A cool, black flame, with tongues fringed in gray licking upwards, and, within the core of the thing- which seems, for some reason, to be violet; you suppose it's the equivalent of a blue flame- maybe it's the coldest, but, then again, maybe it's the least cold?

Which is WAY harder than one might think.

You sigh, grit your teeth, complain, and otherwise bemoan having to do it.

But you still do it.

You take the amazingly-lifelike fake person-hide in your hands, give it a stretch, and turn the naked chassis upside-down.

You smile at the thought that you'll be turning the naked chassis into a naked robot, but only briefly.

Your smile ends when you get to work.

It takes two and a half hours of pushing, pulling, swearing, tugging, and shoving, but you get the skin on- and locked in place (not that it's necessary at all, but you'll be damned if you ever have to adjust one of these things).

You're halfway through... whatever meal it is you have at this time, when the front door opens.

Mokarin greets you with the still-jarring combination of an excited hug and a monotone “GREETINGS, MOTHER.”

Naturally, you hug her back and what-not.

Fate follows her in, and you do a double-take. That's a-

She's got the brain already.

In the proper neural setup and everything.

She's also got red splotches all over her.

You sigh and motion for her to put the case on the table.
