Well, that is something at least. You nod then you tap your chin and feel Sin-Fin’s gentle slender fingers press into the fluff of your tail. She starts stroking the fluffy appendage with just the right amount of force, and right amount of variety in her motions. She hold eye contact with you while she does this which is, you know, sort of weird. You shiver at the sensations as you consider your options.

Sin-Fin probably knows more about most things and normal people, so she could be a wellspring of information about things and she is rather comfortable. Then again this seems like it is getting close to Lucy vs God level stuff and the only angel you are pretty close to is Snazzy Azzy, so that is a possibility as well. Of course, you did set 42 to improving the Lokitron 9000 and made him look for anything useful about gods so you could just go with raw strength building.

Man, this whole thing is a mess.

For starters, we have no idea what Heaven, Lucifer, and Mendel want their endgame to look like, and what that means for the world.

Secondly, since Lucifer apparently didn't use the Eclipse to nom another Old One, we're still a key part of his plan, which is why Mendel wanted to lock us in a vault, and it occurs to me that that might be what Heaven wants as well, get us assumed directly to heaven so Lucifer can't reach us.

And even if that isn't the case, the whole forgiveness thing seems kind of dodgy. Like to me, it kind of makes a mockery of the process if all we need to do is kill who they.want us to kill. You'd think we would at least need to be sorry.

But then again, if that was necessary, we're screwed because I doubt we're capable of remorse, or at least remorse for what Gabriel would want us to be penitent for.

You do your weird high speed spin and put your clothes back on before leaping to the bottom floor of the shrine to look for 42. You find the arrancar scratching his head by the Lokitron 9000. You sneak up behind him and drape your arms around him, smiling a little too wide with sharp bloodstained teeth. “42, oh 42, what did you do? Something fun? Did you find me a snack?” You wonder making the arrancar stiffen.

“Er, well. I did some looking around and found something kind of interesting.” He pulls out some papers. “It seems there was a weird lightning storm around a festival of some kind around Kyoto. Not sure what all it means, but you have electricity powers and I thought it might work out if you found something you liked.”

You take the paper and give it a look over before stuffing it in your pants. “How lovely, very good.” You hiss your tongue extending and wrapping around his ear. “Now for the other matter. You won’t tell me you forgot, will you?” You ask noticing he tastes decent.

“Well.” He gestures towards the machine. “I couldn’t really figure out how it worked so I painted stars, planets, galaxies, nebulae and all that on it. Then I attached a fuzzy ribbon on a stick with a bell and feather on it on the top so it sort of droops down to the bottom.”

You sonido off of him and lay on your back under the machine to gently bat at the feather bell thing. “This doesn’t make me happy you know.” You say, covering your delight.

“Now then, to go find what this lightning trickery is about.” You say hopping off of the ground and dusting off your pants.

You go into the shrine proper and sniff the air. You tilt your head as something seems off and go check out the main area of the shrine. What is wrong is immediately apparent. “Where is my plant?” You demand making the shinigami mulling about shrug and resume their duties.

You stomp through the shrine and poke your head around boxes and into cupboards to try and find your plant but to no avail. You decide to check out the sunniest room in the shrine, Jager’s hole in the wall, to see if they are having a sunlight snack. You open it to find a lot of Shinigami and arrancar working hard to rebuild her room much nicer than it was before.

“Oh, Risa here to lend a hand?” Jager asks.

“Was about to head out actually. Have you seen Theodore? I looked everywhere.” You say. Specifically behind boxes and in cupboards.

“They said they had something to do today and left a little bit earlier.” Jager explains.

Your plant has a social life? Troubling.

“If you need help I can go with you. I can’t really do any major redecorating until they finish building my room anyway.” Jager offers.

You go into the interior of the shrine and find Hiroshi working on some papers. “Oi, Hiroshi. We are going to need a medic for a run at what is probably a god. You down?”

You agree to his proposition and go over to find Snuggle fin. She is in her room, same as before, in the exact same position she was when you left with her blankets in disarray, her clothes partially removed, her eyes fixed in place. As you step in she turns to you making you start fussing over her jester outfit. “Hey Sin-Fin. You fancy we go out to kill a God?” You wonder.

She glances left, then right before going back to you. “I do not know.” Is her response.

“Right, you remember how you said you wanted to be included right? Well, this is us doing something. With a chance for you to be included too!” You explain opening your arms wide.

She looks left, then right before nodding. “Understood.” She replies. Seems she is coming along with you.

You pick her up, making sure she has a chance to grab her stolen angel blade, before making your way down to Shiba’s room. You tilt your head at her as she turns away. “I am not going to help you in some sociopathic fit.” She states plainly.

“Oh?” You say grabbing an adorable hat and placing it on the head of your Fin. You undo her skin tight outfit a little so she looks very provocative and place her in front of you. “Too bad, I even have this Lewd-Fin all twisted and lustful ready to go with me. But if you won’t go then I guess I will have to take care of her myself.”

Shiba looks back at you both and you see her go red. “You, uh. She looks really.” You see her flush a little more.

You leave Sin-Fin in the care of Shiba and go into the city to find Ryoko. She is in her room, looking over more of her journals. You see a few piles of letters by her desk, but you don’t pry into what they are. You tap on the window and she turns looking a lot better than before. “Sensei! Hey, want to come in? I can make you something nice to eat. I was really hoping to see you.”

“Can’t stay for the chin wagging Ryoko.” You declare. “We have god to be killing.”

“I could use the exercise.” Ryoko replies. “Give me a bit to get ready, okay?”

What is with everyone and needing a bit? “They don’t have an inventory. Makes their whole suddenly going places much harder.”

You sonido to your shrine and wait for a while, your group quickly assembling around you. Ryoko wraps her arms around yours and squeezes you into her chest. “So Sensei. Where are we going?” She finally asks.

“Kyoto I think.” You reply as Sin-Fin stares at you both. “Seems to be some lightning madness going on.”

“I want to take… a train.” Sin-Fin explains.

“But we can just-“ You start but she looks into your eyes and you feel her aura of despair start to take bites out of your aura of delight.

Your group gets on a train and it is a few hour ride to Kyoto. You spend it napping while Ryoko tries to impress on you her knowledge of the location to make you notice her. But you shall not be drawn in by her trickery. You wake up as the train pulls into the station, yawning and still out of it. The smell of ionized air shoots through you.

You look up and see billowing storm clouds which turn the day into night. Cracks of lighting and explosions of thunder rock you all the way to your teeth. Your group steps out and you see Shiba get more panicked. “Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck.” She says staring up.

“Ah, Shiba-kun, a lady shouldn’t use that sort of language.” Hiroshi explains.

“Sometimes we have to. We should get inside somewhere. We need to get inside somewhere and hide. We can’t let that thing notice us.” She explains staring up.

“The papers say it is centered around a shrine in the outskirts of the city. We could just run there now.” Jager explains looking over the papers she took from you.

“No, not like this. We need to get somewhere.” Shiba repeats sweating.

“Fine then, into a building.” You say rushing over to a shop.

“Who recommended this shop to you?” The host asks.

“What? No one I-“ You start but the water shakes his head.

Then how the bloody hell do they make a profit? You leave the building, it being spared from your wrath only at Jager’s insistence. You get turned away at three more shops before you finally decide to hit up an Inn. You see Shiba is visibly shaking at this point, and trying to hold herself together.

“Ai ya. Welcome, welcome.” The inn keeper says.

“You aren’t going to turn us down because we are first time customers are you? Because one more time and I start ceroing everything, even if Jager tells me no.” You declare.

“Kyoto culture must seem strange to foreigners. It is a Kyoto tradition at some restaurants, but you need not worry. Inns don’t really do that sort of thing, always getting new people coming and going. Would you like just the one room?” The woman asks.

“Ah, yeah. Thank you [Young lady]” Hiroshi says giving his best smile to the older innkeeper.

“Oh ho aren’t you a charmer! This way, this way.” The Innkeeper commands leading you to your room.

“Your concerns are noted, but last time we waited the world snake got stolen from us.” You explain. What? You didn’t have dibs. It was out there and Mendel went for it. “I totally had dibs!” You protest.

“You really want to just run up there?” Shiba asks.

“Yes. We are going to run up there and punch everything in its stupid face.” You reply.

Your group leaves the Inn and you make your way to the shrine. It is easy to get a lock on as the whole giant storm thing seems to be circling around one particular spot in the forest. You sonido over cars and around buildings and as you get within a couple of kilometers you feel your god rock vibrate in a way that lets you know you are in a bubble of god eye.

You look up and hear a roar of hate and anguish as energy builds and you know you are under attack. A bolt of lightning nearly slams into you, but with a quick dream walk away you avoid it. You frown as you realize he is not going to make it easy to make it to the center of the storm.

You sonido wait until the lightning gets a lock on you then throw up your mirror. It crackles before being reflected back into the clouds with a touch more power than before and you grin wide fully confident you beat the system. You smell the portion of your energy go up into the clouds, get caught by something, charged up, then sent back down to you.

You put up your mirror again as the stronger bolt, infused with your energy and the energy of whatever god is up there and feel it press heavily against you. You throw it back with more energy and continue your run towards the shrine as the others behind you deal with the lightning their own way.

Sin-Fin slips shadow to shadow to keep away from the crashing bolts, Hiroshi seems to have some sort of cloak he has thrown over his head which is nullifying the attacks. Shiba is gesturing with her spear to send the bolts away, and shrugging off the ones which do while Jager seems to just wait for the last second and then dodge the bolts by millimeters.

You feel your go juice get charged up more, then sent back down to you. You realize what is going on but can do nothing to stop it at the point so you throw up your shield again and nearly go down to one knee as the energy slams into it. Your power charges it up more and sends it back and you keep pressing on. Your comrades are using their go juice to try to keep the lightning off of them, save Jager who is still just dodging at the last second.

You feel the energy build above you again as the bolt you sent back up is super charged once more and sent down. This time you square your stance and throw up your arms putting all you got into the shield. You strain against the force of it and see cracks start to form in your shield. You snarl in frustration as you send it back, shattering your shield in the process.

You sonido forward, praying it works but feel your heart sink as the god above you grabs the lightning and charges it even further. The sky above you turns totally white and, like some sort of alien death ray, a cannon of pure electricity slams down in the middle of your group scattering all of you. To the different parts of the path.

Your ears are blasted and your eyes totally burned as you feel your cooked skin already start to heal. You feel something strong and lovely lift you up and press your face against sublime softness which smells of apples. You blink as the sound of thunder comes back and you gain the ability to see again. You see you are laying up a flight of stairs before a shrine.

Jager wipes some sweat off of her brow and you see the others are around you all getting up after the massive bolt. “No way.” You say staring at her.

“What? Are you still hurt?” Jager asks looking you over.

“How did you dodge all of them?” You wonder.

Jager blinks and scratches at her short black hair. “I just jumped at the right time I guess.”

“And the really big one?” You wonder.

“Yeah, just jumped and was lucky. Why?” Jager wonders.

You stand up and frown in thought. Weighing the pros and cons you reach into your pants, grab a little knight doll, and stuff it in her arms before turning and walking away. You are pretty sure she got an achievement for that.

You look over the shrine and don’t see anyone. Most of the facilities are destroyed and you are pretty sure there is no one physically here. You sniff the air and note it smells wrong.

“Ah, Ri-chan. There is a bubble here. Shinigami sometimes make them when they need to hide from hollows or do complex arts.” Hiroshi says. “I could open the way for you, or we could try to lure the people on the other side out.

He turns it like a key and you see a doorway open up between the worlds, far more elegant than your garganta which is like kicking reality in the teeth and telling it to give you its fucking lunch money.

You step into the bubble between worlds and are immediately bewildered by what you see. Three Shinigami with thick magical ghost ropes leading up to the sky and attached to some sort of magical winch are sending up their go juice. Up. You get sent sprawling back and slam against the dimensional wall, then quickly get back up.

“What did you do to my-“ Jager starts but Nana gets in front of her with her sword drawn.

“Activate the sequence. Bankai!” She shouts and is surrounded in rose petals.

She is now standing there in a pretty robe thingy. “Kimono.” You explain flexing your arm. Right.

She is in a dazzling kimono with a dizzying array of colours. She opens her eyes and you see that her irises have gained a flower shape and countless vegetation begins growing around her. You see trees, flowers, vines, and countless other things surrounded with strange energy.

You decide to let Hiroshi do his little talking thing. Then he will lose his patience and you can say you told him so and then people will get that you are always right and you can have chocolate bars with like, rainbows and stuff.

You push yourself up and let Hiroshi do his talking thing. “Hm, so your issue is with Ri-Chan and how you don’t think she has humanity’s best interest at heart while you do?” He asks.

“What good is talking now?” Ri-kun says making you almost want to point and say you told him so, but Hiroshi just smiles wider.

“Ah, talking can change everything. If everyone were to just come together and talk more a lot of issues could be resolved. You don’t trust Ri-chan right? Well do you trust me?” Hiroshi asks.

“Well. I do think you have everyone’s best interests at heart.” Ri-Kun responds, his flames dying down so you can see his face. “Fine! I will listen, but Tetsuo will keep doing what he is doing!” He declares.

“Ok-kay.” He says pulling out a jar of alcohol. “If you want to talk to a man straight you can never do it sober.” He explains.

Damn it, they are listening. This is not going with the plan of ‘Hey, look you were totally wrong about these people you have known for possibly hundreds of years and I know them better’ “That plan does not sound as good in my head. I think there may have been a flaw in my logic there.” You explain.

Ri-Kun sits down while Nana stands back creating more flowers around Tetsuo. “So your concern is Ri-chan isn’t thinking about what is best for humanity right? With all the evil things crawling about you think she is going to do harm.”

Well, I'd say that the only way we could possibly convince Hiroshi to let us have at them and get at the imprisoned god is to convince him that his allies are high on borrowed power, and that their master will eventually come back to claim said powers much to the ruin of everyone.
