The second you hear the door slide close you begin twisting your wrists, pulling on the bindings with your teeth, but nothing seems to work. Exhausted you slump back down panting, the cool air stings your teeth and your wrists are red and raw.

You scowl and press your back into the moist rotting wall, wiggling a bit and cracking your spine. You make a mental note to try and do some stretches or calisthenics whenever you’re not almost about to die.

Finally your eyes are starting to adjust, but the thin rays of lunar light aren’t really enough to make out any significant details from anywhere not right near you. The floor of the house has in fact been cracked and broken through in at least one spot, allowing a few stalks of grass to poke through while tufts of what you think are moss grow near a small pool of water in a depressed portion of the warped floor.

You close your eyes and slow your breathing. You need to think about what to do when you see this Koga guy or better yet, clear your mind entirely. Don’t dwell on Inuyasha’s body, or the horrors you’ve witnessed, or that history paper you never got to turn in, or that time you passed out on the couch after drinking spoiled apple juice you tried to ferment and then blamed the mess you made on your broth-

All around you lay scattered bones. Mixed of man, beast, and those you cannot recognize. Dry and bleached. The horizon has a soft and noticeable curve as though you’re atop a large sphere.
You lift up your foot to reveal a shattered jawbone and maybe a rib. The bits flake away and blow upwards, dissipating on an unfelt wind as if evaporating. Your curious eyes follow the particles upward and to the sky and you promptly lose your footing and fall.

The air while unmoving provides little resistance and as the red-pinkened skies slowly give way to the black twilight of the sky above; hovering in it are three horrible moons each giving off their own pink glow. No… not moons. Above you suspended in the sky are three creatures. Abominations of god and reason, larger than you can possibly comprehend. Each wrapped around itself and bent in unnatural ways so as to each be suspended in an orb of pink; occasionally twitching or bubbling in their prisons as if silently thrashing in the womb.

Your eyes twitch in and out of focus as they drink in the atrocities unblinking and unrelenting. You throw your head to the floor and cover your head with your hands, hoping to shield yourself from the horrors suspended in the sky.

A voice calls out to you, echoing and as if whispered in your ear by many ”Why are you here?”

The entity rushes forwards, one hand held high and “clawed”, the other held out in front to act as a block or a mock bettering ram perhaps. You’re honestly starting to get really pissed off though and this whole sudden attack thing is starting to wear thin.

You grind your foot into the ground and start your own sprint at the woman, throwing your shoulder into her and she reacts in kind, swinging her arm down intent to hit you, but you’re a little too quick. You roll your body and slam your back into her, pressing yourself flesh up against her front and reach over your shoulders grabbing her big white robe and pull as you thrust your butt out.

Your attacker is soon lifted off of her feet, over your head, and then crashing back down to “earth” in front of you where it kicks madly to upright itself and ready for another attack.

“You know, I’m getting really godamn sick of everyone trying to kill me. Even my own subconscious.” You say clenching your fist.

“And what will you do to stop it? Beg for more power? A moment of strength in a lifetime of weakness? For another hand out? You have so much potential, but you never even try…”

“Kikyo” raises her palm, flat and outstretched across her chest and waves it. A sudden blast of wind strikes you, pushing you back. You can feel your eyes strain and your flesh burn, but you’re holding your ground.

You squint and bear the arctic storm, raising your hands you place one palm under your elbow and the other straight up, moving your arms in a slow circular motion as you arc your foot out and slowly sweep it back.

The ice begins to fog your vision and crack your skin. “Kaze no…”

“Have you listened to nothing I’ve said?!” The priestess screams, waving her other arm at you and refreshing her attack.

“Nah” you reply, opening your eyes and pushing off with your back foot. You rush at her with a cocked fist despite the force of her attack. You grit your teeth and let loose a cry, your spit freezing to the roof of your mouth as your fist connects with “Kikyo’s” mask with a sickening crunch. Sharks of your skin are broken free from the impact and your blood splatters across her pristine mask as she spirals backwards and ragdolls in the bonefield. “I’m just fucking with you.”

You ignore the tremendous pain in your hand as your body begins to thaw and blood flows from your hand, staining the grass underneath.

“You said I’m weak and you’re right. That I lack power. And you’re right. WERE right. But for all your boasting, you’re the one laying face down right now.”
