You are Reinhold, master swordsman and victor of the Royal Swordsmanship Tournament. The King was so impressed with your skill, he personally requested that you be transferred out of the army and into the Royal Guard! Not bad for an orphan who was raised in a brothel in a poor fishing village.

The only issue at this point is your assignment... you've been charged to be the personal guard of the King's only daughter Marianne. While she is the vision of loveliness that you'd expect from a Princess, her personality is... well... she seems to have some issues.

This restaurant trip has been both good and bad. On the good side, you got to eat a DELICIOUS meal. And on the bad side, you kind of pissed Luciana off with a joke you made.

But she doesn't seem to be holding it against you... right?

>Congratulations, you are now a timid LLAMA!
>Llamas are strong and hardy... but also rather skittish.
>The Princess considers you to be her friend!
>But while llamas may be majestic, they still don't count as people.

"Did everyone enjoy their food?" the waitress asks.
"It was great," Nicolette says, giving her a thumbs-up.
"Yes, the food was delicious," Luciana nods.

You and the others also give your thanks for the wonderful meal.

"Would anyone like any seconds, or perhaps dessert?" the waitress asks.
"No thanks," Luciana shakes her head. "I think we've all good for today."
"Actually, could I get a take-out order of sushi?" you ask. "Ummm... the eel, ten... no, fifteen pieces."
"Certainly!" the waitress says. "I'll have it for you right away!"

And true to her word, the waitress comes back a few minutes later with a small box.

"Here you go!" she says, handing it to you.

>>34659670
Err... Don't remember the specifics so hopefully some anons can fill the gaps.
A guy from PGQ moved into a house with some roomies and there was a girl playing artist and going door-to-door selling her drawings and he bought one and put it on his fridge.
The months went by and his situation with his roomies broke down, bedrooms were toxic levels of filthy, PGQ-Anon was the only one making sure bills were paid, things were clean etc. Couldn't put up with it anymore and decided he was leaving, one of the guys he was with flipped the fuck out as if Anon was betraying him. Anon eventually took his stuff but forgot the drawing on the fridge. Mentioned all this in a thread, got told to go back and get the drawing, after a few weeks he went back, it was still there, he took it to his new place.
>>
>>34659932
She'll likely wolf it down before we're out of the restaurant.
Also, I don't think any establishment would offer a take-out service if their food turns instantly rancid.

After you take the box, she produces a bill... and it's kind of high, though not overly so. Looking at the items listed, Nicolette's order was the most expensive part of it. But the King gave you a crazy money for this trip and so you pay for everything just like you said you would.

"Er, let me get your change," the waitress says, looking down at the large number of coins you handed her.
"Nope, keep it," you say.
"Eh!?" she stares at you. "Even as a tip, this is..."
"My brother's a big spender today," Citrine says, slapping you on the back, "Just think of it as thanks for a job well done!"
"Um- well-" the waitress seems completely flustered. "Thank you for your patronage!" she says with a deep bow.

With your dining finished with, you and the others get up from the table and make your way to the door.

"You really must've liked that sushi if you'd go so far as to order takeout," Nicolette says, grinning at you.
"Yeah, this stuff was great," you nod.

And then you hand her the box.

"...huh?" Nicolette blinks a few times. "What, you're still sore about that day that we made you carry our stuff?"
"I'd actually forgotten about that," you sigh.
"Then why're you expecting me to carry your food for you?" she asks. "I know those skinny sketchbooks aren't so heavy that you can't handle-"
"That takeout order was for you," you say, pointing for extra emphasis. "Since you liked the sushi even more than I did."
"Uh..." Nicolette looks down at the box in her hands. "Thanks, man!"

As you leave the restaurant, you notice the waitress bowing to you a second time. That tip really must have made her day. And Nicolette's busy making plans with Melanie for the best time to eat the sushi... and to help her out, Luciana casts some kind of cold spell on the container in order to keep the sushi fresh until they decide to eat it.

Luciana still seems kind of mad at you... and you honestly can't blame her, that joke it was kind of insensitive now that you think about it. Better try and patch up things before this starts to turn into a grudge.

An angry girlfriend is the last thing you want.

"...VIolette?" you call out to her once you're outside the restaurant.
"What is it?" Luciana replies. "I'm not sure that my -fiancé- would appreciate another boy acting so familiar with me, so please make it quick."
"Ugh..." you clutch your temples.

>[1/?]
>>
>>34661145
That is a very common idea in anime. But that aside. There's a big problem; Reinhold broke Nicolette's best friends heart to be with Nicolette's cousin. I'm not sure Nicolette would still want to get together with Reinhold if he breaks up with Luciana.

The only way this would work is if Luciana was the one to break up with Reinhold. Reinhold would then go to Nicollette and Melanie for comfort.

Luciana might decide that spending the rest of her life with someone so completely different than her isn't something she's ready for. She's already constantly forgetting he doesn't know things. She obviously doesn't know what she's getting into.

"That I'm marriage material?" Luciana cuts you off.
"No!" you stammer. "That's not what I meant at all I was just following off of Marius's joke and took it too far!"
"Hmph."

Luciana turns away from you, her arms crossed and her nose turned up in the air. It almost feels like you're with Marianne right now.

"Violette," Takamaru places his hand on her shoulder. "You know that he didn't mean to offend you."
"But still..." she grumbles.

Luci can't handle the bantz.

I told you guys Rana was best girl, she wouldn't get mad at a joke.
>>
>>34661912
That's a pretty unlikely scenario. Rein's not perfect but she knew that from the get go, he was always "as good as she'll ever get" given her political importance, rather than the "10/10 wud die 4 husbando" Sylvie saw him as.

Plus, Sylvie aside, Nico probably quite likes Rein and Luci as a couple, seeing as she, at least historically, has the hots for both of them, together we'll be exponentially sexier in her eyes.
>>
>>34662140
She'd take it as a proposal.
>>
>>34661912
Melanie would probably be the best at comforting someone.

>>
>>34662079

After letting out a long sigh, Luciana turns to you.

"Very well," she says, her arms still crossed. "I want to go to a bookstore. I assume you know where one is, right?"
"Yeah, I think there's one over that way," you say, pointing in the direction of the one that you've gone to with Marianne several times.
"Then lead the way."

She's still kind of mad. Or she's at least acting like she's still kind of mad... though you can't imagine why she'd act mad while not being mad.

"What's wrong?" Citrine asks, noticing that you're kind of distressed.
"Nothing," you sigh. "Girls are confusing, that's all."
"They sure are," Marius nods solemnly.

"Sorry..." Citrine mumbles. "It was fun, but me and Marius should probably get going around now."
"Really?" you ask, unable to hide your displeasure.
"It's the busy city life, you know?" Marius shrugs. "But this was fun, thanks for-"

"You know, reaching into other people's pockets is a pretty good way to lose your fingers," you say as you tighten your grip on the kid's wrist. "Or maybe the entire hand."
"Or worse," Citrine says, cutting the pickpocket the kind of deathglare that you haven't seen from her in years.

The thief's look of utter horror is more than enough to prove that Citrine still hasn't lost her touch.

"R... Reinhold!?" the boy gasps. "Y- you're -that- Reinhold!? The one who won that sword tournament!?"
"You do see this thing resting at my hip, right?" you say, patting your sword.
"Looks like your reputation's preceded you," Nicolette says, joining in the fun with an evil grin.

While he's somewhat star/panic struck, get his name. He knows our name, after all, and fair's fair.

Then once he's told us
>give him his warning and go about your business

Let him know that now that we know his name, we can totally be able to find out if he ends up getting in trouble with the law, and if he does we're going to be really upset that stepped all over our good will in letting him off with a warning this time.

It's more of a way to scare the kid from doing anything else. He's already star-struck from meeting Reinhold and most likely holds us in very high regard. Telling him that we can find out if he gets in trouble or not is like telling a little kid that Santa knows if they're naughty or nice.
>>
>>34664201
We could probably ask someone with the town guard to let us know if he ends up getting brought in, but that's not really the point..

The important thing is that even if we can't keep tabs on him, that doesn't mean he knows that.

"Nicolette, don't you know some folks in the City Guard?" you ask.
"A couple of the other captains, yeah," Nicolette replies.
"...-other- captains?" Roger gasps.
"Oh, you didn't know?" Citrine laughs. "Nicolette here's a Captain in the Royal Guard!"

It honestly feels like he's about to have a heartattack any minute now, you should probably start winding this down.

"Well give them a description and the name of Roger here an tell them to come down -extra- hard on him if he tries this kind of thing again," you say.
"Will do," Nicolette replies.

With that out of the way you pull Roger to his feet.

"Now you understand what'll happen if you don't cut this pickpicketing shit out, right?"
"Y... yes sir..." Roger replies, on the verge of tears.
"And you're not gonna do it again, RIGHT?"
"I'll never pickpocket again, sir!" he yelps.
"Good," you nod. "Now get out of here."

Without another word, the failed pickpocket runs away from you as fast as his legs will carry him.

"Well that was an experience that I hoped that I'd never have again," Citrine says, sighing as the pickpocket runs out of sight.
"Tell me about it," you sigh. "You gonna be alright, Citrine?"
"Psh," she puffs out her chest. "I might be pregnant but I'm not fragile. It takes a lot more than that to rattle me."
"You should still be careful, though," Marius says, taking her hand.
"I know..." she sighs. "Sorry that our little get-together had to end on such a crappy note, Reinhold."
"It doesn't change the rest of the day," you shrug. "And it's always nice to see you so I'm not complaining."
"I know you wouldn't!" Citrine says, hugging you.

After some more tearful goodbyes in which Citrine takes the time to hug each and every one of your friends (including Takamaru, much to his dismay), she and Marius head off to take care of their own business.

The atmosphere amongst the five of you after you part ways with Citrine and Marius is... weird. Luciana's still kind of annoyed with you and Melanie's kind of spooked by the way that you and Citrine handled the pickpocket and it's not at all comfortable. And while you'd definitely like to solve al your problems at once, it's probably best to take care of things as they come.

"Hey Takamaru," you say in a hushed voice.
"Hm?" he turns to you.
"...what do you think I could do to make up to her for that joke?" you ask. "I think she's still mad at me."

Takamaru simply look at you with a pained smile.

"You do understand that you made a joke about marrying her, right?" Takamaru asks.
"...yeah..."
"And you realize that this is a rather delicate subject for her, yes?'
"I know," you sigh. "Probably should have thought things through. So what do I do now?"
"Well," he says, glancing over at his charge, "there's only one surefire way to make up for -that- joke."
"And that is?"
"Ask her to marry you for real."

You nearly fall over.

It's even worse when coming from someone who's usually serious all the time.

She definitely didn't react like that the last time you were here together.

Better start with the easy request first.

"do you have cookbooks here?" you ask.
"Of course," Mr. Marchamp nods. "What kind of cookbook were you looking for?"
"Something with Eastern food," you say.
"Eastern... yes, that sort of thing's been growing in popularity thanks to the King of Marconetti's open interest in that region of the world..."

Kind of surprising that Celestino's whims would even affect the markets over here.

"Was there a particular type of dish that you were looking for, or was this just for Eastern cuisine in general?" Mr. Marchamp asks.
"Sushi, mainly," you reply. "But if the book has other stuff too, that'd be great."
"Alright, let me check the stock list in back to see what I have."

With that, the old man disappears into the back room. And just a you're starting to wonder if he's alright, he comes back with a thick cookbook in tow.

"Here you go," Mr. Marchamp says as he lets the heavy tome drop onto the counter. "This one's nice and comprehensive... and it has several sushi recipes, just like you asked. I doublechecked for you before I brought the book out here."
"Thanks," you nod. "There's one other thing that I was looking for..."
"Oh? What might that be?"
"Well my girlfriend's into collecting grimoires," you explain. "And I'd like to get something for her, so I thought that that'd be a good idea for a gift."
"Grimoire... collecting?" Mr. Marchamp seems surprised. "That's a rather odd hobby for a young lady."

"No, she's actually younger than I am," you reply, laughing nervously.

Any allure that older women may have had for you was lost long ago. Just thinking about it makes you sick to your stomach.

And even ignoring that, you only know one person who could be descried with such a title who collects grimoires, and there are at least ten people you can think of who would try to kill you if you even -thought- of pursuing her.

"Well, far be it from me to disparage a young lady with an interest in learning from those who came before her," Mr. Marchamp says, shrugging.
"And I'm always happy to get rid of old stock..."
"You mean you have one?" you ask.
"Oh, I have -several-," he replies. "I get these things in from time to time, but there isn't much public interest in them so they just kind of gather dust in the back room," he sighs. "I'd have to make sure, but I think I have three of them."

"I'll take all three of them," you say.
"Er, are you sure?" Mr. Marchamp asks. "I'm more than willing to give a discount on them, but even with that it's still a lot of money to spend on only three books..."
"It's fine," you reply. "I can afford it. Oh, and I'll also pay for whatever my friend over there happens to get," you say, pointing to Luciana.
"If you say so," the old man shrugs.

And so, the old man once again retreats into the back room in order to fetch the three grimoires. Spaced maybe twenty minutes apart, he returns with one book and then returns to the back to retrieve the next. And even after all three of them have been brought to the front, it still takes Luciana another halfhour before she's finally ready to leave.

"I'll take these two," Luciana says, handing Mr. Marchamp the books that she settled on.
"Oh, nice choice!" the old man nods. "This one right here was an excellent read, and the other just came out maybe a week ago. I myself haven't even gotten a chance to read it yet."
"Well now I'm looking forward to reading them even more," Luciana laughs. "How much will they be?"
"Ah, your friend here said that he'd be taking care of it so you don't have to worry," he replies, pointing to you.
"...I see."

With the book shopping finished with, you pay for everything (while expensive, it's not overly so), then wave goodbye to the shopkeep as you leave with your purchase.

Much to your appreciation, Takamaru offers to hold the bag containing two of the grimoires while you take care of the remaining one along with the rest of your purchases for the day.

"It's a gift for my friends," you say. "And I've paid for everything else today, what's a couple pairs of earrings?"
"Just give up," Luciana sighs. "He's not going to give up until you let him buy you the earrings, so just accept the gesture so we can move on."
"If you say so..." Melanie replies.

With that settled, you pay the jeweler for both pairs of earrings. The sheer cost of such small pieces of jewelry never stops being a shock to you... but it's for a good cause- making your friends happy!

And when you get back to the castle, Thierri gets to take credit for everything so he wins too! You're just... yeah, you're simply acting as the agent of his generosity.

"That's it for us, I think," Nicolette says, putting on her brand-new earrings as the five of you make your way outside. "Melanie?"
"I thought you wanted that wine?" Melanie replies, having already put hers on.

The matching earrings really are cute, but you'll probably get a punch to the face for actually saying so you keep that little comment to yourself.

"Oh yeah..." Nicolette sighs. "Well we can pick that up from anywhere, it doesn't matter."

And then she turns to you.

"And this is one situation where you and Thierri's money isn't wanted, you got it?" Nicolette pokes you in the chest. "I've got this one."
"Uh, okay?" you reply.
"What's so important about some wine?" Luciana asks. "Your father has huge collection back at your house, and you could probably- OH."

Once again, you seem to have touched on -that- subject.

King's gold not good enough for you, R-Hold?
To the dungeons!
>>
I'm kinda really hoping the king wants the change
And we've spent all the money
>>
>>34669606
If they don't want people to know they shouldn't talk about it in front of everyone

Fucking retards
>>
>I've paid
The King, did, actually. And I hope we've stored all the receipts to document expenses for him (or whoever is in charge of treasury)
>>

Bad at keeping secrets.
Including late-night sexytimes plans.

"Um..." you speak up, "...we're picking up the cake next, right?" you ask.
"Yeah, unless you guys wanted to do something else," Nicolette replies.
"Wouldn't it be a good idea to go to the carriage first, then ride it directly to the bakery? That way, we can get the cake without having to worry about carrying it around and risking dropping it."
"Hm, that's a good idea," Luciana replies. "Let's do that. Any objections?"
"It's fine with me," Melanie replies.
"It's be nice to put my feet up after al this making," Nicolette shrugs.

>go to marianne interlude (will span until reinhold's arrival at the castle)
>stay with cake getting times
>>
>>34669687
It's narritively convenient.
>>
>>34669670
uh, why? Aquaman basically gave us a sack of dosh and said,"get them something nice."
He didn't take this money directly from the treasury, he just happened to have the sack on him. Which he gave us. We also told them about it, before we got to the city.
So acting like we're doing the king a disservice by not rubbing their faces in the fact that the king is bankrolling the trip isn't actually accomplishing anything more than making you look like a prick.
The receipt thing actually has me wondering if they even bother with receipts though.
>>34669676
do the shopkeepers give out receipts, or does the crown trust them not to try and screw them with taxes, or is there just a flat tax on whatever gets taxed?

Who said this line?
>>
>>34669803
well we don't even know if they have income or sales tax here. Maybe they just pay house or land tax.
>>
>>34669606
Everyone is getting some except for Reinhold. And this is when literally every girl from the little kids to hot moms want his dick.
>>
>>34669872
maybe. Maybe they have enough export and import to thrive off of trade and tariffs.
>>
He haven't done a Marianne interlude before, have we?
It'll anyway be great to get inside her head for a bit.

We did during the duel and when she had her chat to Luci about Rein

Any preferences between first and third-person?

Didn't Mari think that what she was doing today would be unbearably boring?
Why did we choose this? It's going to be like her etiquette lessons but 3 times longer.

10 gold coins on Luci's house.

This quest is so unfair.
>>
>>34670081
>and isn't allowed to have sexytimes till marriage
Implying it won't take Rein years to get over his psychological trauma.
>>
>>34670000

I always associated first person with Monique in this quest but since he's pretty much gone I don't mind either way.

New thread.
>>
>>34670121
That is probably the scene I want the most. Reinhold overcoming his fears and having consensual sex in the missionary position for the purpose of procreation. Don't even care if it is fade to black or not as long as we get the lead-up to it.
>>
>>34670168
What if it turns out Reinhold has a smaller than average penis?
>>
>>34670183
Even if he does, what metric of comparison would Luci have?

Really doesn't matter either way unless Giancarlo ropes them into something weird.
>>
>>34670136
He does have a lot of triggers

I wanna see that too

He's the MC, meaning his dick is by definition the best there is.
