You are currently the Cellmate. You are sitting on your bed, talking to the Prisoner on your totally sick modded laptop. S/he's some sort of maybe-girl that seems to have gotten a little unhinged. You're starting to wonder if anything they've told you has been true, to be honest. Was it a good decision to put all of your eggs into one cracked basket? Not that you had much choice, the Prisoner is the only one who’s still inexplicably alive.
The Prisoner is asking you to unblock the Closet, having had a sudden burst of scary clairvoyance on your surroundings. You really don't want to do that but you're currently busy trying to figure out the best way to phrase that so that the Prisoner doesn't think you are insane.
You have access to everything as per usual in your new Hi-Sec Cell. Everything save your Closet, which is completely blocked off thanks to your bed sitting in front of the door.

It all started a few days ago, about an hour after you talked to the Prisoner for the first time. You started to hear things. Light steps and scratches, almost as if something was within your Closet. But that was impossible, you’d been in there plenty of times and you know for a fact that Overseers can’t enter it. But then the knocking started. Something came a rapping, came a tapping upon your Closet door.

You’d always suspected that they were drugging the food so it was only a matter of time before you started having hallucinations, right? You know how these things work, you’ve seen them in movies at least a dozen times. You tried to put it out of your mind as best you could but they didn’t stop. If anything, the knocks became more frequent, more urgent.
When the door handle started to turn, gripped from something on the other side, you panicked and in a feat of sudden adrenaline you dragged your bed from the middle of your room and slammed it up against the door. The knocking stopped and you’ve been sane ever since.
>>
>>33827091
So really, there should be nothing wrong with unblocking the Closet like they want you too right? The Knocker doesn’t actually exist, it was just your mind playing tricks. No problem, none at all. Well, only one problem at least. You were only able to throw your bed around like that thanks to a sudden fit of berserker strength. You couldn’t move it if you tried.
There’s probably some sort of overcomplicated bullshit puzzle way to move it. Your computer is still binging since the Prisoner won’t shut up.

[ ]Tell the Prisoner to go away
[ ]Try to move the bed anyway
[ ]Ignore both, play video games
[ ]Recollect
>>
>>33827129
Try to move the bed.
Welcome back!

[ ]Ignore both, play video games
>>
>>33827129
Tell her that it will be a minute. Then try to get it at least slightly moved.

Btw, what time is it?
>>
>>33827129
Recollect; try to focus on the things that make the high security cell different than our normal one.
>>

>>33827683
You grab the bed by the header and try to pull it back. Damn son, this thing is solid. Like a giant brick and approximately just as comfortable. You grab the mattress instead and throw it off in the hopes of alleviating some of the weight but to no avail.
You manage to move the frame by about an inch but it feels like every muscle in your body is on fire. You're starting to regret not using the Gym more back when you had time. But then again, your computer mastery is so proficient, you never expected needing to do any grunt work. Isn't that what the Prisoner is for?

>>33827869
You open Chatterspeak back up.

-uh-
-this might take a minute-

+Why? What's going on?+

-too long to explain-
-its a kickass story i promise-
-but nows not the time-

+Please use proper punctuation+

-nah-

God, you're getting sick of them asking that. Don't they understand how vitally important it is that you project the image of being really chill? You actually have to correct yourself all the time when you type because you accidentally capitalise stuff and use apostrophes. They don't know the sacrifices you go through.

>>33828003
On the interior, the Hi-Sec Cell is almost identical to the one you used to be. There are a few restrictions however. Your Delivery Chute is covered by a grate and only dispenses sprays of generic Nutrition Mulch. Your Gym and Garden are basically empty of everything and your Basement lacks a Doorwheel, housing only that weird abacus machine.
The real difference is the outside. You are given to believe that your Cell is locked away from the Entrance Hall hub by a hatlock and security code. Why hats? You don't know. You just don't know. The Overseers seem to use them as some sort of I.D badge. It's so stupid.
Technically gaining access to your Cell from the outside will sound an alarm but if the Prisoner is telling the truth that won't matter since the facility has mysteriously emptied.
God, you hope the Prisoner was telling the truth.
>>
2/2

>>33828177
>God, you hope the Prisoner was telling the truth.

But then again, the Prisoner also told you that they were a girl only to tell you later that they were a dude. You're not sure how to feel about that. Truth be told, you'd gotten a little excited about the idea of a female escapee. Entertained a few fantasies. Only to be cruelly brought back down to reality.

>>33827747
In fact, why should you entertain the Prisoner's mad whims at all? They've probably gone completely nuts and they're a liar to boot.
You decide to instead open up BlockQuest 4, your personal favourite of the series and start fucking around with sidequests.
>>
>>33828256
After blockquest, hit the gym.
>>
>>33828256
Inspect the abacus.
>>
>>33828256
Consider ourself. Do we think in Values?
>>
You spend several minutes playing BlockQuest before you start feeling a little guilty. Should you really be building houses for your block love interest?
The answer is yes of course but you can do it later.

>>33828338
You go check out the Gym again. It's still unlocked from your recent visit so you don't need to faff about getting they keys from the Basement like usual.
As you previously noted, the room is completely empty save for blue exercise mats. You could do some push-ups you guess.
There's a trapdoor in the roof that was already open when you got moved here. It leads to a sorta cool attic which doesn't actually hold anything except a Hyper-Stretch Extension Cord.

>>33828344

>>33828344
You go back down to the Basement and look at the abacus-computer. It's a bulky machine with some sort of complicated abacus twining around it. There's a monitor but it never shows anything but a static picture of your face.
Just the like the abacus-computer back in your old Cell, it's password protected. Of course, that doesn't always mean anything to you.
>>
>>33828526
You introspect upon the nature of your being.

Name: ???? (Cellmate)
Gender: Dude
Age: 16
Stomach: Feelin' Alright
Energy: Refreshed
Strength: Weedy
Durability: Alright
Speed: Decent
Sick: Hella

Aw yeah, lookin' good.
>>
>>33828530
We're a master hacker; crack that thing's password.
>>
>>33828530
See if you can artificially scare yourself to get more adrenaline in you. Then you can move the bed.
>>
>>33828822
Get scared? You? You're far too chill to be able to do anything like that. Nothing scares you. Yessir. Nothing at all.

You go and make scary faces in the Bathroom mirror anyway just in case. It doesn't work but you get a decent look at yourself in the process. You never pass up the chance to check yourself out.

You're a 16 year old boy wearing orange flannel pyjamas. Your skin is pale and your red hair is cropped fairly short. You've got a minor case of pigeon-chest but that's mostly from your lack of exercise, you swear.

>>33828632
You go back to your Bedroom and grab your laptop.

Inventory
Clothing: Pyjamas, Crystal Pendant
Right Hand Slot: Nothing
Left Hand Slot: Modded Laptop

Your laptop is a bit of an oddity. You smashed your old laptop into carefully calculated pieces and when a replacement arrived, used those pieces with your new computer to basically construct a new machine. You don't entirely understand how you did it but it owns.

You connect your laptop to the abacus machine and set a program to try out every possible combination combined with a composition of every other facility code you know in order to track likely combinations.

After a few minutes, you settle on 555559825. The machine pops open and the abacus rearranges itself to form a series of columns, none of which mean anything to you.
>>
>>33829061
Screw around with the columns. Keep an air of aloofness while we do so.
>>
>>33829061
Set everything to max
>>
>>33829170
>>33829284

You want to just mess around and set everything to max but you can't do that. Most of these columns can take up to a hundred beads it looks like and you only have thirty.

You decide to mess around some and add beads to ALL of the columns. Nothing seems to change much. No new software or information, no secret passages open. Just as you'd always suspected, this machine was no doubt nothing more than a red herring to hide the secret Overseer trapdoor.

For some reason you're starting to feel pretty weird!
>>
>>33829429
Look closer at the machine. Does it have any labels?
>>
>>33829429
Reduce everything to one then max out a column
>>
>>33829429
Review labels of columns obviously.
>>
>>33829466
It does, actually. They are labelled left to right, G, A, Hu, E, St, T, Q, Si, D, He. You spend a few seconds counting beads in your head and come back with a score that looks like this, with no spare beads left over:

G:2
A: 18
Hu: 77
E: 98
St: 54
T: 43
Q: 85
Si: 57
D: 10
He: 51

That was after you messed around of course. You don't remember what the original scores were.

>>33829502
You start reducing the E column to start off but you suddenly feel extremely sick and fatigued as you do so.
>>
>>33829600
Set G back to 1.

Move 46 beads from Q into St.
>>
>>33829600
Leave it alone for now. Go move your bed.
>>
>>33829600
Take some from Q and put them into D
>>
>>33829842

You move G back down to 1 and then move a whole shitload of beads from Q to St.

>>33829926

Actually, why not keep taking from Q? You move another twenty from it to D, leaving you with this:

G:1
A: 18
Hu: 77
E: 98
St: 100
T: 43
Q: 19
Si: 57
D: 30
He: 51

None of this seems to be doing anything except making you feel nauseous.

>>33829889

You go back to your Bedroom and move the bed aside easily. Damn. Was it always this light? You're not sure what's going on anymore.

You hear a knock.
>>
>>33829926
D is useless right now, really should have dumped that back to 0.

>>33830008
Don't open it. Just message the Prisoner that it's unblocked now.
>>
>>33830008
Reply "who's there?"
Then tell the Prisoner that the closet is open.
>>
>>33830073
Metagaming's bad, mmkay?
>>
>>33830008
Go take from str and put more into q
>>
>>33830008
No more fear. Open the door.
>>
>>33830108
>anon can't into spoilers

>>33830199
No way. Just ask the Prisoner why it matters if he unblocks the Closet.
>>
>>33830008
Introspect on the nature of your being again.
>>
Fortunately your voice works fine, having been well-honed from talking back to the television screen. You can't imagine what it'd be like trying to talk if you'd spend most of your life completely unpracticed. Probably sound like some sort of stuttering retard.
"Yo? Who's there?"

No reply save for further knocking, each one louder than the last.

-alright-
-its unblocked-
-go nuts-

+Thank you. You sure took your time+

-screw you-
-also-
-why do you need this anyway-

+Do you believe in dreams?+

-what the fuck kind of answer is that-

+I'll tell you after we escape, it's sort of complicated.+

You tab out of Chatterspeak and climb to your feet. Looks like the Cellmate finally came through. What took him so long?
You are the Prisoner, obviously. As you have always been

Dream Value: 8

You're running dangerously low. Time to get moving. You open the Closet door, revealing an exact duplicate of your Dreamworld Closet. Save for one little detail. At the very far end is an ornate wooden door with a fancy-looking black keyhole in the middle of it. 'IX' is inscribed onto the frame.
>>
>>33830363
Use the Black Key or whatever. the whole keyring.
>>
>>33830363
Try all keys on it
>>
aww shite, after the keys in the keyhole (don't) work, we could try adjusting the Cellmate's Dream Abacus in the basement, and see what that does.
>>
>>33830390
Seconding
>>
You take a moment to brush up against the door. Your cell was all plastic and the outer facility was practically all metal, this is the first time you've ever touched wood in the flesh before.
Dream-flesh.

It doesn't actually feel special. Turns out wood is just wood. Who knew?

You pull out your Black Key and slide it inside the keyhole. Have you finally found a use for this damn thing? The door swings open, prismatic light flooding into the room. You avert your gaze but even trying to peek in is impossible. Just a wall of solid rainbow light.

You reach out to touch it and get sucked in! You bounce to a stop inside what appears to be your Dreamworld Bedroom. But there are some subtle differences. For starters, this Bedroom is round like your Bedroom in real life rather than the Bedroom in your Dream. Also there is a redhead in yellow pyjamas staring at you open-mouted.
>>
>>33830574
"H-hello?"
Your words stumble over each other. Who is this? What's going on?

The man doesn't seem too happy either.
"What the fuck?"

"Speakertron?"

>>33830705
>>33830875

"Are you asleep? I mean, right now? A-asleep that is?"
Oh boy you are just fucking everything up right now.

"No? Why would I aslee-.."
His eyes narrow.
"Are you the last cellmate?"

"M-maybe. Is that you, Speakertron?"
Oh shit, you didn't mean to call him that. You know he's not the bot. Shit, shit, all of your words are tangled up right now. Are you in the real world right now? But then where is your body? Is it still back in bed? How does this even make sense?

>>33830764
You offer them if you want to bring them anything, mentioning the imposter weed. Or at least you try to. It's really hard talking to a genuine person, okay? Why couldn't this be online?
You're sweating and your face feels red hot.

He just stares at you like you're insane.
"Weed? Where did you come from?"
He seems about as lost as you are.

A loud knocking startles you.

"What are you, a coward?"

You step past him and fling the door open.

Dream Value: 2

There is a strange robot waiting on the other side inside the Closet. It reminds you of that Overseer that you saw in the Bathroom but without a moustache or hat. It's slouched over like some sort of hunchback.
>>
>>33830918
Talk to the knocker.
>>
>>33831184
How did you get in here?

Is there a secret passage in the real-world version of the closet too?

Say hello. Ask if it has a Name Value.

>>33831218
>>33831230

You jump back a little as the robot steps into the room. What's he doing in there? Is there somthing like that in your Closet too?

"Hi! How did you get in t-there?"

The robot's two glass eyes start flashing and it looks like it might actually answer you but then-

Dream Value: 0

-you wake up.
You are in bed in your regular old Bedroom, surrounded by a clutter of the items you went to sleep with.

Inventory
Clothing: Overseer-grade hat, Pyjamas
Right Hand Slot: Laptop w/Extension Cord
Left Hand Slot: Laser Rifle
Hat Slot: Overseer Battery
Pyjama Pockets: Silver Key, Gym Key, Garden Key, Black Key, Magician Key, Bronze Key, Gray Key

The Snoozepak, Dream Journal, Fairy Lantern, Tarot Deck and Hobby Horse seem to have vanished again. The Deck will probably be back in the Rumpus Room at least but you suppose the Horse is another special Dream item that you can't bring back with you.
>>
>>33831403
Damn blueballs.

Quick, IM Speakatron and ask what the robot said.

And what did we look like when we woke up?

It only takes 1 to 3 beads anon.

Get on the laptop. Ask him if we just talked.
>>
>>33831403
Put the Hat on the rack. See if this is enough to access the Lab.
>>
>>33831466
You're pretty sure the Adjuster has a maximum of three on that column. Not that it matter anyway since the one in your Basement is probably still shrunken to the point of uselessness.

>>33831436
>>33831495
>get back on IM and also check what you look like

You open up your laptop again and open up Chatterspeak.

+Well? What did he say?+

+Hello?+

+I know you're online. What's going on?+

Either the Cellmate is ignoring you or he isn't on his laptop right now. You walk to the Bathroom to check if anything about your Apperance Value has changed.
You look the same as you do when you went to sleep. The crystal veins running through you might be just a little more vibrant, a little more noticeable but that could just be your imagination.

>>33831594
You head into the Entrance Hall and deposit your hat onto the hatrack, dropping your Overseer Battery as you do so.
"Hat Level Check: Overseer-grade. Passable. Please insert the next hat."

The metal voice still seems unsatisfied, even though you've raised its Quantity Value to 50!
>>
>>33831683
I meant not Appearance Value, I meant what the process of waking up looked like.

Now go unshrink the Adjuster.
>>
>>33831683
I'm beginning to wonder if absorbing these crystals isn't a bad idea...
>>
>>33831478
Whoops, didn't even notice that. Meant 3. Phones are a bitch to type on.
>>
>>33831705
Followed by:

- Pick 4 imposter weeds, stick 3 in the tarot deck box
- Go to Values Adjuster, eat the weed
- observe how abacus beads appear out of nowhere
- move the 100 dream beads and 5 from Energy Value to max out Strength, Quickness, and Toughosity
>>
>>33831683
Go to the basement.
>>
>>33831856
You go into the Basement to inspect things. The Values Adjuster is still really tiny, sitting on top of the trapdoor that you weakened using the Control Room Adjuster.

>>33831705
You are unfortunately unable to perceive yourself during the waking process. Your eyes are usually shut until it's mostly over.

>>33831843
You walk back up to the Control Room and focussing the screens on the miniature Adjuster, return it to it's normal size.
This causes it to smash through the weakened trapdoor that it was sitting on top of, disappearing down the newly made hole with what you're sure would have been a mighty crash if the Control Room monitors had speakers.
Whoops.
>>
>>33832102
Well shit. Go down the hole.
>>
>>33832102
...Yes, that's why I wanted to ask Speakatron what it looked like. When we were in his room. Dreaming. and then Dream went to 0 and we woke up and... what did that process look like to him?

Anyway fuck.

Time to brave the sub basement. Bring gardening tools as weapons.
>>
>>33832150
>that's why I wanted to ask Speakatron what it looked like.

Oh! You quickly tap out the question over Chatterspeak to the Speakatron/Cellmate. Looks like he still isn't answering though. What's keeping him?

>>33832136
>>33832150
You go back down to the Garden and grab a shovel before cautiously entering the Basement and peering down the hole.

The hole is about eight feet deep. At the bottom is the Values Adjuster, smoking and giving off sparks. You decide to just be thankful that the fall didn't jar any of the beads!
You can't really see what's underneath the Adjuster but it seems to be a collection of twitching robot limbs and bowler hats.
>>
>>33832250
Fuck. There goes our in house cleaning service. Jump down, we can adjust our height when we're down there to get back up.
>>
>>33832250
Go down. Retrieve hats, see if we can use the adjuster. If so, set height low enough to go through the safe, strength fairly high, and gender to female.
>>
>>33832250
>You can't really see what's underneath the Adjuster but it seems to be a collection of twitching robot limbs and bowler hats.
Haha, so much for boss battles.

...I mean they're probably going to still be alive but.

Hey wait. we need an extensible cord to climb down and back up again with the Adjuster and all the hats we can nab without causing them to try and stop us.
>>
>>33832574
>climb down with extendible cord.

You disconnect the Hyper-Stretch Extension Cord from the laptop, plug it into the Rumpus Room outlet and then drag the other end all the way back to the Basement. Escape rope in hand, you then jump down the hole, doing your best not to land on the Adjuster itself.
The robots don't seem to be 'dead', just trapped. You take all four of their hats and wear them stacked up on top of each other.

Inventory
Clothing: Overseer-grade Quadruple Hat-Stack, Pyjamas
Right Hand Slot: Extension Cord
Left Hand Slot: Laser Rifle
Hat Slot: Empty
Pyjama Pockets: Silver Key, Gym Key, Garden Key, Black Key, Magician Key, Bronze Key, Gray Key

>>33832316
>>33832423

While you're down here, you might as well make use of the Adjuster right? You just can't decide on what to change! Your mind starts splitting again and everything hurts.

Stress Value: 20

Then you remember that you can't do the idea that involved you growing huge because you don't have any spares left thing thing.
So instead you set your He Column back down to 25, the G Column to 2 and using the rest of what you got from lowering Height to boost your St Column to 88.

Gender Value: Female

>>
>>33832736
Get a dream weed, bring it down to the basement.

Eat it and use the spare dream beads to max out Strength, Toughocity, Quickness, and then put the rest in Sin.
>>
>>33832736
Take the batteries out of the robots.

Upgrade strength and height so you can lift the adjuster out of the hole.
>>
>>33832868
>lift the adjuster out of the hole.
No don't!

The Overseers are trapped under it we have to leave them like that. We can still reach it when we need to.
>>
>>33833037
Oh wait you thought we could reach the battery packs duh. Sorry.

Dunno if we can.
>>
Shift gender value back to 3.
Buff Strength, Endurance, and all other relevant stats.
Break robots, carry abacus upstairs.
>>
>>33832868
You try to take the batteries out but you run into a small problem. The bulk of the Overseer's bodies are pinned underneath the Adjuster. You'll need to move the machine before you can properly disassemble them.

>>33832832
You go and eat one of your imposter weeds, stumbling your way back down to the Basement as your Dream Value flips out.
Woah. You're not sure if you should be operating fine machinery like this.

Fortunately your first move is to blast all of your newfound Dream beads into the the spare box, where you distribute them as follows:

Hunger Value: 0
Energy Value: 82

You settle for taking 40 from your Energy Value and using it to pump your Height Value back up to 50 and your normal height of 6'6'' and putting the rest into your Sin Value, bringing it to 75.

You climb back out of the hole and head to the Entrance Hall, where the Quadruple Hatrack awaits you. It might be time for your magnificent Hatstack to come to an end. Are you ready?

>>33833503
We'll still have a modest double-hat. Do it.
>>
>>33833503
Well we can keep a Double Hat Stack on our head at least.

Take a moment to think about happy things like yummy meals from the chute or good books. Relax a little before opening the Hat Lock.

You take a deep breath and take a moment to think of all the good times you had in your cell. Fresh omelettes from the Food Delivery Chute in the morning, reading Joey Valspone And The Dreamlands Of Unknown Kadath until going to sleep or that time when you had tried to choke yourself on a comically oversized Monopoly piece or the times when you tried to chew through the walls or when the Housemate woke up...

Stress Value: 45

Unfortunately you are feeling a little too stressed right now to be able to contemplate memories without delving too deep and stressing yourself out further. Let's just get this over with.

You reduce your noble Quadruple Hatstack to a mere Double Hatstack and adorn the Hatrack appropriately.
“Hat Level Check: Overseer...Access Confirmed.”

The double-faced Doorwheel suddenly glows, expanding much like the one in your Basement had done when you had unlocked the Entrance Hall. There are now further options on both sides.
The EXTERIOR Doorwheel gains two new selections, labelled Director Access and Laboratory. The INTERIOR Doorwheel gains an additional Cell, labelled Hi-Sec but not numbered.

An ear-splitting alarm tries to bore a hole through your head mere moments later. Goddamn that is really loud.
>>
>>33833739
I guess we should go check on Speakerbot. I do want to go get that battery pack though.
>>
>>33833739
>Laboratory
Need battery pack weapon! We'll have a laser in case the robot in there is trouble.

Hell if we put the laser gun and the battery pack into our room, we can use the Control Room Values Adjuster to fix whatever the problem with charging it was.
>>
>>33833739
To the Lab! Once the gun is functional we'll check on the cell mate. I want a weapon if that robot is hostile.
>>
You spin the Doorwheel to 'Laboratory'. Time to get some answers! And more importantly, a gun that can shoot lasers.

This new door takes you to a white lab in a state of considerable disarray. Things have been trashed and littered all over the place. Priceless equipment turned into trash.
One bench has survived the destruction and still holds three items. The first is a stripped down and dismantled Laser Rifle like the one you found earlier. A shiny red rectangular cartridge is sitting next to it. The second is some sort of crystalline growth, jagged and wild. It's the same sort of rainbow crystal that you've been seeing everywhere. The third object is a small Values Adjuster that has been pulled apart and dissected, exposing a strange crystal core.

A Jukebox is sitting in the corner and there is a television on the wall with a broken screen. At the other end of the room is a door labelled 'Storage'.
>>
>>33834032
Check Storage.

Grab the battery pack and see what its charge is.
>>
>>33834032
Take the battery, load it into the gun, test fire against some scrap. Then rescue the cell mate.
>>
>>33834073
Maybe we shouldn't put it in just yet.

>'8741, please take the battery pack of the prototype rifle and return it to the Lab for further testing. Tell them that there seems to be a flaw with the recharging process. -Control Cadet Anderson'.

...I'm worried this may have been a slight understatement, and there's something dangerous about the battery.
>>
Guys. We definitely need to kill housemate. The fact that we haven't done it yet is bothering me greatly.
>>
>>33834108
So don't recharge it.

If it's dead, use the control room adjuster to bring up its Charge Value from a safe distance.
>>
>>33834131
>implying he's alie
What. No.

We did better than that. We redeemed Housemate. Washed all his Sin Value away.
>>
>>33834131
We turned its sin to 0; it's not a threat.
>>
>>33834131
How do you kill that which has no life?
>>
>>33834056
>Check Storage, check battery pack

The Storage door is locked! Even with your strength the plastic door simply bends and folds under your attacks. It has what looks like some sort of keycard scanner next to it.

You weigh the red cartridge in your hand. Looks like it has a maxed out Battery Value!

>>33834073

You slide the power pack into your rifle and laugh as the gun lights up. You can shoot whatever you want. You have become death, destroyer of worlds.
You want to test it on some scrap but you also don't. It isn't enough mental dissociation to make you get stressed, fortunately.
>>
>>33834244
Time to enter hi-sec and save Cellmate from the dastardly moustache-free robot!
>>
>>33834244
Go to Speakerbot's room.
>>
>>33834159
>>33834164

I do not care. He needs a shovel to the head ASAP. Not doing so is a mistake.
>>
>>33834244
Test it safely. Use a stick to pull the trigger.
>>
>>33834244
Cue Schwarzenegger music. Let's go rescue a redhead.
>>
>>33834346
Test it on what?

>>33834380
>>33834292
>>33834308

You leave the Lab for now and spin the Interior-facing side of the Doorwheel until it lands on Hi-Sec Cell.
The Hi-Sec Cell is locked with a keypad! For a moment this nearly stumps you until you just enter the code that the Cellmate gave you ages ago. No point in wasting that much thought on that.
006007558

The door opens into the Bedroom that you had dreamt of. Only...it's not quite the same. All the other doors have been barred shut. The bed in the center of the room is currently occupied by an unconscious Cellmate. He is strapped into the bed with flexible plastic restraints.
>>
>>33834440
Wake him up by lightly slapping his face.
>>
>>33834440
Just had to open that closet door. great.

Wait, all the doors are barred? From this side of the doors?

...Check the ceiling for robots.
>>
>>33834440
Advance carefully. Shout to wake him up. If that door closes on us, we're fucked.
>>
>>33834509
And under the bed. Don't approach.
>>
>>33834509
All of the doors seem to be barred from this side, yes. You check the ceiling but nothing seems to be up there.

>>33834524
You shout at the Cellmate but he doesn't respond. And now your throat hurts. You make sure to keep the door to the Entrance Hall open.

>>33834538
You nearly approach until you see a glint of light from the darkness underneath the bed. You can only barely make it out but there is definitely a crouching silhouette lurking in the darkness under the bed.
>>
>>33834683
Tell it to come out with its servos up!

We clearly outrank it in Hats.
>>
>>33834683
Find something to throw under the bed and see if it moves.
>>
>>33834732
"find" something?

It'd be easier to just laser it, or threaten it with lasering.
>>
>>33834683
Aim the gun at it. Demand it step out slowly, keeping itself in view. Back up into the doorway. If it doesn't comply, shoot it.
>>
>>33834753
I want to see what it will do if an object comes into distance with it.
>>
>>33834723
>>33834753
>>33834760

"I s-see you! Step out, keep yourself in view!"
Your hurt throat means that your demands barely come at as more than a squeak but the robot seems to here. You back away to the doorway, ready to quickly abscond to the Entrance Hall if needed.
The hunched robot emerges from underneath the bed. It is unarmed and seems to clearly recognise the weapon you are pointing at it.
>>
>>33834842
>the robot seems to here

Oh goddamnit.
>>
>>33834842
...Uh...Report! Name and current orders.
>>
>>33834842
Point to your hats. Tell him you have more hats than him, that means he is your subordinate.
>>
>>33834842
"Back u-up, away from the bed! Against the wa-all. Any sudden moves and you d-die!"
Then, without ever letting it out of your aim, try to rouse the cell mate.
>>
>>33834944
Don't go full hostage mode unless it doesn't respect our authority. We have two hats and a gun.
>>
"Back u-up, away from the bed! Against the wa-all. Any sudden moves and you d-die!"

The robot slowly steps away from the bed and lines up against the far wall. It moves like a predator, slowly slinking away in the face of a hunter.

"...Uh...Report! Name and current orders."

It pauses before its eyes start to flash again. It doesn't speak of course, it doesn't have a mouth. Does it communicate through eye-flashes alone?
..... ...-- ...-- ....- .-.-.- / .. -- -- --- .-. .- .-.. / --- ...- . .-. ... . . .-. .-.-.- / -.-. .-.. --- ... . - / -.. ..- - .. . ...

"I...I have more hats than you! See! I have two and you have none. You are my s-subordinate."

It slowly shakes its head.
You step closer to the Cellmate, never letting the robot out of your sights and prod the redhead in the face. He doesn't wake.

A tingling rush comes over you as you suddenly feel...vulnerable?

Toughosity Value: 50

You don't understand what's happening.
>>
>>33835110
Get out and lock the door.
>>
>>33835110
Oh fuck. The drugs.

Back up into the hallway. Shoot the Overseer before you close the door and lock it behind you.
>>
>>33835110
Get out, now. Close and lock the door.
>>
>>33835110
We'd better come back here through the dream-to-reality closet later so we're not so vulnerable....

...except the robot barred the Closet.

I'd shoot the bar of the closet door, but that'd take the laser off the Overseer.
>>
>>33835236
>>33835206
>>33835162

You get out as fast as you can, closing the door behind you. You don't know how to lock the door but it should be fine. A Hi-Sec Cell shouldn't let anyone without a hat leave.
You very nearly shoot the robot as you do so but only part of you really wanted to and you want to conserve your Battery Power.

As you get back into the Entrance Hall, you stumble as your body locks and slows down.

Quickness Value: 50

A code, maybe?
>>
>>33835313
>5334. IMMORAL OVERSEER. CLOSET DUTIES

That's its Name Value, anon.

>>33835311
Hurry back to our room and eat some weed before we lose consciousness.
>>
>>33835311
Shit, maybe those dream plants aren't permanent.

>Go back to the lab and grab a crystal.
>>
>>33835340
and... put the Dream Value to shore up ailing Quickness and Toughosity?
>>
>>33835340
>>33835365

Should you go back to the Lab or the Garden? In the end this question doesn't matter as before you can do anything, an Overseer steps out from the Laboratory.
Unlike the thing with the Cellmate, this is a proper Overseer, moustache and all. It looks scuffed and beaten up, with a particularly large dent in its torso. Its hat is missing.

You sway as you slow down even further. Where did that one come from? What's going on?

Quickness Value: 25
>>
>>33835311
Go to the control room. Maybe someone is fucking with our stats?

Actually, let's see if the monitors show the hi sec room now.
>>
>>33835484
Oh fuck it's one of ours.

Use diplomacy. The best kind of diplomacy.

The laser-based kind.
>>
>>33835520
By which I mean laser it full of holes till it stops moving.
>>
>>33835484
Open fire
>>
>>33835484
Shoot right into that dent, and then into one of its legs.
>>
As you raise your Laser Rifle to fire at the Overseer, the door behind you clicks and swings open. The door, which had lead to the Hi-Sec Cell only a moment ago now opens to the Barracks. Standing in the doorway is another hatless and damaged Overseer, a miniature Doorwheel in its hands.

You fire and blast the Overseer coming out of the Laboratory to molten slag but as you turn to fire at the one behind you, you notice something awful.
Battery Value: 0

After just one shot? The weight of the rifle in your hands seems to double as power just seeps out of you.
Strength Value: 50

The Overseer with the Doorwheel grabs you by the arm and with its other hand, shuts the door behind him. It swings open again a moment later, revealing it now open to your Bedroom. Another Overseer is waiting there, grappling you immediately.

Strength Value: 25

The two robots frogmarch you back into your Bedroom, pinning you to your bed. Every door in your Bedroom is hanging ajar and your belongings are scattered everywhere.

Through one of the open doors you can see down into the Basement, where a fourth battered Overseer operates the Value Adjuster, having apparently rescued it from the hole.
Of course, it's all so simple. That machine was never meant to help you. It was to control you. The code you used to unlock it (FourSeer_0034) had been theirs all along.

The Overseers keep you pinned until someone knocks at your Closet door.
1/2
>>
>>33835807

The Overseer that was in the Basement opens it and the robot that had been with the Cellmate enters the room. No. That's not quite correct. This robot may be another of the same slouched, barefaced model but it's different from that one, it's your own personal jailer.
The Overseers give the Immoral Overseer a wide berth and you almost fancy that you can feel disgust from their moustachioed faces. The Immoral Overseer pulls a canister full of clear fluid from its chest compartment as it approaches.

You struggle, trying to break free but they keep you immobile while the your jaw is pulled open and the canister forced into your mouth. It tastes absolutely awful and it sets your vision swimming.

You lose consciousness.

...

You slowly wake, bright light setting your brain on fire. It's the real world. You feel groggy and barely able to think, even though you just slept for who knows how long.
Your Bedroom has been tidied, everything back into its proper place. Surprisingly, you still have everything that was in your Inventory except for your Hatstack.
There is a plastic band wrapped around your ankle.
>>
>>33835927
Dammit, they'll know if we leave our room now with that location tracker band.

Only one way to escape. Hope they left the impostor weeds alive.
>>
>>33835927
Examine the band. Then investigate the Garden and Basement.
>>
>>33835927
>>33835807
Remember how I was saying we should be wary of turning our body to crystal? Fuck that. Let's do it. Let's crystallize the hell out of ourself. Maybe that will free us from the Value Adjuster's power.
>>
>>33835927
Inspect our skin, see if there's crystal remaining.
>>
>>33835927
So four personal Overseers, and two Immoral Overseers.

Do Immoral Overseers even have hats? Or were those hats we found in the Men's Room and the Barracks theirs.
>>
>>33835927
Go back to the control room. Use the values adjuster there to give the gun maximum Battery Value.

Then, go to our basement, and shoot the trapdoor where the Overseers are. One shot in that small of a space will slag them all. Before we do that, push our bed against the closet to keep in the Immoral Overseer.

And that's where I think I'll leave it for today. Thread already seems to have been archived by one of you so that's one less job I need to do at least.

Next thread at the usual time tomorrow, exact details on Twitter.

Just posting the address here since I forgot to do so at the start of the thread.
Thanks for participating!

Thank you for running!

Hey, we just have to keep our Values Adjuster where no one else can reach it.

Once we slag or disable the three remaining Overseers and then never, ever open the closet door, it should be cool.
>>
>>33836074
They probably hid the gun and locked the doors again.
>>
>>33836078
That was me. See you tomorrow!
>>
>>33836074
The Immoral Overseer is like a vampire. He can't leave the closet until someone opens it.

It's usually the Overseers that let him in, obviously.
