Today is August 21st, UC 0084. You are Dominic O'Hara, a Commander in the Titans anti-terror organization and squadron leader of the “Grim Guard”, stationed aboard the SCV-82 Valkyrie. Which is now docked inside another, larger ship: the Nagato. She's an armored helium carrier of the former Principality fleet, one of seven titans like her and the last of those seven still operating. She's so large that a myriad of elevators and high-speed electric train lines are required to move men and materiel where they need to go in a timely fashion.

But right now you've found yourself in the midst of a lull in the schedule of readiness drills and shakedown maneuvers Karen has scheduled: today your ship put in at Londenion to take on fresh supplies of food for a mission that will take you out past Luna-II on the L3 side of the Earth Sphere. Titans thinks that Mars Zeon has sent commerce raiders to hit mining and salvage operations on the far side of Federation territory, and reports indicate they're using at least one Newtype pilot to do it.

In an unexpected complication Carya and Catrina learned a few days ago that they have some business with their family, who have contacts and assets they'll be meeting in Lodenion. They've been a bit cagey about the details, which is understandable given how much of an open wound their disownment still is. Audrey will be busy helping handle the incoming supplies and fuel aboard the ship. All three have encouraged you to take some time off to deal with family matters while you have the chance.

Generally put them at ease, even if their family meet mucks up, we can spend some time afterwards doing something together.

Two birds with one stone. Take the Sisters to visit the family and discuss their family in-transit to meet ours. Can also take Mineva to troll our little brother plus to troll our family.

Newtype, remember? Newtype kids grow extremely fast. Dad will quickly catch on and help us screw with our mother. Then we tell them we captured another Zeon princess since they know we're boning Haman.

>Yellow
Discuss moving them onto the Nagato for the timebeing or helping them relocate to a more secure location. Inform them things are going to get Bad.
>>
>>35877819
Actually, take Serena AND Mineva. She never gets any screen-time. One is thirteen the other is five. It'll be even more entertaining to watch our mother suffer a mental breakdown.
>>
>>35877842
wait who is Serena
>>
>>35877685
Can we take the sisters with us to meet our family?

Mostly to see how they're doing, tell them that we're there if they need us, ask them if they need anything and whether they want to talk about it.
>>
>>35877874
Haman's little sister.
>>
>>35877874
Haman's sister. We nabbed her, Mineva, Natalie, and Char's wingmen.
>>
>>35877878
No, you can't. Because they have their own thing to be doing at roughly the same time.

You COULD try to convince them to take you with them if you wanted. I'll give you an extra ten minutes to discuss it.

Bah. I forgot to added Sayla to the people to take.
>>

Is it because it's Halloween? Are we going to run into Newtype ghosts?
>>
>>35877911
>You can't
>Convince her to take us with her

It's pretty obvious she's walking into a snatch-and-grab or an assassination attempt. Offer to get her something nice that does not involve our D. Preferably a custom-built pistol or Voight's head on a pike. Ask her to wait or come with us temporarily.
>>
>>35877842
I'm not so sure it's a good idea to move around with the princesses minus an escort and having a large group visit the folks will draw unwanted attention, which we probably already have to some degree thanks to gigantoship.
>>
>>35877685
>Talk to the Sisters before they go (write-in)
Ask them if they need any backup on this. Someone shadowing them just in case, you know?

Can we convince Carrina take a few mooks and grunts from the Nagato's security compliment as insurance? She doesn't know what she's walking into, after all.

>>35878047
I doubt we'd expose the luxury yacht we picked up this early. It's already fully stocked and loaded. The Valkyrie on the otherhand wouldn't be. Which is what we'll be using for any meaningful reconnaissance and scouting. Still, getting Mineva out and about is good for her even if it's incredibly risky. Kids been cooped up for too long.

First order of business, you check to make sure your sidearm is loaded: which it is. Safety off, hammer down, round chambered. Typical for a double-action pistol nowadays. Then, you fish a small pocket pistol out of the drawer by your bed and tuck it in your waistband before dashing out the door to catch the sisters before they leave.

Carya smiles and waves you over. "Here to see me off?" she asks, forcing a chipper tone.

"You've got your sidearm, right?" you ask

"Sure, loaded and ready to go. What's that?" Carya asks, eying you as you produce the pocket pistol: a narrow little thing designed to be tucked into a pocket or bag and all but disappear.

You give her a nervous grin. "I don't trust your family," you admit, "and I don't think you should either. I know you're hoping for the best... so at least tell me you've planned for the worst."

Carya and Catrina throw their arms around you immediately after checking the second pistol and tucking it away.

"I know you're worried," they tell you. "But this is something I have to do."

"I'll feel you wherever you are," you reassure them. "If anything happens, I'll come running."

Carrina gives you a sad smile. "I hope you don't have to."

And then she turns to walk down the gantry into the colony. You shake your head sadly, and turn back into the Nagato's corridors to make your own arrangements.

Darting around the ship, you ask many of your crew whether they'd like to have lunch with your family.

Artesia politely declines, citing a need to inventory medical supplies for a crew of some 1,500 for several months, and Karen is busy as all hell as well. But Haman and Rossweisse are perfectly happy to come along, and Lady Mineva insists on joining in. Of course, Serena insists on coming to look after Mineva: despite barely being a teenager, the younger Karn seems to have a similarly grown-up sense of responsibility.

Well I'm happy with what got written.

Should nickname the Nagato Valhalla. Then whenever Haman's boat comes online, Christen it Einherjar.
>>
So how did we explain to the Titans about the Nagato?
>>
>>35878245
Your father answers the door with a frown, looking down at Serena and Mineva. The little Zeon princess is hiding behind Serena's skirt as best she can, despite her caretaker trying to disappear as well.

"Ah dinne know ya liked 'em so young, boy," your father growls, his mouth splitting open in a smile as Serena blushes and stutters.

"One's my sister, the other is Dozle Zabi's love child," Haman insists nonchalantly. "Say hi, you two."

Rossweisse snickers into the sleeve of her Titans jacket.

How do you explain your reason for being here to your father?

We can't ask them to just up and relocate their entire lives. But they should know to be careful.

Also, didn't our dad already meet Serena and Mineva? There was mention of our parents coming over for our birthday and Mineva being quite taken with him.

He's a snake of a man who would sink to any depths to get what he wants - and nearly succeeded - not long ago. We survived multiple Jormungandr satellite installations in short. Not a whole lot of soldiers made it out of that one."

"In short, I'm worried Voight will go after those closest to me. Especially unguarded family. So, could you come with me to my ship for safety and insurance until I have this fucker's head on a pike?"

Yeah, they wouldn't, would they? After the fourth time we showed up with completely new mobile suits they have no record of, they probably just gave up. At this point they're used to Dominic having far more resources than he should. Any time we pull something like this they just file it under "Reasons Not to Trust Commander O'Hara" and leave it at that.

Those weren't Jormungadrs, they were even older tech. It was a quantity over quality sort of thing. If it had been Jormungandrs they would have punched right through the anti-beam chaff. Instead we just got hit with some old laser turrets. Much more survivable.

Speaking of, gotta get Nina on-board the Valhalla. We have our mobile hq finally.

>>35878572
>weren't Jormungandrs

Dunno about that. One or two of those lasers probably did have a Jormungandr output. They just missed or we had enough beam chaff to nullify it. If they had all been killsats, then we would have been screwed.
>>

“Look,” you tell your parents after swallowing a big bite of sandwich. “I know you can't just leave on the Nagato with us, since you've got important jobs here. And honestly putting you on the front lines would just be dumb.”

“Incredibly,” your mother agrees.

“But the Principality and Mars are both gunning for me already: the new leader ofhte remnants tried to off me personally once already. And Titans may join them at some point if things keep going the way they have. So I'd like to make a few arrangements to help keep you safe.”

“An ya thin' it's the sorta thin' yer local coppers can' deal with?” your father asks, wiping a bit of split pea soup out of his beard. “What're ya gonna bring in that'd keep us getting' kidnapped?”

“Maybe you could get some guards assigned here?” your sister asks quietly, a little more obviously concerned at the situation.

Haman nods. “We have some pull with Cima Garahau, so we could get a few Republic troops stationed nearby.”

“I'm not sure I'm keen on that...” your mother frowns. “That much fuss'd draw attention.”

Your father, on the other hand, merely settles into his chair. “Ahm no great warrior, darlin'. Ah couldn' keep us safe forever, ya know that. Ahd bite a bullet an that'd be an end ah me, an' you'n tha kids'd be on yer own.”

Look into setting up a proper bug-out plan for them. The more we double-up the security on the colony or bring in our own security, no matter how discretely, the more attention we draw.

A proper fake identity for all of them, enough liquid capital for one week, firearm training, and a guaranteed means to get off Londenium in a hurry is our best bet.

Morever. Vigilance. They must be on alert. Any signs of new people moving in next door. A stepvan out of place on the street should have them getting out.

Getting any guards to appear nearby in uniform would be drawing too much attention. So they'll have to be undercover.

Next, we should get both Cima's and local forces to be nearby. I don't trust that one side wouldn't sell us out or blackmail us using our parents - so it's better to have a backup group as well.

Also, do we have some money we can spare? Get a safe room for our family, as well as a house off-colony (or somewhere safe).

“I'll use my pull to have the council put more guards on you all,” you decide. “A team of Republicans would look too suspicious. But I'd also like you to come up with a bugout plan, in case something serious happens that the cops can't handle.”

Haman nods. “This is a custom-built house, right?”

“Aye, 'tis,” your father confirms. “Ahm guessin' you'll be wantin' the plans an drafts?”

Haman nods...

… and then it happens.

Your mind is suddenly overwhelmed with a sudden sense of dread: you've been keeping your senses extended for the last hour and a half, focusing on the Sisters.

They're in trouble.

And as it happens, so are you.

A sense of vertigo passes through you, and for a moment you lose all sense of place and time as your mind is assaulted by foreign thoughts and sensations, before you slam into the ground. Hard.

Coming up you find yourself lying in a clearing surrounded by dead trees with a clump of dead grass stuck in your mouth: the parlor of your parent's home is gone. Spitting the offending blades out, you turn quickly about to see where you've landed, and find two confused and frightened young Newtypes alongside you.

“The hell is going on?” Haman asks you nervously, eying the dead woods and cloudy sky. Other than her voice, the only thing you hear is the sighing sound of the wind blowing among the sticks and branches. An arc of lighting illuminates the clearing as Rossweisse stares at you, her eyes betraying intense mistrust.

“What...” she mutters, her gaze moving past you.

Looking over your shoulder you see a narrow dirt path...

“No...” you mutter, running towards the dirt path. “This isn't.... this isn't right...”

“Dom?” Rosse asks nervously. “What's not right?”

“This whole place,” you reply. “Everything. It doesn't feel like you or me or Haman, and I can feel Carya and Catrina down this path... it's not any of us.”

Haman places a hand on your shoulder. “You mean... like the dreams we sometimes have?”

You nod. “If it's not one of ours... whose is it?”

You'll need to face him to reach them. Be confident.

Ignoring the voice inside your head, as well as all your animal instincts telling you to run as far away from where you're going as you can, you set a course straight down the dirt path with Haman and Rosse in tow. Looking around you can see that even when the lightning flashes, which would normally throw everything into sharper relief, the world you've found yourself in looks blurred, and insubstantial: like the morning after a night of too much tequila, only without the vomiting.

“You hear that?” Haman whispers, taking a knee. Rossweisse creeps up to a tree and pops her head around the side, and motions for you to come forward.

What you see in front of you looks like a carnival: a series of striped tents set up on the lawn in front of a menacing, ruined old building. There's even a Ferris wheel, and the sound of carny music tickles your ears... though it sounds slightly distorted, and off pitch. All the structures are just as blurred and hazy as the woods you woke in, and the lights seem a bit too bright for your surroundings to still be this dark. A sense of familiarity strikes you as an unseen bell tolls the hour: one o'clock.

Nothing about this is right, but something compels you to move on.
Good luck. Believe nothing he tells you.

Absent-mindedly, you stick one hand into your jacket's pocket... and find a ticket there.

"Girls," you whisper, "check your pockets."

They do as you request, and sure enough each of you has a single adult ticket of admission.

"What the FUCK," Haman hisses.

Rosse glances in your direction. "They want us to go over there."

"Well," you conclude after a moment's thought. "No need to sneak in like thieves when we've got tickets. Just follow me."

As you approach the carnival grounds, there's a sad-looking clown at the entrance who takes your tickets.

"Three special guests," he observes. "Well, GO RIGHT IN!" he shouts, suddenly more manic than morose. A honk or two from a horn at his belt encourages you to press onward into the carnival.

"Fucking CLOWNS..." Rosse mutters, shivering in fear and disgust.

Looking around you, there seem to be the usual attractions: bumper cars, a few tents for shows, the Ferris wheel, a haunted house, and stalls of various fried junk food items on sticks. The smell is absolutely atrocious, and it makes you want to eat all the things you can get your hands on.

Sadly, you have no money in your pockets...

"You see that?" Haman whispers, pointing to the stalls.

You squint. "... no?"

"No food," Rosse observes. Sure enough the bins where you'd usually find ice cream bars and soda and fried crap that'd probably give you a coronary just looking at it are all empty. You can smell the promised snacks, but the blurry outlines of the vendors hand nothing but air to their equally blurry customers. The whole transaction is utterly wordless: like the background of a silent film

Lightning splits through the sky, illuminating the whole scene briefly before everything drops back to the strange, blurry sepia that seems to be normal around here.

He's here. Please, hurry.

"That tent," you declare, narrowing down the Sisters' location to the large tent at the end of the grounds.

"The big top," Haman notes. "Figures she'd be there."

"Let's go," Rosse decides, taking the lead as you storm towards the big top...

... only to run headlong into something altogether unexpected.

They're hovering near the bearded lady: even blurred and largely black and white, you can tell she'd be quite pretty were it not for the matted facial hair.

Before her stands a man... or rather, the shadow of a man. His silhouette is visible to you as a line of distortion greater than the norm, where light seems to bend around his edges. Inside the silhouette is nothing at all: just vacant, vacuous, never-ending blackness.

The Hollow Man, he calls himself... hang on... really? That's just immature.

Strange, that voice sounds almost feminine...

Near the Hollow Man there floats a small "hole" in the air, about the size of a golfball. The empty space is just as white as the Hollow Man is black, with little azure flames licking around the perimeter. It holds steady a few feet off the ground, as if staring the Hollow Man hard in his nonexistent eyes.

Nah, couldn't be. While tech is being rushed, we seem to still be in Zeta territory, leaning towards maybe CCA. Unless we see something bust out MEPE or the Wings of Light, the Angel Halo shouldn't be around yet.

On top of that, the only people retarded enough to actually try and build that contraption would be Panini's Axis Zeon, and they don't have the resources, Psycommu tech or even the Newtypes to pull it off.

Shit, they can't even build a normal Psycommu, what makes you think they could build a giant space fortress (or the array equipment, assuming they used Axis as base) that does something that complicated? Especially since Panini hates Newtypes and probably wouldn't ever use one in the same way as the Angel Halo does.

Which would be putting one in the core powering it, which in Newtype terms might as well mean "is in charge" if the mind is sufficiently powerful enough.

"WELCOME!" the Hollow Man greets you loudly, as if noticing you for the first time. Which it most certainly isn't... he knew you were here, and now he's just trying to put on a show of amiability.

Clever boy... you may survive this yet.

"So," the 'man' continues after throwing a look at the white orb of emptiness, "what do you think of my carnival? I AM the proprietor, so it pains me somewhat to see three of my most honored guests ignoring the attractions."

Be ready, I'm powerless here.

"Well, you see we're in a hurry to get to the big top," you explain. "A friend of ours is there."

"Oh," the Hollow Man replies with a high, cruel laugh. "But you have friends with you already! Wouldn't you like to meet them?"

Haman looks at you nervously as a sharp pain fills your mind. "Dom... what's happening!?"

Suddenly, you find yourself at the back of a tent. Before you are tiers of benches, each filled by the blurry outlines of men in businesswear. And on the stage, a familiar face...

"On this day," Haman proclaims into a microphone, "we declare that there is no longer a need for an 'Earth Federation'! After our victory, the whole of humanity can stand united! Under the supremacy of Zeon, all humanity will stand as one!"

The stands erupt into applause even as Rosse's jaw drops: how did Haman get down there onto the stage?

"No way..." Rosse whispers, confused. "That's really... her?"

"Further," Haman continues, seemingly oblivious to what she's saying, "we declare the resistance movements that have come into being across the Earth to be nothing more than terrorists! We cannot allow such villains to divide our people any longer, and so we declare that they will be eliminated within the coming weeks."

More applause.

This is wrong... the conviction in her words shocks you, though there's also a glimmer in her eye. A faint trace of recognition.

Considering that Haman agreed wholeheartedly to Dominic's sentiment of sparing the Zeon remnants that would've been executed on the spot by our Titan reinforcements, it's jarring to see her do a 180, even if it is a Newtype dreamscape.

"I'm going down there," you mutter, rising to your feet and bum-rushing the podium. Strangely, the only one who seems to react to this outburst is Haman herself.

"Who is this man?" she demands. "What are you..."

Reaching across the podium, you grab Haman by her ears and look her straight in the eyes. She looks back at you, with only the vaguest hint that she knows who you are.

"That doesn't sound like the young woman I fell in love with," you tell her quietly.

"I... who are you?" Haman asks. Her voice, which was booming a second ago, now strikes you as uncertain.

You smile at her. "You know me. You know that I'm real, and that all this?" you motion to the crowds behind you. "All that's an illusion. A part of you knows it, I can tell."

"Dom... inic?"

"That's right."

Haman's eyes widen slowly, and she points at something over your shoulder. "I... did that..."

Turning to look, you see a long, metallic cylinder falling through the clouds above a city in the far distance, the walls of the tent suddenly gone. You hear laughter... and it's unmistakeably Haman's.

A second later the colony hits the city directly in a bright flash.

"That's what I could have been," Haman whispers in terror.

You smile, hugging her tightly. "But it's not what you chose," you remind her. "Now come on. It's time to leave these shadows behind."

As Haman returns your embrace the tent returns. Not filled with phantom senators or falling colonies, but just an empty tent. Still the product of a dream, but an improvement.

Where is the quiet one.

"Where's Rosse?" you ask suddenly, looking around the empty tent.

Haman's eyes widen. "She's not in the tent... she's outside somewhere."

Stretching your senses, you feel that indeed the "quiet one" as the voice called her is still here somewhere, so you follow your senses.

"I see you came out with..." the Hollow Man begins before you silence him with a glare and a finger.

What does that gesture mean? Oh well, it can't be complimentary.

Your senses bring you to another tent... what could have possessed her to come in here?

What if I told you it wasn't her choice?

Inside you see Rossweisse standing close with two people, tears of joy in her eyes.

The woman has Rosse's eyes.

"Rosse," you tell her tenderly, dragging Haman along with you as you step in to confront her.

The phantoms of Rossweisse's parents look so real to you, and the looks in their eyes take you off guard for a moment. But it's the same: not just the same sort of sorrow at being confronted, but their eyes and expressions are LITERALLY identical. They're mockeries of the real thing, which sets your blood boiling.

"My parents," Rosse tells you, smiling through her tears. Then, the smile fades a bit.

"... but... they..."

"They're not real," you insist. "Come on, let's..."

You're too late... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

Rosse kneels before the broken bodies of her parents. All around you the tent burns with a heatless flame, and debris is strewn about the ground. One chunk as landed on the two adults, who seem to be covering a third, unseen figure. Their blood decorates the whole scene around their half-crushed remains.

"I... couldn't even bury them," Rosse recollects, tears flowing freely now. "They gave their lives... I was weak... I'm always weak... I can't..."

Her whole body shakes with the sobs, from her raven-black hair to her toes. To your mind, to Haman's, and even to the Sisters', Rosse's anguish is actually intense enough to cause an almost physical pressure.

After a few moments, Rosse stands. "You want me to help you bury them this time?" you ask softly.

She shakes her head. "Too late for that, and they're waiting for us."

You smile down at her. "You're right. Let's go get 'em."

You did well, boy. I'm beginning to take an interest in you myself.

"So, you've seen a few of the sights?" the Hollow Man greets you with a disturbing cackle, his shadowy from flickering in perverse delight.

You shrug. "More than enough, I reckon."

"Not true," he hisses gleefully, gliding towards you. "There's one more attraction I think you'll ADORE..."

"No thanks."

As you attempt to push past, the Hollow Man morphs into your path, blocking your progress.

"Tell me, honored guest... what is it you want?"

The small white void waits nearby, as if observing the scene as it plays out.

I was hoping we'd get a MUH IDEALS speech from Domscartes not a quick one or two lines. Every Gundam protag has to have a moment to spout their ideals.

>>35882425
Looking as if it's the Sisters'. We were actively monitoring them remember.
>>
>>35882354
Inside the big top, you immediately spot Carrina on the stage floor. She's bound tightly to an upright wooden disc, upside-down, and there are several knives stuck deeply into the wood around her. More disturbingly, there's a blindfold over her eyes... and it's wet with blood. The blood trickles slowly up her forehead from her left eye, and she cracks a pained grin at you.

"Hey... took you long enough..."

Beside the wheel you see a man in a mask, whose red eyes remind you of Catrina's when she's dominant. Across from them stands a woman, no doubt the Sisters' mother, dressed as a clown. She carries a brace of knives similar to the ones already stuck in the wheel, and is cocking her arm back to throw another.

It seems she hasn't noticed you.

"You can fuck off too," you tell the phantom of the Sisters' mother, snagging the knife away from her. "You're not even real, and if you were I'd still tell you to fuck off and die. So go on, then. Shoo. Don't bother me."

As you turn to cut Carrina down, the phantoms disappear.

"The hell is going on here?" Carrina presses as you turn her right-side up and free her.

You shrug, before realizing that she can't see you. "No clue." You move to tug off the blindfold, but her hand stops you.

"Why are you hurt?" Haman asks nervously. "Are you hurt in real life?"

Carrina nods. "I was set up. Bastards got my left eye. No clue how bad it is... think the right eye's just got some blood splattered into it."

"Where are you?" Rosse presses.

"314 Edmonton Street," Carrina replies. "I've been tied up, but we haven't moved. Dom?"

"Yeah?" you ask, holding Carrina by the shoulders.

"We tried to contact you... but you're all here. And it's not my mind, and I can feel that it's none of yours either. What's going on out there? How did we get here?"

You hear the bell tolling now constantly, a raucous cacophony of discordant strikes and tones that fills your ears.

"It must have been someone on the outside interfering."

Some *thing*, I should say. Be well, Dominic O'Hara. And when you face your dread again, remember

I'll be watching too.

Those damned bells... you always hated those bells. You wonder if the original ones are still there after the attack...

You find yourself standing in your parent's parlor, your pistol drawn from its holster as your family looks on nervously. Next to you stand Haman and Rosse, whose combat instincts weren't strong enough to cause them to draw but were enough to get them moving when you were "interrupted".

"How long?" you choke out.

Your brother is the first to reply. "About ten seconds?"

>>
>>35882890
Yeah. Seen that coming. It was incredibly retarded to go alone when Voight is actively out there. The Sisters should have been far smarter than to walk straight into an obvious trap like that. I'm just incredibly irritated over something easily preventable by her taking two or three grunts from the Nagato or the Valkyrie's security detail. Short of heavy weapon support, they could have gotten back to their vehicle and called in for evac.

I'm going to chalk that one up to the other Anons not thinking ahead. Like at all.

Fuala Griffon hasn't been born yet, it's impossible that Dom would associate bells with her. Besides, these are deep and ringing bells, not the little chimes she had. And we're wondering if they were still there after the attack, which makes me think that they might be the school bells. Dominic's brother died fighting the fires after a Zaku crashed into the local highschool, and we know he has some unresolved trauma around that, so that's my guess as to what it is.

And never mind. She mentions in the update they got one of her eyes. I wonder if we could just clone her a new one? I mean cloning full grown humans is a thing in the UC era.

Her left eye is probably gone so her piloting days are over unless there is cybereyes in UC. Half her field of view plus her depth perception is trashed. She's fine beyond that.

Well since cloning tech is a thing we might be able to clone her a new eye. If not we can get her a cybernetic one. "We're going," you announce. "And we're taking the car."

Your father tosses you the keys from his pocket. "Send 'em to hell, laddie. We'll take care ah yer frens' here."

As you drive at breakneck pace, at once point mounting the cub to get around traffic, Haman radios Karen.

"No, apparently two guards wasn't enough... yeah, a lockdown would be good, and come out here for my sister and Mineva... or send Audrey, that's fine too. But come with a heavier guard."

"We good?" you ask as you swerve to miss a cyclist.

Haman nods. "Yeah, we should be. How many are we facing?"

"They didn't know how many," Rosse reminds her.

"We go in fast and quiet," you announce. "Haman, fish out my pistol and silencer. I don't want them to ever know we were there."

Haman obliges you, and readies your pistol for combat. When you finally pull up to # 314, you can tell the Sisters are in there. They're in pain, but somehow from here you can tell that they've split the physical pain between the two of them.

The first pair of guards are standing by the doorway. All three of you notice them there before they notice you.

After cracking the front door of house open then pushing through, you take quickly line up a shot at one of the guards. It's dark inside, which spoils your aim as the round goes low, catching the man in the gut and splattering the wall behind him with blood. Haman's shot hits just higher, sending a spray of bubbly red arterial blood into the air. The second guard, a rather stout woman in her forties or so, takes a bullet through her mouth that tears her jaw off, courtesy of Rosse. Her mouth moves once with a surprised gurgle before you put a second round into her head, ending her misery.

Four brass roll across the hardwood floor as you swap your mag for a fresh one, tucking the spare into the holster.

To get closer to the sisters, you have to take your little team up a set of stairs. At the top you find one man, his rifle slung low in front of him. You hold off a second until he's off the radio, and prepare to strike...

The soldier drops to the wooden floor with a muffled thump, and Haman and Rosse both dash for the door frame with you hot on their heels.

Inside, you can hear the remaining three men talking nervously.

"We need to sit tight," one insists. "We'll get evac soon enough."

"And if we're compromised?" a second asks quietly. "What then?"

"Then you die," you hear Carrina's voice. "You should just surrender now when you have the chance."

"Shut it," the third insists. "We turned one of yours easily enough, and your team's got no idea we're even fishing around for Newtypes. What makes you think they're coming?"

People can be idiots sometimes. Best example being those people still convinced the titans betrayed this despite being told that it wasn't them and a but a single greedy idiot who just happens to be apart of them.

You quickly let Carrina know you're coming in hot, and she seems strangely eager for it.

And so you kick in the door, moving quickly to one side as you try and line up a shot on the nearest body. The three men are standing around the room in varying states of shock, and Carrina is tied up in a chair in the center of the room...

... or rather, she WAS tied up. Now she has a look on her face, one of triumph mixed with wrath behind her blindfold.

Three shots ring out in quick succession. You hit one hard in the gut while Haman and Rosse duck in through the door behind you, reducing a second target's chest to pulp and splinters of bone.

The last man's eyes reflect pure terror as Carrina grabs his neck in her hands from behind: you can see her wrists have been badly burned by the rope as she's worked against them during her brief captivity, and a trickle of blood from the left side of her face drips onto his shoulder as her grin widens.

"When you get to Hell, say hi to that traitor Vasquez for me," she whispers in his ear before almost effortlessly snapping his spine.

Contuning my post because people can't read that well. If you read the update you can figure out they aren't part of the Titans easily here's why.

>"Then you die," you hear Carrina's voice. "You should just surrender now when you have the chance."

>"Shut it," the third insists. "We turned one of yours easily enough, and your team's got no idea we're even fishing around for Newtypes. What makes you think they're coming?"

>"Because it's Titans!" the second voice shoots back. "And more importantly, it's THOSE Titans! Who cares how much Riah is paying us if we never get to spend it?"

Carrina tugs the blindfold up off her right eye and takes a few experimental blinks while Haman and Rossweisse try to stop the last surviving kidnappers' bleeding. It's a losing fight: the bullet fragmented into his bowels and liver, so he'll bleed out before you can even get him to the car. So, you opt to leave him as he is.

"Let's pick up their personal effects and that Titans guy's tags," Haman suggests. Rossweisse nods and the two set to work collecting whatever information they can from the mess.

"You crazy, irresponsible, insane, sexy, amazing bitch... tell me you're okay," you practically order Carrina as you embrace her, worried that she may be hiding worse injuries than the eye.

She sighs. "I'm still standing... one of the guards who volunteered for the trip was a plant. You've probably met him."

"Yeah," you admit, "we got in a disagreement. He wanted to live. I had other plans."

Carrina chuckles. "Thanks for coming after us... I knew you'd show up ready to wreak God's vengeance on these pricks, even after the bullshit we went through when I tried to get in touch."

"It's okay," you reassure her. "We'll figure out what happened later, now we need to get you back to the ship. Get you fixed up."

She smiles at you. "Artesia won't need any anesthetics... I'll probably pass out on my own. Staying fused like this helps with the pain, but it's damned tiring..."

On the way back you let Haman drive, opting to sit in the back with Carrina's head nestled in your lap. After a quick call to your parents confirming that you're alive, and that Audrey picked up the younger girls you left behind without incident, the car falls silent for a while.

"Hey, Dom?" Carrina asks quietly.

You look down at her with a reassuring smile, sensing her discomfort. "Yeah? What is it?"

"Do you think it was foolish... for us to want t have faith in our parents? To hope that maybe they'd acknowledge us again some day, even if we never got quite to where your family is? That things could be better?"

"We walked into a trap because of it today. Sure, there was the setup, and they had an inside guy. But was it a mistake to even go at all?"

Looking down you see tears starting to form in Carrina's one good eye, tracking down past the caked blood on her cheeks.

"It's never a mistake to have hope," you tell Carrina. You're vaguely aware of Haman and Rosse listening in, but you don't care. "But next time you try to spring a trap with your face, at least take me with you."

Carrina laughs softly, then winces. "Yeah... I'll be sure to do that."

As your car approaches the dockyards where the Nagato is waiting, you hear bells ringing behind you. This time, they're the real deal.

You don't even bother to look back.

Anything still need sorting out?

I was going for surprises, not outright confusion.
>>
>>35885925
Probably not, though man would it be neat if we're the reason that Londo Bell takes bells as it's symbol. In all likelihood I'd expect it to be the school bells of Dom's high school, based on their appearance in the dream world.

Any idea when anihiem will slip the surprise into a shipment? That seems like an operation we can't put off for long, because they'd notice the tracker and just abandon the base.
>>
>>35886005

could be that when the Zaku that destroyed the school crashed, the shock-wave caused the bells to start ringing, and that sound became linked to the events of that day via the intense shock and realisation of what happened, or more specifically, what could have happened...
>>
im guessing you wont reveal the identityof the hollow man yet
>>
>>35885978
No, the things I'm confused about are all things that I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to understand yet. Like why and how we were telepathically attacked by the Hollow Man, or what the helpful voice was, or what significance bells have to Dominic. I'm sure that will all become clear in time, but right now it's probably better if I'm confused about them. It builds suspense.
>>
>>35885945

Symbolism Anons. Everything has gone to shit quicker than in canon and the Feds are making their move now to curb the Titans. The Civil War is going to be even more bloody. Might be getting a recruitment offer from the mysterious jackass from our 2spooky Carnival ride.
>>
>>35886107
until there is a more likely option im gonna guess Papsmere is pulling some newtype voodo on us, if he actually is with Riah
>>
>>35885923
So how about that Riah, huh?
Something tells me we're gonna infiltrate a mobile suit inside the colony soon.
>>
>>35886015
The mediocre ends would have had some greater degree of suffering for your teammates.

The real "bad ends" involved cosmic horrors: because the 'voice' was right. It really was more of a "what" got a hold of all of you than a "who".

>>35886030
They are scared of it.

Rebecca is coping rather well. She can tie her own shoelaces now, and is pretty much capable of thinking and communicating on the same level she could before. But she still has some psychological scarring, and her fine motor control has seen better days.
>>
>>35886157
That would be a cruel irony to attack Riah with a surprise Kampfer again. Especially since the one we have is the same one as the first time, only up-armored so autocannons won't be enough to take it out. It would just be mocking them.
>>
>>35886157
On the brightside, we'll have more Kampfers. Side 3 was building more.

>>35886168
So cloned eye or cybereye or eyepatch? Is the twins' eye salvageable at all?
>>
>>35886168

Are we going to reenact 0080 War in the Pocket with the Titans' monoeye lookalikes? Because if we're gonna bring it to them, I say we should do it in a Hizack. See how many cases of PTSD we can trigger on the way in and out.
>>

>>
>>35886260
Hizacks are shit anon-kun
>>
>>35886353

But they look just like Zakus. Like I said, I want to see if we can cause people to immediately associate us with Bernie's complete wrecking of the Alex and start shitting bricks.

Just, you know. Less burgers this time around.
>>
>>35886168
When are we going to take care of Riah?
>>
>>35886353
Barzams in Hizack colours?
>>
>>35886239
As you'll learn next thread, their left eye is gone. What it gets replaced with will be determined later.

>>35886303
Who said he ever left? It's one of several beings like it that exist in the setting, and you've met three so far. Two today: the white spot and the Hollow Man, who are opposites.

>>35886312
It's similar in concept, but it's not Tzeetnch.
>>
>>35886375
Bernie didn't completely wreck the Alex. He scored a mission kill on it. The actual damage was relatively minor, and the only reason the Alex wasn't repaired and redeployed was because the war ended before it could be.
>>
>>35886375
>>35886384
just use our Kampfer
>>
>>35886397
Oh god, are we going to have to fight Ideon?
>>
>>35886353
>Hizacks are shit

Which brings up a fun point. Grab as many of the decommissioned Hizacks and Quels we can gift or find before they're scrapped and turn them into mobile weapons or dolls. Hell, install a fork of ALICE on the things and we'd have disposable grunt suits.

Titans won't care, right?
>>
The Hollow Man was Gnarly, I suppose?

Which means we'll eventually get to beat the shit out of our issues and get a bitchin' Persona?
>>
>>35886445

We'd know if it was Ideon.

Seriously, we'd know. We wouldn't even be having this conversation because whenever Ideon does anything that causes it to awaken as a self-aware machine, everything ends.
>>
>>35886471

Do we really want to introduce this version of the Universal Century to what amount to RC Mobile Suits? How long do you even think it would take before Panini decides to see if higher drugs mean they can be driven around like funnels?

Or god forbid, we accidentally enter the Gundam X era far too soon and there's G-Bits everywhere just before a colony crashes while we're on a Jamille-tier Newtype high and it comes crashing down like a fucking freight train.
>>
>>35886477
We're partway there currently with the shitload of Social Links we've built over the past year. With the psychoframe being developed, a Persona is not that far off.
>>
>>35886548
>higher drugs

Man, the Purus are going to be completely fucked. Still, we're going to stumble across the mobile dolls anyway. We gotta take out the Zeon raiders on the farside of the Moon.
>>
>>35886548
>G-Bits
Yes!
>>
>>35886675

And that's why a Mobile Doll system would be a fucking terrible idea to introduce until the plot runs into it first, we might cause them to catch on to G-Bits or some other weird trick or thingamabobber we're not prepared to deal with yet.
>>
>>35886477
Exactly WHAT they were, I'm not inclined to say.

I can tell you what they call themselves: the Hollow Man calls itself "Dread", and the white orb/voice calls "herself" "Hope"
>>
So.... What kind of toys should we get for Second Team and the MA?

Could the MA be assigned to Second Team as a Heavy Support Unit? It could have handles attached to rapidly redeploy the team, by virtue of it's design, it naturally has a degree of beam resistance making it a good method of deploying Second team behind enemy lines...
and it's weapons aren't anything to snuff at...

Maybe if the reactor could be beefed up, we could try and have Hyper-Beam-Guns installed in the claws...

Newtype-Crippled for life? Intense migraines? PTSD to the point where he had trouble just sitting in an MS cockpit?

Lets try NOT to usher in that particular era.
>>
>>35886708
When we do finally get ahold of it, install it in Balls. They're cheap and easily replaced.

>>35886718
With our current setup, we can manufacture just about any mobile suit. Building ourselves a couple more Kampfers or even redesigning the Hizack or Quel from the ground up not to be shit is doable. I still want to get ahold of the Bylarant.
