With a final sigh I push the door open, well-greased hinges -wait do they even need grease in place like this, whoa, who cares- making barely as sound as we stare upon the scenery inside.

The room beyond the door is lower than the barely-visible ceiling of the corridor and seems to have the shape of a hexagon. Inside, robed priests are slowly circling around a stone altar that seems made of a similar material as the rest of this place, purple smoke curling up from its center an upwards towards the distant ceiling.

This seems to be going better than I expected. I mean it's still a little upsetting and that person animal priest is super strange but so far they haven't tried to bite our heads off -either by speaking or by ACTUALLY biting them off, I mean, he probably COULD bite them off if he tried- so it could really be worse!

What I need to take care of is Eriadne now, she really doesn't seem to be taking this all that well and what use is getting what we want here if she loses her smile while we do it, right? I'm probably really terrible at comforting anyone, but if I don't do it, there is going to be nobody else to do it. A badly-done job really is better than a job not done at all, I'm sure Pa would agree there.

As we slowly follow the priest, he begins a new chant, and while I can't make out the words it seems to be one of welcome, telling us to respect the halls we walk through in solemn tones like distant funeral bells, the candeces rising and falling like distant tides broken upon sharp white rocks.

In this moment, I feel that even words such universal words such as "good, evil, law or chaos" would be too weak to describe what lies beyond, a realization that at once fills me with unspeakable unease and a sense that whatever strange designs AKAZU has in his infinitely complex mind they wouldn't be meant to harm us unless we broke our promises.
