"D- Daddy!" Valerie turns to Sir Vincent, who's halfway through eating a piece of cake himself. "Hurry, get Racquel away so she can't see... THAT!" she says, pointing to the scene of pure lewdness that's taking place in front of them.

Having decided that you've had more than enough embarrassment for one day, you walk over to where Marianne is (along with the cake) and decide to stick by her for the rest of the time that you're down here in the dining hall. It seems that Marianne's had the same idea, as she seems to be even more quiet than usual aside from a two-minute period when Luciana aside and (most likely) tells her off for making a scene.

You're not 100% sure about that since you had the good sense to stay out of it, but that's what you're assuming that Marianne did.

"Hey Marianne?" you call out to the Princess shortly after the aforementioned telling-off.

Deciding that this is his cue to head home, Sir Vincent calls his two younger daughters together to say goodbye to everyone before they leave.

With the prime devours of pastries out of the way, the others follow suit and bid the Princess farewell as they head off to take care of whatever they were going to do before the night is over... and soon, there's only Marianne and her father, Luciana and her bodyguard, Arnaud, and you left in the dining hall.

"Thanks for the fun time, Marianne!" Luciana says, waving cheerfully to her friend as she makes her way to the door. "I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Yes, yes," Marianne sighs. "Tonight's festivities were mostly enjoyable, I guess..."

I'd hope that it'd be rolled into Marianne wanting to save cake for covert midnight snack trips since the two whole bottom layers of the cake seems a mite excessive for those purposes.

"I actually bought you -three- grimoires," you reply, letting your bag rest on the ground while you retrieve the other two books that you bought for her.

Filled with excitement, Luciana looks down at the cover of the grimoire that you handed her and then at the covers of the ones that you're holding up. The way that she's obviously struggling to keep from jumping up and down like Elena almost makes you wish that you'd bought her more, if only to see how many it would take for her to abandon all pretense of restraint.

Completely giddy, Luciana hurries past you and rests the grimoire that she's holding on the seat of the carriage so that she can comfortably flip through it.

"Field notes of Veran Perier..." Luciana mumbles under her breath as she reads the title page. "Ooh, I remember Aunt Ariane mentioning that she had one of the grimoiores that he wrote... yes, this definitely looks interesting."

Closing the book, Luciana spins around and snatches one of the ones that you're holding out of your hands and turns back to the carriage so that she can do the same with this second book.

"Aimee Gaucher's private spell collection...?" Luciana seems surprised to read that. "Ooh, this is..." she flips through a few more pages. "...and this is... oh my, this is certainly a find!"

And finally, Luciana takes the third and final book from your hands and opens it right then and there.

"OOH!" She exclaims. "This is by the same mage that Alberto and Giancarlo's..." with each page, her smile grows wider and wider. Finally, she places in the carriage and turns back to you.

You hug Luciana back, holding her just as tightly as she's holding onto you. The moment is so nice that you're almost saddened when she finally eases up on her grip and slides back.

"Looks like I was wrong," you say as you look at her smiling face.
"Hm? Wrong about what?" Luciana asks.

It takes a few moments for Luciana to process just what it is that you're referring to, and she starts blushing furiously when she finally gets it.

That's not exactly a shock, but it does feel kind of weird to actually hear her say it out loud.

"...so all I ask is for you to love me just as much," she says as she hugs you once again, resting her head in your chest for a short while before leaning up, her glistening lips jut begging to be met with your own.

The kiss tastes every bit as sweet as the cake that you two had shared.
