Your now bedaggered, and pantsed self decides to follow Jager and Ryoko concerned about the wicked wickenyness that they wickedly conspire to wicked. You up your cloaking and slink after them out of concern for their “Say wicked one more time and I’ll box your ears in.” You threaten.

You follow them out of concern for their, shall we say, well being. You catch up to them just as Ryoko finishes explaining something to Jager. You listen in on their conversation.

“That’s not possible right?” Jager asks.

“You saw how she looked, and, like, I’m not saying it’s true but we have to, like, account for the possibility or whatever.” Ryoko explains.

Jager crosses her arms and taps her finger. “So what should we do? It’s not something we should just bring up.”

“Maybe it’s nothing. But, like, what if I’m right? It would make sense. It’s not like people call them that because of a difference in opinion.” Ryoko explains.

Jager sighs and closes her eyes in thought. Your tails slightly sway as she holds that pose for a moment then she opens her eyes. “Okay, I’ll keep an eye on her. It’s probably nothing but just in case it is something I’ll see what I can do.”

“Yeah, I am pretty tired. I might have been seeing things.” Ryoko says but you can tell from her voice that she doesn’t believe in what she is saying “Just, look, if it is something let me know okay? I want to, like, help you and sensei too”

Jager nods. “Okay, I’ll make sure to keep you in the loop. Anyway, it is early and we stole your beauty sleep from you. Go home, grab some rest.”

“That’s probably a good idea.” Ryoko says with a yawn. “See you later Jager, and thanks.”

Ryoko leaves and Jager turns to go. You dream walk away from them and make a pose on the other side of a tree. Jager approaches and see you flaring your tails out behind you dangerously. She looks confused then looks up on a branch and sees an ugly sort of fincher bird make angry bird sounds at you.

“Come on down here and say that to my face ya muggy cunt. I’ll smack you so ugly your dad won't won't snog you anymore.” You threaten.

It lets out a croak of disingenuous accusations and you had it up to here with him. You sonido up and take a swing knocking the bird off the branch and into the distant town. “Yeah, how you like that? Eh? Not so tough now, is ya?” You ask the distant bird.

“Good job attacking a random bird.” Jager congratulates.

“Ain’t nothing. So what did Ryoko need to talk about which was so super secret?” You ask.

You decide to just accept her lies, and her fibs, and even her deceptions. You nod and file it under things to be bitter about when alone and with nothing better to do then pull out the small taguzikushiwaga. “Well that isn't the right word. The hell you on about?” The magical knife he was cutting the air and making moonbeams with. It probably has a proper name but honestly I am in no mood to learn another Japanese word.

“Teenaged girls, when will they ever not have problems?” You ask then change the subject. “I got this pretty nifty knife, fancy helping me test it out?”

“Sure, this is what summoned the avatar thing right?” Jager asks.

“Yep. Godly artifact which makes magical fuck you avatars of destruction. Okay then, time to test it out.” You say with a grin.

You hold out the knife and send some of your energy into it then swing. You expect to explode but nothing happens. Seem it isn’t straight up rejecting you at least. You swing it a few times here and there but you feel like you are missing a few somethings to make it work the way you want it to. You stab the ground and try to slice the air but nothing continues to happen.

Seems it doesn’t hate you at least. “Well, that’s something at least.”

“Should you give it to someone else?” Jager asks.

“Maybe, but it could also reject them and explode or something.” You explain.

You smell the energy around the shrine take a depressing turn and you conclude Sin-Fin has woken up. She is able to trick an angel blade into thinking she is [Justice] so maybe she could help show you how it works?

Sin-Fin is your resident "Trick magical items into thinking you are super trustworthy" expert, so you decide to go talk to her about it. “Right then, shall we go have Sin-Fin take a look at it?” You wonder.

“I thought you said it could hurt someone if they used it wrong.” Jager frowns.

“Nah, I said it will just explode you even if you use it right if the thing doesn’t like you. Sin-Fin’s got some skill at lying to stuff so we should check it out.” You say.

Jager seems apprehensive but accepts. She takes the stares in the shrine to Sin-Fin’s room while you climbs up the rope. You see her laying in bed with her eyes open exactly where you left her. You raise your hand in a salute and she turns her head. “Hell…o.” She says.

“Hey there Sinny-Finny” Awful nickname. “Funny fins.” Better. “Just wanted to see how you were and was wondering if you knew how to make a moon dagger work.” You ask.

She sits up as Jager opens the door and you see small black cracks slowly mending on her arm. She sits on the edge of her bed and stares at you. You offer the dagger but she doesn’t move. “Does it have an on switch?” She asks softly.

Did we check for an on switch? You look over the dagger but see no button or switch. “Nope, doesn’t have an on switch.” You reply.

“Does it need… batteries?” She continues.

You twist the dagger and plan on swearing like a sailor if it turns out it needed some double As or something. Luckily it seems you can protect Jager’s innocence about naughty words for a little while yet. “No batteries. Think you can trick it like you do that sword thing?”

Sin-Fin nods and stands. She slowly approaches and delicately grabs the dagger then furrows her brow. She shakes her head slightly a few times then nods. She walks over to the blinds and closes them, and suddenly you are acutely aware of something engulfing you in the absolute darkness. Jager takes in a sharp breath as you reach your hand out to grab what you think is a person next to you but turns out to be only blackness. You hear Sin-Fin whispering to someone and in some twisted way you think you hear the silence reply.

“Risa.” Jager says from by the door. “Stop petting my hand.” She commands.

“Jager, that isn’t me.” You explain.

You hear her stumble and decide that is enough of that. You send energy into your wings to fill the room with a violet glow and drive the darkness back. It seems to slide back slowly like some form of creeping inky thing and finally your eyes Focus on Sin-fin holding the dagger.

She gives it a few test swings and you see a black and red thing form around her. An avatar forms around her similar to the one you say the moon man use, with a few distinct differences. Instead of a robed mask guy it is a skeleton wearing a jester’s outfit. Rather than white and silver it seems to be made of red and black energy and it holds no daggers.

In the things rib cage there are worn hilts from some kind of katana on either side. The skeleton’s thin fingers grab hold of the weapons and pulls them out to reveal long, damaged blades. Ghostly eyes lock on you and Jager and the skeleton’s mouth opens in a sick hiss. It lunges forward with the jingle of the ghostly bells and swings, but before it strikes it fades.

You look over at Sin-Fin and see her arm is bleeding slightly from the cracks. She frowns and pulls open the blinds to let the natural sunlight in the room once more. “It needs… skill to use. It doesn’t like the sun and… needs sword talent.” She explains.

You place the back of your hand against your forehead and fall back into Shiba. Shiba sighs and thinks for a moment. She has a sort of theatrical tone to her voice so you play along with it. “But I heard how you wished to return me!” You object.

“Because I know you are a rose, and the closer I pull you the more it will only hurt me. To covet one as beautiful as you would mean locking you in a cage when truly what you need to do is fly free.” She continues.

You mull over her words for a moment then nod. “Not bad.”

“You get a lot of trashy TV here.” Shiba explains letting you up.

You get the feeling she likes you more now. As her and Jager start talking about unimportant stuff you feel your eyelids get heavy and your body sag in exhaustion. You yawn and rub the sleepies away from your eyes which- wait are you sleepy? You’re never sleepy. “Don’t ask me, you’re my sodding brain. Did you muck with the wiring up there?” Not in a way that would do this.

You dream of void. Not the regular blackness of sleeplessness, or the pale white of a room but of something so empty and simply without that such words fail to describe it. Suddenly the you in front of you opens her eyes and you see her eyes are made of rings expanding in every dimension that exists and even more that don’t. She opens her mouth to speak and only a high pitched, painful shriek escapes before long, wet, rubbery tentacles covered in eyes which see into places no mind is meant to go shoot out of her chest. They wrap around you and you feel revulsion at the strange feeling of them on your skin. You look down at her chest and see a massive beak open and try to draw you in.

You fire cero after cero at the woman but it just make wounds which burst open with more psychically offensive protrusions. She draws you close in and you feel her biting down just as you wake up. You shoot up in your bed covered in sweat and breathing hard. You look around your room and see Jager must have cleaned up a little since it looks more organized. You press your hand against you face and shiver as you remember the dream. Well, good morning sunshine.

“How long was I out?” You ask.

About twenty six hours. You tilt your head finding that a little excessive, but slowly pull yourself out of bed and get dressed for the day. You still feel groggy, but you are not as absolutely exhausted as you were before so you let it slide. You have no idea what the dream could have meant.

What should we do?

You decide that Azzy might know since she invaded your dreams before and rummaged through my journals. You open up the door to your room and sonido off the city. You have no trouble finding Asmodeus’ place and walk right in. The heavy music pounds against your skin and you feel yourself get light headed as the club’s atmosphere assaults you.

You skip through the people working out every indulgence known to human kind, and more that aren’t, to reach the back room. You open to door to see Asmodeus concentrating on a crossword of some kind. She looks up at your approach. “If it isn’t Risa, how nice of you to visit. Want some tea?”

“Sure, could always use a nice cuppa.” You reply sitting down.

“I take it this isn’t a social call.” She says.

You take your tea and nod. “Right, I was-“

“Why isn’t it a social call? You should social call more.” She objects.

“Well you should come by my place more often then.” You reply.

“Hm, I would but every time I step out of my club I have to deal with my family. ‘Oh, Asmodeus. Where you off to then? Going to be back for supper? Trying to defy God and bring sin to the world?’ I am at that point in a fuss and say something like ‘I am just off for a stroll, you miserable gits.’ Then they say how I am a cripple, and that the light of god would heal me, so on and so forth. It’s a pain.” She explains.

“Well, um. I’m not sure what to do with that information.” You honestly say.

“It’s fine, they have just been in a mood since Gabriel showed up. What was it you wanted to talk about?” She asks.

“Well I had a sort of dream and I was wondering if you knew what it meant.” You say before explaining the dream.

She nods and waits for you to finish. “Well, if you had a sex drive I would say it meant you wanted to shag yourself and we would have a talk about the difference between a positive self-image and pure narcissism. Anyway, you said it was a void?”

You make your mental list and go out to find Jager. She is in her room looking over something she hides when you come in. “Risa, there is such a thing as knocking.” She says.

“I’m not a raven.” Silly Jager. “Anyway I got a nice invite from Asmodeus to go partying at her club. We should go, she asked for you by name you know.” You explain.

Jager narrows her eyes and stares at you for a few moments. You are afraid you broke her but she finally says “There are a number of things I feel I should point out. Most importantly, it’s still morning, isn’t partying something reserved for night?”

You know, that is sort of a fair point. “Not my fault if someone doesn’t explain it proper.” You say looking up angrily. At this point it has happened so much I am pretty sure we are legally required to call it a character trait. “That is no defense. So I got back here in the morning after killing moon guy. Mucked about for a bit, then slept for about a day. That does seem to add up to it still being daytime.” You explain.

“Second doesn’t it make you suspicious that she asked for me specifically?” Jager asks.

“Not really, I agreed partying with you would be fun. Especially the body shots.” You say.

“Body shots? What are those?” Jager wonders.

“They are-“ Sh! Wait until we get there. “Oh, got you.” You tap your nose. “Spot on. I’ll tell you when we get there.”

You decide to check out the scarecrow. “Hello there tiny god thing.” You say grabbing your watering can and giving him a small drizzle. “Tell me about Gods and how they work.” You command.

“What exactly?” He asks.

“Well, what are they supposed to do?” You ask.

“What ever people believe them to do.” He answers. “Gods should behave as people believe they should behave to assure their faith.”

“Well, snazzy. Anything I should be worried about from eating all these Shinto gods? Will it destabilize Japan or something?” You wonder.

“No, the world will survive. It always does.” He explains

“Huh. Say, would you like to go with me to a club hosted by the Fallen Angel of Lust?” You ask. “There will probably be a bunch of attractive women there and you would like that.”

“Thank you for the offer but I am not particularly comfortable around a being like that.” He says. He is spooked by the angel? Jeez, it’s like the angels all slaughtered gods for no real reason other than blind obedience to a genocidal psychopath.

You spend the rest of the time getting ready to go. You clean, get dressed, put on makeup, and generally act like a bird about to go to a club. You nod to yourself happily in the mirror and go out to meet your scrubs. Ryoko is already dressed up and she smiles happily when she sees you. “Ah, sensei! You’re wearing lipstick, I’ve never seen that.”

Of course she hasn’t we are perfect usually. “And our face keeps exploding so wearing it would be sort of silly, wouldn’t it?” You say. Fair.

Jager comes out dressed in short shorts and a short tank top with a cool design on it. Sin-Fin is dressed as always, while Shiba is wearing some pants and a leatherish corset thing with two straps leading from her chest to a leather choker. Ryoko is wearing a skirt you are pretty sure is too damn short for words and some open blouse thing.

Your group gathers and you move to the club. The music slams into you as you step in and take a look around. Asmodeus cleaned the club up, or at least hid her torture/sex/food room. She steps out into the club from the back room and locks the door behind her. “Welcome!” the pierced woman says. “Ah, Jager it’s so good to see you.”

“Get thee behind me Satan.” Jager commands.

“Well, I was going to try and get you liquored up first but if you want to skip the foreplay I am all for it.” She replies.

Sin-Fin glances around and seems to be just taking everything in.

She does some trendy thing and keeps bumping and grinding against you but you don’t mention she is clearly dancing badly with all her grinding and bumping because you are a good teacher. You feel people around you and you think you can smell a maimed and nearly destroyed soul nearby and conclude Asmodeus is using the music as some form of torture somehow but no one else seems to have noticed.

You feel yourself getting a little woozy as the crazy movements seem to mess with your mind. You lean against a bench by Asmodeus and she smiles. “You seem to be enjoying yourself.”

“Yeah, this is pretty good. Feeling a bit weird.” You explain. “Pretty nice though.”

Yes, that is totally a thing you have to do. You shake off the effects of the club long slightly. “Okay, so you need to lay on the bar and suck in a little. Then you pour some salt on you and put a lime in your mouth, then I drink it out of your navel.”

“That hygienic?” Jager asks climbing up on the bar.

“It’s fun!” Ryoko argues. “It’s like a game for drinking.”

“I’m just worried you like my abs more than me.” Jager explains while Shiba grabs the stuff.

“Or because it’s you.” Mind-blown.

You place a line of salt on Jager, Shiba pouts and you place the lime in her mouth. You lick up the salt and dive in. The abs feel like the most beautiful fantastic things ever. Your tongue goes over the mounds of muscle and you vibrate in raw unrestrained delight giving the area of the club a violet hue for just a moment. You go for the lime with far more gusto than you believe right.

Jager’s eyes go wide and she struggles a little while you go for the lime but eventually she give up. The alcohol messes with your head and you realize Asmodeus must know the now dead’s 42’s secret. You nod at the impressive display and take a moment to lament his loss. Jager squealing draws your attention back and you see Shiba with a lime in her mouth as well. “Not bad.” She says taking a hit from the bottle.

“Me! Me!” Ryoko shouts leaping towards Jager.

Things get fuzzy again. You hear Asmodeus say something which makes Sin-Fin smile for just a moment then she returns to her dour mood. Azzy says something to you and gestures to Sin-Fin. Sin-Fin glances back and nods. You think it may be a complex idea.

Sword and Shield seems pretty nice, though. Gives us more offensive oomph while also giving us an option to try to use our blasts to shield or cancel out attacks. Giving our team cloaking is a handy utility to have, but we need to think about how much we really sneak around.

Let me give an extreme example, which isn't playing hard or fast with anything just saying stuff

Your go juice, now, is automatically deducted and constantly heals you. However it heals you at a certain rate so in battle you will see something like

Damage: Moderate
Go juice: High

Next round it might be

Damage:Fair
Go juice: Moderate

That would never happen because of your go juice being so high, but it gives the idea

With madness being you would get the first followed by

Damage: Low
Go juice: fair

Instead. Does that help clear things up?

So it's a comparable rate of health recovery/go juice expenditure, but it's a higher rate of juice usage per turn.
Seems like a pretty good ability, though I really wish we had an ability to augment our go-juice capacity.
