The woman lunges towards Theresa, or so she thinks. Instead, she passes through the refraction field that I created and ends up several feet to her right. Having been taken completely off guard by my tactic, she ends up skidding several feet as she makes an attempt to regain her bearings.

But I will not let her.

It seems that Theresa was expecting this to happen and readies something that she had in her pocket in the meantime... but that will not be necessary. I am the sun. My light even shines on that which does not exist. It belongs to me, and I treasure it.

From the bright morning sky, I focus the light of the star overhead and gather its might within my hand. Before the woman can get within range of what is mine, I let it loose.

Freed from my grasp, the light closes the distance between myself and the weed in an instant, hitting it right in its exposed midriff. The familiar smell of charred flesh fills the air as it howls in agony.

Now that I think about it, they'd probably realize exactly who we are anyway. I can't imagine the mafia didn't have someone watching the hospital where Andy was so they've seen us all already, and Char just revealed her animal control powers when they already know animals were snooping around.

They could follow that logic train back to the same conclusions either way if they're smart. It would just take them some extra time to put all the pieces together.
