Previously: Cerulean arrived upon a mysterious island after a mission to rescue shipwrecked personnel had gone awry due to mysterious humanoid monsters.

Meeting the natives, Cerulean found aid in the form of a humanoid monster by the name of Kurojo, a tusked Kahkori of Kakarkiko island.

With his and his uncle's help, she had been reunited with Marine, her friend from training and childhood.

After killing a fierce foe reviled by Kahkori, Cerulean fell ill, and was given a cure by Kurojo. In the village, she learned of a strange ability and found herself able to utilize "Aura."

Journeying with Kurojo, Cerulean and Marine make it to the joint city of races amongst the island chain. It is there in Raguna city that she fights to the death with a rambunctious Smolderan.
Slipping out of her right mind, she executes her foe with absolute certainty, earning her some recognition with a Smolderan leader and the right to engage in a hunting exam at his request.

Cerulran takes a test with another species known as the Araraki, an infallibly polite and timid representative of her people.
Upon completing the hunt, they are put through a naming ceremony and engage in some festivities, taking a somewhat heavier turn as Akabaron, Vi-Smohkan of the Smolderan, goes over his deal with Cerulean.

Charter the construction of a boat with Kurojo's aid...

Everyone holds their breath now after you finish telling them of “common” facts of the dome. It's hidden, the people there live lives unmolested by monsters, there's a fighting force that protects the dome that you're a part of. You don't get into detail about how rangers are made though.
Under the watchful eye of the Araraki representatives, two lizards clad in royal leathers, you hold your tongue on anything that they might consider “evil”

“And do they know of Arceus?” Hao plays at asking the question, as though the answer should be obvious.
You nod instantly. “Yes, most of us pray to Arceus every day... It'd be weird if we didn't know about Arceus, right?”

You sense the Araraki straightening up, the Smolders seem to have a mutual disinterest in the conversation, the Orange-Red, Infernius of Cruorcibal snorts out his belligerence with flame.

“Have something to add, Vi-Smohkan?” Azura's reaching question is like a finger beckoning a meowth to come hither into a trap.

He begins to open his mouth, nearly falling for it under the Araraki's ghastly stares, their eyes subtly luminated beneath those wretched masks of theirs.

Janlon growls, a grating noise as he clears his throat an intruding savior, “Nothing we quite know of that. We've heard of Arceus before though, yes?”

“I believe I was speaking to Infernius,” Azura quips.

“I understand that you said 'Vi-Smohkan.' ” Janlon smiles, a broken fang gleaming in the light through his muzzle.

“Silence.” Lord Hao's voice a casual, yet known whisper. “Our most honored guest is not done.”

All the eyes return to you, and you look down, blushing beneath the white of your fur and makeup. It's kind of weird to be this important...

Lord Hao is to your right at the head of the table, Lord Hrozai to the left, Marine across from you and Lady Azura to her right.
Then from there at the other end of the table are all the Smolders to one side, the Tusked Kahkori across from them, and then the Araraki across from the Ferrynes.

Oddly enough, I think that the Smohkan are our safest bet for getting home with minimal problems.
>>

Well, let's ask about what Lord Hrozai said before.
>It is also est not to fight before new guests to our table and possible allies.
>>
>>33500483
aaand the pokeymans are online. Let's see what we have here.

>[] Formally ask for assistance in getting home.
If we could just, er, see your charts, that might be greatly helpful.

Also tell them we're not actually that important back home, and we didn't want to get everyone's hopes up. This party thing is just... not what we planned on.
>>
>>33500630
Not really the most appropriate thing to do right now, given that we formally refused Lord Hao's help once before. It's only polite to let them initiate on offering help, as was Hao's stated intention earlier on in this conversation.
>>
>>33500459
>the people there live lives unmolested by monsters
>unmolested

Woah now; why do we live in the dome again?
>>
>>33500698
well, whatever then.

I don't know what we'd go on to tell them about the dome, anyway. We could tell them that, because the dome is hidden, they might not want to make contact?

I don't have any brilliant ideas here.
>>
>>33500801
I think we have already told them enough about the Dome. Hell we have already damned anyone stupid enough to go back with us.
>>
>>33500852
but possibly not wanting to make contact IS our actual reason for not wanting to bring them back and wanting to do it on our own.
If the dome folk don't want to talk to these guys, it would have been much better that they didn't even come at all.
If we need to explain ourselves truthfully, that's how I see it.

As for an actual action here, I'm sort of stumped. We've never traded outside the dome or met a friendly culture outside of 'em, so this is all very weird.
>>
>>33500998
We have already told them about our society, where we have crazy flying machines, A/C, food to support 20 times the current population of these islands and the ability to not care about monster due to magic hax tech. Pretty sure all the tuskless lords now want someone in their retinues to see this shit for themselves, at the very least.

>>[X] Keep talking while you have their attention.
>>
>>33500852
>>33500801
The problem is that Prof took telling them the general location of the Dome to mean also giving them a sugarcoated overview that left out the isolationism and xenophobia. Which is literally the last thing we wanted.

Way to fuck up, Prof.
>>
>>33501184
>>33501067
I don't really care about that any more. We'll just have to tell them the place is pretty isolationist and might not even want visitors, and be firm that they have to leave if we don't come back for them.
>>
>>33501184
It feels like you're the only one who ever wanted to emphasize "the isolationism and xenophobia". Which isn't really the case at all.

We're isolated as a matter of course so that we don't get attacked by monsters. Sabrina is the only xenophobic Gym Leader we know of. Giovanni (with Bruise), Bruno (with the Machokes), and Lorelei are all open to interacting with intelligent races outside of the Dome.
>>
>>33501067
We don't have planes.
>>
>>33500801
We went low key on our tech advantage for all of this time to avoid the terminally stupid, (read: curious) from following us due to the fact that the Dome would have them executed and then studied.
But then prof decides that we'll just tell them about our paradise where the streets are paved with gold/food/whatever. We are going to have an entourage following us back now. They will all die.
Jojo will probably want to come along to see us off or something.
;_;
>>
>>33501257
yeah. There's a fairly good chance the dome WOULD want visitors.

We just wanted to run it by the higher ups first, since there's also a chance they wouldn't, and having a whole expedition be turned away because they don't want to talk to them would be extremely embarrassing and expensive.
>>
>>33501327
Well, the fact of the matter is, we can't lead them into the Dome. The Indigo Reports are meant to be kept secret for now, after all. We'd need to reach Giovanni first to be debriefed.
>>
>>33501398
Yeah.
We have to be firm that we can lead them to a staging area near the dome, and we will come back to them later if the dome wants to do communications.

If they don't, well, they'll have to pack up and leave.
>>
You look down for a moment, feeling the pressure of their gazes upon you. Marine offers you a consoling look. She's be doing more talking if it wasn't for her lack of vocabulary.

“Umm... Lord Hrozai?” You turn to the tuskless concealed by a screen to your left. The shadow looking to you, granting a seemingly curious attention.

“Earlier, you mentioned something about allies... Do you want to be friends with Kanto City?” Your expression falters from an onset of shyness, your lips trembling a bit, and you fidget with your fingers to find some comfort.

Hrozai inclines his head to Hao, “I believe that our host may have an easier time of explaining this to you.” There's an amused chuckle in his voice, as he takes a drink.

You do to, watering yourself down, the berrywine warm in your tummy. Setting it down, “Lord Hao?”

The host takes a long drink from his cup before setting it down and standing, “We had thought about it for some time after your departure last we spoke... Should there be a City of Glass that still exists, we always had mind, questions of what we should or would do if the legends beg to be cast as history.” You can tell even without truthseeing that there's something wrong with what he's saying now and how he'd been over a week ago.
“We apologize for our overreaction as well as our demand for proof. Your heart is true, as the others can see. And we understand that should we join hands with a City of Glass, Smolder will no longer starve, Araraki will no longer be confined to a desert, and Kahkori, High and Low can live their lives in peace.”

There's a silence from the other representatives in the room. The Smolder's feel conflicted as whether they should speak out, or calmly oblige. The Araraki still say nothing, and you feel very little from their strange spirits now... Though you can tell that there is something of a turmoil within theirs.

The fat white ferryne representative raises a paw, “Ahn wot abowt meeow?”
>>
>>33501257
>>33501327
The Dome has had centuries, if not more to make contact with the rest of the world. Yet we never ever have, in-spite of trading with other Domes and world travel via magic mobile cloaking tech.
The Indigo Reports are merely suggestions for how to change internal Dome policy, not marching orders.

Lord Hao casts a quick and friendly gesture from beyond the shade, “As well as our ferryne friends, of course.”

“I'm sorry...” You say, bowing your head, feeling conflicted about this whole matter now. They want to come to the dome, but...

“Why would you be sorry? My dear White, is there anything the matter?”

Drawing in a breath, you shake your head and look up at him, your heart skipping a beat as you imagine how beautiful he must be from the last you saw him,” It's dangerous. We...” For a moment you turn away, not knowing exactly what to say.

Which is true. The dome doesn't really operate outside of groups it already knows, and when it does, it's a high level secret.

>The Dome has had centuries, if not more to make contact with the rest of the world. Yet we never ever have, in-spite of trading with other Domes and world travel via magic mobile cloaking tech.
Recent discovery. The Dome has only had 3 encounters with humanoid races. The land is big and there's no need to expand the Dome's borders because of its self-sufficiency, with Rangers bringing in materials when needed. The Kahkori, Smolder, and Araraki's islands are not a part of the regular trade route and the

There's a limit to what Ceru would know, but we can at least show that the Dome isn't literally paradise.

Also

We're military, not the people in charge of new citizens or negotiating alliances.

>>
Prof you railroading shithead, this is exactly why we didn't want to tell them the wonders of the dome.

How could you do something like this?
>>
>>33501671
Yeah. The dome isn't nearly as great as they're assuming.

Heck, genuine meat is a rarity there. I was baffled by how you people manage to get so much real live meat to eat out here. Then I saw how many people die during the hunts, and I was less baffled.
>>
>>33501671
Ceru has never really put any thought into our living spaces, so we don't really know if it's actually all that "restricted". Pewter is a pretty bad place to live in, though, for sure.

Same with the food. We went out to eat back in the Celadon mall, remember? We've got the wonders of fast food available to us. They're pretty delicious.
>>
>>33501713
>>33501671
Also isn't pretty much everyone employed in making the dome function? I didn't think we had big surpluses of crops.
>>
>>33501859
Yeah.
We produce about enough to keep ourselves going. Maybe a slight excess.

We might be able to help out with some technology support, but even that is iffy.
>>
>>33501779
We were eating pretty tasty synth-food, yeah.

But real meat was like, a luxury thing. We only got some out of the farfetched deal.
>>

We got fish, though. Fishing is Cerulean Quarter's specialty.

It's, uh, not really synth-food. Celadon Quarter grows crops.

>>
>>33502046

>>33502046
Very limited space. And we already have lots of people.
>>
>>33502073
Not that guy, but mentions of poverty in the pewter sector, the lack of meat, the extreme danger even nearby the dome, the difficulty with which our trade ships travel, and more stuff like that.

Dome's got problems.
>>
>>33502089
We know Pewter is bad, but we don't know the exact state of our own home in our Quarter. Since Cerulean lived there her whole life comfortably enough, she's never put any thought into whether or not it was bad. Pewter is the benchmark for crappy living spaces.

>>33502108
Yeah. Pewter. Which is the worst Quarter to live in that we know of.

We're not living purely on 'synth-food'. It hasn't even been mentioned that we do eat synth-food. We've got access to fish and vegetables.

The area around the Dome is burned down regularly to keep monsters away.

>the difficulty with which our trade ships travel
It was a freak storm.

Presumably, crops within the Dome are engineered to grow quickly.

The forest inside the Dome is kept as a test area for the cadets.

Ah, no, I think I can recall Sanna eating burgers.

>generally reduces available farmland.
This is outside the Dome's walls.
>>
>>33502108
I'd say pointing out the vast logistical difficulties in trading would be a big priority.
>>
>>33502254
I'd imagine the farming is done inside the dome, rather than outside it.
>>
“Well me, I'm nobody important. I'm just a ranger that fights for the dome and helps the people...” You smile piteously to yourself, and you feel Hao move closer to the edge of his shade.

“Nonsense.” He pushes the blinds away so that he is revealed to you, and you alone. The radiance of his being tingles you down into your flesh, tickling euphoria out of you in little goosebumps.

Your heart beats faster,” L-Lord Hao.” The words escape you in harried gasps.

The others quietly observe, your senses too flustered to make out their opinions of this.

“My dearest White, Your position is one of greatest importance, and especially one of great honor, resolve, and dignity. Should you claim that you are nobody... Why... I would tear my heart out here for all to see how it breaks and crumbles to those words.

“My lord.” Yasake begs attention, covering his eyes, “You are seen... Please, it is not our place to-”

“I decide what is, or isn't your place Yasake. Now look upon me as I declare this.” Hao commands, and Yasake silences his tripe at once.

Lord Hao, takes a knee before you, staring deeply into your eyes, giving you all the attention a girl could ask for.

He isn't... is he...

“My dearest White, since your refusal of me, I have neither been able to eat or sleep, drowning myself alone in drink to fuel my tears. I apologize from the depths of my being, and before leaders of the empire beside my brother. It was not my place to demand such from one so beautiful and pure.” He reaches out to you, his palm up, asking for your hand.

“Could you ever possibly forgive me?”

“Lord Haooo, Why are you giving Ceru so much attention?” Marine wines, squirming in her chair. “I'm the one that loves you more...”

There's a feminine laugh from beside her,”Oh, little fish. I'll take care of you if Hao won't grant you favor...”

“ENOUGH!” A roar bellows through the room, silencing the crude display of the manipulative nobles.
Yet it is not a Smolder. Kurojo stands from his seat, staring at Lord Hao with nothing but rage in his eyes. The Kahkori representative by his side seems to have gone nearly white with fear.
“My Lord,” He inclines his head and replaces himself upon his seat, the rage in his heart scarcely past, “I believe your other quests have seen quite enough of this farce. Do you not agree, Huntmaster?”

Nala's lip twitches as she holds back a slight grin.
>>
>>33503755

Infernus looms over the table staring down, a low rumbling growl, “The apprentice is right. We have not come from our lands to watch you flirt with a cub.” He sits squarely in his chair, crossing his arms over, “And to be frank, we have more to worry about in the prospect of her return. She comes from across the seas, yes? How do you propose we cross them when Leviathans, and Samehada impede our ships in open water?”
>>
>>33503775
yeah this is a sort of pressing question.

We were PLANNING on just making a boat out of all the strongest monsters but, well, that's sort of a desperate move.
>>
>>33503775

Hao hastily returns to his shade, giving you one final wink that melts your heart before he closes his personal shade. “If she is here, then there must be a way there. A simple matter of fact. Doors oft go two ways.”

“And death goes one. If you have an idea, we are open to hear of it, yet for now the Smolders of Cruorcibal have no interest.” Infernus rises from his seat, and makes to leave, “If you will excuse me.”

“Same for the Smolder of Melfurna, we have hungry mouths to feed, not to send to the jaws of distortion.” Janlon leaves as well.

“Death is a one way door, Lord Hao.” Nala nods, and also leaves.

The Araraki speak for the first time in this meeting, “We would like to speak to White in private, if it please lord.” The Masked lizard bows its head, iridescent eyes unblinking as they glow within the shadows of their masks.
You shiver at the sight of these Araraki. They seem... different. Old...

Kurojo's aura still simmers.

I guess now is the time to hear araki explain themselves proper, and then try to let them down easy about the domes.
>>

Me, I was hoping we'd go for a Dratini/Horsea graft, kept the Remoraid, and just keep refusing to evolve into Dragonite.

I think evil airbender nihilist Henry Rollins is a neat idea too but the last two main villains disappointments burned me out.

As far as we know, Akabaron has acted alone. Each of the Smolder leaders govern their people individually, without interference from the others.

Akabaron is the only one looking for a Smolder engineer who's interested in creating a device to help a ship travel across the sea without need for waves. The other Smolder leaders either don't know of this or are keeping mum, as was what Akabaron wanted.

non of these fucks can be trusted, especially the kahkoris. we've already told them more than we wished to. we can only salvage what's left from the situation and deny any advances they make, get back to the dome by our own two feet (and limited help from akabaron), make marine swear an oath of secrecy, and contact the boss, confide everything in private including our noted observations of the current political situation surrounding the Ararakis-Kahkoris-Smolodhan.

IF we take Kurojo along, if only as proof of our words, make it very clear to him that we are not responsible for what decisions our Boss takes, even if it inconveniences him or his race/land, and we have no say in it.

I'm all hands for a righteous PURGING on all the disgusting xeno who thinks they can take advantage of us because we're a little girl and can be easily manipulated. Seeing the PURGING from Kurojo's eyes only fuels my hate boner more.

Feeling more yourself, you give Lord Hao a lingering look, as you turn, nodding to the Araraki. “I know of one of you... Yes, there are some things that I'd like to ask.”

The desolate gaze of the Araraki's shining eyes is unnerving, as though they're here, but not entirely. “We speak much better than the child. Come to the District of Bones and ask for the Old Ones. For now. We depart.” The Lizards each rise in perfect unison.
“Lord Hao.” They speak as one and bow their heads, disappearing in the next moment.

With them gone, the other tuskless visibly shudder beyond their shades.

“Dreadful creatures, those Araraki... Why do we not have the smolders wipe them out again?”

“Silence.” Lord Hao's composure returns to that befitting of royalty. “It seems our actions have rendered this dinner at a bitter note... My dearest, would you visit me tomorrow?”

You try to avoid eye contact, to hide you blush, to avert yourself from his intentions, “Tell Yasa-”

A loud slam rings throughout the room. Kurojo's standing again, in a martial stance, his fist buried in the wood of the table.
He adjusts, taking on a more curt, and proper demeanor, “A fly... I had thought, Lord Hao...” Everyone stares at him in a heavy silence. “I believe that White would appreciate an escort out.”

“Ah, yes.... Yes, I would.” You stand abruptly, nearly falling backwards as you hurry away from the table.

“Is that so?” Lord Hao states blandly as if it were the most dreadful thing in the world. You can tell that he's staring down Kurojo from beyond that screen. “And what of her companion? Lady Ultramarine?” He whisks his arm to the one he refers.

Marine begins to say something, yet Lady Azura cuts her off, “Oh, I'll take care of this one... She's so cute I could just eat her up...”
>>
“Meeow Lowrd. Mee Liiike theshe. Fliwrt weeth pheesh meore?” The fat white ferrinesays with an unreadable expression. “You eesh made weeth pheesh, yeeeeesh?” His eyes flicker between you and Marine.
You couldn't quite understand what he's trying to say.

Kurojo takes you by the arm, giving you some form of security, “Shall we, White?”

Without another word, you nod, and hug him closer, your body shivering besides itself as you get away from Hao's influence. You almost forget to look back at Marine.

“My, you are indeed the most interesting, lovely thing.” Azura muses.

Marine giggles from within the shade,”N-no... You're amazing.. You're as pretty as Hao.”

The tusked Kahkori leader stands to beg Hao forgiveness...

Pulling at Kurojo's arm, you bid him to stop, looking back to the lingering dinner guests, “Marine, come on. We need to go- now.”

“But she's only arrived so soon...” You hear the sound of kissing from the screen. Marine giggles.

Lord Hao offers a little laugh. Lord Hrozai says nothing, simply stroking his chin in contemplation.

“But Cerulean~ I want to stay!” Marine laughs from the screen, her voice making weird sounds, as Azura's shadow mixes with hers.

“Oh? Is that her real name? I've read of a town like that once... Isn't that right Hao?” Azura muses, littering your friend with another series of kisses. You blush deeply at that... What is she doing?

You pull away from Kurojo, and he grabs your arm again, leaning in close to whisper, “They won't hurt her. They don't do that. But unless you want to end up the same way, we need to leave now Ceru...” He pulls away. His eyes flicking to the head of the table, “Hao's watching.”

This much can be done outside of Charm Aura's radius.

“Why? What makes you so scared?” He lets you slip away, turning his attention upon Marine, who's already steaming from the ears, “Perhaps your lovely friend may tell us?”

YOU WORRY US YGG
>>
You hold yourself by Kurojo, weighing your options with a heavy heart. You grab him by the sleeve of his disjointed kimono and look him in the eye, “Jojo. She's one of us. We can't just leave her here. It isn't right.”

He tenses up, but he does need and stays by your side as you turn to face Hao and the others. The Kahkori leader continues to beg forgiveness beside him. The fragrance of alcohol and other aromas fill the room. For a moment Marine screams, but then she's muted hastily.

You tremble besides yourself at whatever torture your friend's being subject to. You cannot leave without her.

“Hao, I am Marine's senior in the Rocket rangers, she's my grunt as boss would say.” You feel his full attention on you, his shade leaning forward and you shudder. “And... and I would have her do as I say... Or it... would be an in-insult to the dome.”

“My, my... So it is true that you -are- somebody after all. How convenient now, isn't it?” Hao chuckles, rolling his wine, his facade over with to an extent. “Now that you've made that clear, I must wonder what kind of leader can't control her own people... My dear White- Cerulean.” He rolls your name upon his tongue and it makes you quiver, falling to your knees with a flushed breath. Kurojo reaches for you, right by your side, yet Yasake slips in like a streak of greased lightning to pull him back.

“I'd rather you now interrupt my lord's audience with Lady White. It could prove unreasonable for your safety.” Yasake breaths.

Marine screams again, falling into a series of giggles.

“What... what are you doing to her?” You breath restlessly, your tail wrapping up the front of your body defensively as you feel yourself leaking.
>>
“Just blowing off some steam, dear White...” Azura cackles from beyond her screen. “Dealing with those brutish smolodhans is so dreadful. No class, no pleasure... Just honor and thinly veiled secrets. Acting like we can't tell that they're up to something.”

“Up... to...”

Hao rises, opening his screen. The White Cat laughs. The Kahkori leader covers his eyes, and retreats.
“Singer, can you sing a little song for him?” Hao's request is more a command, and one of the band breaks away to whisper sing-song words into the ear of the leader. Listening to it makes you feel drowsy, the leader falls asleep.
“The Smolodhans, Smolders as they prefer to be called- as a proper tribe, seem to be hiding something from us... I've also been made aware...” Hao steps from his screen, walking slowly towards you, Kurojo held back by Yasake.

“Ceru... Ceru... Run!” He gags out

Your legs tremble, and you're unable to move. The floor beneath you is covered in water.

“The day after you made your little declaration and that Yasake reported your lie, I did some investigating.” Hao draws closer, bathing you in his saccharine aura, ridding your mind of all that bothersome resistance and mild loathing that should be there. You hold your tail close, writhing in futility.
“During your evolution period in which you metamorphosed into the beautiful creature that kneels before me, Akabaron left upon a ship destined for Smelda. Captained by one pirate by the name of Dovahki.”
“Can you guess why I'd call that miserable cur a pirate?”

“N-no... L-lord Hao...” You whine, how can he look at you like that... So stern and serious. Such command...

“Because she carts around Smolodhans to wherever she has the charts for. No authorization. I heard about the incident on Swamport island, the Tropius shot down by the dead Juraik.”

“Oh, why would he leave in such a hurry after he'd only just returned?” Azura cries out amidst her torturing of Marine.

“No! No- stop... Pleaaaasse.” Marine cries out, as she thrashes from beyond the curtain.

Hao looms over you, looking you over and down, as you sit in a puddle, staring back up at him. “Now, why do you think he'd leave so quickly?”

Threat? Or a boast? Whichever. Anything to get their attention off of this.

Although Slyph Co. is the government, the Elite 4 seem like they'd be widely respected. Would it not be incorrect to say that Ceru would be something like a princess in the Dome, Prof? Even if she's just treated as a regular soldier (although a prized one, at that).
>>
>>33507089
I really hope neither gross nor arousing is true.

I choose to believe we just are leaking from one of our armguns.

To the anon who said 'its normal to have ranks in the guild, so it's okaty to pull rank!' and tried to counter my argument, this is what you've
wrought. Units are also a part of them, we've just released the fact that we 're from some high ranking unit, the Rockets, and have limited. Auhority over Rangers. Thanks, asshole. We've been doing nothing but playing into their hands this entire time, slowly giving up detail after detail. They're not idiots, they can easily piece together the facts. I'm out.
>>
>>33507101
>>33507089
I don't think that's actually very true or very relevant.

That's actually entirely untrue, as we don't have any official rank over marine and are just assuming some as the oldest current rocket in the field.
>>
>>33507111
No? Are you an idiot?

You had no argument. Being her leader doesn't change anything that's been said. But I guess that doesn't matter since you're just spazzing out since you have nothing intelligible to contribute.

Nothing of what you said actually follows, though? We're her field leader, and that's it. Nothing else you said could be extrapolated.

Us taking over for Lorelei? Oh, no, that's just a boast. But we're aiming for it, right? Nothing wrong with that. As for it not being relevant, well, that's the reason I suggested it. It's an attempt to deflect them.

Ugh, I don't like this whole situation Especially since, well, we were telling the damn truth when we said we were nobody important. They should have felt that.

>>
>>33506967
Honestly, I think we should just be concerned for marine at this point.

>>
>>33507481
Hm. They're both true, to an extent? On us becoming one of the Elite 4, that would be based on our conviction? Since it's not a guaranteed truth, but it's a possibility we're reaching out for hard.
>>
>>33507539
well, both us not being important AND us being in charge of marine are true.

We're low ranking rockets, but we're higher ranking rockets than marine.
>>
Your head is swimming, and you tighten your legs together even more, sucking up a runaway sliver of drool. Pulling together thoughts from your rose-tinted shades, you come up with something to deflect this line of questioning.

“I-I'm my mother's girl...” Your eyes flutter, and Hao seems sincerely confused for the moment. “Lorelei... My mom's Lorelei of- of the Elite Four...”
“One day... I-I'm going to be part of the Elite Four... like her.”

You speak your words drearily as though a haze clouds your mind. Yet Hao seems to pause, staring at you intently,”Elite... Four?”

“Yeah... they're super strong...”

“Lorelei?”

“Mommy. She's an ice ranger.” You giggle like a little girl, and Hao backs off, seemingly stunned by something.

“No, that isn't right... But you... You have red hair like her... How could... Lorelei?” Hao places a knuckle against his lips, the other arm crossed underneath as he returns to a seat, pouring a goblet of wine.

“My lord?” Yasake seems startled by Hao's sudden change in behavior, slacking in his restraint of Kurojo.

“Release the boy. He's free to leave. This is interesting...”

Hrozai strokes his chin, “Yes. That is an odd pair of names.

You feel the pressure of the aura fall, and your head's less muddy. Looking down, you realize how badly you wet yourself, grimacing.

“Worry not, my servants will take care of that.” Hao sips from his goblet. “Still, it is strange that you mention Lorelei and the Elite Four..” Hao seems concerned, his entire demeanor changed once again,”Stranger still that you do not lie, yet something else is so very wrong.”
>>
Wrong? “What's wrong?” You summon up the strength to stand, and find yourself staring into the eerie eyes of the white Ferrine.

It smiles at you, grinning wide, “Pheesh...” The annoying thing says again, and you bat it out of the way, forcing it into a roll in which it eventually grinds to a halt.

“What's wrong?” Hao absently swirls wine about his cup, staring off into the distance, with a slightly amused smirk upon his face.

“Why, what's wrong is that Lorelei is dead. The Elite Four was in our records from a thousand years ago. If what you say is true, then you're the daughter of a dead woman... Yet you have her red hair... Your mother has it as well, yes? What does your mother look like?”

“I...”

Ok here's the thing. You would assume that most if not all records of the time before the apocalypse happened were lost during said apocalypse. We do not have access to pokeballs after all. Or any of the old pokeworld tech.

So what this mean is that the Tuskless have had world traversing power for over 1000 years, were able to connect with the Domes, knew wehre they were and YET they didnt see the Smolder rise to power on their own islands or try to harness them until a brutal war 200ish years ago caused much destruction and such. Thats a severe discontent in both terms of power projection AND fore-sight. And they somehow lost all of their records or some such shit. And they lost the ability to traverse the Sharpedo infested seas as well.
This doesnt make any sense at all.

They're limited to their islands because of the waves.

Their records would have been kept by scholars.

The Smolder were discovered as they expanded their Empire's borders.

They're stuck on the islands. How they got there is a mystery. Either the ocean tides changes over time and they were trapped there or they were traveling by sea and got caught up in the island's tides and trapped there. Remember that all the Kahkori used to look more human, apparently, and that the mutations some of them have went through (the tusked) may have been a result of something present within the ecosystem of the islands.

Uh, presumably, humanity still existed when the Domes were set up. They were probably just the unfortunates who didn't get to go into the Domes.

They don't have records of the "current" Domes. They have records of the Domes, period. They don't know of the ones currently still up.

>From a closed off, paranoid society that doesn't trust outsiders or reveal their presence to them as a rule of law there.
The Dome doesn't distrust "outsiders". They assume there AREN'T any outsiders except monsters. From what we know, the Dome isn't trying to deliberately hide its existence from mutant humans (although I suspect there's a possible story snag there); just from wild and dangerous monsters. It made no attempt to contact any other humans aside from other Domes because it did not believe any other humans survived outside of the Dome.
>>

>>
>>33508828
>not trusting alexis
You gotta have a few trustworthy espers.
>>
>>33508815
Actually there's a large amount of xenophobia inherent within normal dome society, with the way rangers are treated simultaneously as military officials and second-class citizens. Human purism is totally a thing. How do you think they'd feel about people who were -born- mutants?
>>
>>33508828
>I would like to see what thread it was stated in that the Domes were up before the apocalypse.
It's the same thing with Attack on Titan. The Walls were built and humanity fled to them.

It's not that they were up before the Apocalypse. It's that they were up AS the Apocalypse happened. Remember, these mutations don't happen all at once. The tusked Kahkori, for example, are deviations from the tuskless. So, presumably, it was something that happened to the Kahkori later on during their history as tribal races.
>>
>>33508847
I think they'd shake hands with them through a very thick glove.

Capitalism is strong in the dome.
>>
>>33508847
Rangers aren't treated as second-class citizens. People are afraid of them, however.

And there you go. You're actually forgetting that Rangers are citizens of the Dome too and will be the ones who would be handling relations along with Silph Co.
>>
>>33508847
Sabrina is a puritan, but regular citizens are just afraid.
>>
>>33508899
And it's kind of valid.
Rangers sort of have loaded guns with their trigger fingers glued to them on their person at all times.

>>
>>33508858
Ok then if that is the case why dont we have records of pokeball, the previous era poketech and all of the other stuff that our grand ancestors had? If you have that kind of tech and you simply go into hiding then you should keep the records of that tech. But no we not only DONT have that tech we have no knowledge of that tech and hell no knowledge, other than myth and tale of, of the previous age. This indicates a total loss of continuity between the civilizations.

SO i must ask again, what the hell is the history of the Domes, that we know about? I would like a framework that isnt baseless speculation.
>>
>>33508934
You know, there's always the possibility that our dome specifically had its histories scrubbed more than the outside world did.
>>
>>33508934
Why are you asking irrelevant questions?

They simply had records of the Dome. Why are you spazzing out so hard over it?

As for why don't we don't know what pokeballs apparently are; you don't know if they know what pokeballs are either. You don't know if it was intentionally erased by the Dome leadership to remove any ambition of trying to recreate the tech. You don't know. But that's all irrelevant to them having records of the Domes' existence.
>>
>>33508946
Then why hasnt Hoenn Dome give us pokeball tech, or we haven't heard anything about it from them? What about Sinnoh Dome? Johto Dome?

If none of these Domes have this tech then the civilization doesn't have this tech, IE it was lost. It has been lost for thousands of years, this is a clear break between the Old World and our new one.
>>
>>33508976
I think it's probably a plot hole of no real significance, if you are still talking about the thousand year old information.

It'll be handwaved away with finding an ancient record or something.
>>
>>33508934
Pokeballs are lost technology. Forget about it. We have no myths or tales of the "previous age" except for our religion. And how have the answers you've been given not satisfactory? They're all reasonable. Stop getting so frustrated over not knowing why there's a gap in history. That has nothing to do with why the Kahkori would know about the Domes; it's a completely separate issue.
>>
>>33508976
Gee. It's almost as if some sort of cataclysmic event happened that led to the lost of powerful technology and the need to create Domes to flee into.
>>
>>33508975
Im asking these questions because this shit doesn't make any sense to me.
Point 1: The islanders have records that are not corrupted by the thousand years, of our homes in the Domes, both People and places.
Point 2: The Domes are, as far as we know, Totally unaware of outside civilizations, so much so that the Indigo Reports are literally the first reports of these places and offer the opinion on how to peacefully interact with them.
Point 3: There is a clear and definitive break between our current civilization (The Domes) and the Old World. During such a break few if any records were kept and those records would probably be in the Domes themselves.

So my question is, how can the Islanders have data on our current civilization, when as far as we know, we have never given out data on our homes and lives, etc. After all it is hard to imagine that the Old World records would have not been lost when so much was, especially we were taught NOTHING about them, ever. They would have mentioned shit like pokeball, the PCs and other such shit. So where the hell do these magic records come from?
>>
>>33509124
The question actually is why our current leaders have the same name as thousands of year old leaders.

It's easy to think of ways the islanders could have figured out basics like important people. They have a far wider exploration range than the domes tend to, and could easily have found a shipping log or newspaper or something in the ancient times, and kept accurate copies.
>>
>>33509124
>Point 1: The islanders have records that are not corrupted by the thousand years, of our homes in the Domes, both People and places.
It's written down? The tusked Kahkori in Kurojo's village had written down records of airplanes.

It's a mystery.

>The Domes prevent inside from mutating
>Everyone outside mutated
>The Dome leaders would not want anyone inside going outside

And all you get is material to speculate with.

And, also, irrelevant to why the islanders would have records of the Domes existence.
>>
>>33509156
They never leave the island, due to the Sharpedoes and other horrible Colossi of the deep that are everywhere in the oceans beyond the Shelf these island sit upon. SO no these islands don't have that much of an exploration range. So then how, do the birds of all people, have these records. Id except the Smolders to have them if anything due to the fact that they are an inventive species and would actually try to pull shit like that, as opposed to the hyper-traditionalist Kahkori.
>>
>>33509206
>They never leave the island, due to the Sharpedoes and other horrible Colossi of the deep that are everywhere in the oceans beyond the Shelf these island sit upon.
They never leave the islands because their boats cannot travel without the use of waves.

Why do they have records? The answer is clear. They did not spontaneously start existing on the islands. They're humans who mutated.
>>
>>33509206
>hyper traditionalists
>NOT having ancient records preserved intact
>>
>>33509206
>Id except the Smolders to have them if anything
Why wouldn't they have records?

The only ones who've become delusional religious are the Araraki, but it's sure that they'd have their history noted down too somewhere, although it's up in the air whether they write it down (on leather?) or pass it on by word.

You seem to be applying "common sense" to a world with magical flying time monsters and brain melting chicken men.

>>33510020
You seem to not actually have an argument here, other than vague insults.
>>
>>33509993
He's saying that your idea is dumb. And it is. Let me explain why.

You don't know how to tell a story.
>>
>>33510034

I don't like time travel, but taking it off the table because you think it would make a bad story is profoundly stupid. You're not writing it.
>>
>>33510030
I don't need an argument because it's self-evident and easy to understand why.

Your "idea" is Soap Opera level. Shitty Soap Opera level. It's horribly kitschy.
>>
>>33510055
So your argument is that you don't like it, and thus it won't happen.
>>
>>33510049
Take it off the table because of that. It's as dumb an idea as, say, Nala suddenly turning out to be our distant cousin.

>>33510055
>"It couldn't have happened because I don't like it"

Unless your Dran, your personal opinion doesn't care any real weight

>>33510060
yep, that seems to be their entire argument at this point.
>>
>>33510060

>My idea isn't that I don't like it so it won't happen!

>>
>>33510117

>>
>>33510114

>>33510117
You have no reason to think it. You put too much weight on your own theory and you end up believing that you actually have any evidence to back you up.

It's the same thing with that guy who thought it was a Kadabra sneaking in the Dome when he was repeatedly given evidence why it wasn't and started screaming bloody murder at everyone who disagreed with him.
>>
>>33510144
you've not actually given any evidence.
You've just shouted insults and been belligerent.

And all the opposing side are saying is that it is within the realm of possibility.

Which is pretty much impossible for you to discount, so your only recourse is insults.
>>
>>33510137
I don't want it to happen. But it didn't happen.

Why? Index. Easy.

>>33510156

>>
>>33510153

Without actually stating why it's possible.
>>
>>33510176
>no evidence

Which you ignore entirely and instead spout deviantart shit.

So basically,
>>33510060
>>
>>33510170

Then consider what this
>>33510176

>>33510184
Time travel exists. And so? The blackout is not indicative of anything except us blacking out from being tired out by the waves.
>>
>it couldn't have happened!
>why
>because it's poor writing

So ceru wetting herself was good writing?
>>
>>33510184
You have no evidence. You have no proof and you're grasping at straws like a snotty child. You can't actually even explain why those things mean we time traveled reasonably.
>>
>>33510176
It's within the ream of possibility because we know for a fact that time travel is possible. Because things that travel through time exist. Things that we know can travel through time, and are known TO travel through time. Have I said this enough for you to understand, or do I need to keep going?
>>
>>33510214
At this point you basically admit defeat by refusing to acknowledge the plot hook hao dropped at the end of the thread, and instead resorting to insults.
>>33510199
You're ignoring the thousand year coincidence too.

Willful ignorance and all.
>>
>>33510215
That's where having common sense comes into play. It's possible to spontaneously combust in real life, so why aren't you spontaneously combusting right now if it's possible? It's because there are actually solid reasons why that happens. And so it follows with writing stories.
>>
>>33510215
I think it's just a troll, at this point.
I mean, they can't be so dense as to ignore the thousand year thing this many times.
Prof could easily turn that into a plot piece.

>>33510232
See? Their arguments entirely rely around disregarding evidence and using their own faulty common sense.

>>33510228
>You can't actually even explain why those things mean we time traveled reasonably.
Pay attention, anon.

I didn't really ignore it. It's simple. Someone had the name Lorelei thousands of years ago and she had red hair. Easy. You can't connect that to time travel, though, because nothing has happened to indicate it ever having happened.
>>
>>33510232
>>>33510215 (You)
>That's where having common sense comes into play. It's possible to spontaneously combust in real life, so why aren't you spontaneously combusting right now if it's possible? It's because there are actually solid reasons why that happens. And so it follows with writing stories.

This bit of stupidity. It'd be really nice if you could actually follow your own arguments, but I guess we can't have nice things. Instead we have you.

>>33510214

So let me get this straight.

Someone worries that the QM might pull some time travel bullshit. With cited reasons why they won't like it like "I don't think it would be good writing, and it wouldn't make much sense, and it would rely on plot bullshit pokemon"

and your counterargument to this is...
It can't happen because that's bad writing?
The exact same thing the prior anons are fearing and worried about?

>>
>>33510331
Nobody mentioned that this entire conversation though, and the proponents of the time travel thing claimed they didn't like it at all, but that it could very well happen anyway, so they worry.
>>
>>33510323
It's bad writing. There's no evidence for it. Can you think of any evidence for it? There's no sign of it ever having happened or it being possible.
>>
>>33510348
see
>>33507662
>>33507674
Please don't make claims that there is no evidence when there is one piece of evidence in this very thread.

Instead say there is LITTLE evidence. Because that is actually true. It's an extremely improbably turn of events, but there is a single hint towards it at this point, which is why people worry.

Especially since ygg was apparently talking about time travel earlier.
>>
>>33510348
So your argument remains that you don't think it could happen because it would be bad writing and wouldn't make much sense.
The exact same thing I am worrying about.
>>
>>33510348
>There's no sign of it ever having happened or it being possible.
Much wow, such troll. Cerebi and Dialga exist in this setting. Time Travel is possible. I am not saying it happened, so don't strawman me by going "it's possible but you can't prove it did happen so therefor it's not possible". I'm just saying that time travel is possible in the setting, and you seem to keep assuming that by that I mean I'm 100% certain that Ceru traveled through time. I'm not saying that, I'm saying that every time you say that time travel isn't possible and that there is no proof that it even exists in setting is false. Because time travel does exist in setting. The ability to travel through time is a power that exists in setting. This is all I am saying. I don't know if Ceru time traveled. But time travel does exist. Ceru may not have time traveled. But Time Travel EXISTS. ok?
>>
>>33510404
Yeah.
The worry is all it takes is one plot pokemon to render us forever removed from the dome.

>>
This thread is still up? Slow day on /tg/

Why did we not point out that the Dome is not paradise? Interruption or no, not saying so only makes things worse. Rumours circulate and misinformation is spread, especially after a social gathering.
>>
>>33511897
Because Dran wouldn't let us. We told everyone about the Dome, in detail, apparently, in spite of the fact that we had tried, for like 10 threads to not tell anyone anything about where we were from, who we really were. But now, people know. Word will spread, and adventurers will go hunting for our home. They will probably be killed for their actions. But that's whatever.

I, personally, am more worried about the fact the Jojo is probably going to try and follow us home. And get killed for doing so.
