A lot had changed in your home city while you were out on your mission of vengeance in the easternmost part of the known world. The wasp-woman and her cult of Pazuzu attacked the city in your absence, wrecked part of the great pyramid, and stole what was left of Ku-Aya. A new monster was created and destroyed. Many were killed, and you're told that the Sand Priest was one of them. Since it's the Sand Priest, though, you suppose you'll never be completely sure.

Now you're relaxing with Nakurtum in her room, playing with her black kitten, who seems quite unafraid of you and just wants to bat at your claws.

"Anything else I should know about?" you ask to Nakurtum as she hangs up the new weapons she was showing off to you.

"Oh yeah, the king got betrothed."

"It's about time! Who's he going to marry?"

"Some weirdo from the City of Exiles. I guess all the other cities around here are too wary of us to cement an alliance like that."

"Yeah... it doesn't even look like Zagros will let me marry Hillallum just because they can't decide where we'd live afterward. People are dumb. Anything else?"

"Well, the Adventurers' School keeps asking me to help train their new meat. Apparently they didn't do so well in the battle, and it's affected their reputation."

"Do you want to?"

"Even if I were allowed, I don't know how much good I'd do. I mean, they really need to learn how to fight monsters. Hey, maybe you could try sparring with them some time!"

> "Sounds fun."
> "I don't wanna make any promises I can't keep. I'm gonna have a lot to do."
> "Nah, I don't think I trust them. Now where's Mr. Clicks?"

"Sounds fun!"

Nakurtum laughs and nods. "Now, they're not all gonna be nice kids like you. These are kids who want to kidnap and murder for a living. They're gonna be brats, like I was. So don't go too easy on them."

"I'll try. And it could help me learn how to deal with people without killing them, maybe."

"Good luck, kiddo. Coming back for dinner?"

"Yep!"

You check your room. The mattresses have been laid out neatly and all the loose straws cleaned up, and your modest assortment of clothes and trinkets is all in place, but Mr. Clicks' cage is gone without a trace. You panic for a moment and go looking for him. Kullaa doesn't have him, though she's happy to see you. Rabi-Tammuz doesn't have him either, though you're kind of grateful for that.

You eventually find him in the small room that Puzur-Lama, your new maid, has taken for herself. With no giant scorpion to look after, she's assumed the duty of feeding the little tiny scorpion instead. "Oh! You're back!"

"You have Mr. Clicks." Puzur-Lama is your friend, and the two of you sort of grew up together, but Mr. Clicks clearly comes first.

"Mhmm!" She shows of his cage. "Here by the window. I think he likes being able to get some sun."

You open the cage and let Mr. Clicks crawl up your arm. "Have you been a good boy?" you ask. "Yes, you missed your mummy, didn't you? I'm sorry, I had to help save the world and stuff."

Puzur-Lama keeps her distance, still a little wary of Mr. Clicks crawling free. "So, now that you're back... will you be needing anything? What do you have to do next?"

In order of priority-to-us
1:
> "First I have to go check on Hillallum and all his soldiers. I hope they haven't left already."
Tell him goodbye, and that we had a lot of fun hanging out with him, and that we hope we can visit again one day.
2:
> "I have to go to the palace and make sure the king knows all about Pazuzu. I've told him before, but he's been known to forget things..."
Gotta check in on our pazuzu-holding little girl prisoner. Tell her she did great defending the city.
and 3:
> "I could help train some Adventurers, I guess."

Though, before all that, ask her how she's been here. We wanted to have her paint out shell at some point in the future, when we have some down time. Maybe before bed?
>>
>>33611031

> Have a word with the king
Hillalum and his forces probably wouldn't leave without saying goodbye to the leader of the city anyway. And then:

> "I could help train some Adventurers, I guess."
After beating the stuffing out of them, hopefully:
> "You guys need to get stronger, just like I did. The best way to do that is with manual labor. You're going to help rebuild the pyramid during the day and train in the evenings."

We should kind of check on Iltani too

"First I have to go check on Hillallum and all his soldiers. I hope they haven't left already."

Your maid nods and smiles as you put Mr. Clicks back in his cage and she latches it shut again. "You like him, don't you? The other scorpion-person. The one from the west."

"Oh, he's mine. People just won't admit it yet."

"Oh... okay. Well, be careful!"

"You too. Don't let them turn you into anything."

She blushes. "I'll try not to!"

You leave the pyramid and ask some citizens if they've seen Hillallum or his men. You hear that they were allowed inside the city walls, and you find them scattered and enjoying downtime in the market square near the palace. Some of the men have gone off to gamble or spend some time with the sacred harlots that are famously absent in their home city. Hillallum is trying to convince a street vendor to accept payment for the ten or twelve skewers of meat he's holding in one claw.

Hillallum puts some coins on the booth's counter for the second or third time. "There's really no need! I have money! We're not an occupying force foraging from towns we go through! Please, just take it!"

The cook waves the money away. "What, I can't give a gift to an important personage such as yourself? All I ask is to be remembered fondly."

"But, I... Gahh!"

You produce some coin of your own and give it to the man with a steely glare. "Take it. Now."

"Yes, Lady Scorpion! Enlil's blessings upon you!"

Hillallum is already blushing just a little blue under his brown skin from this display, even before you give him a hug firm enough to crush a mere human into paste. This, of course, makes him blush even more.

"You're going home soon, aren't you?" you ask.

"Well... I have to escort our heroes home. We've been gone so long already..."

"You'd better come back soon."

"Or what?"

"Or I'll come for you instead."

"Oh. That wouldn't be so bad..."

"No, it wouldn't. They may be trying to keep us apart, but that's not going to happen. I won't allow it."

"I didn't think you would." He smiles a little. "Goodbye, Hunzuu. I learned a lot from you."

"So did I." You ruffle his hair, pat him on the back, and take one of his skewers of lamb. "No tears now. You'll see me again soon."

"Yes, ma'am..."

You straighten your hair, wipe some grease off your lip, and leave the market to see the king. The great heavy doors open for you. Fawning courtiers offer you rare meats both raw and cooked as they explain that the king and his betrothed are getting themselves ready to hold court and have a look at you. When you are finally given permission to squeeze through the ornamented doors that lead from the antechamber into the throne room, you see the king in all his finery, with a longer beard than you remember, more like his late father's. His betrothed is lounging on a long bench off to his left. She's a strange-looking woman to say the least, with a stripe of white mud across the bridge of her nose, white hair that doesn't match her youthful face, and yellow eyes.

The king rises and turns his hands upward. "Hail, Hunzuu, protector of Ligish. The people rest easier knowing you have returned. I am told that you succeeded in aiding the people of Zagros and fostering good will between our cities. What may the crown do for you in return?"

> "You can release Iltani. Now. Please. She's good. If she were bad, she'd have escaped your dungeons by now."

You have to hold back all the nasty things you want to say. You promised Iltani she wouldn't be locked up again if she was good. Now you feel like that promise has ben broken for you while you were gone. "You can release Iltani. Now. Please. She's good. If she were bad, she'd have escaped your dungeons by now."

The king hesitates. "I... I appreciate that fact. It would be within my power to pardon her for all her kidnappings and murders. But it is beyond my power to make the people of Ligish forgive her. You remember a time, only a year ago, when Ligish almost tore itself apart, in no small part because of her. If she were freed, the Archers and Slingers would be at each other's throats again, everyone would hate the Footmen and the priesthood again, and everyone would forget that our true enemies are out there beyond the walls, waiting to strike when we are weakest. I believe that she has reformed, but that doesn't matter. Your warning about the pieces of Pazuzu is the only reason I haven't executed her. She is not being mistreated. But I cannot let her walk openly in Ligish again."

The king furrows his brow. "But you understand the risks. Tell me you do."

"I do."

"I won't pardon her. That will be as bad as letting her walk around freely. But the pyramid kept her safely out of the public eye for months. Perhaps I can have some other girl executed in her place, and that will be the end of it. You can send her out of Ligish, or keep her under house arrest, or anything else that doesn't start another war. Would that be acceptable?"

"Uh, yes. Thank you? I don't believe we've met."

"No, you wouldn't have," says the king. "Allow me to introduce Tasmit, my betrothed. The people of the Deathless Delta have been our most constant allies in these difficult years, and it was about time I ensured that the royal bloodline would continue, don't you think?"

THEORY TIME

The centaurs are able to be reincarnated via their remains and a blood ritual since in the land of the dead they can outrun the warden.
The scorpy people can't do this since they aren't fast enough to outrun Ligish even if someone tried the resurrection blood ritual.

The answer? Get the pieces of Pazuzu, reassemble them in the underworld, hold hope tight that Pazuzu then engages in an eternal fight with the goddess of the Underworld instead of killing scorpies.
This would allow the scorpy people to be reincarnated since they can now escape the reach of the underworld's goddess. Assuming that their remains remain.
>>
>>33613301

"It's nice to meet you, Tasmit. I don't know your people very well, but I do have a good friend who spent some time with them."

"Meluku, yes. He's very important. Take good care of him. He is a wonder like no form of magic has ever produced before. His potential is limitless. The names of things do not apply to him."

"I'm not sure what tat means."

"Nor do I. But I am excited to find out."

"I can bring him over to visit some time if you like. But first, I would like to see Jaya and Kiresh. Are they still here?"

The king nods. "I thought you would. I have told them to make themselves presentable. Shall I have you shown to their quarters?"

You are led up some stairs and duck under some low ceilings and doorways until you find the guest suite they're staying in. Jaya is all done-up in silks and silver ornaments she didn't have before. Kiresh is still drowsing off in a corner under a pile of sheets, and you think you see a human form in there with him.

Jaya takes your claw excitedly. "You have returned! Did you see his majesty? Did he say anything of me?"

Jaya is smiling for the first part of your report, but toward the end her expression deadens. Her lips tighten, and her eyes water just a little. "I see... I... maybe he just hasn't seen me without armor on."

Kiresh grumbles from his bed, "You were naked when he transformed you. He's seen everything."

"That doesn't count! I was younger then! I looked like a little boy. I didn't have breasts yet."

"You still don't."

"Yes, I do!" She looks down at her assets and presses them together to make them look bigger. "They're nice now! Kiresh, don't you think they're nice?"

"No, but don't take it personally. All right, I'm getting up." He rises on his coils and rubs his eyes. He shooes away the nude teenaged boy who was in bed with him. The boy runs for the door, yelps at the sight of you blocking his way, then doubles back and runs to hide in a chest before you can make way for him.

You look back at Jaya, who's biting her lip hard and staring off into nowhere. "He was so kind... When he transformed me, the way he touched me was so gentle. He said he was proud of me. It made me feel special..."

Our dick being the Priests, I assume? The Gold Priest has some sort of martyr complex and dotes on his daughter, Bronze priest wants to fuck bitches 24/7, Sand priest is an elusive mofo so hell knows what his motive is, Where the fuck is the Rain priest? Seriously, I don't think we've even seen him recently, and the Blood Priest is just straight-up evil.

Seconding.
Use the battle-talk as a way to convince her to stay. Should I roll for Social?

Tell them that they are free to leave whenever they like now, as the king will probably be waiting on a report from them. You know, all the boring diplomatic detail work.

Then ask how they did in the big fight. What happened? How... alive was the wasp woman? I thought I killed her but good.
>>

"Did you fight in the battle here? What happened? Did yo see the wasp woman?"

Jaya nods. Kiresh, now mostly dressed, joins the conversation, "We did. She harried the palace and the Charioteers to distract the city's defenses while the rest of her forces went for the pyramid. She had a big scar across one eye here, and she was missing some legs. Whatever did that to her must have been fast, because she was damned hard to hit. We filled the sky with fire, but it did little. We did hold her off, though. Some centaur yelled something to her, and she had her people retreat. The king liked how we were the only monsters who bothered to help the palace. Jaya got all that jewelry, I got a boy to play with, and we both got reading lessons. Your writing is awful. Looks like a lot of chicken scratches."

"Oh, dear. Well, thank you for helping! I'm glad the king survived. He's a pretty good man. My mission was a success, mostly. I killed the man who killed my friend, and we rescued the two heroes who were still alive. You can go home, but I'd love for you to stay."

Kiresh checks his reflection in a polished bronze basin. "I think it's time to go home. I want to fight for my people again, help shape the new world we've created. Eat some real food again. Also... well... my mother's probably wondering how I'm doing."

"Could I just stay, then? Some time away from his majesty might do me some good..."

> "If that's what you both want, then that sounds good."
> "You're sure you don't both want to stay? You make an excellent team."
> "You can go, Kiresh, but the boy stays here."

There are no social skill rolls. You can roll to remember rules of etiquette or the unwritten laws of life as a poor girl in the city, but otherwise you just have to choose (or write in) good dialog options.

You ARE guests after all.

I just worry about Kiresh traveling alone. There's crazy wasps out there you know.

"If that's what you both want, then that sounds good."

"I'll try to get together enough supplies for the journey, then. Maybe your king will want to send some people of his own in return. I could travel with them."

"Aww... I'm going to miss you, Kiresh!" Jaya says as she gives him a tight and very one-sided hug.

"Goodbye, Jaya. I know it's not what you want to be, but you're a good soldier. Your fire burns hot and strokes true. I'll tell his majesty about you, for what it's worth."

"You can. But I think I'm going to try to get over him. Slowly..."

As you excuse yourself to see to other business, a stocky man with a thick graying beard runs to meet you in the hallway. "Lady Scorpion. It is good that you have returned. I speak for the Charioteers."

"All right. How can I help you?"

"The king has told us why the monsters came, what they're trying to do. Some schools are digging in their heels and building up their defenses, but we want to take the fight to the enemy. We want your advice on what to do..."

"Well, thank you! I'm flattered."

"And one more thing. We've bought something from the Archers. We want your blessing... to make another monster."

> "NOPE, NOPE, NOPE, so much nope."
> "It's about time. I was wondering when we'd get some more."

Better have the only person knowing shit about blood rituals do it.

>What... kind of monster?
Let's get ALL THE INFO before we do anything. If they want our blessing then they'll have to reveal themselves to us.

Can we ask what kind?

I'd like another monster made, but I want it made by someone who knows what they are doing, and I want it to have enough time to get used to the body and train for fighting before getting into a fight.

All our new monsters keep being horrible maggot worms or dying before they're trained, and it's just heartbreaking.

You're not sure what to do. Should you make them go through the Blood Priest? Would either party even agree to that? Will this end in another disaster? You decide to ask the only question that you're pretty sure the charioteer will answer truthfully. "What kind of monster are we talking about?"

"The magical relic we found is a piece of gray glass, formed by the earth's fire, the wizards say. Inside it are the bones of a lizard."

Thanks for running anu.
And I guess I wouldn't mind a lizard running around. Let's just be friendly with this one. And guard the hell out of it.

I missed saying this for the last couple of threads because I have a job now and I have to wake up early. But I was definitely here for them.

You're welcome! And hey, I remembered to archive this time: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html
>>
>>33615635
Depends, is it a monster-creation ritual such as the one that created us, or a resurrection ritual as such that made the Centaurs?
>>
>>33615687
The lizards we killed were transformed rather than resurrected. This one will probably be the same. Should we make them use it on that one whore-in-training? She wanted to be something pretty. Lizards can be pretty, I guess.
>>
>>33615685
Wonderful. Archives are good.
>>33615687
I think it's transformative.
>>33615720
God, picking people for this is hard.
Maybe we should find someone without legs.
>>
>>33615720
Sure. Let's have that as our requirement for our blessing. Let's tell them that if you give these rituals to people that WANT them then the chance for bad shit (killing everyone) is higher. If they mention the heartless giant say that the giant is something different to a lizard-monster.
>>
>>33615783
I hope Patience is nice to that guy growing out of her. He got kind of a raw deal.
>>
>>33615828
Well, he seemed to be able to still visit his mom and such.

I think he dictates most of what patience does in her off time.
>>
>>33615828
We might need to stall the monster ritual and spend the next day or so re-acquainting with people. When was the last time we talked to the Rain Priest, Patience, Nergal-Edir, Tabni-Ninsun, Dadanum , Meluku, Kullaa, Rabi-Tammuz?
>>
>>33615934
yeah, we've been super busy as of late.
>>
>>33615934
We saw Kullaa in this thread, but didn't say much. We saw Patience on our way into town, and Tabni-Ninsun and Dadanum were sucking face when we first went into the pyramid. I worry about Meluku and Rabi-Tammuz, though. That kid is going to turn into a god or a kaiju or something, and he needs healthy role models.
>>
I forgot, what's the word of god on milking our venom for later use?
>>
>>33616042
You can do it. It will keep for a while, but maybe not forever.
>>
>>33615582
Thank you for running Anu
>>
>>33616102
Well, I know what we're doing next time!
Lewd stuff, we're doing lewd stuff with Nakurtum
>>
>>33616042
I might actually consider giving away some of our venom now that it's actually a pretty helpful sedative.

Seems useful to have.
>>
>>33616215
>implying we would be unfaithful to Hillallum
>>
>>33616370
We're not being unfaithful, we're just practising for him.
When we meet him next time we can milk each other.
>>
>>33616215

I don't think she wants to do that sort of thing with us. She sees us more like family, and not in a sexy way. In fact, we're kind of like her second chance at having a family after she left her old one because she wanted to bang her in-law, so she's especially disinclined to bang her replacement family.

If we really want to be bi-curious, we have that maid...
>>
>>33616494
Well I'm sure that we don't have the bodily dexterity to bend over backwards and milk ourselves so =someones= going to have to help us.

It may benefit us to practise milking Mr. Clicks first though. Same principle for both him and us.
>>
>>33616564
I think we can just sort of hold the stinger in the "sting" position to make it come to us.
>>
Actually, how the hell do you milk a scorpion?
>>
>>33617010
Have them sting a big sponge or spongy material.
>>
>>33617055
So, we're either bending backwards or having someone climb on our back, and then sting a sponge? Sounds less lewd the way that I found. Bending the tail backwards and stimulating the tip (usually via electricity) until it squirts its venom.

>>33617010
Well, when the stinger part feels REALLY good...
>>
>>33616494
>>33616861
>>33617055

Scorpions are "milked" in a similar manner to snakes. A hollow coating thick enough to stop a sting is put over an empty vessel, the force placed on the edges of the tip of the tail then result in the compression of vital parts of the stinger when the scorpion attempts to sting the object. There isn't anything really lewd to be had here, more like Hunzuu stinging the crap out of a honey pot.
