“So, ready to give me some grand-kids, Finn?” you ask your squire, clapping a hand on his shoulder from behind.

Finn squawks in response, jumping and spinning to face you. He opens and closes his mouth like a fish several times before just giving you the biggest grin you’ve ever seen him wear.

Then he says, “So, um, could I get some lessons in that stuff? It was great but, uh, I felt like I should be doing more. Rayza said I’d have a few months before I’d need to ‘perform’ for her…”

You hesitate for a moment before saying, “We’ll see. Just concentrate on the memories for now.”

You’re not really sure how you could give Finn lessons. The main thing he would need is experience and giving him that would potentially be awkward. It might be best to just see how women acted towards him from now on – he might not even need the helping hand in that particular arena. You were going to have to chase up whether he was taking the contraceptive brew, however. You didn’t know how sexual maturity worked in elves but the ability to have a fun night usually meant you could produce the unwanted results.

You frown at that – you hadn’t thought about the possibility of bringing Finn into your fold alienating him from his old comrades. He didn’t seem too broken up about it, though that was a given what he’d gotten just last night.

“I’ll speak to Hartman after the initial event,” you say, catching Fenix approaching your private stand with his guards in tow.

You hesitate before walking off, wondering how to encourage Finn in his archery here.

Well, it can only be for the better. If she set him some goal before their next visit then he’d have even more drive than usual. A terrifying thought. At least she didn’t seem to be trying to actively steal him away though did wonder what could be in a few months.

You give Hartman a wave, and he gives you a salute, as you pass. Then you’re inside the stands with Fenix, yours and his guards outside. It’s just you and this diabolical monster, masquerading as a jovial king, for a nice long chat about politics. He’s set out a map on the table, numerous markings indicating items of interest.

What catches your eye isn’t the fact that the map is solely of the Royal Seraphi Kingdom, excluding even nearby Magi League territories. No, it’s the fact that the RSK is clearly divided into four separate regions along no discernable lines. Old King Fenix seems to see the RSK as four separate regions – the most startling is the northern front with League.

Could it be the RSK is just as fragile as the League? Or is Fenix preparing something else to offer to you? His face is unreadable as you approach him but as serious as it was when he offered you the position of Magister General.

Sorry for those who stuck it out for a longer session. Interest has died a bit and I don’t have it in me to do a diplomacy scene after an entire day of writing.

Also, wow, I got next to nothing done this session. The only plot point I got out of the way was the negotiation with Compagnon. I'm going to have to pull my finger out for the next two threads.

For those wondering, the next major fight scene will likely be the fight between Rayza and Lynn. It's planned for the thread after next. Next thread will mostly be diplomacy.

I think it was mainly the Merchant scene that caused it to feel slow for me. We pressed on but we won't really see how it ends till a bit later. So that large chunk kind of sits there with no real conclusion until later. Then the thread goes little light hearted then cuts off right at the RSK diplomacy one of the most important scenes in the tourney.

If it caught him by surprise? It would hurt like a bitch and normally cripple him - except Iron Body would keep him going.

If he saw it coming he'd just shrug it off. It's a spiritual technique so he can just knock it away with channeled astral power. There's not much that can directly harm him.

I also finally created Saareg's character sheet in full, though I may consider toning it down a bit.

Are you referring to Karise or Sarrn with that? Sarrn did choose to marry Karise over all of his other suiters basically because she was the most attractive and experienced. Karise is Karise, though - she wasn't supposed to come across quite like this but that's what happened.

Taira confirms that the angels in general had little interest in Pharos over the last thousand years. The few times they did visit it was very brief. Her pet theory is that there is something different about the landmass of Gauron compared to that of Pharos. You're also certain that she knows more and is just hiding it, in the same way she doesn't talk too deeply about the foxes.

Either way, there is definitely something about Gauron that is tying the angels there. Or perhaps just something that drives them away from other landmasses.
