The drive ship begins taking in more metals, its refineries burning away the rusted remains of the hive fleet rubble as it separates bone from alloy. Black clouds stream from its open belly as small craft bump more chunks of debris into the gaping maw.
As it completes its response it begins another signal. "Local charts outdated. Please provide appropriate location for new facility construction."

But the Hive has telepathy as an intrinsic part of how it functions, and it's no slave race. Even if they were at some point, you'd imagine there'd be genetic memories of a rebellion.

So, how did the Hive evolve telepathy when the only other way to get it is to become the buttslut of the dark gods?
