The feeling of sleep wears off from you and you get a better look at things, the place is a void. The only thing here is a mass of grey… stuff its sort of like jelly and flesh but not quite anything. It wasn’t moving before but it is now and mass is forming in focused points along its exterior. You get the feeling this demon is stronger than anything you’ve fought before.

You reach into the stream of magic, fighting the wave of tired as you do so, with your focus divided you pull a little too much from the flow of magic and you can feel it pressing at your uniform.

You shake your head and pull forth a mirror, using a more crude method you throw it at the mass. It shatters and it was unlucky enough to have all of the shards stick into it.

Same problem that Mahou Shonen Quest is having over on /d/; lewd quest, non-lewd enemies that we have to fight.
Combat can get tedious even when the tone of the quest supports it. When there's a mismatch, such as lighthearted funtimes suddenly getting hella violent, enjoyment factor goes way down.

All four of her slam their fist into the pool making it solid again, and shatter it. Flinging the countless shards towards the Sloth demon. It screeches but you get the feeling it has a lot of health left.

Almost as if on queue the Sloth demon begins taking more shape, apparently deciding you’re more a bother than trying to kill you.

Its ten feet tall, wrapped in a comforter, its sitting on a floating pillow that looks extremely comfortable. It’s got long black hair, half closed eyes, and is male… probably, “Wouldn’t it just be better if we all went to sleep..?”

Mirror’s after mirrors fly out of the book and before long you have a spear the size of most office buildings hovering above the Sloth demon.

You can’t help but smile as you pull it downwards into the distressed demon, each layer shattering and letting the layer behind it break. Your ears are ringing by the end of it, and Shadow Alex wakes up. The mirrors fade from existence, your book appears in your hand, and a grey core with black aura is sitting where the demon was.

“What happened?” Shadow Alex asks, “I just got really sleepy all of the sudden.”

“Not much, he put you to sleep and then wailed about me not sleeping… so I smashed his face in,” you shrug as you pick up the core.

Shadow Alex smiles and excitedly dances over, “Ah, please feed it to me,” she closes her eyes and opens her mouth wide.
