that of our Pyke friend's resources. What are we talking, here?"

She shrugs. "Not much. He didn't have that many friends, though he does have the contact information of a few Underworld figures he did jobs for. On this ship he has a bit of spice, some weapons and parts. He also has a safe hidden on the ship containing about a hundred thousand credits for an emergency. Everything else is in his accounts; I think the amount he has in his account is about four hundred thousand. The spice he has in the ship was supposed to be delivered to some cult on Nar Shaddaa. They were going to pay him ten thousand on delivery. It'd be worth a lot more on the black market, but the Hutt that hired us to deliver the spice probably wouldn't be happy if we sold it. I can make the run in this ship and be back by tomorrow."

She smirks. "You got it, boss. I know a few places on Nar Shaddaa to find some real nasty people. It might take me an extra day or two to get back if I'm recruiting, though."

She hops down from the crate and walks up to you. "I'll use my half of the credits from the safe to fund this, but in exchange, the credits from the spice run are mine. We can discuss the credits in his accounts and the ship later, deal?"

Yeah, i'm with this Anon. While we want Yaldan to have a solid, reliable powerbase under him, there's no reason NOT to bring in mercs when we can pay them well. (We couldn't before)

We want our gang-members to be loyal to Yaldan. Mercenaries we'll recruit for the dangerous jobs to avoid putting our people at undue risk. It's pretty much what they're paid for.

She smiles and takes a step back. "Good. I get the feeling this is going to be a wonderful partnership."

She leads you to the crew's bedroom, and removes a panel from the wall, revealing a hidden compartment. She reaches in and pulls a small safe from the compartment, before setting it down and retrieving a key from her boot. She opens the safe, revealing stacks of credits, half of which she gives to you.

"Don't spend it all in one place," she teases.

She turns and begins making her way towards the cockpit before stopping and turning back towards you. "Oh, do you have a way for me to contact you when I get back?"

You give her your holocomm number, and she gives you hers.

"Alright then, I'm going to get started," she tells you. "See you soon."

You decide to make your way to the safehouse, and plan to give half of your credits to Yaldan upon your arrival. So, you leave the spaceport and stroll through town, soon finding the building you were looking for.

Gahtor stands guard at the door, but steps aside as you approach, allowing you to enter with no trouble. Inside, you find Chartah lounging at the table, a bored expression on her face. She looks up as you enter and gives a small smile.

"Welcome back, my Lord," she purrs.

"Yes, welcome back indeed," Yaldan says, coming down the stairs. "We've accomplished a fair amount in your absence. Soolah has dealt with the information broker situation, and Tixx has found a potential backup safehouse."

"It's been boring around here," Chartah complains.

"I have to agree," Soolah says, coming down the stairs. "Killing information brokers just isn't that exciting. Waiting around for my idiot brother to get back is even less so."

"Shortly after you left, my Lord," Yaldan tells you.

"He said he was going to try finding some recruits in the Poison Pit Cantina," Soolah tells you. "He figured all of Toth'lazhen's people would be at the Cantina at the palace, so there wouldn't be much risk at the Poison Pit. I just hope he tries a bit of subtlety."

"He should be fine," Yaldan comments. "My Lord, what were you doing while you were gone?"

You explain all that you did after you left, studying the Dark Side, killing the Pike and getting his bodyguard to join you, claiming his resources and sending her off to recruit mercenaries for you.

"Impressive," Yaldan tells you.

"Very impressive," Chartah says, standing up and walking over to you. "I like a man who knows how to get things done."

Soolah makes a disgusted face at Chartah. "I do have to admit, what you accomplished was impressive, my Lord. That is, of course, assuming the Ratattaki doesn't betray you. I hope not; it sounds like her and I would get along."

All conversation is cut off by the beeping of a holocommunicator. Soolah retrieves hers and activates it. A hologram of Leebo appears, hunched over and clutching his side.

"Hey, sis," he greets.

Her eyes narrow. "What happened?"

"A couple of Toth'lazhen's boys heard me talking," he explains. "They came after me, and one shot me in the side while I ran. I managed to barricade myself in one of the rooms, but they'll get in sooner or later."

"Hold on, I'm on my way," you tell him, turning to leave.

"I'm coming, too," Soolah tells you, following.

The two of you exit the safe house, and dash past a bewildered Gahtor. Soolah, knowing the town better than you, leads the way. The two of you receive a fair amount of curious and fearful looks as you make your way towards the Cantina, and you can't really blame people for their reactions, in a town like this, a couple of people running like the two of you are is probably a sign of something bad about to happen.

Soon, the two of you reach the Cantina. Soolah draws a blaster and vibroblade before running inside. You follow close behind, and upon entering, find the Cantina mostly empty. A few patrons sit around having their drinks as if nothing's happening, but most of the few remaining people look afraid.

Soolah rushes across the room and into a hallway. Following her, you see a pair of humans armed with blasters standing outside one of the doors.

"Open up, kid," one of them yells, pounding on the door. "The longer you make us wait to get in there, the longer we make you wait to die."

"I still say we should call Rex," the other human says.

"Over this little squirt? I'm not wasting his time with that," the first human replies.

"Oh, this is going to be too easy," Soolah mutters. "They aren't paying any attention to anything but the door."

Wanting to keep the two thugs alive, you thrust your hand towards them, intending to throw them both back against the wall. However, a few things go wrong.

First of all, your attack only hits one of them, and he is only knocked over, not thrown across the hall. The other turns towards you, sees your outstretched hand, then looks at his friend on the ground.

"It's a Jedi!" he yells.

"No, you idiot!" the one on the ground yells. "It's a Sith!"

From the ground, he fires at you, striking you in the chest several times before Soolah gets in front of you and blocks a few shots with her vibroblade. It takes all of her focus to defend herself and you, making her unable to counterattack, and when the other gangster starts shooting, it becomes too much for her.

A shot soon makes it through her defenses, striking her in the chest. She gasps, her body making a quick jerk. Her vibroblade and blaster fall from her hands as she falls to her knees. Her upper body falls forward, and she lays sprawled on the ground. You aren't sure if she's dead yet, but it's not like you can do much to help her in your condition.

The gangster you pushed gets off the floor and starts moving towards you.

"Now you can call Rex," he tells the other. He keeps his blaster trained on your head. "I have to tell you, I was not expecting to run into one of you during my visit to the Cantina. I'll bet Toth'lazhen will be even more curious than I am about what you're doing here."

Holding your hands out towards the approaching gangster, you unleash your signature attack; lightning!

The torrent of electricity blasts from your fingertips, striking the gangster's chest, causing him to scream in agony and convulse wildly. The blaster falls from his hand as he falls to his knees, his cries echoing through the hall and attracting terrified screams from the main room of the Cantina.

"Rex! We have a Sith here! Rex, get to the Poison Pit, now!" yells the other gangster as his friend slowly dies in front of him.

With one gangster dead, the other one too afraid and busy with the holo to do anything, the Cantina in a panic, and one of your servants possibly dying, what you do next is a VERY important decision.

>A. Blast the other gangster with lightning! (30 or higher)

You raise your hands and point your fingers towards the other gangster. Calling on the force, you prepare to strike him dead with lightning. However, between your injuries and the effort of having just summoned lightning moments ago, it takes too long to gather your strength.

The gangster sees what you are about to do, cries out in fear, and draws his blaster, shooting you repeatedly in the head and chest.

In the end, as the darkness takes you, you are nothing....

>( GAME OVER)

>Epilogue

>Soolah perished from her wounds soon after

>Leebo was captured and interrogated, eventually telling Toth'lazhen's men everything about the gang. Yaldan and the others were soon after brutally murdered by Toth'lazhen's men.

>The Ratattaki soon returned with a squad of mercenaries. They proceeded to wreak havoc on Toth'lazhen and his operations, eventually earning the attention of Veero, who recruited them and took over Jiguuna with their help, killing Toth'lazhen and Fu'htas the Hutt

>Lord Velas trained a new apprentice whom she sent to Nal Hutta with the same mission she gave you. He was murdered by Veero's elite mercenary squad

>Lord Velas gave up on Jiguuna, and shifted her focus elsewhere

>CH-4N waited at the house for a long time, eventually getting bored and insulting people on the holonet until his systems eventually failed

i just gotta say, why would you even set a critfail range that large if you're going to make your quest this lethal? and why use d100 in the first place when your critrange is still emulating something pretty close to d20? larger crit ranges will always be worse than otherwise in a game where two measly shit rolls can kill the op. higher crit success range doent balance it. it just means cool things happen at a slightly higher rate. what does that matter when were dead?

>In the end, as the darkness takes you, you are nothing....
Nothing but rage.

Rage at your incompetent servant for being so careless and drawing you out to this repugnant shithole of a cantina.

Rage at your own pathetic weakness. You couldn't even muster the force to pin a pair of unwary gangsters? And then, when all facing you down was a single, fearful worm cowering in his boots, you couldn't even muster the strength to save yourself from him?

Is this how it ends? Broken in some seedy backroom in a fetid swamp? A sith, humbled by some nameless lackey with a blaster?

No.

You won't fade meekly into the night. You won't vindicate the arrogant views of the so-called "Pure" sith.

Velas, Skotia, countless others. They didn't believe you could make anything of yourself just because of your species. Just because you didn't fit into their precious humanocentric view of what the galaxy should be.

Are Kaleesh fit only for lives of slavery? Should you have let one of the other acolytes slay you where you stood?

No.

You recall a lesson taught to you on Korriban. You recall the words you drew out of Skotia's holocron through sheer force of will.

>"There is one thing I will share with you," he tells you. "My body was horrifically damaged, there was no way I should have been able to survive. But my hatred gave the power to endure until I was given this body. It is a simple lesson, but an important one. Hatred is a powerful tool, it makes the Sith what we are. Use your hatred, swim in its power, and even the most horrifying injuries will not stop you."
>>
>>32995981
Your eyes slam open, and from your mouth emerges a guttural scream as you tear consciousness - perhaps even your very life - back from the void. Your body-armour is scorched and broken, your body horrifyingly burnt. You have no sight in your left eye, and the pain is almost unbearable.

Even so, you force yourself to your feet. It seems in the very moment after he unloaded his blaster into you, the sole remaining gangster took the opportunity to run. It gives you one less problem to deal with in the short-term, but if he reaches Toth'lazhen's gang, there can be no doubt he'll be able to give them your description. Tell them you are sith.

You could go after him, but you're barely in a condition to keep breathing, let alone fight.

Soolah's body lies by your feet, and the screaming in the adjoining cantina frustrates your senses as it continues. Your head feels like it was split open, and let's face it - it probably has been.

What do you do?

>A. Go after the other gangster

>B. Save yourself, go home

>C. Save yourself, go to the safehouse

>D. Write-in

Not Somnius, but in true Sith fashion I won't ask for someone else to save us. I'll save us myself.

Staggering from the scene, you practically drag yourself along the wall of the cantina corridor, making for the sole exit to the building: the front door.

Whether it's because your enemies have decided to tail you and see where you go, the gangster's friends are taking their sweet time getting to the Cantina or because you barely look alive, let alone threatening enough to be sith, you blend in with the panicking masses well enough to make it outside, scarcely a thought for the Twi'lek siblings you're leaving behind.

Running on sheer stubborn, seething resentment for everything in the galaxy that would do you down and take away the great destiny you are sure is your right, you force one clawed foot in front of the other with but one destination in mind: Yaldan's safehouse.

Eventually you make it there, trailing surprisingly little blood thanks to the at least partially-cauterising nature of blaster fire. Step after step agony wracks your frame, and the sight in your left eye still hasn't come back. You start to think it might be a permanent loss.

When you reach the door to the safe-house you practically fall against the door, slamming a fist against it to attract the attention of those inside.

It's answered by the Rodian, Tixx, who recoils from your grievously injured state.

"M-my lord?" he enquires, uncertain whether this could truly be the arrogant force-user that intimidated his boss' allegiance. "What happened? Where's Soolah? Where's Leebo?"

>>32997565
"What does it look like happened?" you snarl, causing the Rodian to take another step back. His protruberant snout twitches in obvious fear, uncertain whether to take the chance to talk back to you as an equal now that you're horrifically wounded or stand in awe at how you're still standing after the punishment you received. "Soolah's dead, or as good as, and i've no idea where Leebo is," you explain with what feels like the last of your breath, letting the door close behind you as you step inside.

You lean heavily on a nearby wall, just inside. Being barely able to stand under your own power, the support is a welcome reprieve.

Yaldan is soon on the scene, followed by Chartah - who both exclaim surprise in their own ways.

Chartah gasps, and looks between you and Yaldan for a moment. She bites her lip and stays quiet.

"What was it?" asks Yaldan flatly, idly fingering the blaster at his side. "An Ambush?"

His tone betrays more than just a little frustration with the situation at hand, and you think you spot a spark of resentment in his gaze. This was the man you promised Jiguuna on a silver platter, and here you are not a day later: two of his gang dead, and his new Sith ally mortally wounded.

>A. Tell him the truth

"Don't interrogate me, Yaldan!" you snap, the pain building in your limbs, a worrying weakness starting to saturate every inch of your body. "I need medical attention!"

You start to slide down the wall of the house to the floor, your legs finally giving out under you. "Fetch something for my wounds," you croak out as your vision starts to swim. "Bacta, bandages, I don't care, just..."

And the unconsciousness you had been fighting claimed you once more.

Well fuck. It's dead. Fucking dice.

On the other hand, if a number of 96 or higher is rolled in the first five, then whatever you are attempting will go very well unless a roll of 4 or below occurred in the first three.

You know, ever since Bleach Quest died, there's a reason why crits are going out of style: problems like this quest dying.

SOM, I don't know why you inadvertently copied Meta Game: Code Geass' crit system, when the amount of crits that players rolled was 6.66%.
