Chen Buddhist Monks like myself are not allowed to marry as long as they stay with the sect in question; it breaks our vows.

However some DID, either by leaving the sect or by not being very good monks at all.

Daoist monks are actually priests, and can indeed have families, though abstaining from other things, such as alcohol or too much sex, is still common.

There is a website called Wuxia Edge which keeps track of various releases of shows, films, and even videogames that is quite useful, and the owner even used youtube to put up many, MANY wuxia series that Wulin Sage was fond of, though it seems to have been taken down now.

Not really; it's not an exact system, so using other warriors from other times is not a very good measurement.

This is actually sub-genre of wuxia called xiaoxia, which often emphasis mythical deities, animals, and magic more then the human drama of wuxia, and frequently takes place in earlier time periods as well.

You CAN include mythical creatures in wuxia, but place emphasis on how rare and fantastic they are, because they tend to be so.

Exalted is a fine game, though perhaps a little...clunky at times.

I believe it functions better as a superpowered mythic warrior game with anime and Moorcock influences however, rather then a wuxia system, as Exalted subverts one of the most important rules of the genre; anyone, absolutely ANYONE can be a xia, and there are seemingly no limits to the power they can obtain, while in Exalted the highest levels of power can only be reached by Exalted.

It's rather boringly simple honestly; using qi one can augment the bodies functions and increase the power of their blows and such.
Iron Palm Sect's Internal Arts involve taking this a step further, using qi to reinforce the body's basic structure (muscles, tendons, bones, etc) for increased strength and durability.
Furthermore they have the ability to give themselves incredible tolerance to pain and injury; even my own ability to absorb punishment and simply ignore harm to my physical form is not so great as Iron Palm Sect's internal arts is.

I suspect his Internal arts reinforced his bones and spine to prevent them from fracturing at Sky's blow, while probably giving him a mild concussion at the same time.

His Jade Tiger Skills simply help him ignore the pain and have his injuries not affect him.

He'll likely be bedridden even longer then Sky will even with medical attention, but perhaps not; obviously Qiang's durability and will to live is incredible, even for a xia.

I suspect Hero Qiang has something of a masochistic streak, not to mention a general enjoyment of combat.

I am personally unfamiliar with his (unusually large for his age) energy reserves, but his lightning attacks seemed to be the only things that had any significant affect; they disrupted his ability to employ his internal arts and ignore the injuries the attacks caused.

Later when Sky did his glowing thing, he simply caused too many injuries for Qiang to compensate for.

Possibly, but it would be riskier; Sky's body is powerful, but Qiang's style is so much more brutally efficient that any injuries Sky received would've been far worse, especially considering Qiang's injuries wouldn't really be hampering his actual performance and Sky's would.

Sky did the best he could with the information he had available to him however; even I didn't realize how difficult it would be to keep Qiang down, nor did I fully understand just how great his tolerance for pain was.

It's rather difficult to estimate oneself in a neutral fashion and be accurate, so I won't even make such an attempt.

I am willing to reveal that I'm fairly certain I am considerably stronger then the rest of the Top Ten Young Hero hopefuls.

To elaborate; while given certain conditions or circumstances it is conceivable that any of them could be any other member of their group, it would take at least two of them to match me in a fight, and even then they would be struggling somewhat. Three would be a closer match.

I am as stated earlier on this thread, I am twenty-five years of age this year, and thus only barely allowed to participate in the Young Heroes Tournament as it is.

And there's no special secret; I work hard, study well, have access to excellent teachers, as well as the impressive depths of kungfu knowledge known by the Shaolin Sect, in addition to having a gift for kungfu in general.

Sometimes the answer to a spectacular question is a pretty boring one!

I find that true competence has its roots in the 'boring' fundementals. I personally know a guy that's unnervingly intelligent and capable of some impressive feats of deduction, and when he explains his logic and methods it's very easy to follow and understand.

Doesn't stop him from doing better than most everyone else though.

That's a harder question to answer.

Frankly I personally think it's just that we've been around that much longer then everyone else and in theory we spent most of our time up in the Temple meditating, praying, and doing martial arts, so over time our Sect's knowledge and refinement has grown considerably.

Our founder was Bodhidarma during the Ten Kingdoms and Five Dynasties Era, and he is supposed to have created or developed most, if not all of our 72 skills.

My friend Hero Sky seems to be self-evident of this as well; his internal arts are amazing, yes, but mostly he spent much of his life simply training in the Min Mountains to be a better fighter, and so he is one.

Even his logical deduction abilities are straightforward; he simply listens to what people say and remembers things said to him.

It's possible Sky would make an excellent detective, if he knew anything about anything other then martial arts and living on mountains.

Well, perhaps we ought to find him a partner or mentor who is a detective, then. Certainly, I agree that his deductive abilities are excellent. He's catching up with the outside world extremely fast for somebody working up from first principles. Not to mention that good detectives are always in demand for seeing justice done, and he's got personal reasons to snoop around too.

I find something most very intelligent people have in common is that they ask questions rather then assume they already know something.

There's two ways to learn a lesson.

The first is that someone else teaches you in detail about the lesson you need to learn.
The second is that you learn it for yourself, either through personal experience and discovery or simply making a mistake.

I find the former to be a much more effective teaching method then the latter, as will said poor soul when he discovers the truth of his assumptions.

And to be perfectly honest, the main reason I told him to ask Young Lady Ao is because I'm not as familiar with the details as she is; her father was actually at the event in question, so could give a more detailed account. I was aware of this because Dragon King Ao Guang's exploits are well-known.
