It is with another one of those flashes that you see every last one of your currently rescued harem appear around you, all clearly ready for a fight.

“You’ve been busy, haven’t you John,” says Melodiana as the sudden appearance of even more strange people causes most of the humans and even some of the angels to draw back even further.

“Yeah,” you say even as you see some of the braver ones start to recover, “But let’s get to Elizasleyn before she gets hit by that guy.”

“Right,” says Melodiana, suddenly turning and diving through a small group of angels, followed by Ragsmuena, both of them easily smashing them out of the way.

“Follow her!” you yell to your group, who all promptly do as you ask, with you in the lead. Akeno and Akitsu provide the most immediate help, with both of them flinging lightning and ice around near indiscriminately, keeping most of the enemies back and taking out quite a few of them anyway. You’re next after Melodiana, but Karasuba is right beside you, giving you one of the biggest grins you’ve ever seen on her face.

“You always take me to such great places lover,” she says, sword idly gutting someone dumb and unfortunate enough to still be in her way, “we must do this again.”

“Maybe later,” you grunt, simply shouldering aside a human who was to petrified to move, “right now we have to get Elizasleyn.”

Karasuba simply grins at you, slapping someone on the side of the head with her sword, which you find remarkably merciful until you realize she was just leaving them for Tatsuko to hit. Being in her berserker mode, even if she seems somewhat calmer than you remember her being, the poor angel goes flying through the air and disappears into the melee.

Chris seems to be taking it relatively easy, simply pointing out the best groups for Akeno and Akitsu to scare away.

Between your massive firepower and skill, the fact that the two sides are pretty intermingled and seeming unsure of what to do about you, you easily make your way to where the hammer guy and Elizasleyn are fighting.

Thankfully she looks none the worse for wear yet, so as she dodges another swipe she darts for your group.

“Thank god!” she says, managing to get behind the front that you, Karasuba and Tatsuko quickly form, “too much more of that and I would’ve had to kill you later.”

“Yeah yeah,” you say, watching as the other protag dude is quickly backed up by his own little gang, which doesn’t look quite like a harem because there are quite a few male or plain monster looking people in it, but it’s still got quite a few ladies in it.

There’s a brief pause as those unfortunate enough to be low ranking NPC’s back the hell away. There’s a twitch of movement from the other side, but nothing more.

As the silence threatens to draw out into a fight, and Karasuba’s threadbare self-control continues to fray, you decide to try and keep the fighting to a minimum. This is kinda weird since you’re in a battle at the moment, but you’ve always been at least a little diplomatic before fighting.

Lowering your sword and stepping forward, you raise your hand in what you hope is a placating gesture.

“Hey,” you say, “So I know that we can all get in a big fight and stuff, but is there any chance you could you know, let us leave?”

You see the group muttering among themselves, there seems to be a group that wants to keep fighting, led by a small pink girl and a dark haired swordswomen, who are being argued against by a busty green clad elf.

They seem to go back and forth a bit, but finally the dude takes control of them and steps forward.

“I have no quarrel with you,” he says, “But Elizasleyn brought this fight to us, she needs to end it.”

Well, originally it was a mechanic to keep Karasuba much stronger than us, even after we reached SWOLE status, so we weren't steamrolling the teacher at her full strength on the second week of school.

Now it just means that she can murder anything that doesn't have plot armour equipped.

You glance at Karasuba, who seems to be breathing heavily.

“I got the hammer guy,” you say.

“Sword-girl is mine,” she says, grinning.

“The one with the most victories wins,” you say.

“You’re going to owe me a massage lover boy,” she says, “Or that wrestling match.”

“You’re on,” you say, then everything seems to happen at once.

You dash forward, heading straight for the hammer dude, who seems to have the same idea about you. You’re faster than him, but you’re sure that hammer will hurt if he manages to hit you with it. But your sword work manages to push him back.

Out of the corner of your eye you see the brown mud girl move to intercept Tatsuko, both of them yelling like demons.
“Uyaaahhhh!” yells the girl

“Raaaaaaggggghhhh!” yells Tatsuko.

The two of them don’t so much start fighting as there is the sound of two mountain colliding, a massive wave of force coming from the two of them as their fists collide. It seems like nothing is happening, but then you see the mud girls arm buckle a little. You grin. That’s your Tatsuko.

You see Chris break past everyone, going for a pair of short kids with bows, who immediately start moving back, trying to get away from her. However she’s faster than they are, closing with two rapiers in her hands. Actually scratch that, she’s throwing them as fast as she can. They cry out as they’re both hit repeatedly still being pursued.

Melodiana moves to intercept the succubus girl. However this seems to go badly for her, as the girl seemingly knows her tricks. Dodging a jab from her spear, the cat-girl swings a wind up punch, hitting Melodiana in the side, causing her to cry out. That doesn’t look good.

Ragsmuena does better, taking the fox thing. In addition to her scythe, she seems to be chucking bits of darkness at him, well you think it’s a him anyway. He doesn’t seem to be doing so hot, unable to get close and when he does he doesn’t seem to be hurting her very much, if at all.

Finally, Akeno and Elizasleyn have engaged the elf chick and the pink girl in a long range magic duel, including the magical arrows that seem to be flying around.

As for Akitsu and Karasuba…

Well, the sword-girl tried to put up a fight, but Karasuba simply jumped forward and smashed through her attempted block, overwhelming her with sheer power, flinging her across the ground in a heap. Then she turns to a giant creature that looks vaguely like something that would come from the sea, a manic grin on her face.

Meanwhile Akitsu is…Akitsu is at the same time nearly freezing what appears to be a girl made out of water and fighting off a lady with many tails on her who’s flinging fire at her as fast as she can. Despite this she looks almost bored and is steadily pushing them back.

“Yuella!” screams the protag, before turning to you. “How?” asks the hammer guy, “How can you be so strong?”

“I fight for my friends!” he yells, pushing you back through brute strength and a weapon you can’t block easily, “I don’t fight for myself.” He manages a couple good hits with the hammer, which hurt, but not nearly as badly as you’ve been before.

“But you don’t fight for love,” you say, managing to finally get enough distance between the two of you for both of you to see what’s happening in the rest of the battle.

Tatsuko is whaling on the brown mud girl, who seems to be trying to fight back, but isn’t doing very well. Chris has pinned the two little kids to the ground with rapiers, they don’t seem to be dead at least and is currently chasing the elf girl around. Melodiana seems to have recovered from the initial blow she received, casting her own sphere of light and casting it at the succubus, who takes the hit just as well as Melodiana took hers, which means not at all. Ragsmuena seems to be doing just fine against the fox. Surprisingly, Elizasleyn is only going after the pink girl now, but you see that’s because Akeno is…trading lightning with a fucking dragon. And not doing too bad it seems. Karasuba is…wrecking the giant creatures shit, it’s too slow to catch her and she seems to be able to cut it with impunity. Meanwhile, the water girl is up to her neck in ice, somehow managing to cry at the same time, while the fox lady is only keeping back the approaching frost by literally burning everything around her with intense heat. She seems to be losing.

“If you fight for your friends, you should surrender,” you say to the boy, “we have no need to fight you, we just wish to leave. Or my friends can finish defeating yours and then you’ll go down as well.”

The other protag looks around, seeing his friends losing to yours.

“Fine,” he says, “I surrender, I just ask you don’t hurt my friends.”

“I don’t hurt anyone who doesn’t deserve it,” you say to him, “Now get your friends to stop fighting while I do the same for mine.”

It takes a few minutes and you nearly have Karasuba try to take your head off, but in the end you get your side, who for the most part are simply breathing heavily, and his side, who are all variously rather beaten up, split up once more. At some point you also realized that the two armies had withdrawn from your fight, both of them now waiting off to their respective sides.

“What now?” asks the boy.

“Now we leave,” you say, looking around, “just as soon as Elizasleyn makes her army leave.”

“I think I can…” she says, turning to the assembled angels and waving her staff at them, communicating with them somehow, as they all suddenly turn and begin flying off. She turns back to you.

“I told them we had proved our point and that I would handle negotiations from here,” she tells you.

“Right,” you say, turning to the guy, “I think we’re done here.”

“What, no demands?” he says, clearly expecting something from you.

“No,” you reply, “I just wanted my girls back.”

“Your girls?” he asks you, looking at the two angels and the reaper, “Why are they yours?”

“Long story,” you say, shrugging, “Maybe someday I’ll let you hear it.”

He opens his mouth to say something, but then closes it and shakes his head.

“I’m not sure what to think of you,” he says, just as you feel a shift starting.

“Most people don’t,” you say, just as there’s another massive flash.

Looking at the people…and things, that are attacking Mehisha, you don’t even hesitate.

“Hit them now,” you say, drawing Karasuba and Akitsu in for quick kisses, “Take these guys out.”

Nobody else hesitates this time, a sudden wave of holy attacks, lightning and a small avalanche of ice impacting the rear of the small attacking horde, wiping out most of the smaller monsters that are crowding around. The rest are wiped out as you and Karasuba hit them, closely followed by Tatsuko, Ragsmuena, Mehisha and Chris, all of you grim faced and serious. Well, Karasuba is the most serious she can be when she gets to kill stuff.

As the tide of the little battle turns in an instant, you see Mehisha’s eyes light up, clearly glad to see you. Her halberd comes down, slashing one of those few still standing, most of who look like humans, with just a few monsters left. This group quickly falls back, licking their wounds as the rest of you gather around Mehisha.

“It is very good to see all of you,” says Mehisha, who appears to be slightly beaten up, but still on her feet, “I would not have lasted much longer.”

“I’m just glad you’re ok,” you say to her, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek, which causes her to blush.

“Who are these guys?” you ask, “What do they want?”

“They want…me,” she says, turning to them, “I possess a power in this world that they need. They mean to take it by the only means they can, which is force.”

“Do you think you could get us out of here?” you say, gesturing to your group.

“Yes,” she says, looking, “but it will take me some time since I’m wounded.”

“Right,” you say, turning to the other group, which appears to be making preparations to attack.
