Previous threads here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Prisoner%20Quest

Previously on Prisoner Quest, you wore a lot of hats and got manhandled by a bunch of robots.

You have just woken back up inside your cell, feeling groggy and awful thanks to the sedative. All of your doors have been closed and your room tidied. Your Hatstack has been confiscated but everything else in your Inventory seems to be untouched.

There seems to be a plastic band tightly wrapped around your leg just above your ankle. That's a little worrying.

Twitter here etc.
https://twitter.com/PrisonerQuest
>>
>>33850549
Check presence of Entrance Hall door. Check the Values Adjuster in the Basement and the imposter weeds in the Garden.
>>
>>33850582
Charge your battery pack
>>
>>33850896
The power pack is currently depleted after only a single shot. You connect your extension cord to it and plug it into the power outlet in the Rumpus Room. It'll take a few minutes for it to max out Battery Value.

>>33850582

Door 8 still seems to be here which is a little puzzling. Why wouldn't they take that away from you? Are they even able to?

The Values Adjuster has been placed back in it's original position on top of a brand-new trapdoor. They don't seem to have reset the password either! Weird.

The Garden is as you left it. Maybe the Overseers don't know anything about the plants. But then again, they were on that warning poster you saw in the Cafeteria. So why wouldn't they?
>>
>>33851048
Review stats?

Start upping Strength Quickness and Touhgosity with the spare beads they must have left behind on it when they lowered them.
>>
>>33851102

You introspect on your current state.

Name Value: ?????
Gender Value: Female
Age Value: 16
Hunger Value: 0
Energy Value: 82
Strength Value: 25
Toughosity Value: 50
Quickness Value: 25
Sin Value: 60
Dream Value: 0

There should be about two hundred spare beads left in the Adjuster but you can only spot a hundred.
>>
>>33851048
Try to contact speakerbot
>>
>>33851161
Weird. Where did they go.

Go grab a dream weed for the extra 100 and max out S, max out T, set Q to 50, and then see what happens when we slowly up Age to 66.
>>
>>33851161
Get back to indeterminate gender, use the minimum amount of drugs to max out dream value, transfer DV into the pool, and repeat.
>>
>>33851166
You pop your laptop open (it's at 68 Battery Value) and send a few chat messages at Speakatron. If the Parental Lock has been reversed, the bot should answer you immediately.

+Hello. Anyone home?+

No response. Which tells you that not only is it still the Cellmate, the Cellmate is still unable to access his computer.

>>33851222
>>33851254

You eat another of the imposter weeds and then shelf your maxed out Dream Value into the spare beads, giving you a full two hundred.

You start fiddling around with the beads, setting your new parameters to as follows:

Name Value: ?????
Gender Value: Indeterminate
Age Value: 16
Hunger Value: 0
Energy Value: 79
Strength Value: 50
Toughosity Value: 100
Quickness Value: 50
Sin Value: 60
Dream Value: 0

You then start slowly ratcheting your Age Value up to 66. Interestingly enough, your physical development seems to stop at around Age Value 21 or so.
After that all increasing the Value does is make the crystal tendrils inside you grow brighter and brighter.
>>
>>33851377
Well it's not like we had any reason left to think we were human anyway.

That still leaves 50 spare beads. Max out Strength.

Actually can we take the Adjuster somewhere like the Gym and lock the door with the Gym Key?

Then, I think, it's time to eat weeds and dream.
>>
>>33851451
And by dream, I mean stick everything from our inventory that can fit into the tarot deck box first before doing so. Keys, etc.
>>
>>33851377
Remember to unplug the battery before going to sleep.
>>
You fiddle around with the Adjuster a little more.

Name Value: ?????
Gender Value: Indeterminate
Age Value: 66
Hunger Value: 0
Energy Value: 79
Strength Value: 100
Toughosity Value: 100
Quickness Value: 50
Sin Value: 60
Dream Value: 0

You know, there isn't really a reason for you to just leave this lying around anymore is there? With a small amount of exertion you pick up the entire machine and deposit into the Gymnasium, which you then lock.

You make your preparations for you dream voyage, unplugging the laser cartridge and putting it back into the weapon as well as stuffing all of your keys into the Deck Box.

With all of that done, you eat a second weed and pass out in your bed. You enter the Dreamworld version of your Bedroom without any complications.

The first thing you do is to grab your Deck Box from the Rumpus Room and summoning all of your various dream items such as the Dream Journal, Snoozepak, Fairy Lantern and the Hobby Horse.
>>
>>33851377
Hell before we dream, drain Energy Value to max out Sin Value and up Quickness Value to 80.
>>
>>33851610
Check Dream Journal.

Go through the television and talk to Mr. 2Spooky.
>>
>>33851610
Find the Dream Values Adjuster and see if you can change your stats here in the dreamworld too. Try moving 40 beads from Energy to Sin.
>>
>>33851639

You scope out your Dream Journal.

http://pastebin.com/jHLDdfAq

>>33851766
You go to the Basement to get a good look at the Dreamworld version of the Adjuster only to find it empty save for the glowing hole in the ground.
Oh right, you just put it in the Gym didn't you?

Dream Value: 95
The Gymnasium arena is deserted, all of the cheering fanatics long since evaporated. The Values Adjuster is sitting here.
You move some of the beads around but you don't see any changes to your Values. It's doing ...something but you can't tell what.
>>
>>33851841
Oh darn.

Well go down into the basement and check for that glint in the depths of the hole.

Take the climbing rope from the Gymnasium with your great STRENGTH and use it to climb down and get the probably-a-key-to-the-Closet-keyhole.
>>
>>33851841
Go into the tv
>>
>>33851933
Why? Check the Journal.

It turns out we haven't remotely met their condition yet.
>>
>>33851841
>????? Ending: 0/3 Complete
Shit. We got set backwards on that one. Used to be 1/3.
>>
>>33851901
You rip the rope from it's intangible bearings. Something invisible breaks in the process. You will never be able to climb the rope to the dark room again.
Well, you can always take the long way round. No biggie.

Dream Value: 94

You use it to scale down the hole in the Basement, which seems to have at least twice the depth as it does in real life. The source of the light is a silvery-white fish the size of your head, floating near the bottom as if it was swimming in mid-air. There are four bowler hats orbiting it.

Dream Value: 93

Man if you came down here earlier you probably could have avoided some trouble. But life isn't clean.
You take the hats, creating the noble and magnificent Quadruple Hatstack once more.

The fish reacts to your presence, snapping out and biting your finger! You hear a whisper in your head but it speaks so quietly that you can't understand it, a dimunitive buzz that spreads all around you.
The fish freezes and transforms into a crystal sculpture before swimming up through your hand and inside your skin.

Dream Value: 90

>>33851933

You climb your way out and make your way to the Rumpus Room where the television awaits you. It's still showing you the same grainy image of the black desert beyond.

Dream Value: 87

You reach the television, losing part of your soul to the dreariness as you do so.

Dream Value: 77

The cloaked figure still refuses to acknowledge you, revolving away from you no matter what you do.
>>
>>33852211
Disregard television. Meet the Sun holding the Fairy Lantern.
>>
>>33852211
Go back to the sun. Might as well absorb it.
>>
>>33852249
>>33852251

"Fine! B-be that way!"

You struggle your way angrily out of the television desert until you're back in the Rumpus Room.

Dream Value: 67

You go back to your Bedroom and open Door 8 to reveal the rainbow bridge and ignoring the treacherous path that leads downwards, travel up the sloping bridge until it goes high enough to intersect with the sun itself.
Look at that damn thing, thinking it's so cool just because it's a celestial body. Well you've pulled down stars before.
"Get in here!"

You pull the Fairy Lantern out of your 'pak and hold it out in front of you like a shield as you advance. The heat increases and nearly becomes too much for even you but at the very last moment the sun dims, its light trapped in your Lantern.
It flickers and dims before bursting apart in a rain of crystallised rainbows that briefly struggle for freedom before being drawn past your event horizon.

With the Sun gone, you can now see that the rainbow bridge splits once again. You can follow the main bridge down a rather suddenly steep angle towards the ground or follow a much narrower split path further upwards through the highest clouds.
>>
>>33852453
Follow the narrow path
>>
>>33852498
we moon now
>>
Dream Value: 57

You climb higher and higher until you come to the very end of the road. You have climbed past the sky and into the void of space. There are no stars, no suns, no moons. Instead the cosmos is painted in a mixture of purples and blues as if you were in the middle of a great nebula.
The curvature of the planet below you is clearly visible, a dull yellow ball covered in frozen sand.

Waiting for you is a woman in a strapless dress. She's rather plain, almost ugly and she holds a scale in one hand and a sword in the other. After her the rainbow disappears.
End of the line.
>>
>>33852740
Well... crap.

Check Dream Journal. Greet her.

But we probably should go back and get The Devil instead. And try shoving the Monolith.
>>
>>33852843
Wait, cancel that trip back to Devil/Monolith. Try the unexplored main bridge after talking to her.
>>
>>33852740
Talk to her.
>>
"Hello?"

You retrieve the Dream Journal from your 'pak and open it.
http://pastebin.com/W42AWJcE

The woman ignores your greeting and lunges forward, sword aimed for your chest! You jump back, teetering at the very edge of the road, an infinite fall awaiting below you.
"I-I'll take that as a no?"

You back away from her sword and backtrack, making your way to the arch where the Sun used to be. You can't help but notice that the sky down here has disappeared, the endless nebula above now the only illumination.

Dream Value: 54

This time you take the narrow path leading down instead. This path is really steep and slippery, making it hard for you to keep your grip. It slowly begins to even out but you still wouldn't want to run down it.

You've made it almost halfway towards the ground when you spot someone sitting on the side of the bridge, their legs dangling over the side. She's a young petite woman with messy black hair wearing a gray shirt and a skirt. She's holding a mangled white hobby horse, twin to the black one the Chariot gave you.

Dream Value: 50

She turns as you approach. She has no face, just an eyeless skull.
“The end is nearly in sight. They take your eyes and try to convince you it’s what’s right. They’ll break your legs if they have the chance. Don’t walk, run.”

She sits side-saddle on the horse puppet and starts to slide away you quickly down the slope.

You're not sure what to think about this.
>>
>>33853259
I think to check the Journal or get on the hobby horse and race her, cuz shit just got real.
>>
>>33853259
Follow her
>>
>>33853313
>>33853368

You flip through your Journal again, giving her precious seconds to widen her lead.
http://pastebin.com/z9kd8GgT

You pull the Hobby Horse out of your 'pak and awkwardly mount it. How is this thing supposed to work anyway? Do you just- woah!

You start running down the bridge after her, the Hobby Horse boosting your Quickness Value by +30 at the very least!

Emboldened by your new steed, you give chase. She’s going very fast but nowhere near as fast as you. You speed up to catch her, narrowing the distance between you. Nearly there...nearly there…

You're going way too fast.

You slip off the edge, falling off the bridge. There is nothing but darkness below. You fall for a few long seconds and then there is a flash of pain and you wake up in the real world.

You can't see. Or more accurately, you can see TOO MUCH. Everything you see erupts into a cornucopia of blinding light as you rub your eyes furiously.
Your sight slowly returns to mostly normal. Everything is still way brighter than before though.

There also seems to be a tenth door in your Bedroom all of a sudden.
>>
>>33853504
>There also seems to be a tenth door in your Bedroom all of a sudden.

Should be NINTH. I am just on fire tonight, I can tell. Been a little too distracted.
>>
>>33853504
Oh great. She gave us back our eyes.

Check the Doorwheel label in the Basement.
>>
>>33853504
Inspect the ninth door. Go through.
>>
>>33853504
Check Appearance Value.
>>
>>33853638
First things first, you make your way to the Bathroom to check yourself out in the mirror. Your crystal veins have stopped merely reflecting light and are shining with their own light, tracing a shining network through suddenly translucent skin.
As for your eyes...your iris and sclera seem to have vanished entirely. Your eyes are a patterned mix of blueish-green with purplish hues creeping in around the edges. As you watch the patterns seem to swirl and change over time, drifting like nebulae dust. If you look close enough, you can just barely make out what might be stars.
It makes you feel a little sick. Looking at it makes it seem as if what's in your eyes is bigger than the rest of you. That's messed up. You screw your eyes up and blink until they go back to mostly normal. You'll have to concentrate if you don't want them to slip back though.

>>33853618

You check out the Doorwheel in the Basement. Door 9 is labelled as 'Bar'.

Wait, really?

>>33853619

You open the new door step inside. You step back out almost immediately afterwards. There's a robot in there!

You peek back in. The room is large but in a way that conspires to somehow seem small. Just like the rest of your cell, it's fashioned out of plastic but a plastic that has been tinted to vaguely resemble hardwood.
Taking up most of the room is bar, the shelves behind of which are filled with glass bottles. A hunched Immoral Overseer stands behind the bar, polishing it with a grimy cloth.

A pool table is off to the side and there is a jukebox sitting in the corner.
>>
>>33853888
Sit at the bar and ask what's good.
>>
>>33853888
Tentatively greet Immoral Overseer and ask its name and what it does/offers here.

Fondle the balls in the pool table.
>>
"Good morning? What's your name? W-what do you do?"
Goddamnit, can you just stop stuttering for once in your life? It's not like you're actually afraid or nervous, it's basically a speech disorder at this point.

The robot just flashes its eyes at you mysteriously.
.-- .... .- - .----. ... / -.-- --- ..- .-. / .--. --- .. ... --- -. ..--..

After fondling the pool balls (they're made out of hard plastic) you settle down at the bar.
"W-what's good?"

The Immoral Overseer grabs a bottle and a plastic 'glass', pouring you a glass of something blue.
>>
>>33854281
Down the hatches.
>>
>>33854371
Uh, maybe we shouldn't drink things the Immoral Overseer gives us.
>>
>>33854403
It'll be good.

As you may have noticed, I've been a bit busy today and thus distracted when it comes to updating. It's not getting any better so I'm just going to end this thread prematurely and archive it, sorry.

Next thread will be up tomorrow, twitter will have further details an hour beforehand.
>>
>>33854538
No problem. See you tomorrow.
>>
>>33854538
Aw. Well here's to getting poisoned.
